【History】
Shio knew what her goal in life was at the early age of 5, deciding then she would be a doctor.

With unwavering dedication, she pursued her interest in the medical field. With her sharp mind, she was able to accelerate much of her training and gain special privilege to work directly under Sankage Ayameko by the age of 14.

Shio's primary focus is neurology, with a secondary specialty in surgery. Her steady hands and fine chakra control lead her to develop a series of techniques that increased the survival rate of all surgical procedures across the board by 35%, all by the age of 18. This is her source of her nickname as the Shadow Surgeon, given her preference to work in pitch dark.

It was at the age of 18 she would meet Kinuko, who she would eventually marry after a month. The two had determined that they would be appropriately compatible companions for a long term and that to delay any longer would only delay the necessary step of creating an offspring to carry on their skills. As such, within another month they had worked with Ayameko to develop a technique to allow the two women to have a child. Of course, neither wanted to bear the pregnancy so that service was outsourced to one of Shiō's cousins. The child, a son they named Tokiko, would be born still before Shiō's 19th birthday. Once born, the child was primarily in the care of Shiō's grandparents who adored the child.

However, believing the child was being spoiled too much and was lacking life experience at the age of 6 months, they gave the child to a wandering monk with a sheep they had just met the day before to allow him to have real life experience. They keep in contact with the child via letters which they expect responses from, but are yet to receive, straining the relationship they have with their son.

Shiō would take over the Medical Division at the age of 21 and continues in that role.

Shiō is a woman of many abilities. Exceptionally intelligent, with impeccable chakra control, Shiō's potential for growth is significant. She has a particular skill with Ninjutsu and exceptional sensory capabilities. While she does not currently practice the art of Genjutsu, she is capable of learning and preforming it well. She's necessarily agile, making her a difficult target, but lacks the raw speed of many of her Jounin counterparts. Additionally, she lacks any physical strength, making her entirely reliant on her other skills.

Shiō's knowledge of the human body, especially its nervous system, is immense. He teacher, Ayameko, was extremely skilled with genetics and herbalism, of which she has a fair amount of knowledge herself, with an expansive library of books on the subjects.

Shiō (and Kinuko) have received multiple awards for their parenting and are considered prime examples of great parents by the rest of the village - an often repeated phrase from people they interact with.



【Weapons, Tools and Equipment】

Shiō utilizes many standard items for a member of her clan, as well as a traditional shinobi. Her only unique weapons are the set of 10 Senbon that are capable of pinning a persons's shadow using Shadow Imitation Shuriken. She has a larger number of normal Senbon that are often utilized the poison an enemy if needed. Another unique item that she carries are small tubes of explosive powder.

Shiō also has a field medic kit. Additionally, she has a number of various herbal remedies, including some quick acting drugs to sedate a patient (or potentially an enemy), as well as some psychotropic drugs and paralytic toxins. Her most noted use of equipment is the generic weapon seal she placed on the back of her throat, which is capable of producing three things: short range cloud of poison that produces a fairly quick acting paralytic toxin. In small doses this will merely limited response times, but taking a breath in the cloud would result in paralysis after a few minutes, a series of poisoned senbon, and a smoke bomb like cloud to obscure an opponent's vision.

She also carries many standard shinobi supplies, such as explosive tags, flash and smoke bombs, wire, shuriken, and kunai.

However, in the case of the eye, some portion of either eye would have to be intact, or a partial transplant received in order to regrow a patient's eye. In technical theory, it is possible for this technique to be utilize to regrow an organ or body part without a base sample, but would require laboratory testing and genetic sampling to ensure the organ is created properly - things that are impractical in combat triage situations. This technique can be applied to the regrowth of limbs or other such appendages as well, but require an even greater amount of time to be fully functional.

【History】
Ayameko was born in the Land of Rivers, in a village outside of Tanigakure. She never aspired to become Tanikage, but events would push her down that path.

Her academy days were very uneventful. The Land of Rivers was small and it was easy for Ayameko to get the attention she needed from her teachers. She was far from a prodigy. Ayameko had to spend longer on much of her work, but what set her apart in her academy days was her work ethic and ingenuity. Ayameko's written submissions were always intriguing for her sensei, with the material she was discussing going far beyond her grade level and into heavily researched theory. It was Ayameko's refusal to settle for the expected or simple answer that made her one of the strongest graduates from Tanigakure.

Post academy, at 18, Ayameko pushed herself heavily into medical research, in particular genetics and neuroscience. It was unusual for a fresh out of academy Gennin to be working in that kind of advanced research. However, Ayameko made sure she was a useful part of the team, pushing herself to take on the hardest tasks she could in an effort to learn as much as she could. It would earn her a glowing recommendation for Chuunin and many accolades on her research on genetics and botanicals, in particular the creation of plants that produced certain natural instances of medicines for common diseases.

At 25, when out in the field, Ayameko would fall in love with a young Uchiha, Hatsuko, from the Land of Fire. Their romance was quite legendary and after two years, they married. However, Ayameko refused to leave the Land of Rivers, knowing her people needed her, especially giving the failing health of their current leader. The two would travel back and forth between their lands to see each other twice a month. This continued for the next eight years.

At 33, the bijuu appeared with little fanfare. The swift destruction of the Rain Country caught many offguard. After the Four Tails destroyed almost everything, the remnants of the Rain Country were joined by the forces from many of the other small nations, as well as the Land of Fire and Land of Earth. Together, they took a stand at the border of the Land of Wind and the Land of Rivers. The makeshift army was led by the current leader of the Land of Rivers and being already in poor health, he was quickly slain. The ancient relic of the Land of Rivers, said to have split the Ten Tails long ago, the Totsuka no Tsurugi, now lay on the ground with no wielder. Ayameko, no stranger to taking on the hardest tasks, picked up the weapon.

