You see, some people are born with a piece of night inside, and that hollow place can never be filled --- not with all the good or sunshine in the world. ... we must simply endure it.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Stark Tower -- New York City, New York.
Skills:

Antoinette looked back and forth at the back and forth comments between Sarah, Mary and then Neil. It was slightly amusing but also disappointing. Antoniette shifted and stood once Tony Stark announced the suits were ready and in the next room. She went up, standing with Carolina for a minute and watched the trio who were arguing for a moment. ”I do believe this may be one of the concerns others have about sending ‘children’ into space to save the world.” The high stress and tension of the situation wasn’t helping matters of course. Antoinette looked at Carolina and took her hand. ”I do hope we prove them wrong,” she said before following Carolina into the other room.
Iron Man suits lined the wall but they weren’t nearly as dazzling as Mr. Stark’s. They didn’t have the time for the pimped out versions but it was still exciting and a thrill for Antoinette when she stepped into one of the suits and it fastened around her. A screen turned on where the visor sat so she could see and Antoinette looked around the room, seeing everyone in a different light. She could see vital signs and a few other things plus one interesting addition for them that was tracking the object in space. Antoinette took a few steps and the tracker announced she was getting closer. She looked over at Carolina and noted her vital signs. ”Oh Lina! You must try your suit on!” The Iron Man helmet shifted and revealed Antoinette’s head again, her eyes were bright and brilliant with excitement as she waited for Carolina to get into her suit.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: The Palace Grounds -- Behind the Stands -- Midgard - The Castle
Skills:Bow&Arrow; Enhanced Strength; Sword Play

Cuyler didn’t have much time to respond or even contemplate Arnora’s words about the vision she had seen. It didn’t really help his head and now with chaos ripping through the stands, Cuyler had to shift his train of thought quickly. He pulled his bow around and withdrew an arrow from its quiver and followed on Arnora’s heels where they came across their cousin Halley talking with Hodr and Baldur. He agreed with Arnora, it was time to get them out of there. If whoever was in the midst of this battle here for Baldur, keeping him here was a poor plan.
In the meantime, the chaos was spreading. The fire was at bay thanks to Bruce but there were others, innocents falling and dying around them all. Cuyler wasn’t built like Halley, he couldn’t ignore these people and so started firing arrows at targets. Perhaps this was a sign Cuyler should stick to Asgardian things. In Cuyler’s attempt to save the innocents, he ended up killing two before he got a hit into the bad guys. Cuyler’s face fell and he dropped his arms, suddenly feeling extremely heavy. There were casualties in war but he had never killed innocents before. With all the chaos going on though, it was near impossible to get a completely clear target, especially with the bow and arrows. Cuyler put his bow away, stealing his courage and withdrew his sword, Borghild. Close range would be better for the time being.
Thia, the loyal Night Transformer who currently looked like a Norwegian Elkhound, managed to get teeth on one of those attacking the Castle but they were able to get away from her before she could sink teeth in. She slipped in next to Cuyler and Arnora, growling and glaring at everything around her. Cuyler stepped forward again, finding a target and twisted his blade, angling it for the man’s side but the Darke mage managed to conjure a blade of his own and blocked Cuyler’s blade and now the two of them are locked in battle.

Amarantha

Location: The Throne Room -- The Palace
Skills:

There wasn’t much more room for talking when Arya, in the flesh rather than speculation showed up, Fleur with her as well. Ayra directed her attention to Amarantha and created a ball of Fyre that made her tense in anticipation. If even a lick of that touched her, she would be finished. Luckily, Rowland stopped if from hitting her. ”As I hear it Ayra, you have turned over to the dark side as well. Who are you to judge me?” She looked at Rowland, seeming to ask him if he could handle her for the moment. Amarantha needed to get Luna out of here. She knew Valda wouldn’t leave and Mryus, as much as she didn’t want to risk his safety, was an asset.
Amarantha pulled a couple of blades out of hiding and stepped in front of Luna, even as she started to throw a valiant speech towards Fleur. ”Perhaps now isn’t the best time,” Amarantha scolded Luna. They needed to get her out of here, to the Queen’s Room. Lennox moved in with his Commander and both started to take steps back, herding Luna from the room. Amarantha’s eyes remained watching Fleur. Valda may be discarding her, either to infuriate the witch or because she didn’t really see her as a threat compared to Ayra but Amarantha wasn’t going to discount a lover scorned, especially one that was as power hungry as Fleur was.

