@Crab... see if you can find out what she's interested in. Then ask her about it. No flirting need be involved to just break the ice. :)

Bio

Long time casual role player who loves tales of adventure! I enjoy tabletop games, play-by-post, and even LARP!

Wild (and sometimes weird) west and medieval fantasy games with an 'old-school' D&D feel are my favorite.

In real life, I'm a software engineer and wanna-be farmer. I have a little garden and some chickens that like to destroy my flower beds. But I like 'em anyway and they all have names. ;) Sometimes they lay me some breakfast.

Other hobbies include dog agility and archery.

Any of Lord Raullin's men (or women) that I just threw in there are up for grabs too. :)
Gris Osteler cursed under his breath as the party Lady Dulcena had assembled split into two and departed in two separate directions. He, along with a few others under the employ of Lord Raullin, were keeping an eye on Dulcena's small castle from a distance, attempting to determine exactly what the suspected sorceress was scheming. So far all they'd accomplished as a poor night's sleep on the ground with nothing happening. He still didn't know much other than the fact that she'd outfitted them with weapons and some armor and sent them off.

Lord Raullin had sent them almost as soon as he had received word of Dulcena using her authority as a member of the high council to release 10 convicted criminals from the prison. Maybe he could finally get the proof he needed to discredit this rival once and for all.

Gris sighed, watching the groups get farther away. He hated splitting his own small group, but didn't see another option if he was to find out where both were headed. "You two follow the ones on horseback," he told two of his companions. "We'll go after the wagon."

--

The pair were dressed in basic traveling cloths, but they still kept a fair distance back from the wagon in an effort to remain inconspicuous as they followed it out of Greenbury and onto the road headed south. Just two more travelers headed toward the bay.

It was early yet, but already growing warm and bright. Gris squinted and put a hand above his brow to get a better look at the folks aboard the wagon.

Would it be alright if I put a second character into one of the untaken spaces?

Sure!
So if I want to join I just hop in?

Go for it. :)

(Unless you want "The Boy". In that case, PM me and we'll work out a couple details. )
@pandapolio... if you haven't already, check out this post in the OOC: roleplayerguild.com/posts/4419273

Pumpkinbot just claimed one of the open spots on the Blackmarsh mission, but the others are available.
@Kelewen So, er, do I just jump in and pretend I was with everyone else the whole time? I'm not familiar with these kinds of "jump-in whenever" scenes. :x

Yep! We've kinda left them as nameless background characters for just this reason!
@Kelewen You got mine and ProfessorLambo's characters mixed up. Otherwise, good idea for listing them^^

Fixed. Thanks for the catch. :)

Character profiles are optional for this one! My personal preference is to figure out my characters as the story progresses.

Magic would be ok. It could easily be why your character was imprisoned in the first place. (That's sort of what I'm assuming about Gisk's hedge wizard, but he hasn't revealed anything specific yet about why Rolf was thrown in prison.) If you go with a character with magic, just keep it relatively low powered.

Hmmm.... I can't think of anything else restriction-wise. (Well... unless maybe to say please no demons, demi-gods, or the like!)
@Pumpkinbot, @Danzo If you're still interested in jumping in, here is a short summary of where we are and where a new character might fit:

Background: About 150 years a war ended with magic being outlawed and the fortress where magic users studied (Whitehall) being sealed up.

Lady Dulcena is intent on opening Whitehall and thinks she knows how to do it. But since it's outlawed, she recruits 10 prisoners to aid her. In return for their freedom, they have agreed to help her. Half are sent to the Blackmarsh in search of a key. The other half are sent to Ethanfeld to bring a boy descended from one of the mages who originally sealed up Whitehall.

Mission: The Boy. PCs have been provided horses and are just starting out.

  • Sigmar - half orc warrior played by ProfessorLambo
  • Kayden - mercenary (and once upon a time, a prince) played by POOHEAD189
  • Wren - shady rogu-ish gal played by me
  • Aeryn - blind monk. Currently available as his creator stopped playing. roleplayerguild.com/posts/4383205
  • ??? - Available. No description yet.

Mission: Blackmarsh. PCs are just starting out in a wagon, but headed toward a boat that will take them into the Blackmarsh.

  • Rolf - hedge wizard played by Gisk
  • Zarwin - fighter played by Garth
  • Bergoda - woman (rogue-ish???) played by Gentlemanvaultboy
  • ??? - Available. No description yet.
  • ??? - Available. No description yet.

Other:

  • The Boy - Available. We know very little about him so far, so if anyone wants him, they'd be free to make him up.
Welcome! I'm on my phone at the moment, but will try to give you some ideas on where you can jump in when I get back to a real keyboard. :) (hopefully tonight!)