Quickly, she organized the now disorganized troops with the assistance of Hatsuko, eventually the combined effort of those involved were able to drive the Four Tails back.

Returning to Tanigakure, Ayameko was quickly ushered into the role as Tanikage. At first she refused the position, stating there were others with more combat experience, and better credentials than herself. However, she eventually relented to the people of the Land of Rivers and became their Tanikage. The next three years of her role as Tanikage consisted primarily of tracking down and sealing the remaining bijuu. This fostered a strong relationship with the Land of Fire. After sealing away all but two of the beasts, Ayameko would return to the Land of Fire for a council with the current Hokage, Hokage Shikata Kibō.

Once again, the beasts, along with fate, ushered her into a role she never intended to take. The Nine Tails, having spent much of its time destroying the outlying territories bordering the Land of Fire made a move on Konohagakure during the Council. Hokage Shikata Kibō and Ayameko took up arms against the beast. In the fight, Ayameko's right arm was ripped off, in an effort to prevent her from utilizing the Totsuka no Tsurugi. However, the sword was saved by a wandering monk, an ally from across the seas who had spent the last three years fighting bijuu with Ayameko. The Hokage, however, fared worse than her - losing his life in the battle with the creature. His soul returned to Yggdrasil, the historical selector of the leadership of the Land of Fire. Knowing the necessity of having a leader for the Land of Fire, Yggdrasil reached out to Ayameko in the battle and selected her as the Hokage. Invoking the power of the previous Hokage, Ayameko was able to open up the ground beneath the Nine Tails and suppress the beast long enough to allow the strange monk to deliver a strike to wound the beast enough to drive it back.

After the conflict, Ayameko's selection as Hokage was met with skepticism. Not only was she not a native to the Land of Fire, but she had position as another Kage. Hatsuko argued with the council on her behalf, eventually resulting in him resigning his position in frustration with the stubbornness of the leadership. A week after the destruction of Konoha, Ayameko was called in front of the very council she had come to the Land of Fire to meet - this time to debate the legitimacy of her leadership. After hours of receiving a verbal beating from the elders, Ayameko stood to leave, knowing she could not say anything to change their mind. However, knowing that its selection was being question, Yggdrasil reached out to the entire Land of Fire at once - something entirely unheard of. Blasted with mental images of her feats, and who she was as a person, the council, as well as the people relented.

Despite her advanced healing techniques, she could not recreate a flesh and blood arm for herself, the effects of the Kyuubi's removal of her arm preventing the regrowth needed. Hatsuko, now informed of Ayameko's pregnancy with twins, set out to the Mastersmith of the Land of Fire, Masazane Io. Combining their knowledge, Io and Ayameko were able to create an arm of metal that would respond to her will, much like her real arm would have. Seals at the end of her arm were placed to convert the signals from her nerve endings into understandable commands for the metal arm.

At 36, ten months after the events in the Land of Fire, Ayameko would give birth to twins - one boy, one girl. However, she would be immediately called away to battle another bijuu, hiding in the southeast of the Land of Fire, in territory once owned by the Land of Water. The battle should have been seemingly simple, but Hatsuko would be poisoned by the beast in the battle, a poison unlike anything Ayameko had encountered. Despite her best efforts, Ayameko was unable to create an anti-toxin capable of dealing with the effects of the bijuu's poison, Hatsuko dying within the month. Even worse, her son would be taken as well, both children exposed to the poison through their father. Ayameko, who also suffered, only survived due to her distant heritage as a Senju - giving her a remarkable life force. However, Ayameko was able to synthesize an anti-toxin in the month following Hatsuko's death which allowed her to save her daughter, Touzoku.

Despite all of the Tailed Beasts being driven back, their destruction was not easily recovered from. Many of the smaller nations had populations starving and suffering. Those with malicious intent often took advantage of these struggling lands, which made it even worse. With most on the bring of destruction, the smaller lands requested to join with the larger nations which were still able to support themselves. Ayameko, who would have been content with merely giving aid to these lands, knew that the Council would not provide aid without gaining territory. Ayameko would be forced to take on these new lands as a part of her recovering nation.

The years that followed were as chaotic as could be expected. Most of the nation's had significantly weakened military, making enforcement of anything nearly impossible. Equally difficult was Ayameko's Council, who had returned to opposing her leadership. In a surprise move, Ayameko removed the Council's authority by opening up elections for the Council - which had been historically appointed by the Hokage. Under her guidance, the Council was replaced with representatives from each of the Lands, most of which were their former Kage. This structure worked well for many years, and restoration efforts were able to be enacted with minimal opposition.

However, it could be argued the recovery was too successful. Seeing many of their old, native lands returning to prosperity, there was a call from some of the people for a return to independence. In an effort to unite the people, Ayameko remade her nation as Kyokujitsu no Tochi, making the Land of Fire merely a territory within it. Under this, a new government would be born and each territory would have equal chance of being having a leader selected. Each would present candidates to Yggdrasil when it came time to select the new Sankage. Ayameko moved the capital north, keeping Konohagakure as a city for the Land of Fire, as well as a memorial for what was lost. The new capital would become Kyokujitsugakure and would be considered independent from the territories, despite being in the confines of the Land of Fire.

Despite her efforts, the revolts were a potential catalyst for the First Shinobi War. The formal shinobi villages had just started to take shape and territory needed to be carved out formally - with force in some instances. The revolt within her own newborn nation had bled into pockets within the territory of other nations. Wars of independence waged at the same time as wars between the larger lands to define the borders of their lands. Ayameko had remained successful at avoiding conflict in many situations, resulting in her title of Gaikōkan (Diplomat). She managed to expand her nation to include Rivers, Iron, Rice, Hot Spring, and Tea.

In her 60s, Ayameko would fall in love again, to a Hyuuga man. They would marry, but his health would fail a decade later.

Ayameko continues in her role as Sankage.

