Nothing ever ends poetically. It ends and we turn it into poetry. All of that blood was never once beautiful. It was just red.

Antares "Ray" Reyleigh

Age:
17

Species:
Human

Physical Appearance:
174 Centimeters tall, weighing in at a little over 66 kilograms, Antares is a pretty skinny young man whose immediate physical appearance makes you think the blue-eyed boy possesses very little about him that would threaten anyone. He's got immediate kindness in his eyes and a warm smile, yet he tries to play himself like a rugged stoic who values strength and personal integrity above all. Ray walks with a swagger in his step, an oversized leather jacket draped around him, trying to look bigger and tougher with every step he takes, like a boy trying to fit into the shoes of a man.

Equipment:
His lightsaber is made out of wonderful craftsmanship, with a patterned brown hilt, metal accents, and a black emitter, the button to ignite the blade is covered in leather wrapping for increased grip.

A-180 Blaster

Skills:
Lightsaber Combat; Form 2 and 5 Masashi and Shien are his forte, a prodigy in form 2, Ray could quite easily transfer his lifelong training with vibroblades onto the lightsabers once he was taken into the order when it comes to melee combat. However, when it comes to fighting blaster fire, especially in groups the Padawain feels a lot more secure ducking behind cover and taking potshots with his blaster in hand.

Engineering; Unlike many of his Jedi peers, Antares enjoys tinkering. He tinkers with anything he could get his hands on, and his masters tended to say that if he hadn't been a Padawan, he would've been one of the New Republics' greatest engineers. As a result, he appreciates great engineering and wishes to understand how things work, taking them apart and putting them back together again. While he respects, and even really enjoys the workings of spaceships, he cannot fly them.

Weaponry; Antares is, for his young age and lack of any real formal training in the use of blasters, a very skilled young marksman. Something his peers aboard the Crimson Raider quite appreciated about the cabin boy, though what he once thought was the innate skill with a handblaster has turned out to be an innate connection to the force that helped him throughout his life.

Force Abilities:

Skilled;
Force Valor
Force Jump
Force Telekinesis

Adept;
Force Barrier
Force Push
Force Pull

Demonstrated But Untrained:
Alter Environment
Force Shockwave
Precognition

Weaknesses:
Ray is frankly, a machine up close with a lightsaber. His background and natural prowess for the physical side of the force makes him, despite his small frame and young age, quite the opponent even for his more seasoned Jedi peers in sparring. But, pushed into a situation where Antares does not get the chance to fight his opponent head-on, the young padawan folds, and retreats to little more than a space-faring privateer with a blaster. He has not mastered defending himself with his lightsaber. He's arrogant and cocky while being a trickster and a true brat by heart, Ray struggles with doing what he's told or with taking consequences into account when it comes to his actions.

Character History:
Ray is born on the outer rim on an unnamed planet to parents that did not matter, he grew up lonely, parents were never truly around so in that sense, maybe it didn't matter so much when they eventually left him or perished. Antares never quite found out what happened. When he was six, he became a stowaway on a spaceship taking him far into the depths of the outer rim, soon discovering he was onboard a pirate ship, belonging to Captain Sorr and his crew, the Crimson Cascades. Their ship, Vermillion Tide was quite large for a pirate ship, and Sorr had taken over the crew after the original captain, Vermillion had died fighting the Empire.

Antares was discovered hiding on the ship but he wasn't punished for it, rather adopted into the family, raised as a cabin boy aboard the ship. Learning the tools of the trade and getting instilled with the honor code of thieves - still hunting the remnants of the empire in the outer rim wherever they could, in places the New Republic and recently reborn Jedi Order couldn't reach. They robbed the odd aristocrat and ally of the republic or separatists, too.

The Vermillion Tide met its end when it raided a cargo ship carrying supplies for what would later become The First Order when Antares was 14. The cargo ship had reinforcements arrive sooner than anticipated and the star destroyer annihilated the Crimson Tide. Leaving the ship crashing onto the sandy, hellish desert of Ranoon, an uninhabited planet since its climate was destroyed hundreds of years ago. A sandstorm blew in over Antares and the rest of the survivors, most of them perished, Antares only surviving thanks to his latent force abilities that allowed him to instinctively summon a barrier around him that kept the poisonous sand from killing him. Long enough for Jedi Master, and former Stormtrooper Of The Empire, Jadaarn to find him, following the star destroyer that had battled The Vermillion Tide.

