Olympus Academy | Day 1

The day was oddly dreary for such a magical place. Olympus Academy's magic usually provided only the most beautiful and comfortable weather for students, but that morning was wet and cold. While incoming freshmen might mistake the weather for normal, returning students and professors would be on edge: storms meant conflict among the Olympians. In fact, 2075 marked a dangerous year, and some students opted to attend school with mortals this semester. The student count this year was lower than it had been in a long time, parents godly and otherwise fearful about the tension in Olympus extending to Olympus Academy.

Weather aside, the campus remained gorgeous and decorated with statues standing as testaments to the gods and their children. It was a short drive from one of the largest airports in Greece, no more than an hour. Mortals unknowingly passed by it all the time, in fact. The magic that protected the Academy created an illusion that it wasn't there. Instead, mortals saw beautiful and untouched fields and forest, protected by environmentalists that were proud of the gorgeous site and its large lakes. Mortals were also inclined not to explore the campus they couldn't see: the magic often suggested they were too short on time or had some other important task to get to.

The morning sun remained hidden behind clouds as students arrived at the academy. They would have their dorm buildings and room numbers in mind, returning students having the choice to keep their dorms and roommates from the year previous. The grand tuition included books and some basic school supplies, generous compared to schools found world wide. The administrators--a council compromised of friendly "monsters" and demigods--weren't going to shake down Zeus for money, after all.

Riddley Kingsley | 17 |  Athena

Apperance: Bright red hair makes it easy to spot Riddley: she has dull blue eyes, and they are steady and observant. Her red hair is usually tied back so that she's more comfortable, otherwise it's a bit of an unkempt mess. She almost never wears makeup save for special occasions, but she does not have a plain appearance. She is tall for a girl, standing at 5'8", and her body is toned with muscles, particularly her thighs and calves due to football. She has a narrow, asymmetric face and her smile is wide and goofy. However, lately she hasn't been smiling as much. 

Personality: Riddley is an engaging, outgoing individual with a strong head on her shoulders. She is intelligent in both academia and the streets, and well read beyond most of her generation. She comes off as polite, but she's observant and can easily turn cold if she dislikes you. Her intelligence and judgmental nature is backed by athletic prowess--only semi-impressive to a Ares' kid. True to her godly heritage, she does her best to be wise. Though she's still figuring out exactly what that means, and may come off as a know it all because of it. On top of all of this, she's unapologetically ambitious with lofty goals in economics and politics once she graduates.

Abilities:• Combat prowess: Both armed and unarmed, Riddley can put up one hell of a fight. And, unlike her mother, violence is not a last resort for her. Her fighting is very stylistic, however, and tends to use the opponent's strength against them.
• Supernatural intelligence: Riddley is more observant, a better strategist, and a faster reader than the average teenager. 
• Minor shapeshifting: Riddley can slightly alter her appearance to look different to others. It is always a human form, and she uses it to trick others.

Short Bio: Riddley's father was a powerful and wise man, living in England: he was born the youngest in a rich family, but worked his way up beyond his siblings to take his place the head of the family even after facing the threat of disownment a few times. This is probably what attracted Athena to him: his intelligence and ambition similar to Greek heroes of old. So, Riddley was conceived, though not the traditional way: much like Athena was born of Zeus' head, Riddley was born of her mother asexually to give her father an heir.

Riddley was raised primarily by her father as head of the rich and powerful family, having his claws all over the world. However, Athena was a relatively involved parent compared to the other gods. Bred to be just as strong--if not stronger--than her father, Riddley was never spoiled and was encouraged to work for what she wanted by the two. This shaped her into what she is today: strong, intelligent, and well versed. 

However, a power grab within the family threatened her life: her father was killed--allegedly by his siblings--and Riddley would have been killed too, if not for Athena's interruption. Athena saved her daughter and sent her off Olympus Academy, where she knew she'd be safe. Due to the danger at home in England, Riddley is one of the few students who stays at the Academy year round. This was a few years back, and now Riddley is graduating within the next couple years, set to inherit her family's fortune again even if she needs to fight for it. Grateful to her mother, she has decided to also put her stakes in for the war brewing among the gods: Riddley represents Athena on Earth and among the school. She believes her mother would be best fit to rule after Zeus. 

Her support of the power grab has given her a mixed reputation at school, though it has also made her warm to students she sees as potential allies.

Enzo March
"Don't underestimate him for some dumb jock." 
Both Riddley and Enzo excel in athletics and their studies. As they are both demigods of War, Enzo has been a friendly rival to Riddley since his arrival at Olympus Academy. She welcomes his competition to keep her on her toes and values him as an ally among the conflict.

