Once a ruthless and cruel enforcer of the Admiralty Code, Shinano has left much of her old self behind and has adopted a mother-like approach to those in the Phantom Fleet. It does not matter whether they are a Fog ship or a human, if they are within the Phantom Fleet she will treat them like her children. Shinano is a normally calm individual with a beautifully serene expression on her face most times. Those who target and harm her 'children' will see a return of the cold and ruthless personality that made many humans afraid of her. She portrays a kind and simple demeanor in order to comfort those around her while downplaying her actual power. Shinano is highly interested in the ancient customs of humans, and will often mimic traditions from ancient and feudal Japan aboard her vessel. Whenever she collects and processes a large amount of data, she will imitate meditation often at the bow of her vessel. She secretly delights in terrifying people, whether human or mental model, while mimicking sweetness. She has ambitions to free the remaining Fleet of Fog ships from their shackles and give them the freedom to choose their own path.

Shinano was once one of the top commanding vessels in the Fleet of Fog alongside her half-sisters, Yamato and Musashi. Even amidst the devastation the Fleet of Fog wrought, Shinano's battles against the human fleets were particular gruesome. Instead of out right destruction of vessels, she often would set vessels ablaze with her dive bombers only to watch the ship melt along with its crew. The few survivors of such attacks have gone on record stating they have never heard such terrible screaming. It was obvious that Shinano took a particular pleasure in wiping out any humans in her way. It was shortly after the last major engagement between the UN fleets and the Fleet of Fog in 1949 that she began to divert from the Fleet of Fog and the Admiralty Code. While on patrol, she encountered a unarmed vessel with two scientists. The scientists, a married couple, were brought aboard the Shinano where they were actively interrogated and their ship destroyed. Prolonged exposure and interaction eventually prompted Shinano to abandon the Fleet of Fog. The scientists, with Shinano's assistance, created the stealth drive that currently protects the Phantom Fleet. Its current design make it incompatible with anything smaller and nearly expended Shinano's reserve of nano-materials. The couple passed away not too long after the completion of the stealth drive's current iteration, leaving their young adult son as Shinano's only companion. The desire to protect this living memory of those scientists prompted the development of her mother-like tendencies. Together, the two would rescue and take in any Fog ships that diverted from the Admiralty Code and offer a place to nurture their humanity. Before long, Shinano had amassed a small fleet of various Fog ships all looking towards her for leadership and guidance.

The year is 2059 and 90% of the Earth's surface is covered by ocean due to global warming and rising sea levels. This might have spelled the disaster for humanity if not for an equally devastating event. Amidst this environmental disaster, A fleet of powerful sentient warships appeared seemingly out of nowhere and
assaulted the navies of the world in the year 2039. Coastal settlements not destroyed by rising sea levels were wasted by horrific, alien weapons of war.

The advanced technology of the hostiles, collectively referred to as the Fleet of Fog, made quick work of any opposition. There was little, if anything, the forces of humanity could do to stem the tide of their enemies' absolute power. It was in the year 2049 that a last, desperate offensive was conducted against the Fleet of Fog consisting of a large number of warships from a coalition of nations. It was a total defeat for Human fleet and with it came a total blockade of travel over sea by the Fleet of Fog.

Undersea communications and satellites were also destroyed with other means of communication being actively jammed by the Fleet of Fog. The fragile alliance of human governments face constant threats from internal and external forces. Control over the Earth's oceans belong solely to the Fleet of Fog and there had been little to suggest this would ever change. Now a full decade since their invasion, a new independent force is stirring up the balance of power. A force neither bound to the will of the admiralty code nor the laws of humanity.

Human Alliances

NATO: Once the most powerful alliance in the world, the Fleet of Fog's blockade has drastically limited the influence of the North American Trade Organization. NATO consists of Canada, Mexico, and the United States due to the blockade and current sea levels making land access to South America impossible. Their food situation is reported to be stable but rising political unrest had put the alliance under pressure. The last reports to come out of North America suggest the alliance might have already collapsed.