Ayameko uses a taijutsu style reminiscent of the Hyuuga clan.



【Weapons, Tools Summons, and Equipment】

Name of Weapon or Item: Shokuyari [Planting Spear]
Description: Reforged from the shattered Totsuka no Tsrugi and the Makimasu, two blades of reputation. The power of the Shokuyari is the ability to affect being such as the bijuu, even when within the vessel of another individual. At full power, the spear can project an image into a vessel and remove the bijuu from it without killing them. The second effect is from the Makimasu, which allows Ayameko to sow her special seeds into objects she has cut or stabbed. It should be additionally noted the two crescent blades on the side of the spear can be detached and controlled with chakra.
Appearance: An ornate spear of great beauty. A variant of a bishamon yari, the Shokuyari has two crescent blades attached to the sides of the main double blade. These are unique in themselves in that part of the crescent is much thicker. When detached, these form a yin-yang symbol. While the metal from both blades was mixed, as well as their properties, a single circle in each crescent was preserved with the symbol for the original weapons on it. The shaft is made of a branch of Yggdrasil, polished white and is exceptionally durable.

Appearance and Effects: Ayameko's seeds can be placed into an individual, depending on the seed (trees cannot be placed in individuals), that will feed of their chakra while still following Ayameko's direction. Many of these plants grow within the confines of Kyokujitsugakure. Just outside the walls of the capital another ring of these plants can be found with the vines climbing the full height of the walls.

- Generic vining seed that is covered with thorns and leaves.
- A tree seed that constantly sprays Kirigakure no Jutsu in the area around it.
- A vining flower that releases a chemical that causes the eyes to water.
- A vining flower that can bond with other plants or areas under the effect of techniques to continue to supply them with energy by converting light into chakra. This chakra disperses if the flowers are destroyed and is forever lost. It cannot be pulled from the plant and used by any individual.
- A flower that can release a bright pulse of light akin to a flash tag towards the area it is pointing. This cannot be done up to 3 times per flower before it must bloom again, which requires additional chakra or at least 5 days time.
- White birch trees that provide a gate to Pure World for a specific person that has bonded with that tree. This allows the person to return upon activation of a the appropriate technique that creates a being under the effects of the IWR. The reincarnated individual can only operate within 50 feet of the tree. (Cannot Combine)
- A flowering plant that seals foreign chakra inside of itself and consumes what energy it can, either absorbed, or from the area around it or another individual, to duplicate itself until destroyed or forced to stop.
- Vining plant that, once embedded into to the flesh of an enemy produces a constant Genjutsu of their own chakra. Can be removed before it takes full effect, or by others once fully formed. Seed must be placed within the victim. The Genjutsu is a highly advanced technique that continues to play out the battle they were in within their own mind. This seed actively seeks out to bind itself with the nervous system of the individual, especially loves engaging directly into the brain. (Cannot Combine)
- Water lily that has the effects of the Byakugan that assigned individuals can tap into. (Cannot Combine)
- A special flower that when used mimics the traits of an individual it has made contact with (or part of them). This plant will react to the chakra signature of that person and glow faintly when they are within 5 miles of it.
- A flower that produces a neurotoxin. The stem has many thorns that secrete the toxin in addition to the potential of inhaling it when too close to the flower or when a large number of them are in a group together. A single scratch from a thorn or a single breath from a single flower will cause complete paralysis in about 5 minutes. Continued exposure to the toxin will obviously lower this requirement.

Name of Summon: Yggdrasil
Description: Yggdrasil is sentient tree of significant power. Yggdrasil is perpetually in a state of Sage Mode, giving it access to vast sums of power and utilize a number of its own abilities. Yggdrasil has a naturally purifying effect to energies it absorbs and it is considered to have a boundless ability to store energy within its body (it merely grows to accommodate more energy). Using either energy it has gathered or stored, Yggdrasil can project a massive barrier around a wide area around it in an instant. Additionally, as a countermeasure, Yggdrasil can disrupt the formation of jutsu within its field of control by infusing an individual or technique with natural energy. Yggdrasil's sensory capabilities are profound enough that it can sense the intent of those near it and actively negates many offensive techniques within its bounds. The exclusion being those with a special tag system. Yggdrasil has the ability, as well, to filter light to allow it to pass unhindered to the ground below it.

Yggdrasil forms a specialized bond with a singular individual who runs the village of Kyokujitsu no Tochi. The user is granted the ability to use Mokuton as well as maintain their link to the tree across infinite distances (even if they cannot access its power from that range). When a bonded individual dies, their spirit is retained within the tree itself (which partially spans into the Pure World), allowing former Kage to communicate with the current one (providing unique circumstances preventing this). The ability to store a spirit or form is not limited to bonded individuals either.

Yggdrasil can communicate with individuals, primarily through images. A select few are capable of understanding it on a deeper level. Those individuals also can utilize Yggdrasil's energy to support their own techniques once enhancing that link.
Appearance: A large tree over 1500 feet tall with massive boughs that can cover the entire village.
Weaknesses: Unlike most summons, Yggdrasil is incapable of moving. Despite its immense power, it has no offensive capabilities of its own and is disrupting to allies forming offensive techniques within its bounds (excluding those with specialized tags). Description: Shizen muchitsujo no hakai: Seimei to sono yōso no haichi is an advanced sealing technique of Ayameko known only to her. Essentially the effect of the technique is to create fuuinjutsu effects through the arrangement of earth, water, and plants, which is knowledge known only to the sealer. This creates a physical seal that is not only able to blend in with natural environments, but creates a difficult to diffuse seal due to the natural properties of the seal. Additionally, the seals tend to gain power the longer the exist, seeming to draw on natural energies to sustain and strengthen themselves. Furthermore, many of the seals are malleable in their form, but not in effect, also making them challenging to counter.
Weakness: The initial creation of a seal created through this technique can be exhausting depending on how it is implemented. Creating a large seal over a large area from a single location is exhausting. However, using a seal over a smaller area is only a decent drain on chakra. For large scale seals, Ayameko, or people Ayameko trusts, are dispatched to help set up the seal via scrolls, making it much more cost effective.

