Oliver was there trying to defend her. He was being sweet and selfless, even if he was acting as if that Fury was the real one. A part of her still believed she hadn't seen the real Fury since she had gone into the program, something changed after.

Yeah, she failed a lot but they as a group succeed in fixing those mistakes. However, she had saved the whole world and her sister. She had beat Ultron before he had even been alive. And she changed the world so much in the process she had her sister again. And everyone else that had been lost in the quantum realm was back and alive.

And Bonnie was alive.

Yeah, she might be dating the jerk Flynn but she was alive to do that because of her. Because she had changed the world so much countless deaths never happened. So fuck this bear. Fuck her self doubt.

She couldn't stand-up. Her life was leaving through her leg but she didn't need to. Niah lifted her hand and closed it nearly to a fist only her middle finger still up in a salute. Fuck you. Niah didn't know if she even said it but the words were there in the air between her and everything she had ever done in her life. And she knew she'd never change any of it, not again. She liked where she got in her life. She was proud of herself. And so what if she died? At least she had done so proudly and fearless.

The bear stopped. Its paw paused midair and then it turned to dust. Like some terrible vampire film. The bear was gone.

Oh. She looked up at Oliver. "Hey. You did it." She smiled at him and things went dim.

Well, he hadn't been expecting the President. Matt wasn't American so he didn't have a lot of opinions about who the president was, as long as it wasn't the orange guy again. Matt shuddered at the thought. Cass was their best pilot, so they couldn't take off without her, but now they had to figure out if the President was the President or another Skrull. The ship he crashed had done a good job of taking out the attackers at least.

"President or Skrull, he isn't flying this ship if that's how he lands all the time." Apparently humor was how Matt dealt with having everything he believed be destroyed in one sentence. Where could they go for safety? They had to assume that more people had been switched with Skrull. They needed to touch bases with Oliver and Niah and learn what they had found out.

Andy didn't care which team she was on. She did however want to make a good impression. "I'll go with Veil too." She decided. And maybe that would pay back what she owed Veil for giving her a place for the night. Andy wanted to prove herself useful and worthy of the warm bed. Even if she stayed a few days it was all she had to offer.

Though it was good they had cures. Almost as soon as each of the ones who had been suffering from M-Pox took their dosage they were already looking better. So far she hadn't gotten to know the ones who were sick very well because they were sick and often vomiting rather than talking. Andy only felt close to Zarina and Kristin. It helped that they were close in age (even if Zarina's age was confusing). Zarina seemed to forgive her for what she had said the day before as well thankfully.

Ed didn't really have much to contribute to the conversation as they all discussed where Loki might be. He had helped how he could. He wanted to offer congratulations to Wanda as well, but since he didn't know her he didn't want to be weird. Ed felt like an outsider in this group right now. They were all greeting each other in the Stark Tower like old friends, which he decidedly was not. Nor did he want to be. That meant human connection and emotion.

When Runa said she and the other Asgardians would deal with Loki, he had an opinion. "No offense Runa, but we want to help. We all just had our day royally fucked over by Loki and need to get a little bit of revenge on this situation. I'm going." He said firmly. This was not how he expected his time with the X-men to go at all.

"I'm in." She smiled at Cass. She was glad Cass had asked her. Rose's other choice would have been Sierra and Willow, which would have also been fine. But she was fond of her faux-enemy on the shooting range, in a different way from Sierra. Hopefully, whoever Sierra's thrid was wouldn't be too imposing.

The room was nice and she considered if they could push the beds together, but kept her thought to herself sitting down on the edge of one of the beds and removed her shoes. She had finished her beer and the slightly fuzzy feeling was setting in. There was a lot she missed of home, but she could say her friends were here to back her up in a crazy situation.

"Yes, absolutely." Colby said quickly to Matt. He had no desire to share a room with anyone else on the team and since Jack was sharing a room with Megan and the other cop that left Matt and Colby as the only guys left. That was funny, he considered, did fairy tale characters make more female kids than male on average, or was their age bracket unusual?

Once in the room, he sighed relieved. It was just him and Matt and the cats. He flopped onto a bed sideways, Jack (the cat) leaping of his shoulder as he started to fall and landing on a pillow. Then the cat paced a bit before curling up on the pillow. "We should probably feed the cats before we fall asleep. I've got some cat food in my bag." The bag, he had unceremoniously dumped on the floor near the bed before he had laid down.

"I'm glad you were chill with sharing a room. I did not want to room with strangers that hate my guts." He said out loud. Colby flopped his arm over and held it out for Jack to sniff. The cat ignored him. "Great my cat hates me now too." He joked.