Micah Everwood
"I'd be even more serious without Micah around."
Micah and Riddley have been friends since they both started as freshmen at Olympus Academy. He adds much needed sunshine to her cloudy days, and she trusts him as a confidant when she feels like she can't lean on others. He's a good contrast to her more serious, tactful nature.

Hudson Fulbright
Although Hudson had been someone to avoid in the past, Riddley has conveniently warmed up to him with the conflict brewing knowing that Hades is still likely bitter toward his younger brother. She doesn't trust Hudson like she does Enzo, but she recognizes importance and value when she sees it even if she isn't very public with her friendliness toward him.

Alexander Bertil
Riddley happily exists as a thorn in Alexander's side. She has little patience for the daddy's boy, and she (hypocritically) finds his support of his own father to be him taking an easy stance on the brewing conflict. The distaste goes both ways, but she sometimes finds it hard to compete against a literal prince when she's a little rough around the edges.




Naya Tonnerre | 16 |  Nyx

Apperance: Her most outstanding feature is her green eyes, surprisingly bright against her dark skin and hair. However, her eyes are usually hidden behind dark sunglasses. Naya's brown skin has an ashy, pale undertone to it. Her face is blemish free and smooth, and she rarely wears makeup beyond adding some flair to her green, green eyes. She has a narrow nose and full lips to match her father's. Her natural hair is long and fashioned into dreadlocks, occasionally decorated with gold or silver bands. Naya stands tall for a girl at 5'8", and she is lean in figure. She tends to dress in dark and neutral colors such as deep green, creating a loosely goth style. 

Personality: Naya comes off as rather intimidating: she stands tall and has intense, glaring eyes. Her lips are often set in a tight frown, creating a "resting bitch face." She is difficult to approach, and she is well aware of it, often playing it up. However, she has grown insecure since coming to the school. She has grown to be unlikeable among her peers, and she is stuck between wallowing in self pity and being stubborn and owning it. Past the issues, however, she has a great sense of humor and a sharp wit. She is introverted, for sure, but tends to express that by creating her own stimulation in the environment. When it comes to school work specifically, she can be surprisingly focused and a hard worker. Art and photography classes have given her some outlet for her angst and creativity, though her pieces are often morbid and dark.

Abilities: Naya is strong not only for a demigod, but among minor gods as well. She is well aware of her power, but doesn't seem interested in using it to further any one side's ambitions. She enjoys shaking things up as needed, though.
• Shadow mimicry & control: Naya can take on a smoky and intangible form. It is difficult for her control, so she rarely extends this ability to her entire body. She can also manipulate the shadows around her. However, she cannot give them physical forms. 
• Night vision: she can see extremely well in the dark, and it is no deterrent to her. In fact, it seems that she can see better in the dark than she can in the light. She dislikes lit places in general, and she is sensitive to the light.
• Invisibility: Naya can manipulate the darkness around her to make herself unseen. It is not a perfect ability, however, and it is more an illusion than it is true invisibility. Fellow demigods are likely to see through it.

Short Bio: Naya was born into her father's care in the French countryside. One of her mother's many children, she didn't receive any special care from the Goddess of Night, but her father was at least aware of her godly nature. He raised her carefully, perhaps a little fearful of her potential as the years continued on and that godly nature proved to rather dark and untamable. She grew up in France, making trouble for other school children and rarely taking the blame for it. Her father was well aware of this, though, even if she played it as if she were innocent. 

As a result, all through her primary education years, he would return to the place had met her mother everyday. He needed help, but he had no way to contact an ancient goddess. At the end of her last day of primary school, he nearly gave up, but Nyx appeared to him. She was the one who suggested Olympus Academy, but she refused to meet her own daughter face to face. Needless to say, Naya was sent to the prestigious school.

She has been attending the school since freshman year, and she is a known trouble maker. The tricks that she had been able to get away with among humans do not pass so easily among demigods and immortal professors equipped with a deep understanding them. So, maybe unlike her father had hoped, the harmless pranks have been replaced with biting cruelty and impatience--but just not enough to get herself in trouble. In general, she has grown rather unlikeable to other students. Once she graduates, she intends on continuing her schooling in the world of art, but doesn't seem to have a clear sense of direction.

Ashton Caverly
It began with a strange message: Naya was graciously selected by her brother Hypnos to keep an eye on his godly child, Ashton. Babysitting has never been a gig for Naya, but even she wouldn't outright refuse a god's request. Besides, he's a little nerdy and spacey, and she'll gladly take an excuse to knock bullies' heads together.