Ahote Proudstar

Location: Outside The Throne Room -- The Palace
Skills: Aura Sensing; Enhanced Condition

Ahote was left without an answer and was momentarily confused when Prince Mryus shouted they were under attack. No one in the throne room was attacking anyone, that was until seven people appeared out of nowhere. Ahote turned rapidly and watched the one in purple accuse Amarantha of failing the Castle. Valda moved in, trying to take the woman in purple down but could barely get a decent hold on her with the Magyk chains. Ahote assumed all seven of these beings had some sort of Magyk in them, especially when he saw the one in purple throwing Fyre at Amarantha. As the woman in purple blocked Valda’s chain attacks, Ahote got a read on her aura. It was confused and dark. There had been a strength to her at one point, a kindness that was slowly being tainted. They had to get those chains on her, Ahote could see there was hope for this one.
”Valda, timing. Wait for the opportune moment,” Ahote stated, falling into the easy mode of teaching and training. He turned back to Ayra and charged ahead, pushing himself to a faster pace than the average human in hopes to catch Ayra off guard and restrain her. The spirits of the True North were with Ahote, seeming to guide his moves effortlessly and Ahote managed to get Ayra restrained. "Now!" he shouted towards Valda, in hopes her trick would work better for them at this time. If all else fails, put them on manually.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Sabertooth Hallway - Sinister’s Lair -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Enhanced Speed; Acrobatics; Hand-to-Hand Combat

Luna glared at Sinister but she did appreciate the rundown on who they were about to fight off. One against one, that was at least helpful. Luna didn’t worry about the other two as the fight started, she had her own hands full. The ground left her feet as she was flung back and hit the wall with a solid hit. She dropped to her knees but didn’t let the hit keep her down and launched herself at Arclight. Luna dropped into a slide at the last minute, knocking Arclight off her feet before she pinned her down and started pounding on her face. She managed to knock her out easily with a couple of hits and Luna sat back for a moment and brushed fingers through her hair, not the least bit concerned if she streaked blood through her hair.
Luna looked around, trying to find something to keep her tied down but all she managed to find was a small intestine curled around in a jar of embalming fluid. ”When in Rome,” she declared, her British accent thicker from the adrenaline. Luna grabbed the jaw and smashed it on the floor before she wrapped it around Arclight’s ankles and wrists and hog tied the girl. Luckily the small intestine is long and was able to make the distance. She tied it tight, hoping a human organ could hold this much tension and turned to see how her companions were faring. As Luna stood, she reached out and grabbed a glass shard from the broken jar and held it loosely in her hand, ready to use it should she need it.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Van/Road -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Cayden reached out to pull Waverley back but there was so much movement and she moved quickly on top of that so he couldn’t get her before some freaky sword was coming out of Magik’s chest. Cayden’s eyes widened and he was in a relative state of shock watching all of this transpire. What exactly was she? It didn’t sound good that she was asking for a hit either and the way she was asking for one didn’t sound like an addict to Cayden but someone who didn't want to do what she was capable of but he couldn’t be sure. Waverley missed giving her a sedative but Sapphire stopped the car and gave her something to calm her down before sliding back into the driver's seat and took off. Waverley sat back beside Casper and him and Cayden just stared at her.
Sapphire yelled at them all to shut up and quick pissing her off and from where Cayden was, that was easier said than done. They were trying not to freak out while dealing with things none of them had come across before. On top of that, Casper was curled into James and freaking out still. There was a whole lot of hell going on in the back seats. Cayden rested a hand on Waverley’s shoulder. ”Let James worry about Cas for right now,” Cayden suggested. They all had plenty of questions and there was a lot of excitement in the air right now.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: The Palace Grounds -- Behind the Stands -- Midgard - The Castle
Skills:

Cuyler nodded his agreement with Bruce, of course it wasn’t safe but it was just Cuyler remarking on how he was sure his littlest cousin would have enjoyed all of this. Cuyler wished he could enjoy all of this but his mind was preoccupied. To make matters worse Cuyler was no longer seeing all that was around him. He was staring blankly off into space as he was overcome with a vision. Cuyler stood back at the Well of Mimir but Mimir was not alone. A small girl stood, reaching out and took Cuyler’s hand. He wasn’t sure how but he knew her name to be Apollodora and she had eyes as blue as the ocean, with hair as dark as night and she was so familiar to Cuyler. ”It's going to be okay, Daddy. You can rest now.”
Cuyler was meeting his beautiful daughter, a daughter he somehow knew he was going to have but didn’t understand the meaning of any of this. Before he could say a word, Apollodora turned to dust and disappeared before his very eyes, floating away on wind that didn’t exist. A moment later and Cuyler was looking back at the stands, hearing the roar of the crowd and Arnora teasing him and Myth agreeing with Cuyler that Halden would like this but it wasn’t safe.
Cuyler blinked a couple of times as shock and confusion rolled through him in waves. He looked at Myth before she went off with Bruce and he was left with his friend Arnora. He ran a hand over his eye patch and his hair again before he shook himself but the vision wouldn’t leave him. ”Did Saga mention anything about there being recurring visions when she spoke of the waters of Mimir?” Cuyler asked Arnora. He wanted to know what it meant and why she had disappeared like that. It had been as if it were ash but she had not caught fire and they were standing in water at the time and why did she want him resting. Cuyler couldn’t rest, they had to prevent the end of the world.

Amarantha

Location: The Throne Room -- The Palace
Skills:

Amarantha wasn’t surprised Valda was continuing to ignore her. It had been happening ever since her release and Amarantha wasn’t even sure Valda had been completely on board with her release. No matter, Amarantha was here, doing her duty for the good of the Castle and if Queen Valda wanted to hold onto a little spat that Amarantha had when she felt her life was over and death was imminent, that was her personal problem but the safety of the Castle needed them to put their personal feelings aside and buck up. Amarantha glanced over at Lennox and nodded at him to follow the Queen when she went to go have her conversation. No royal was being left unattended today, especially when conversing with one of their many enemies.
Amarantha drifted over and stood next to Luna. ”Are you going to give one of the lovely contestants your favour? I’m sure any of the fine male contestants would be more than happy to have it.” And if two of the Kings' obnoxious laughter was any indication, they certainly would. Amarantha would have adored sticking by Luna’s side today but the both of them had a greater purpose to serve today and flirting with her charge, was not it. "If you would like, I can escort you out to the Royal Box if you would like to go now," Amarantha offered, looking back at Luna.

Ahote Proudstar

Location: Outside The Throne Room -- The Palace
Skills:

Ahote bowed again when Valda named him as her champion. She knew it was part in protecting her brother, which was one of his reasons for volunteering but he still couldn’t help but swell with pride from her favour. Ahote looked over at Mryus and nudged him with his elbow. ”I’ll need a coach of sorts. I would like you to come with me into the ring to prepare and be there for each task, if you desire it.” Ahote didn’t want his friend to feel as if he were being overlooked it was a safety thing just as much as it was a political thing.
Ahote looked over, hearing the Kings’ laugh and speech. They weren't being completely silent but if Ahote chose to tap in, he was sure he would be able to hear more of their conversation and see malice and lust in their auras but he refrained for a better opportunity. ”Maybe we should both go and speak to them. Teach them a little respect,” Ahote said under his breath to his two royal friends and the commander of the guard. Ahote didn’t appreciate the backwoods talk that the two of them were exhibiting and it didn’t help matters when King Nicholas flashed a poisonous smile at Valda. His hands clenched into fists and he shifted his weight. Someone cleared their throat and he turned his head quickly, seeing Amarantha smirking at him.
”I do believe you have somewhere to be Ahote Proudstar, champion to the Small Wet Country Across the Sea. Go on now.” Ahote stepped back, relaxing only slightly and nodded.
”Will you come be with me in the champions tent later on Prince Mryus?” Ahote asked his friend.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Stark Tower -- New York City, New York.
Skills:

Once Antoinette heard that she would be placed on the same team with Carolina, she relaxed immediately. She would have more confidence in herself with a steady presence next to her, not that Antoinette ever completely failed during missions. It was just harder when guns were going off and the last mission had set her back some. Antoinette released Carolina and went and sat down, they still had some time so she figured she would rest and be comfortable while the last details were set out. She was more than happy with the rest of the members on her team. She knew them well and had worked with them at least a few times now.
Iris mentioned duplicating the device they were after, which Antoinette didn’t think was a half bad idea. They did have the technology but that might prolong their departure time and it didn’t sound like they had a lot of time. Even waiting for the suits to be finished seemed a risk but they needed them to get into space and it would all help them in the end to defeat this World Eater. What her dad would say when he found out she went into space. It wasn’t like that was ever on their radar when they were all living in their small town in Ireland. Antoinette smiled a little, picturing her mother’s face as she stood in the living room, watching the birds flying outside the window and explaining each one to her. Soon Antoinette would get to fly. Not quite as a bird but something more.
Ezekiel Kel

Location: The Arena -- Camp Half-Blood

Ezekiel glanced at Rebecca and simply nodded, he didn’t think she wanted to hear another apology from him. At least his first apology had been genuine, this time he was simply making a joke and it clearly missed its mark. Demetri and Leda showed up with Arthur and few others in tow. Demetri looked at Ezekiel, looking a little green from his sudden speed run with Leda before he threw up his previous meal on the ground. Ezekiel sidestepped the soiled ground and held back a wicked retort, which in hindsight he should have said because of what Demetri did say. Ezekiel narrowed his eyes on the boy child before shifting his hand, catching the light and bent it into Demetri’s eyes. It wasn’t a blinding thing like he had used in Capture the Flag but it was enough to hopefully shock and irritate little Zeus.
Ezekiel watched Rosie float down in her chair to Chiron before he took his seat, his patient officially out of his care. He made little handshakes with some of his half-siblings as he sat with them before settling in to listen to Chiron. He frowned a little when he heard about a talking skull killing his master. There weren’t many talking skulls here so he was easily able to put two and two together. It was always unfortunate when someone died at camp but for someone’s gift to turn on them, that was bizarre but then again, Hades was bizarre.
Rosie spoke up and mentioned the prophecy, Ezekiel shifted uncomfortably while his siblings leaned in, intrigued by the message and the potential quest of honor. Ezekiel was a little bit more interested in traveling to their sister camp. They hadn’t gotten together in quite a long time and it was always fun competing against the opposite houses. He wondered if this was going to be a joint quest. People started to stand, volunteering and Ezekiel was hardly surprised when Kristen was the first to stand. Little miss perfect princess, of course. It annoyed him to no end that her house was included in this but the upside, none of the big three were included, although that didn’t seem to stop some of them from volunteering to travel to the sister camp. Ezekiel couldn’t completely blame them for that. When you elected to remain at camp year round, one tended to become a little stir crazy.
Ezekiel looked back at Rosie and she met his eyes. He gave her a bit of a look before looking at the other Apollo kids then back to Rosie, trying to get across ‘does it have to be me’ thing but Rosie just simply kept looking at him, not really getting the poor sign language Ezekiel was trying to use. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He was a child of Apollo, a child of sun and a child of medicine, maybe he would be tasked with the job of healing rather than fighting. After a moment more, Ezekiel stood up and volunteered himself for whatever hell he was about to willingly walk into. He would have to ask Rebecca to help him gather as much supplies as he could carry for the quest because they would probably need a lot.

Cassiopeia Hood

Location: Chinese Place -- Wichita, Kansas
Skills:

Cassiopeia gave the waiter her order before she leaned back into her chair, draping one arm over the back of the chair. ”Just don’t be disappointed if you find out something you didn’t want to know,” she warned Layla. Cassiopeia had adopted the attitude of their birth parents being dead and good riddance. She didn’t need that, nor want that in her life. She was completely happy with the little life they now had. It had been an upward battle but they had made it through, together. Cassiopeia didn’t need anyone else but her sister at her side.
Cassiopeia rolled her eyes at her sister and shook her head. ”Right cause I need that drama right now. Besides, guys are too intimidated around here when a woman can shoot better than they can. You can’t tell me you’ve had any recent success with that knife throwing of yours and landing a man. Well I mean, I guess you could pin them in place easily,” she teased her sister. As for finding a woman who Cassiopeia was interested in, there were slim pickings.