Andy was excited when their electrokinesis idea worked. With the daggers there as something to bounce off of she was able to knock out two of them and almost a third. She was excited about that and bounced pleased. Arthur held two in place but they were taken out before Andy could hit them with her electricity again.

"So more collecting or are we done here?" She asked. A part of her was nervous that Hephaestus would be pissed at them for killing some of his creations. She didn't know much about him, did he get along with her dad? Would he be mad that she had called lightning on his property?

Niah didn't pick up on anything that read as "mom would wanna drown this guy", which if she was honest with herself was surprising. He seemed like the type to have broken oaths. He was cursed to hold up the sky, which also seemed like a bad idea to be an ass to him. Even holding up the sky he was a little terrifying. She glanced at the hole in the wall he had made.

It was reassuring for Emily to have Marco there. She knew she was a reassurance for him, especially with how close he was to her. Emily certainly didn't mind though. Right now she didn't have much to contribute. And hadn't seen whatever it was that had pissed over Atlas so much to destroy a building with a rock. Or was that just because of Nancy teasing him?

Niah was going to start speaking but Marco had it well underhand. He was a powerful charmspeaker, she could tell. Niah turned back to face Atlas speaking her binding to him "The River Styx will recognize your oath." Her own voice was infused with power, the power of her mother running strong through her veins. The power had always been a double edge sword.

Em held Marco's hand. Her hand was warm from the excitement and exercise so far. She did look at Waverly and see the sympathy on her face. Em wanted to tell her that Atlas was a dick so there was no need for sympathy in his case. He deserved what he had gotten and worse in her opinion. But now, especially in front of Atlas, wasn't the time to explain stuff like that.

She smiled at Oliver. Appreciating him and what he had to say about them not dying here and now. Niah wanted to believe him. Wanted to believe that they could get out of this. She believed it was probably a simulation or something, it wasn't the first time she had been in one of those. Somehow they had been grabbed and put here without their noticing. Even thinking that she was still scared.

Even being totally prepared to die. Willing to protect not just Oliver but the whole world with her death if that was what it took. Maybe a part of her believed that her sister really was dead again and she just couldn't let that go. She couldn't forgive herself for failure. That was what she was afraid of. If she gave it thought and was honest to herself. She wasn't afraid of the bear or the Skrulls or the fall out from Hill's Laws. She was afraid of failing.

Niah lifted her hand with the pistol in it and fired it, again and again until she was out of bullets. Every ounce of that fear of failure was behind her hand as she pulled the trigger. Twice the bullets hit the bear and nothing happens. The despair in her heart hardening even more.

What the actual hell? Matt asked himself as everything went to shit. Iron man was a Skrull. Who else was? Maybe Oliver's crazy idea wasn't so crazy. Shit. Oliver and Niah were off on a different continent now alone and had no idea how deep this went. What if they had already been grabbed by Skrulls? Cass made it start to snow and he smiled telling her, "You give me chills." He winked as they started running toward the Quinjet.

He looked to Andrew "Yeah sort of. It is some sort of alien invasion. We've run into a few of them. Shit. Fake-Flynn. Did we hand him over to Skrulls or humans?" Fake-Flynn was their best source of information and now he might be back in Skrull hands. "They can look exactly like us, and I'm pretty certain able to copy our powers. It is complicated. We haven't figured out a fool proof method of confirming if someone is one or not. We did do DNA, but it is hard to tell if we had people replaced before or after we did that."

She let herself be dragged along through the floor and even the wall, but they were back in the Hospital. There was something very wrong with this place. It was dreamlike if she was honest with herself. She frowned and focused on her blindsense looking beyond the walls of the place, she suddenly felt a little nauseous as she did. It was like being in a fun mirror room.

She looked at Oliver, "Hey if we die here just know that I don't think you're evil. You're not your father or any of that shit. You're who you want to be, and who I've seen so far has been a hero. I'm glad I'm here with you too." Niah didn't mention anything about how he didn't get a chance to say goodbye to his mother or any of that other stuff. She hadn't known Oliver that well, she hadn't been with the team on the moon but she was proud of him.

Niah raised her chin and checked her pistol. Her heart was pounding and she was probably more scared then she had ever been in her life, which was saying something since she had literally watched friend's hearts be ripped out of their chest in front of her. Niah had changed the world with a single letter, she had brought her sister back from the dead. She had saved countless lives. She was proud of what she had accomplished.