Description: An extremely advanced application of the Mystical Palm developed over the years of research by Ayameko and Shiō, essentially allowing a well-trained medical shinobi the ability to create stem cells in varying quantities. An example application would be a severely damaged eye, allowing the cells to replace the damaged portion, restoring full sight. However, in the case of the eye, some portion of either eye would have to be intact, or a partial transplant received in order to regrow a patient's eye. In technical theory, it is possible for this technique to be utilize to regrow an organ or body part without a base sample, but would require laboratory testing and genetic sampling to ensure the organ is created properly - things that are impractical in combat triage situations. This technique can be applied to the regrowth of limbs or other such appendages as well, but require an even greater amount of time to be fully functional.
Weakness: Requires not only massive chakra from the medic-nin, but also constant chakra to sustain the cells as they transition to their new roll. In the cases of large cell creations, it can be weeks before a body part is considered fully functional.

Additionally, this is often used for medical procedures to numb pain.

The technique also can work in reverse at short contact range, coagulating a wound within seconds. At increased chakra cost to both techniques, this can also be applied to chakra scalpels.

Yuki Clan

Hierarchy and Focus: The Yuki clan is one of the oldest clans from the Land of Fire. They are guardians of the ancient relic known as the Gensho and have an innate ability with the written word. They are gifted with detailed and creative minds, making them skilled with not only their clan's signature techniques which utilize writing and paper techniques, but quite adept at utilizing Genjutsu.

The Yuki clan is run by the oldest member of the clan that has completed all of the Rites of Passage and has read from the Gensho.
History: The Yuki clan itself was formed before the Sage as a group dedicated to the preservation of information. One of the first groups to develop a very formal language, the clan utilized the the abilities gained through the revelations of the Sage to enhance their ability to preserve information. The clan actually shrank due to the sacrifice of the members to craft the Gensho itself.

After crafting the book, and realizing the full extent of its power, the Yuki clan stayed within a small area in the Land of Fire. Fearful of those that might take the book, as well as members of their own clan that might tell others about the book. Thus, they developed a very unique set of techniques to guard the Gensho from not only outsiders, but those within the clan who may misuse it. However, much of the safeguards were not needed given the reverence the clan members had for the book.

It was noted early on in the years after the Gensho that no Yuki clan member lived past their 150th year. It would be later researched that it was due to their connection with the Gensho that caused their very static lifespan. It is theorized by the clan, that if a child was not exposed to the Gensho at all, they would theoretically be able to life past 150. However, the clan's obsession with the book has left this theory completely untested even hundreds of years later.
Misc: Many clan members chose to read large sums of the Gensho when they fall into ill health or to end their lives peaceful. By careful, methodical timing, this results in a very peaceful end to the Yuki clan member's life.

Masazane Clan

Clan Name: Masazane
Country of Origin: Land of Iron
Hierarchy and Focus: The Masazane clan hierarchy is determined through a yearly test of skill and overall commerce. Heralded as some of the best smiths in the world, the Masazane clan has a gift with the shaping of metal.

Clan leadership is determined by whichever members of the clan has the most verified sales of weapons or by any individual who has completed a work of superb caliber. After those members are identified, they are faced with forging a sword for a champion of their choice in a contest known as the Tetsu no Shōtotsu [Clash of Iron]. The winner, by either through defeating an opponent or by breaking the sword of the opposing champion, becomes leader of the clan. Lethal attacks are considered a violation of the rules of the current Tetsu no Shōtotsu, but this is has only been the rules for the last few years.
History: The Masazane clan are a small, yet widespread clan that is noted for their ability to produce weapons.

Originally from the Land of Iron, the Masazane are an old clan and have forged weapons for the samurai from the land for their entire existence. Smithwork in the Land of Iron was considered exceptionally noble, and much like nobles trade marry off children to other royals, the early smiths of the Masazane clan used their children to form connections with other smiths.

One smith, whose original name was long forgotten, was said to have had so many sons and to have made the most legendary weapons, that he was only referred to by his surname. Owning a weapon of the smith Masazane, or being married into his family (to be able to put the Masazane stamp on their productions), was considered an badge of honor. After awhile, all of the smith families within the Land of Iron were related.

Once the original Masazane died, leadership of the family fell into chaos. It was proposed by Masazane's third son that they determine who is to lead the clan through the Tetsu no Shōtotsu. It was not unheard of in the early days for this to be a bloody affair with assassinations of smiths and champions alike. After the first Tetsu no Shōtotsu, leadership of the clan fell to Masazane's fifth son, Ito, who was considered to be almost as skilled as his father.

Ito would run the Masazane in the longest reign of the clan for over 63 years. It was during Ito's reign that the Sage changed the world. With the heavy relation to a singular bloodline, many of the Masazane developed the ability to manipulate steel through a kekkei genkai known as Kōton, using a mixture of the fire and earth elements. It was also not unheard of for members to develop Jiton either in addition to Kōton or as a solitary alternative.

After the reign of Masazane Ito, leadership of the clan fell once again into disarray with leadership cycling repeatedly through a series of smiths that were closely matched between each other. Each year, the one currently in power would lose to one of the smiths he had defeated the year before.

It would not be for over a hundred years before the leadership would yet again stabilize. However, this stabilization of leadership would continue to the reign of Masazane Io, who has lead the clan for the last 62 years. Io is often considered the reincarnation of the original founder of their clan with near unrivaled skill in the forging of weapons and the manifestation of both Jiton and Kōton at a high level. This is often considered because of Io's great number of male heirs.