Jadaarn was impressed by the native abilities of Ray and took him under his wing and over the past years, the two grew quite close, squabbling while the padawan began his training. Antares would make quick progress in lightsaber combat, able to easily transfer his skills with a vibroblade, but struggled with living up to his seen potential in the ways of the force. Nonetheless, The new council had ordered Ray and Jadaarn to split up for the coming mission, as this would be a test for the padawan under the command of another Jedi knight temporarily, and his first assignment without his master.

You know I'm here. In this household, we stand for the Roman brand of Roleplays.
Yo! My exile to my parents house seems to be somewhat extended and I'm struggling to find the time to get caught up with the thread. I'll be home in a few days and then we'll be back on at full steam.
I'm out of town for like another week, so the plots probably won't move till I am home again unless @Sep gets a heck on. Though, I could probably type out a response for Julian sooner rather than later.
I've been convinced.
<Snipped quote by Sep>

Just what the other three goons downstairs are doing, unless you just want us to progress our individual fights on our own.

I've put it on Hound to smack some ass, haha. I feel like you and the rest are playing the goons just fine for now. I'll make us take on the leader in my next post and then wrap the mission up and do the same for the precinct.

"You're my jailor."

And Vincent was gone, using his powers to disappear to, what Julian presumed, was the other end of the fight. His powers let him just do that, and it bugged him. Julian, flabbergasted had a thought up retort in regards to the verbal gutpunch Vincent threw his way. He was gonna tell him how his interest in Vincent was vested in enhancing Vincent's abilities, while he approached Dandelion more like a science project - Hayden's a child Julian had to look after, Julian and Red were both almost born yesterday, yet Vincent was the least mature person in the entire team. He wanted to say things to that extent, yet he didn't have the time.

Instead, he, to a completely empty room, sans the knocked out thug who's muscle mass was shrinking rather rapidly, he yelled.

"Yeah? Well! You're stupid!" The teen genius yelled, only to feel something grab his arm from out of his view.
"Not as stupid as you." The formerly electrocuted thug blurted out, punching Luthor in the face, sending him tumbling to the side. Getting out the steel case from his pocket, he opened it and found six patches inside. He got out four and put them on his wrist, his eyes lit up with a dim green haze as his body regained it's hulking size. He was clearly hurt, but even more importantly, he was really angry.

He charged at Julian, whom clicked his belt buckle, producing a small forcefield around him that kept the hulking man from tearing him limb from limb. The bubble was cracking after a couple of hits from the brute, but it was enough time for Julian to get his suitcase to activate the magnetic mechanism in it, pulling it towards Julian's own wrist. The briefcase came towards him, as the man's fist cracked the bubble and met with Julian's cheek, sending him careening on the floor, his nose broken.

With his still gloved hand, Julian tried to catch the man's fist, in doing so, his shoulder was dislocated and his arm broken in - at least four places. But the electric blast from his glove stunned his assailant, making him stumble backwards and taking even more damage from the electric shock. The suitcase was at Julian's side, but he was laying on the ground, unable to open it properly.

"Protocol Lazarus." Julian spoke, the suitcase popped open as he rolled to his side, inside, a single blue vial with a tiny syringe being lit up by four very powerful strobe lights. The suitcase simulated sunlight. And the serum? It was concocted out of 98% pure, Kryptonian-Hybrid blood. Julian removing his ring would just let him absorb sunlight, he'd start with no batteries and he'd die anyway as soon as the hulking man ahead of him recovered. This was a jumper cable hooked up to the sun, and it was his only chance.

Jamming the serum into his chest, his felt the raw power surge into his bloodstream, his shattered bones in his arm melded together almost instantly, his nose healed and so did the cuts and bruises. But he also felt it fading, fast. The ring on his finger made sure of that. And Julian's glove was covering his hand so he couldn't take it off. The brute ran at him like a steamroller as Julian sat on the ground, on his knee. The thug charged at him, the teen threw his had curled into a fist straight up, the worst performed uppercut in the history of the world. But it hit the man in the jaw, knocking him four inches off the ground, unconscious. Julian felt the power leave him as quickly as it had arrived and he was back on the ground, catching his breath.