"I shot her with an ICER. She's a kid and shouldn't be here. I didn't want her to get actually hurt." Matt told Bonnie. He was glad that the dart had taken effect and the girl was alright from the look of relief on Bonnie's face. Now the crazy girl who had literally put Cass's eye in her mouth was trying to hit him. He was able to doge, thankful for his hand-to-hand combat training. His power didn't work on her, and neither had an ICER dart...nor had literally breaking her neck.

"I think it is a little unfair they have a kid and someone who would give Deadpool a hard time here. You say you're for freedom but if your freedom means bringing actual teenagers into the battlefield like child soldiers I think you should reevaluate your ideas." Matt said loudly hoping the other fighters would hear his admonishments of their decisions and rethink their life choices. He could pull his actual pistol and shoot this girl till she dropped again, but considering how quickly she had healed from the broken neck that did seem like insanity. For any extended fight he would lose against her there was no doubt in his mind. He also knew he didn't want to abandon Cass, especially now that she was short an eye.

What would be good is getting that knife out of her hand. He reached out trying to grab her arm and twist it to take away her dagger, but she pulled away before he could get her. Son-of-a-gun.

Ed felt weird as they entered Stark Tower. He didn't feel like an X-Men yet and here he was just walking into Avenger's territory. He also wasn't certain if he had stepped on Runa's toes too much by doing the tracking spell. It wasn't that he thought he was better than her, he honestly hadn't even expected to get anything more than she had. At this point, though he was glad he had gotten some food and a bit of rest while everyone had been taken care of before flying over to the Tower.

Ed was a little disappointed in himself when Klara told Thor, her father, that she had lost her eye. He wondered if his healing skill could have brought it back. Ed doubted it though. His sister probably could have though. At least considering how pleased Klara seemed to be she wasn't upset that he hadn't as much as offered to try to fix it. Mostly he was glad he had been helpful in the fight. He had saved people, and protected them, and even taken out some of their enemies. For a lifetime of training and never having been in the field much he was thankful he hadn't botched it.

Andy didn't have a chance to explain what high school was to Zarina, but she decided she would later. Truth be told Andy had had so little proper education that she couldn't give much more than a pop-culture idea of what high school was. Most of her proper education had been broken up between shitty schools and homes, with only a little bit of good education in the form of homeschooling from Ash and Jamie.

Andy sat at the table feeling awkward being there. It felt like a war meeting or at least collecting before something very wrong happened. A tension left the room when a speedster with silver hair entered the room. Andy was surprised to learn they were there from Xavier himself with a vaccine. Andy hadn't caught M-pox so she doubted she needed the vaccine, somehow they had been okay when all the others caught it and started getting deadly ill. With a cure, Veil's group would be in better shape, and Andy doubted they'd want her to be with them for any of the stuff they were getting into, but they also wanted to help.

"I'll help wherever you need me." She offered, wanting to make up for the food she had eaten and the space she had taken. It was well drilled into Andy to give back what she could to those who helped her. Andy hoped that wherever she ended up she wasn't where the guy with the fire was though. She did not want to fight that guy, and luckily so far they had been able to avoid that. Veil hadn't seen her fight the earthquake guy, but she had seen her fight the Purifiers the day before.

Rose drank her beer without some much as taking a second glance at it. Draining the cup in one go. She was used to beer and this tasted like anything else she would have found at home, or rather, back on Earth. That was just fine with her. In fact, a part of her appreciated the normalcy of the whole thing. It made everything else settle down in her mind, made it all seem less strange.

"I've asked my questions." Rose said after she had finished her drink. She set it back on the bartop, sliding it toward Hansel. "Thanks for the drink I needed that." She smirked at Cass's joke. She leaned on the counter and put her chin in her hands propping up her head contemplating what they had to do the next day. "I'm gonna get some sleep, we do need to know the room arrangement." She said agreeing with Matthew. Rose didn't care if she ended up in a room with strangers, she just hoped Cass would be one of the people in her room no matter how it turned out.

Colby grimaced as he drank his beer. He had never had a beer before. He did not like it, but he drank it down as quickly as he could bear. His stomach twisting as he did. The alcohol hit his stomach like lead and he regretted drinking it, but it was too late. He burped, stood, went to the bar, and slid his now empty glass copying Rose's movements.

It didn't sound like anyone was sitting out the adventure. Colby realized. Everyone seemed to have claimed a team. He didn't quite remember everyone's name and thought maybe a quick round of reintroductions would be good before they got going. Or codenames so they wouldn't say their real names while on the mission. Not that any of their real names actually tied to who their parents here were. His name definitely didn't. He didn't say any of what he was thinking.

He did however smile at Matthew when he nervously asked about sleeping arrangements. There was no one else he wanted to share a room with so he hoped they would be able to pick and just it be the two of them in a room.