With the creation of Kyokujitsu no Tochi, many members of the clan have spread themselves out to other territories within their nation. Smiths who stay in the Land of Iron often look down on these members are trying to escape the significant competition within their historical homeland for the Tetsu no Shōtotsu and qualify through sales in another land where the smiths are less skilled. The clan itself, despite its age, is relatively small.
Misc: While rare, some Masazane do forge weapons for themselves for the Tetsu no Shōtotsu. Most members of the clan fall under competent or skilled with a weapon. For the Tetsu no Shōtotsu most form relationships with kenjutsu masters.

It is said some still participate in an underground version of the Tetsu no Shōtotsu known as the Ketsueki no Shōtotsu [Clash of Blood] as a form of gambling or a way to display power between Tetsu no Shōtotsu.

Description: A peculiar weapon. On appearance, the weapon seems to be a rather ordinary staff. Those that are aware will note the bit of chalk on the end of each tip of the staff. The additional note is the staff is actually a sheath for two blades. Then twisted at the center by Shiori, the staff reveals the two blades that can be drawn from it. The excess portion of the staff falls to the ground leaving a straight edged sword with a bit of chalk at the end of the handle. Shiori is capable of keeping the weapon in staff form and switching the blades to the end of the staff through activation of a seal, rather than keeping the standard chalk tips. The last is the ability to release chalk dust in a cloud around the user.
Appearance: A simple polished red staff.

Name of Weapon or Item: Gensho
Description: The ancient relic of the Yuki clan. The Gensho is an exceptionally powerful book that contains every piece of written information ever. The reason the Gensho is so rarely used is that to use the full extent of its power, the user must pay with a portion of their life. This requirement is waived providing the written material is already stored within the Yuki clan library. However, when they are looking for material that is not contained within their stores, they pay with time off their life. Even for beings of immortality, this is scaled to the Yuki clan's lifepsan. Should someone end themselves using the Gensho, the book consumes their body and soul. Each are sent to separate, unique versions of Naraka created by the book. These levels of Naraka have no limit to the time they are contained.

The specific cost of the Gensho is varied based on what information is being retrieved. No instance of gained knowledge on a singular page can surpass 1 year. Only Yuki clan members can effectively read the book due to the seals inscribed onto its cover by the clan itself.

Note: Shiori also has chalk that can be released from her hands and feet when she makes contact with an opponent.



【Kekkei Genkai/Tota】

Clan: Yuki Clan
Description: This kekkei genkai provides the Yuki clan member with access to a variety of skills related to the written word. While the Yuki clan members do possess a standard elemental chakra nature, they are also aligned with the usage of Onmyōton. Most clan members can only access one half of the Onmyōton natures, the Yin half. Only those that have mastered the kekkei genkai can begin tapping into their full power.

The first ability that usually manifests in the Yuki clan is the ability to read exceptionally fast, memorize the words flawlessly, and utilize the information through what is essentially a form of rapid self-genjutsu. The ability to learn from written material is not limited to non-fiction either. Yuki clan members can learn skills from works of fiction as well, such as reading detailed stories of martial artists.

The second ability that usually manifests in the Yuki clan member is the ability to bond with a writing medium. Yuki clan members are considered to be no longer children once they have read 200,000 books. At this time, they are presented with a number of writing mediums (ink, graphite, charcoal, chalk, etc). These mediums are specially crafted by the clan and have unique traits once they bond with the clan member. Unsurprisingly, Yuki clan members are also naturally bonded with paper produced specially by the clan. Sheets are paper, however, are not considered a part of the growth of a clan member given their exposure to it at a young age. Most Yuki clan children can bend the paper to their will by the age of 2 to the extent they can make a sheet of paper into an airplane and make it fly around the room.

The next stage of the Yuki clan's power is the ability to read the Gensho, a legendary book kept under close guard by the clan. The Gensho is presented on their birthday after they have bonded with their medium. While they do not read the Gensho at this time, they look for a reaction from the book.

A Yuki clan member is considered to be fully a member once they have created a masterpiece work. Some Yuki clan members do not finish this work, due to their strict personal and clan quality requirements, until they are over 50 years of age.

Yuki clan members have a natural lifespan of exactly 150 years.

Kei inherited her father's naivety. Outgoing and always looking for the positive, Kei can be abrasive to some, including her more reserved siblings. She's the closest with her father. Of her siblings, she is closest with Tokumei.

【History】
Kei is the third of Suishou and Shadan's children, boring less than a minute before her brother Morainaki.

Kei, even during the shinobi war, was always a bright and happy child. Her parents were actually grateful when she showed completely no talents compared to her siblings. In all, Kei would be considered an average child with a bright disposition.

However, it was precisely her disposition that granted her the powers she has. While on one of her summer trips with her father, Kei encountered a wild bear that attacked her while Shadan was off gathering firewood for the evening campfire. At a merely 11 years old, with only rudimentary skills at defending herself, Kei was helpless. It was this fate that brought Kei and Saegiru together. Unable to outrun the bear, and her father outside the range of her call, Kei froze against a tree in fear, crying for anyone to help her. Saegiru, a translucent golden guardian lion, rushed to Kei, bonding himself spiritually to the girl and manifested a powerful barrier around her. Despite as the bear tried, he could not break down Kei's barrier. The bear tired itself out, just as Shadan returned and was scared off (as the bear was smaller than Shadan and intimidated).

Once back in the village, Kei finally told her father precisely what had happened - or more accurately, Saegiru did. Communicating in unison with Kei, he explained that he had bonded with the girl in an effort to protect her from the bear, further explaining that he had once guarded a temple on an island far away from their lands as a part of a pair. However, when the temple was destroyed, as well as his companion, Saegiru fled the island and sought haven elsewhere. Saegiru explained that Kei's aura reminded him of his companion.

