Niah had to control her features when Cass asked about Jade. Realizing that going to the White House would involve meeting her again did not give Niah warm fuzzy feelings. She focused on her breakfast. They had something resembling a plan. It was better than some of their older plans which were stumbling into the situation and hope it works out. Which was how she had gotten shot and how Sparky had ended up in the Quantum Realm. Hopefully, they wouldn't be facing any issues like that. It was only shapeshifting aliens that could perfectly copy anyone and everyone. Her furrowed brow evened out.

"As much as I'd love to go on the Flerken hunt, I think I'll stay here." She let the group know. There were a few reasons why she was deciding that. She did love the idea of going to find Flerkens, but she knew she'd be sad to leave all the other animals behind. She also knew that she wasn't ready for that much activity. And she wanted to spend a bit of time trying to walk. Bonnie would be pissed she suspected and hoped she would go Flerken hunting.

She smiled brightly at the sound of kids. That was a pleasant sound. That was something she fought to survive every day. This place was a good reminder of why they did what they did. And Niah could see why Barton protected it so closely.

"Ah, congrats." That was what people said when other people said they had a kid, but it sounded a little awkward coming from Matt. He had come to the conclusion he wouldn't be having children. He couldn't have them as a male or female. Maybe if Cass wanted kids they could adopt or do surrogacy. He'd let her decide. He froze a little as he realized what his thought had been. Did he want kids with Cass?

"She's only a few months old but her x-gene is active?" He didn't know a lot about how mutants got their powers but he was pretty certain it was later in life, usually around puberty. "Uh, I'll go on the Flerken hunt. I like cats. And...cat-like creatures." He smiled. He thought about the dog that Skrull-Roman had given Flynn and wondered how it was doing. Had Skrull-Flynn cared for the dog? Was the dog a Skrull? Was that something they could do?

Andy was thinking of what she might be able to do. Could sending a bolt of electricity through the bomb prevent it from going off? Frying the circuitry. She should have asked Zari about computers more. She looked at the back of the man called X-cutioner. She remembered him from the fight at the college, but she hadn't really interacted with him. She had been dealing with the Purifiers during that fight.

How much damage could this bomb do? She had seen enough people sick with M-Pox, but had thankfully avoided getting sick. She looked over at Stareyes glad that she was okay and here with them. Then looked to Veil. Andy wasn't going to start anything prematurely. That had turned out real bad last time.

She took a long slow deep breath and thought of her parents and wondered what they would want her to do. Jamie believed in helping everyone. He taught special classes and was so caring that half the town had been friends with him. Ash had been just as caring. They would want her to help as many people as possible. They would want her to care about others.

It had been quiet at camp. She nodded at her brother's comment about why else would he be happy and laughed at his terrible puns. She waved at Zeke.

"Well I don't control the weather. But feel free to blame my dad. However, I think snow is nice. It is like resetting the world." She didn't know why the big three were fighting but figured that was just a sibling thing. "We should make snowmen or something though." She suggested. She had never actually made one and hoped Arthur would be interested in the prospect.

She looked over at her brother at the Hephaestus table and wondered what that was about. She'd have to ask him later.

"Good morning." She smiled at Nancy and Mads as they entered. "Did you two sleep okay?" She asked, not answering Mads question. "I am down for War Games planning, as usual." She smiled. Niah really did like planning for War Games. It let her think out puzzles and solutions to situations. Now it seemed a little tainted. All that practice and they had lost the most important battle. Her smile brightened as she covered up the thought.

She turned to her fellow Centurion, "Catch you in a few?" He nodded. The familiar beats of life being made in those moments. Something she didn't want to be made here. This was a step in a longer journey. A drop in a river of life.

It was a relief to see Mary and Guin. He knew the others were at least in the same area. He'd have to recast the tracking spell to find them again if they didn't find them by chance. There were enough people...and uh...talking trees and raccoons that it might not be easy.

"I found some of the others. Pietro is up several levels. I can't tell how far, but he's alright. Annie is close." He told them as he came into hearing range of them. He wanted Guin to know that Pietro was safe in case she hadn't already gotten into contact with him. Damn telepaths. He tried to keep the irritation of that out of his face.

He did side glance at the tree and raccoon. Confused as to how either was in jail. Who puts a raccoon in jail? Or a tree for that matter?

Rose was exasperated. Mistakes had been made. It was too late to take them back. They could only try to act better in the future. But she knew perfectly well she would stand up to tyrants no matter how small she was in comparison to them. Not that she knew the political system that was in place here, but if there was this much drama over it, it had to go. Megan seemed like the type that if she got put in power would probably turn everything on its head, which could be a good thing.

