L E G A C Y None/Unknown P E T S > None ___________________________________ | ____________________________________________________________________________ L I K E S ✔ Thunderstorms - The stronger the storm, the better. ✔ Music - Listening, Singing, Writing, and Playing music. Nowhere near as talented as a child of Apollo, but she is rather skilled all the same. ✔ Heights - The higher in the sky, the safer she feels oddly enough. ✔ Parties - Ryley can be a bit of a party girl, so she’s been known to attend a couple of the larger events when she can. ✔ Fighting - Ryley tends to find a bit of enjoyment in combat, granted usually it's usually sparring in her MMA Class. ✔ Socialization - Ryley is a very extroverted individual. Being around others or with another person in any capacity makes her feel more at ease. ✔ Sweets - Ryley has a sweet tooth, she can and will consume just about anything sweet in her vicinity. Cupcakes and Pastries tend to be her favorite. ✔ Showing Off - Ryley knows that she looks, and she likes the attention it brings her. So the girl has been known to flaunt her looks on the downlow from time to time. This also feeds directly into her desire to cosplay, as she gets to show off and be dressed as her favorite characters. ✔ Beach Volleyball - Ryley loves to play volleyball, even more so if she can be on the beach. ✔ Movies - Ryley loves to watch any and all kinds of movies, and does so frequently. Whether at home, or (even better) at the theater. If one ever wants a safe bet to ask the girl on a date, the Movies are a good option. D I S L I K E S ✘ Underground - Just as she feels at home at various heights, Ryley is terrified of going below the ground. Even going near caves makes her unnerved. ____________________________________________________________________________✘ Alone - Ryley, being such an extrovert, finds it unnerving to be completely on her own. She’d much rather have the company of at least one other. ✘ Spiders - They have eight legs, they’re freaky, and gross. Enough said. ✘ Weird People at Conventions - Seriously, dude, take no for an answer. ✘ Driving Cars - Ryley is not much of a fan of driving, cars specifically, as she feels much more comfortable on her motorcycle. ✘ Being Called ‘Spoiled’ - Ryley hates it when others call her spoiled, mostly because she has easy access to money. Apart from her motorcycle, the girl has spent her life refusing her mother’s money and working to earn her own way in the world. ✘ Bullies - She’s never had issues with being bullied, but seeing others on the receiving end... sets her blood afire. ✘ Screamo Music - She loves all kinds of music, but she can’t sing along with screamo, it hurts her throat. Along with the fact that she simply… doesn’t like the style. ✘ ’Accidents’ - The name she’s given to all the strange events that happen to her every so often. Usually involving mortal danger to herself, which… one would understandably dislike. P E R S O N A L I T Y Passionate | Excitable | Strong-Willed | Selfless | Flirtatious | Smart | Brave | Outgoing At face value, Ryley Astrape looks every part the carefree party-girl most would expect from a girl with her background. However, those who put the time in to know the girl better will find themselves with a girl a bit deeper than she seemed at first. A passionate young woman, Ryley is one who doesn’t believe in half-measures. From love to anger, she embraces every motion to its fullest, and wears her heart on her sleeve. Of course, this has resulted in Ryley getting in a decent amount of fights in her life… that she might’ve started. Regardless, one never has to wonder where they stand with the girl, as she never attempts to hide how she feels. That, along with the fact that Ryley is just about one of the worst liars on the planet. When on her own, Ryley is often found playing her guitar, singing, dancing, or else working on writing some sort of music. With creative juices ever-flowing in her mind, Ryley likes to try to create the little things. Music, or sometimes sketching out various things in her notebook. When it comes to things such as romance, Ryley is painfully oblivious to feelings directed towards herself. She knows she is attractive, that people look at her, but feelings that one could truly love and value her? They’re simply not situations that are possible to her. That being said, Ryley cannot hide her own feelings in that department. As such, she’s stopped bothering to attempt to hide such feelings, instead adding that to the list of things she wears on her sleeve. Ryley also has a bit of a short fuse, her anger quick to show itself in most situations. Though she cools down about as quickly as she gets mad to begin with. Typically, this shows itself when Ryley starts yelling at others, or cursing. Rarely does she start throwing fists, unless the other party involved deserves such treatments. ____________________________________________________________________________ B I O G R A P H Y Born to a wealthy single mother, Ryley lived an early life that many would idolize. She grew up in a penthouse on the top floors of one of the many skyscrapers in New York City. Anything she could desire, the young girl had. Her mother, Sara Astrape, a beautiful model in her prime and raking in obscene amounts of money with each second. Of course, as the problem plaguing most of her background, Ryley spent much of her time barely even knowing her mother. The woman seemed more focused on her image, her career, and simply becoming more. All in an effort to recapture the attentions of the man who had swept her off her feet, and the one who had fathered her daughter. As such, Ryley quickly became a girl starved of her mother’s love, while her mother seemed to live under the impression that money would solve every issue with her daughter. This unspoken tension between the two serving only to drive them further and further apart, tension building between the two with each passing day without reconciliation. As the years passed, Ryley would start to act out against her mother. Attitude, and causing trouble with the schools she attended. Anything for that attention, trying to see if there was any of the motherly affection she knew should be there left within the woman. Yet, the only response still seemed to be throwing money at the issue. On her 16th birthday, when Ryley had made plans for a day out with her mother, hoping to make a last attempt to build that bond. Yet on the morning of, her mother was off on a flight somewhere for a business meeting. As an apology, Ryley had a Lightning LS-218 motorcycle waiting in the garage, and a written note from her mother. On that day, Ryley came to realize that there was something gone from her mother that she might not be able to get back, or that she at least wasn’t willing