Kei was taken to Ayameko for examination. There, Kei communicated for the first time with the tree Yggdrasil, who recognized the spirit that now called Kei's body home. It was then, as well, Kei was given access to the Kyokujitsu no Hikari, a synthetic kekkei tota developed by Yggdrasil, Ayameko, and Chiyoko. She was told to return to the tree each day for specialized training as the direct assistant to the Sankage herself.

Kei's life has not changed much over the years since the incident and she continues in her role as direct assistant to the Sankage.

Compared to her siblings, Kei would be the weakest of the individuals if she had not been chosen to be the vessel for the synthetic kekkei tota created by Yggdrasil and the being Saegiru. With them, Kei is nearly as powerful as her big sister Kasaki who is innately gifted in the art of ninjutsu.

Kei's unique trait, a gift of the creature Saegiru, is how bonded her chakra is with not only the creature, but itself as well. Unlike most beings, Saegiru does not boost the chakra pool for her to draw on, but does alter how her chakra behaves. This pairs with Kei's only trait native to herself - a natural skill with barrier ninjutsu.

Like her brother Tokumei, Kei has only basic training in certain shinobi arts. She is only slightly better than Tokumei had hand to hand combat, who, of the siblings, is the worst hand to hand combat fighter of them all. Additionally, she is unable to utilize Genjutsu, but likewise, many are difficult to utilize on her due the presence of Saegiru.

Kei has enough training in fuuinjutsu that she is capable of constructing her own sealing techniques.

Name of Kekkei Genkai: Tsune Shōmei [Endless Illumination]

Description: Saegiru is a bonded spirit that makes its home inside of Kei. Saegiru, who is exceptionally close with Kei grants her the ability to use an advanced form of Katon and Raiton known as Shōmeiton [Illumination Release]. As a secondary effect, Saegiru's nature forms is highly 'bonded', making Kei's chakra hard to overwhelm and her barriers difficult to break. Unfortunately, this can make certain techniques more difficult to use - techniques such as most standard Katon techniques, forcing her to rely on her Yagamiton for any similar effects. Tsune Shōmei also manifests itself as an 'automatic' defense system for Kei in the event she is unable to do so by manifesting himself physically out of her body, typically as a shield. The final ability of Saegiru is his ability to assist Kei in molding chakra, which allows her to bypass the need for handsigns for a number of her techniques. However, both the types of techniques he can assist with, as well as the frequency on each technique is limited.

Description: The Assistant to the Sankage is gifted with a unique and powerful affinity to three elements, each of which creates a small "sun" made of the correspondingly coloured chakra around the user. Sshe is able to effortlessly keep all three suns of all three elements floating around her at all times. The first sun is made of Katon chakra, and glows with a brilliant orange light. The Katon sun, being made of pure Katon chakra, will burn whatever it touches and is able to utilise the power of Katon chakra. The second sun is made of Suiton chakra, and glows with a brilliant blue light. The Suiton sun's light nourishes those it comes into contact with, and has the power to extinguish Katon jutsu. The final sun is made of Doton chakra, and is a dull yellow. Its light permeates the ground and alters its composition, allowing the user to affect terrain. The main source of the Kekkei Tota's power is its ability to combine the various lights to blend their effects, as well as controlling vast areas of terrain with the suns. The user of this Kekkei Tota is able to use all three elemental affinities with great proficiency, by channeling their jutsu through the light of the suns.

Description: Similar to the Rasengan, Kei forms after a few seconds, then launches what looks like a sphere of light. These spheres have a 30 foot aura around them in all directions which pulses inward to the center of the sphere. This aura will attempt to pull those caught by it towards the center of the sphere, with the pull dependent on the amount of chakra put into the orb (this is also strongest the closer to the center). The orbs explode upon impact with a solid object, or upon Kei's will. Kei does not need to detonate the orbs and can merely suspend them in the air at any location within 30 feet of herself. The explosive radius of the spheres is dependent on the amount of chakra she puts into it and has a maximum of 15 feet.
Weakness: The damage of the technique is highest when an enemy is closest to the center of the sphere. Those caught by the outskirts of the technique will only minor damage. The pull of the sphere can be overcome by most Jounin level shinobi of decent physical capability, but will slow their speed within the confines of the sphere's aura.

Description: Kesshō Shōmei is one of Kei's 'ultimate' techniques. Kei forms a thin line of energy between her hand, or hands, and an endpoint. After a brief moment, the line will erupt outwards in a radius of about 3 meters. If she commits extra energy to the technique, she can fill an extra meter out with numerous arcs of lightning. The destructive power of this technique should not be underestimate and is capable of easily and quickly melting extremely thick steel. Kei can actually fire two separate Kesshō Shōmei at the same time, but halves the power and eruption range of the initial beam.
Weakness: Exceptionally high chakra cost, especially if used at maximum range. When using at shorter ranges, the cost of the technique is significantly reduced.

The technique releases a massive burst of chakra from their body, much like the Hyuuga are capable of doing. However, unlike the Hyuuga, the chakra creates an aura around their body similar to Kagayaku Tokui-ten (radius is reduced to 20 feet). The aura presists as long as Kei commits chakra to it.
Weakness: While potent, Denryoku Sāji cannot be used on the same person within 30 seconds, nor can Kei preform handsigns while maintaining the aura (she can use techniques without them though).

Additionally, whenever the light from a Red and Blue sun mix, they transform into Purple Light. All allies within the Purple light are hidden from traditional sensing, and their chakra is completely negated outside of the light. Even the Byakugan and Sharingan’s sight cannot penetrate the Purple light. Enemies standing in the light, however, are harshly revealed and can be seen clearly by all allies.
Weakness: Giving elements to an ally removes the elements from Kei. The Purple light’s effect only lasts for up to 30 seconds in combat (indefinitely out of combat) and is somewhat chakra intensive. The purple light’s effects do not work on those that they have recently worked upon, equal to the amount of time that the light affected them.