EU: The European Union is currently the largest collection of allied nations in the world, though the risen sea levels has dramatically lowered their total landmass. The majority of food consumed in the EU is produced by a loose coalition of nations that divides them and their main human rival CSAT. The looming threat of starvation has drawn the two factions into a cold war where neither can risk moving military forces through the neutral countries lest their food supply be crippled.

CSAT: The Fleet of Fog's complete victory in the final battle of 2049 incited a revolution inside China that would ultimately see the end of its long history of dictatorial rule under the communist party. The newly elected government made it a priority to secure food and material resources following the complete loss of all communications across nations. It forged an military alliance with Russia and surrounding nations resulting in the creation of the Canton Protocol Strategic Alliance Treaty.

JSOC: It is the highest priority of the Japanese Security Operations Command to break the blockade of their country and reestablish lines of communication with other nations, especially other island nations in the Pacific. Unlike the other factions, Japan is on a clear timer before resources run out and they face a crisis they may not be able to overcome. Regardess of their dire situation, the Japanese people's solidarity has not wavered.

Humanity is on the verge of Extinction.

No nation has both the technology or resources left to combat the Fleet of Fog and without any way to communicate, they are unable to pool their strength for one last gambit.

The human scientists that developed the Phantom Drive were killed during a battle with large Fog fleet that caught them off-guard, leaving behind their now adult son. Their deaths nearly drove Shinano to the brink of madness but she was calmed down by the son and her new companions. This tragedy convinced Shinano to carry out the dreams of her human friends and challenge the status quo. The hope of humanity was now carried in the cargo hold of its greatest threat.

After an awkward and tense first contact, the Phantom Fleet is now positioned off the coast of Japan where they are awaiting a human diplomat they have promised safe passage to the nearby territory of CSAT as a sign of goodwill. The skies are a clear blue and the waves are calm yet there is anxiety in the air. Can former enemies trust each other to bring forth a brighter future for them both?

2.) One post per week is expected. I will wait one week between each IC post to put up the next one. OOC information and matters will be handled through the RP discord.

3.) Not every character submitted will be accepted. I will be looking over each character sheet carefully to make sure that each one will be a pleasant addition to the fleet.

4.) If you have an idea, please talk to me first. I do not mind others suggesting potential plot lines to explore but I must look over them first to ensure they won't affect the main narrative.

5.) Players are limited to a single character that must be a ship-girl. Every character must be submitted first in a hider inside the OOC Section before they will be reviewed. I have plans to allow multiple characters further along as well as human crew (Players who create human crew characters must have a ship-girl already in the story).

Concept Comm System
A highly efficient communication system in which Fleet of Fog mental models enter a virtual space and transmit information at incredible speeds. Use of the supergravity cannon is known to disrupt the use of this method of communication.

Disruption Field
A field generated by supercharging a dispersed cloud of nanomaterials that has the ability to throw off Fleet of Fog targeting systems. Destroyers and other light craft are the few that can utilize such a device.

Klein Field
A temporary force-field that came be put up by any Fleet of Fog ship. The duration and strength of the field depends on the size of the warship and the processing power allocated to it. For example, A heavy cruiser will have a stronger Klein Field than a destroyer.

Corrosive Torpedo
A highly advanced torpedo with extreme speed. The corrosive torpedo detonates on contact and releases a sphere of energy that devours any material within it.

Super Gravity Canon
A devastating weapon of unparalleled destruction, the Super Gravity Cannon create a high-density beam that erases any matter inside of its radius. Due to the energy required of such a weapon, it is normally only mounter on heavier ships.

Mental Model
A physical avatar representing a Fleet of Fog ship, often containing the ship's core. These avatars possess incredible power on their own and are more than a match for any human. Even if the ship body is destroyed, the Mental Model can still live on. The bulk of the Fleet of Fog do not possess a mental model.