This was no bar fight Rose could hope to break up by offering to comp a couple of beers and then have the bounce quietly walk the dudes out. She realized that her skills while great for wilderness were not great for navigating an essentially foreign land. She froze. Her mind only thinking to go for a Bolo punch, but her body didn't respond.

Colby was distracted by the cat that caught his attention. The odd markings drew his attention first, and then that the cat seemed to appear randomly several times along their walk. Colby couldn't tell if the cat was actually following them or if it just happened to have a similar pathing. He was about to ask Maddie if he noticed the strange feline as well.

Unfortunately, their group was stopped by a guard. Why the guard picked on Megan over anyone else was beyond Colby. But that turned into her dashing for outside the city limits.

"You know that sore looks infected you should probably go see a healer about it." Colby said catching the guard's attention. He looked at Colby confused and Megan disappeared into the crowd and out the gates. He was grinning his silly half grin that Maddie knew usually meant Colby was doing something stupid.

Andy stood off to the back. She couldn't help here. She didn't even have an idea of what to do to stop the bombs. She knew how to use a computer but that was for things like the internet, not finding and defusing bombs. She couldn't heal. She couldn't do anything but punch things and kill them. Would Veil kick her out if she killed someone? Andy looked down at her hands. This wasn't really the place for her was it? She was going to have to decide soon if she wanted to stay with this group. Veil had offered it, but would she if she knew the truth about her?

She watched nervously as Max started healing Stareyes. If he failed she didn't know what would happen. Stareyes said she was sisters with someone in SHIELD. Her thoughts paused, if Stareyes survived could she call her sister and tell her about the bombs? Would they care?"If Stareyes survives...maybe she can ask her sister for help? Explain the situation to her and get more people involved in saving the city." The task seemed so big and even Harry didn't have something for her to do to help.

Andy smiled listening to her brother sing. He was in a good mood. She got ready for the day, pulling on a jacket that seemed to have shrunk over the winter. She was used to wearing layers of clothing. And while her brother had given her some clothing they all seemed a little small for her now. Even her shoes were small. She didn't say anything. That was the part of her that didn't like to take up space and didn't know how to ask for help in charge there. But she was warm and for her, that was what mattered.

When she was done getting ready she made her way to the Pavilion and got a muffin. She sat at Zeus' table, but knew that as soon as Arthur arrived she'd either move to sit with him or he would join her. Her brother was so happy it was cute and it made her happy. She got a muffin and her cup filled with apple juice. "You seem extra happy today." She told Demi smiling up at him.

The bustle of Legionnaires waking up and starting their day woke Niah. She hadn't slept that well. Not that she had had a nightmare or anything, just she hadn't been sleeping well at all since they had come to Camp Half-Blood. It wasn't her home and she knew it. She sighed and got up and ready for the day.

Niah suddenly missed the cafe and meeting Nancy and Mads for coffee, even if she never drank coffee. Though watching Nancy test the human body's limits on how much sugar it can intake in one drink was always amusing. It was a simple desire, but for something long gone. Hiraeth. The only Welsh word Niah knew. It meant to have longing or nostalgia, an earnest longing or desire, or a sense of regret. The feeling of longing for a home that no longer exists or never was. A deep and irrational bond felt with a time, era, place or person.

If there was a better word for how she felt, and probably most of the Legion felt, she'd be surprised. When she finished getting ready she started making sure her cohort got their morning tasks done. There was always something to do.

The doors opened and a voice gave them permission to move around the Jail. That gave Ed a bit of breathing room, now it made doing the tracking spell worthwhile. Though it still had the flaw of pointing directly to his target rather than giving him a path to them. But it would at least give them something to work with.

Ed was thankful that he still had his vials with everyone's hair in them. He pulled out the one for Mary. For the most part, he could have gotten away without labeling them, but it was smarter to do so. Mary's was easy enough to distinguish though. He removed the strand of hair and was glad this spell didn't use up the hair, he could reuse it later. He attached it carefully with practiced movements to his compass needle and quickly said the familiar incantation. The needle pointed to the right immediately.

"Mary is that way." He said pointing for Lance's sake in the direction Mary was. "I think she's on our level, and fairly close." Ed switched the hair out for Annie's. He worried about her. They had a friendship and she would be easy pickings for someone who wanted to show off. He repeated the incantation for her hair and pointed to the left, and up this time.

"Annie's that way, I think a bit farther away, up a level, and moving cause the needle isn't staying put." He paused and chewed his lip. Was Pietro alive? Had the guards taken him out. He repeated the process for Pietro's hair and the needle moved settling on a point that seemed far away and up a level, maybe more.