Additionally, whenever the light from a Yellow and Blue sun mix, they transform into Green Light. All allied life within the Green light is bolstered by its presence. Life in the Green light will propagate more quickly, and individual cells are, with the application of small amounts of chakra, unable to die. When more chakra is fed into the green light, healing is accelerated to the point that wounds will naturally recover at a fast pace, and cells are able to reproduce at an even more potent rate, allowing organs to be developed should sufficient cells and chakra, as well as a medical-nin, be present. Enemies in the Green light have their natural healing reduced, and wounds become more severe over time as they remain in the Green light. This process, however, is mind-numbingly slow.

Allies in the Orange light, however, have their chakra bolstered by the chakra sapped from enemies, making it looser and easier to control.

Description: Initially, Kei fuses all three of her suns into a single globe of white light. This white sun burns everything except Kei and her allies with intense radiation for as long as it exists, as well as combining the effects of all of the suns.

Eien no Hikari is activated by kneading a percentage of her total chakra into any of her suns, she channels its light into a devastating beam, 2 meters in radius and a mile long (at maximum range).

The ray of light’s colour and effect vary depending on the suns that Eien no Hikari is used with:

Red Sun - 10% - The Red Sun’s beam is a devastating torrent of heat and kinetic energy, knocking back and scorching anything that it comes into contact with. Few things can survive the Red Sun’s light for very long due to the heat exhaustion. However, the effectiveness of the beam rapidly deteriorates over time. Lasts for 10 seconds.

Blue Sun - 10% - The Blue Sun’s beam is much shorter than the other beams, reaching only half a mile in maximum length. The Blue Sun’s light heals all allies within it, as well as aiding their natural chakra production and manipulation for a brief period. All friendly chakra-based constructs in the beam are vastly empowered for its duration. Lasts for up to 30 seconds.

Yellow Sun - 10% - The Yellow Sun’s beam takes on the effect of dust release, but only affects buildings and the ground and such - humans are completely unaffected. Lasts for 15 seconds.

Orange Sun - 20% - The Orange Sun’s beam destroys unfriendly chakra at a much quicker rate than the light does, making it exceptionally dangerous for Shinobi to stand in. Lasts for 10 seconds.

Green Sun - 20% - The Green Sun’s beam accelerates the growth of all plants it touches massively, giving them such increased growth that they are easily able to grow to three or four times their normal size. Allied humans in the beam also receive a massive wave of life energy, immediately healing them quite considerably.

Purple Sun - 20% - The Purple Sun’s beam bends the light around all allies and concentrates it around all enemies, lasting for a significant amount of time after the beam has ended. Allies are completely hidden from all sensing techniques, as well as sight. Enemies are harshly revealed, becoming noticeable to anybody in the immediate area.

White Sun - 60% - The white sun’s beam kills all life it comes into contact with if contact with the light is maintained for at least 5 seconds. 7 seconds is required to kill people. The ground is left barren and scorched, all buildings in its radius crumble to dust and all water is removed from the area. This final attack dissipates the sun, and shows the true devastating power of Kei’s Kekkei Tota. Lasts for 15 seconds.
Weakness: Requires a period of intense preparation to merge the three suns. / Requires a vast amount of chakra and concentration. The user is immobile and unable to take any other actions while channeling the light.

Kyokujitsu no Tochi

History: Despite how young the nation is compared to many of the other global powers, Kyokujitsu no Tochi has a rich history that intertwines a variety of cultures. The Land of Fire was established well before the first Shinobi war and only fell due to destruction from the bijuu which claimed the lives of many people across many of the territories that comprise the nation as a whole. Because of that destruction, Ayameko was able to establish a new nation that banded together those struggling and remade the lands into a nation of surprising prosperity.

Much of the history of the nation is due to the efforts of the Sankage who developed the idea of the national structure and executed it by significant diplomatic efforts. Despite being selected as the leader of the Land of Fire as a non-native, a nation that still had significant power after the destructive forces of the bijuu, she was able to guide its people to accept that not only would they be stronger if they worked together, but they could maintain their national pride.

Kyokujitsu no Tochi is over 30 years old.

Geography: Kyokujitsu no Tochi is one of the most diverse geographical landscapes, spanning from the cold northern territories to the tropical southern lands. Largely flat, Kyokujitsu no Tochi only has incredible terrain changes in the west and north, where it runs into the mountains dividing them from the Lands of Earth and Wind in the west, and the Land of Lightning in the North. It does, however, have a small section of mountains in its most northern most territory.

Plantlife is abundant in Kyokujitsu no Tochi, with a wide range of crops. The open plains scattered throughout are often utilized for agriculture

Specifically around Kyokujistugakure, however, the terrain is arrange very specifically. A network of small rivers filled with floating lilies creates a natural looking moat miles away from the outskirts of the walls. From the air, these are obscured by the thick forest of trees planted specifically by the village. Further out from that, there are a series of mountains on the western side, which span from the Land of Iron to just above the southern coast. These mountains run along the border of the original Land of Fire.

Religion: Kyokujitsu no Tochi is actually a highly spiritual nation. Temples of various beliefs can be found within the city with major shrines scattered throughout the lands. Very notably are the Temples of Fuujin and the Temple of Fire. With the influx of a few members from Tsukigakure, even more religions are mixing into the diverse beliefs of the people of Kyokujitsugakure.

Politics: Kyokujitsugakure is run predominantly by the Sankage who is selected by the tree Yggdrasil. However, each original territory within the confines of Kyokujistu no Tochi (Tea, Noodles, Rivers, Grass, Iron, Rice, Hot Springs, and Wave) has representation on the Council. While each territory is overseen by the Sankage, they do allow significant flexibility in the self-governing of many of the local functions of the territory. In fact, the only time the Sankage would step in would be when the rights of the citizens overall were being affected.