Willow Jones

Location: The Diner
Skills:

Willow’s eyes widened and her mouth opened in shock. ”That’s… what really?” She glanced at the letter one of the girls pulled out again before Willow reached into her bag and pulled out her letter. She scanned over it again before setting her letter on the table. ”This can’t be a coincidence but it can’t be… I’m not adopted.” Willow said firmly. She couldn’t be, that just didn’t make sense but these letters, they were one in the same, other than who they were addressed to.
Willow had to set her coffee cup down as she was now visibly shaking. None of this was making any sense and she couldn’t wrap her head around it. Willow was certain she was about to have a panic attack but she didn’t need that, not on top of an already crap day. She sunk down into a chair and tried to slow her rapid breathing.

Luna Braddock - Glimpse

Location: Sinister’s Lair -- Washington D.C.
Skills: Telepathy - Psionic Shield

Luna glanced back around when Veil announced Sabertooth was gone. He didn’t even seem to make a sound and that was a little off putting. ”Brilliant,” Luna commented before she looked back around. She was about to hunt out Sunshine’s location when she saw a man at the end of the hallway. He seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, rather than disappear like Sabertooth did. What was this place? Some sort of fun house? Luna eyed the man in costume and then slowly realization of who this was and where they were dawned on her. ”Mister Sinister, we must have missed the map of the funhouse at the beginning of our tour,” she said and crossed her arms. She wasn’t even going to attempt to get into Sinister’s head, there was no guarantee that she was going to even get close to that, nor did she want to see into the sick twisted mind of the man who tried to wipe out the Morlocks many moons ago.
Her aunt, the one who she shared her middle name with, knew a few things about the man that now stood in front of her. Luna had no idea she would be running across him while here. Carefully, Luna placed a block over her mind and reached out to do the same with her companions. She was able to block Veil just fine but Callie was another story. Luna shifted, half her body shielding Callie, at least Veil had her actual shields should something occur.

Cayden Proudstar - Moonwalker

Location: Van/Road -- Washington D.C.
Skills:

Slowing down was definitely not an option, what with the cops still firing off shots at them. This was becoming a common occurrence, trying to outrun cops and Cayden really wished he had some sort of well developed mind power in order to attack them from afar. His Dreamwalking was only good for someone asleep as Cayden had yet to develop it to use while awake. The bullets kept coming at them and another one bounced off the metal man and Cayden ducked, not seeing the one graze Sapphire but he did hear Casper freak right out. He thought the mutant had been hit but what he was saying was not in context with what was happening. ”Casper, hey man, just breathe alright? We’ll be home soon.”
Soon wasn’t soon enough when another cry sounded and Colossus’s sister started glowing, well more of a glow coming from her chest but there was definitely some sort of light show going on. Cayden didn’t need to say anything to announce they were in trouble, everyone knew that and Sapphire was able to get them out of the cop situation. Cayden shifted and reached out for the door handle, ready to throw the thing open and bail out with Waverley should things go south with the glowing girl. Whatever was happening, it didn’t sound like she was enjoying herself.

Cuyler Eysteinsson

Location: The Palace Grounds -- Behind the Stands -- Midgard - The Castle
Skills:

Cuyler stood in the shadows, hearing the roar of people and the smell of various foods, both domestic and forign to this land. He had his axe out, flipping it this way and that, ready to use it should his companions want more of a lead. Of course Arnora used her gift to track it to this specific area, but they might be able to narrow it more and find this stone quickly before anyone became curious as to what the Asgardians were doing here, again. ”You should have brought Halden. He would have liked all of this,” Cuyler remarked to Myth. Of course they were on a quest and it was no place for a baby but Cuyler had found an odd comfort in the small child and it would have been nice to focus on his reactions to the goings on around them.
With the increase in activity since Cuyler’s vision of Ragnarok and the presence of Infinity Stones, Cuyler hadn’t much time to breath or process. He stole precious minutes with his tiny cousin when he could and it seemed all the world fell away when he was holding the small thing. But as it would, life moved on and Cuyler wasn’t permitted to take a moment and process. Things were happening on Asgard in preparation for Ragnarok and Cuyler was sent to Midgard to go find some stone. He was having a hard time justifying this work over being on Asgard, preparing and training. He had felt more and more on edge every day since his vision and being sent here was bothering him. Cuyler ran a hand over his new eye patch and down his braided hair, a new habit he had developed since the loss of his eye.

