Alright, feels like forever since i've been able to get online! For those of you that are wondering, the IC post will most definitely be up today. The story will likely begin either at the the entrance of the school or in the courtyard, on our first day. I'll be answering questions and reviewing any new cs' now. Please don't beat me up if i miss anything! Lol
@Traitor That moment when you third-guess something >.< Originally i didn't even want to add decay because i knew how OP it could be lol... But let's give this a shot. While I do like the overall concept of your character, there are a few things i disagree with. I will begin with saying, i believe the functionality of the abilities would be cool, if we soley had NPC encounters. That in mind, i also have to think about the other players and the potential for conflict or even if there was a fun tournament. In that scenario, there's pretty much nothing anybody can do because they can't even touch him. For example; There's a tournament and your character may decide to join. It would be unfair because they could just have the intent to "tag" somebody and will as long as there's physical contact. How's a combat type guardian supposed to fight against that, when physical contact is the only thing they know? Now a few points:
-The tag not requiring line of sight/no loss in effectiveness with increase of range: I do not agree with this. While i'm no expert on the subject, very rarely (if at all) do you see a magic spell that doesn't require at least a visual of the target. Secondly, if i allowed a limitless range, the character would simply need to tag something and run as far as they can and sit in some hiding spot until the targets eventual death.
-channeling: i can't allow something completely ignores the rules, channeling requires immense focus. I would find it hard to focus, while my mind thinking about running and various other things in a combat scenario. This is why you always see people who are channeling (in video games or otherwise) standing/sitting still and if they are attacked (or their concentration is broken) the channel breaks. Again, if i allowed this, all he character would have to do is run/dodge attacks until their targets evetual death.
-Regeneration/siphoning: I'm not sure if i can agree with this ability. If i'm understanding this correctly, essentially (with the right dosage) it's a recipe for infinite casting w/o reprucussion. Sure it mentions that they could potentially pass out from over-use and major tissue degeneration, but how could it ever get to that point? From my understanding, all they need to do is tag a target and they're set because they're draining the targets energy to fuel their own. So as long as the target is alive, what is there to worry about? Not to mention the energy they've been storing, for only god knows how long.
My suggestion (to wrap this up because it's getting way long):
-I would take a look at DnD, Pathfinder or even video game abilites that don't sound super op. If you find something you like, use it or at least use the format. If it was me and i wanted to play around decay, with a similar idea as yours, i would have something like... (This is off the top of the head, so it's just a quick idea)
Death touch: The user slowly rots a target area
-To activate: Phsycial contact must be established by the users hand (or whatever)
-Ends when there is no more physical contact
Death Ball: User fires a necrotic ball that damages affected area (whatever the ball touched)
-Deal DoT (damage over time) and decays dealt area for x ammount of time