About a minute later, he crawled to his feet, examined the thug once more, this time making sure he was out cold. He found the steel case, inside of it, two more patches. He grabbed it, and was about to head down into the hole, as he felt his collarbone hurt. He had broken it when he threw his punch. Great.

Ripping the sleeve off his shirt he created a makeshift sling and headed down the hole, landing right in the mayhem. He didn't have any powers, and the patches? Yeah, they'd do him no good, there was no way he was seeing what venom would do to a depowered kryptonian. That's not to say they were without their uses for his means.

"Hey, Red!" He shouted at Morrow. "Take one!" He continued, throwing the case at Red. Red's metabolism was off the charts. He'd get a power boost and no long term effects from taking one of them as his body would simply burn out the poisonous materials same way they'd let him build muscle mass while eating nothing but hot pockets for an entire week.

Cole Cash Ex-Soldier and Freedom Fighter 31 Chicago
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

"Time I got all "chosen one-y" on somebody's ass."

Cole is a disgraced Army Ranger who was faced with a dishonorable discharge after he ended up fighting his superiors in the field, refusing orders and putting his squad in harms way to do what he thought was right. Including punching his commanding officer in the face. After the military spit him out he went back to his criminal ways, trading in pickpocketing for the art of grifting, becoming a fierce conman before his life took an even more unfortunate turn. Aliens.
The Daemonites gave him their psychic powers, making Cole a low-level telepath and telekinetic. But, more importantly it allowed him to sense them despite their shapeshifting abilities and it allowed him to mount a one man war against a unseen threat. Seven years ago, Cole Cash aka The Grifter was Interpol's most wanted for his world-wide killing spree. Including an attempteded hits on Green Arrow, Black Canary and Martian Manhunter. Cole surrendered after he killed the leader of the Daemonite invasion force, the one that had replaced his own brother, Max. He's spent five years in prison for 22 murders, no one believes that he did it to protect the planet.

A B I L I T I E S:

"The Most Dangerous Man Alive": Cole is a world-class gunslinger, demolitions expert and general military badass. There's very few things he can't figure out how to kill someone with if he so decides. The moniker 'world's most dangerous' was something he earned after the authorities that tried to stop his Alien murdering-spree ended up unsuccessful and he killed the alien that posed as a special agent with the FBI.

Conman: You can't bullshit a bullshitter, and there's few that can bullshit Cole Cash.

Psychic powers: Granted the psychic abilities of a race of evil dominators of societies seems like a bit of a burden to bear for anyone. It's not become much easier with time, especially not after Cole ended up being their most wanted and he managed to fight back the deamonite invasion with the help of some friends. Now he's stuck with being able to hear people's stray thoughts and lift small objects with his mind. He's no manhunter, but being able to sense someone's inclinations makes a standoff a lot less likely to turn to shit. The same shit that's gonna blow his psychic brains out also allows Waller to neutralize his powers whenever she or whoever's in charge at any given time to do so. A mind reader's no fun if your brain is classified.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

I like Cole's story because he's a raving lunatic, or at least that's the way he ends up being percieved. He's fighting a bloody crusade against a threat only he can seem to perceive. He's classically not a villain, and frankly he's barely an anti-hero but that's because his story's rarely taken out of it's very narrow context. Cole's crusade leads to him killing senators, police chiefs and millionaires, it doesn't matter that he's right if he can't really prove it, and he'd end up in jail for that eventually. Putting him on the Suicide Squad gives him a chance to get back to his own personal roots of being a soldier and doing what he's told, and hopefully making the world a better place. Once he works off his multiple life sentences with the squad, he wishes to retire to a quiet hunting cabin in the mountains and just live as far away from anyone else and their thoughts as possible.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Weapon Caches: Cole went on a 14 month rampage across the U.S. And during which he setup multiple weapon caches inside of the country. He also used to be part of the black ops team 7, and therefor knows of their caches in areas where he did missions back in his army days. Guy'll be armed pretty much all of the time with anything from a .45 to a bazooka.

Cole has very little issue with Waller or Flag turning off his powers. He appreciates the peace and quiet. He doesn't appreciate the bomb that comes with the off-switch, though.

Cole's very excited to kill neo-nazis.