to put in the effort to recover. Packing her backpack with a few changes of clothes, and as much cash as she could grab, Ryley took that final present and headed out on her own. With enough money to cover her own apartment, Ryley was certain that she’d be able to make it just fine out in the world. She could have never been more wrong. Throughout her entire life, Ryley was surrounded by constant strange ‘occurrences’ that always seemed to herald some sort of disaster. Some in the form of natural disasters, particularly lightning strikes, happening nearby whenever the girl grew angry. Strange people shouting something about ‘Demigod’ and trying to attack her or others near her. Of course, there were also the times Ryley swore she could see terrifying monsters happily making their way among the crowds. These incidents had hounded the young girl throughout her life. As they did throughout her life, they only turned up in intensity after she was on her own. Shortly after finding her own place to work and live, the demigod found it constantly under assault. Weird ladies with a goatleg and a metal leg trying to attack her in a back alley, lightning obliterating her bosses’ car at work, and that one freakishly large dog that came through the drive-thru window one day at her third job. Just when Ryley was starting to think herself insane, her world took an even stranger spin. She came home one day to find her coworker, a close friend by the name of Vaen (She could swear that it was, like… mediterranean or something) outside her apartment. Moreso, he looked bruised and had… goat legs!?! Before she could even demand to know a thing about that, the boy was making her back a quick bag and leave. Ryley herself was caught so off guard and scared by the strangeness of the situation that she went along with the flow. Soon enough, she found herself at the bottom of the hill, with Vaen clutching desperately to her back and his goat-fur windswept from the ride on her bike. They’re coming for you, they’ve found your scent. Run. He had been saying the whole time, guiding her here. He practically shoved the poor girl off her motorcycle, promising to take care of it and get it stored at the ‘camp’ for when she needed it. Meanwhile sending her running up the hill towards… whatever the hell this place was. Since then, Ryley had one hell of a first day. Between learning about the Gods, her parentage, and receiving a gift in the form of a Sword and Shield from her father. Normal summer camp things, right? ____________________________________________________________________________ D E M I G O D I N F O C A B I N Cabin One ⧿ Zeus (God of the Sky, Thunder, Lightning, Kingship, Honor and Justice) S T A T U S Full-Time Camper T I M E A T C A M P Zero > Has collected zero beads > Arrived when she was eighteen > Been at camp for one whole day! F A T A L F L A W > Selflessness: Ryley has a nasty of habit of placing the weight of the world upon her shoulders. She wouldn’t blink an eye to do just about anything for another, including laying her life on the line. W E A K N E S S > Expectations: Ryley is constantly aware of the expectations for who, or… what, she should be as a daughter of Zeus. Sometimes, those can weigh entirely too much on the girl’s mind. > Burnout: Being new to camp, Ryley is susceptible to ‘Burnout’. Where overuse of her powers not only leaves her drained, but burned from the pure divine energy coursing through her veins. The results could even kill the poor girl. R E S P O N S A B I L I T I E S > None Yet W E A P O N S > Astrapí - A black sword made of celestial bronze, and painted to appear dark. The weapon is conductive of Ryley’s lightning, capable of being charged then releasing bolts upon impact with an object or target (Disguised as a lightning charm hanging from her necklace. She is not yet in possession of this weapon) > Vrontí - A classic hoplite-inspired shield, albeit smaller in size. Specially designed, the shield is similar in size to Captain America’s shield, and shares durability and weight. It can be thrown, then manipulated with the winds to return to the user. The weapon is also conductive to Ryley’s lightning, able to be charged and emit deadly bolts as it impacts objects or enemies (Disguised as a necklace charm. She is not yet in possession of this weapon) A B I L I T I E S Ryley’s abilities include: Electrokinesis, Atmokinesis, Aerokinesis, & Enhanced Physiology Electrokinesis : > While she completely lacks any sort of training, Ryley’s natural potency with her abilities is rather uncanny. Perhaps as a result of her lacking a legacy, and instead having more of her father coursing through her veins. Ryley is fully capable of summoning lightning bolts from the sky, generating electricity from her body (even covering herself in it and tossing it around in battle), and is immune to damage from electricity. Atmokinesis : > Capable of manipulating the weather, such as generating small storms to even miniature hurricanes (potentially). This ability in theory will allow the girl to tame the Venti, storm spirits, though she hasn’t exactly known enough to test this out. It also has a small side effect, responding to Ryley’s emotions. So when storming away after an argument, for example, the girl might literally be storming. Aerokinesis : > Ryley has complete control over the winds. Capable of generating, manipulating, and controlling the very air around her. She can generate powerful blasts of air, pull things to herself, manipulate her shield when thrown, or fly using this ability…. or conveniently have one's hair blowing majestically in the breeze. Cheeky flips of one's skirt may or may not also be on the menu. Enhanced Physiology : > Being the Daughter of Zeus, Ryley inherited another unique attribute from her father. All demigods are faster, stronger, more resilient, and the likes than a mortal. However, children of Zeus are often a cut above that. Ryley is comparable in physical abilities near that of her older brother, who she has never met, Jason Grace. Despite her stature and build being smaller, she is able to easily deliver the same output as he was capable. Another lovely side-effect is that Ryley's body is nearly constantly in peak condition, something she's more than happy to show off. That being said, the girl also consumes a proportional amount of calories to fuel such abilities. Explaining why wherever Ryley is, there is usually some form of snack nearby. 𝒫𝓁𝑒𝒶𝓈𝑒 𝒩𝑜𝓉𝑒: All of Ryley’s abilities are currently uncontrolled, making it difficult for her to use them at will… or stop them from manifesting. Additionally, overuse or potent attacks will trigger burnout, harming or killing the girl depending on the feedback. ____________________________________________________________________________ O T H E R