Amarantha

Location: The Throne Room -- The Palace
Skills:

As soon as Amarantha stepped through the door, moving away from the sunlight to the dull lighting of the Palace, she slipped off her hood and mask, before continuing down the hall to the Throne Room. As before, servants and other Palace staff slipped out of her way but now she was followed by hurried whispers and hushed words. Her eyes glanced over each of them and she grinned at a particular nickname that seemed to be following her these days. Yes, she quite liked that one.
The secular games were upon them and Amarantha had been planning this for months. She was eternally grateful to a former ExtraOridinary Wizard ghost and the ghost of famous Alchemist Marcellus Pye who managed to have a serum crafted for her. She had to take the thing once a month to suppress the basic urges of being a vampire but the Commander of the Guard was back, even if she had a particular fondness for raw meat and bunny blood.
Amarantha entered the Throne Room and bowed before walking up to the Queen and her siblings. She clasped a hand over her heart and bowed her head before speaking. Yes, Amarantha was groveling for her former behaviour to Valda. In her defense she had been diminished down to her animalistic self and had no filter of any kind. ”The Guard is in place as well and Titan is stationed within the Royal box, awaiting your arrival,” Amarantha informed the Queen. As for Amaratha, she would be slipping back into the shadows for the duration of the games. Not only because of the sunlight having a nasty way of burning her instantly, although it didn’t outright kill her, but also to keep on eye on everyone foreign. They had allowed a lot of enemies, people they were warring with currently and potential threats into the Castle and Amarantha wanted to keep a close eye on them all. Amarantha looked over at Luna and shared a private smile with her before looking back at Valda.

Ahote Proudstar

Location: Outside The Throne Room -- The Palace
Skills:

Ahote stood a few paces behind Myrus in the throne room. Even though they were inside, the room was abuzz with the various royals from distant countries, all of them sizing each other up and trying to think ahead of what the other would do. Ahote’s eyes wandered to all of them, trying to get a feel for them all but with so many auras in one place, it would be hard to get an accurate reading so Ahote didn’t even try. He looked back when Myrus volunteered to be Valda’s champion. Something pulled inside Ahote’s chest and he smiled at the floor. Ahote was quite proud of Mryus and the progress he had made with his learning as well as the growing he had done in these last few days.
Ahote stepped forward after Mryus made his offer and bowed his head to Valda. She knew she didn’t care for the dramatics of bowing completely but this was a formal event with her enemies looking on and judging every move, he didn’t want her to be seen as weak because she was far from it. ”I too, would like to volunteer as tribute,” Ahote declared. He respected Mryus’s desire to represent his home and his country but he wanted to give Valda the option. True, Ahote was not from these lands by birth but he had been prepared to protect them ever since being drafted by Amarantha for his current position. Ahote glanced over at Amarantha and smiled, glad she was back. She may be different now but her heart was still for this country, even though it no longer beat as his or Valda’s did.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: Stark Tower -- New York City, New York.
Skills:

At least they had a rough idea, that relaxed Antoinette a little bit and once they were on the ship, they would be able to track the device better. Like most of the others from the academy, Antoinette perked up at the idea of being able to wear an Iron Man suit, now that would be something else. Her own eyes sparkled and flashed from the idea of it, she could picture it clearly now. Not only would that cut down on their time, but it would also come in handy should they need to make their own distractions, plus their safety.
Antoinette shook her head after Carolina messed up her hair, looking up and going cross eyed as she tried to smooth hair she couldn’t see. Her eyes snapped back when her friend suggested possessing the Silver Surfer. Now that just sounded like a horrible idea to her, making Carolina’s body vulnerable for one and risking all of their exposure for another. She grabbed onto her friends hands and looked at the others in the room, the ones who seemed to be calling the shots. Antoinette wasn't completely comfortable with the idea of it, or the possibility of loosing her friend. She didn't have much, didn't need much but Carolina, she had become a sort of lifeline to Antoinette as of late.
