Owner & Keeper of The Big Dipper Inn & Tavern
Norwen's grandfather, Norwen Rothfuss I (85) arrived in Starlight Cove nearly sixty yeaes ago. With him he brought a simple dream: to create a space wherein locals and travelers alike could stop for a bout of home comfort, strong good drinks, and delicious food; a place for people of all walks of life to gather, socialize, and enjoy the simpler things in life. After several years of laboring and planning, the Big Dipper was founded. Originally serving only as a tavern it became a hotspot in the community, being a place where dinner meetings were held and holidays could be celebrated. Beyond food, drink, and merryment, news from out of town was the house specialty, as adventurers would pass through telling tales of their journeys and the goings-on of the wider world.
After a long career, Norwen I passed the ownership of the tavern to his son, Norwen Rothfuss II (60). Under the son, the Tavern expanded. The addition of overnight lodging sparked a boom in the Big Dipper's business. Traveling merchants, wandering adventurers, and festival goers could rely on the Inn to provide a bed in a cozy room any time of the year. He also expanded the dinning room and bar making a space dedicated to local meetings and performances by bards and other entertainers. If anyone asked, The Big Dipper was the place to go for a good time.
The business flourished.
Until it didn't.
Norwen Rothfuss III was raised and groomed to carry on the legacy of his grandfather and father before him. Though he's harbored dreams of adventure for himself, his sense of duty and loyalty to his family's handprint in Starlight Cove stays his hand. He has his work cut out for him. As Starlight Cove has fallen to disrepair, so too has the Inn & Tavern. Though the food and drink remain a staple, the jovial atmosphere has faded, and much of the space requires copious maintenance both inside and out. Together with his wife, as well as a resident cat named Melkie, Norwen takes on the revitalization of the old Inn with a determined, if slightly frustrated, disposition.