The selection of the Sankage is a surprisingly simple process. At the passing of current Sankage, or when they opt to retire, candidates selected by each territory are brought to the tree and among them the tree selects those that it deems most worthy to lead the nation.

Clan List:

Masazane
The Masazane clan is a historical staple in the Land of Iron. Noted for their manipulation of metal, they have served the village as smiths of unique and powerful weapons. Many have immigrated from their historical homeland into the capital.

Yuki
The Yuki clan is charged with keeping records for the Land of Fire. They run the Omoide no Kinko-shitsu, the library for Kyokujitsu no Tochi. They posses incredible memories and information retrieval within the library.

Uchiha
Wielders of the Sharingan, the Uchiha provide Kyokjitsu no Tochi with the bulk of its Intel forces and military police.

Hyuuga
The Hyuuga is the second oldest clan in Kyokujitsu no Tochi and its members have access to the Byakugan. Many members of the Hyuuga clan join the Senkensha, a sensory division for Kyokujitsu no Tochi.

Senju
The clan of the Shodai Hokage, noted for its ability to utilize the Mokuton nature, given to it by the tree Yggdrasil. They are the oldest clan in Kyokujitsu no Tochi and have exceptional reverence for Yggdrasil. The largest percentage of Kages for the Land of Fire have come from this clan. There are only a few members of this clan still around.

Nara
The Nara clan is well known throughout Kyokujitsu no Tochi. Keepers of the Hiden that allows the manipulation of Shadows, Nara clan members work in a variety of roles throughout the village. Noted for their cleverness and ingenuity, they are well respected.

Focus: As diverse as their geography, Kyokujitsu has numerous strengths because of that diversity. A wide range of exports are available for the nation allowing them to trade away many of their excess goods while requiring few themselves. As such, much of the economy within the nation is home produced goods. The large amount of land available for agriculture, with high quality soil and diverse climates, gives them the framework to support a large population. Significant resource of the nation are put into research.

Places of Note:

Kokumin Toshokan [National Library] - A part of the Yuki clan compound and residing close to the center of the capital, quite close to Yggdrasil as well as the Sankage's compound. As such, it is along the ornate gardens that are especially common at the city center.

Hansha no Genkan [Halls of Reflection] - A specialized building that serves multiple purposes. One of the most beautiful buildings in the capital, it is a single story rectangular building. Aside from the very center, which is a square, the building has open air covered walkways and floats on top of a large pond filled with lily flowers. What makes the building unique and important are the specialized mirrors within the center hall. These mirrors allow an individual to see their reflection as if they had a doujutsu similar to the Byakugan. This building serves both the Medical Corps, as well as the Research Division. It also serves as an advanced training building for many.

Temples of Fuujin and Fire - While these can be found throughout the nation. The main temple sits outside the capital walls between the mountain range on the west. The Temple of Fuujin, as well as the Temple of Fire share the solitary mountain separated from the range that lies between the cities. The Temple of Fire looks east, while the Temple of Fuujin looks west. Both have smaller shrines scattered as well as major temples with the capital itself. These serve as training facility for many specialized disciplines.

Research Compound - There is a large research compound near the Sankage's facility. This building is actually directly connected and spans multiple stories both above and beneath the ground. Many people who serve as advisors to the Sankage work directly within this building or the compound.

Boughs and Roots of Yggdrasil - There is, in fact, two additional 'places' of note within the capital city. At the center of Yggdrasil there is a place where the roots have specifically grown in a way to allow a flat surface within the branches of the tree. Few people are allowed to access this area and it is restricted mostly to the Sankage or those with specially permission from Ayameko herself.

The Roots of Yggdrasil are another location and connect directly to the Research Compound and consists of multiple rooms. This, as well, is a highly restricted location used for advanced research in conjunction as serving as a safe room for the villagers in times of great peril. Tokumei's specialized facility is actually within the Roots of Yggdrasil.

Divisions:

While many activities are directed by the Sankage herself, or the Council, much of general management of various shinobi is done directly by their division leaders, who either report to the head of another division or to the Sankage or Council. Should the Sankage and Council be killed, leadership then falls to the had of Senjutsu-tekina [Tactical Division]. In the event that is not possible, the leadership follows the following chain: Medical Corps, ANBU, Eternal Watch, Sensory Division, Research Division, and Barrier Division.

Iryō-tai [Medical Corps] Lead by: Nara Shiō - Trains and dispatches medical shinobi within the nation as well as abroad in times of great need by allies.

ANBU [Military Intelligence] Lead by: --- - Formerly run by Touzoku, the daughter of Ayameko, ANBU serves as a specialized organization within the village designed for missions. Reports to Tactical Division.

Root [Research Division] Lead by: Nara Shiō - Preforms research into new techniques with a strong focus in defensive and medical techniques.

Senkensha [Sensory Division] Lead by: Nara Shiō - Maintains any large scale sensory techniques as well as responds to requests from other divisions in dispatching shinobi within this division.

Senjutsu-tekina [Tactical Division] Lead by: Nara Kakugyō- Serves as the military as strategists for single operations to full scale wars and sieges.

Kekkaisetsu [Barrier Division] Lead by: Yūdai Kei - Establishes many of the rules governing access to the capital as well as maintaining and establishing barrier techniques in times of war. Reports to Tactical Division.

Yusōsetsu [Transport Division] Lead by: --- - Maintains and supplies chakra to the transport system for Kyokujitsu no Tochi. Those within this division generally have high chakra pools and exceptional control. Many lacking in practical combat abilities serve the nation within this division. Reports to Tactical Division.

Yotogi no Eien [Eternal Watch] Lead by: Akaritori - Maintains order within the various cities o Kyokujitsu no Tochi with their center operating within the capital. They work closely with the various other military branches in times of crisis. Reports to Tactical Division during times of crisis.