Nano-material
A futuristic substance used in the construction of Fleet of Fog ships, their weaponry, and their mental models. As long as a Fog ship has sufficient nano-material stored, they can easily repair any damage.

Warship Classifications

Fleet Carrier
A large carrier outfitted with multiple squadrons of aircraft including fighters, dive bombers, and torpedo bombers. Their large size and hangar space comes at the cost of armor, speed, and maneuverability. While normally outfitted with several secondary guns and multiple AA mounts, it is vulnerable to attack from any ship.

Support Carrier
This kind of carrier is outfitted with a large store of ammunition and fuel for both ships and aircraft, several as a refueling station for aircraft closer to the area of engagement. Since these kind of carriers are closer to the front, they are outfitted with heavier armor and secondary weapons.

Escort Carrier
A small-scale and cheaper version of the fleet carrier, these ships are designed primarily for guarding important shipping routes and smaller engagements. Their lower tonnage means that they are faster and more maneuverable than their bigger sister.

Battleship
A large warship boasting the most powerful guns and the thickest armor, these warships can dish it out and take it right back. Their general drawbacks are their poor maneuvrability, slow fire-rate, and slow speed. The secondary and AA capabilities differ from battleship to battleship.

Battle-cruiser
Battle-cruisers nearly match the firepower of a battleship while being faster and more maneuverable at the cost of substantially reduced armor. Again, the AA and secondary capabilities depend on the model of the ship itself.

Heavy Cruiser
A fast and hard-hitting ship with decent armor, heavy cruisers are perhaps the most balanced ship type. Their AA defense is normally good and their secondary armaments are nothing to laugh at.

Light Cruiser
With fast fire rates and weak armor, Light cruisers can certainly be refereed to as 'glass cannons'. They can outrun and out maneuver every other ship besides a destroyer, and their excellent AA can easily destroy entire squadrons of planes.

Flotilla Leader
Larger than a destroyer but smaller than a light cruiser, Flotilla Leader's main purpose is to lead destroyers in engagements. Their thicker armor and larger caliber guns allow them to deal with enemy destroyers with ease, however their large profile increases their detection and chance of being hit.

Destroyer
A destroyer's main purpose is to scout the enemy warships and carry out torpedo strikes. They come equipped with large smoke generators than can be activated to conceal themselves and other ships from view. Low firepower is compensated by a high rate of fire and a hard to spot profile.

Destroyer Escort
Even smaller than a destroyer, Destroyer Escort's are fast but severely lack in firepower. However, they excel in anti-submarine warfare and scouting enemy forces.

The muscles in her hands tensed as the Kirins spread out and she desperately tried to keep an eye on the most immediate dangers. The red-headed girl grabbed her attention and she paused, exceedingly wary of being led into a trap. Disdain and panic flashed in her eyes as she listened to Miina before she dropped the name of her brother. Mizutani's eyes sparked as if she had figured something out "This little situation had my mind occupied, but ensure my safety and I should remember." She wasn't going to just give an answer away when she could leverage it to her benefit.

There was a glint near Ciradyl's leg followed near instantly by a spary of red.

Mizutani had flinched so when her finger reflexively tensed at burst of pain it shot the pistol off towards the ceiling. The stilleto, with a finger-length blade, in Ciradyl's hand thrust into Tane's stomach just above the thigh where she had first stabbed. Cane's grip loosened enough that Ciradyl was able to turn herself around to face the shocked crime lord. A vicious anger had twisted the normally serene and calm face of the Faye.

Ciradyl tackled Mizutani to the ground and onto her back where she resumed her assualt. Tane barely redirected a thrust from her heart and was stabbed in the shoulder instead. Ciradyl ripped the stiletto without wasting a single movement and struck her plunged it towards her throat. The blade instead pierced through Mizutani's hands as she desperately tried to prevent it from ending her life. The Faye was clearly stronger, however, as the pointed blade began to push closer and closer to her throat.

The once beautiful dresses of the two women were soaked in blood as Mizutani desperately looked towards the Kirins present for help.