"Pietro is alive. Let's get Mary and Annie, we might find some of the others with them if we weren't the only ones grouped." Ed slid off his bed and started down the right toward where Mary's needle had pointed.

She frowned a little bit at Bonnie putting her on the sideline but it was the right move so she nodded. She had to accept she had new limitations. How long would it be till she could run again? Her heart ached suddenly at the thought that she might never be able to again. Niah took a slow breath. No. She wouldn't accept that. She would learn how to walk with the robotic leg Dr. Larson had given her. She'd learn what all it could do.

"We're going to need a lot more cat treats." Niah smiled at the idea of having more Flerkens around. "Sparky just show me what you want me to do. I can press the buttons you want to be pressed." She smiled. She knew robotics but that knowledge didn't extend to how to hack or anything like that. It would be best for her to just be support for Sparky in this case.

"Yeah, Matt Moss." He told Evelyn with a nod. The plan for the White House was solid. They could easily get in and make the switch with the fake president. He frowned, who was Alcie? "Uh, sorry I don't pay much attention to who's who in the White House, who is Alcie?" Matt asked Alex.

"Can we get blueprints for where the convention is being held?" There were enough people with high computer competency for one of them to get them he was sure. They needed to know their exits. "Alex were you briefed on what the conference is about?" He sort of hoped there was a dossier they could look over.

Madalyne Crane

Andy Phillips Crane

Date: July 1st
Location: Camp Half-Blood
Skills: N/A

Madalyne sat in the largest tent that the Legion had created after the fall of New Rome they were given permission to stay in Camp Half-Blood for however long they needed to be. Madalyne and Alexandra were working on sorting through their records. She was looking over a map of Camp Jupiter thinking of a way to retake their home once they were able to Madalyne finished fixing her hair into a ponytail. The rest of the Legion were busy working on some drills and sparing as well.

Andy was glad to be back on her home soil, so to speak. She felt bad that they couldn't keep New Rome from falling and was glad that they had invited all of them to stay with them. It made things crowded, but they'd figure it out. She knew Arthur was devastated though since he had been hopeful that New Rome could have given them a chance at real life. Maybe whatever the Romans figured out they'd let them join. Speaking of the Romans. There was one, in particular, she wanted to talk about.

Andy gathered the book that Madalyne Crane had given her just as the Battle of New Rome had begun. It had information in it that Andy didn't know how to interpret. But Madalyne said she would help. So she, with the book, went to the tent that Madalyne was using as her base of operations. Andy wondered if they'd just stay there and have the Hephestus kids make new cabins. Would the two worlds merge? "Uh, knock, knock." Andy said outside the tent since she didn't see a way to knock on fabric.

Madalyne turned her attention she looked at Alexandra for a moment and nodded her that she was free to go for now, she gave a nod and decided to hit the Dining Pavilion that the Greeks were using for meals. "Hey, Andy was it right?" Madalyne asked, the time was rather busy and focused on setting up camp within the Greek's. "What's up?" She asked her.

"Hi, yeah." Andy said. Nodding as Alexandra left. "Andy. Uh. I have the book still. I thought maybe if you have time right now." She trailed off and held up the book. It was big and heavy for the small girl. "If it is a bad time though I can come back." She wanted to get this cleared up before the seventh. She wanted to know what Hecate had to tell her before her birthday.

Madalyne instantly remembered now the night that New Rome had fallen, she had been so busy with setting up everything for the Legion with Nancy and setting up shop in the Greek's camp that she had given Andy her family records. "We can do this now, just pull up a seat." She said gesturing to one of the many chairs that were in the tent.

"Thank you." Andy said taking a seat and awkwardly moving the chair with the book under one arm. She didn't know what to say really about the whole situation of Madalyne having to move here. As such she decided to avoid the situation. "So, what Hecate said was to look at the Crane family records, but I'm not sure how that'll help me." Andy took a deep breath. "See when I was a toddler I was left at a hospital. No one ever found who my parents were. When I found out I was a demi-god that made some sense. But everyone still has mortal parents right?"

Madalyne gently took the book and laid it out onto the table and opened it up, she decided to search through the last fifty years or so. She looked over at Andy for a moment. "Yeah just about everyone has a godly parent and a mortal parent as well too." She said as she looked at some family. "Though most of my mortal family members are probably dead by now, technically I'm in my fifties right now give or take." She said, as she thought for a moment. "Do you know of any documentation like where you were born or birth year?" She asked.

"Uh, you look good for being in your fifties?" Andy looked at her confused. Madalyne looked to be in her teens. How was she in her fifties? Did being a demi-god slow people's aging? If so she might be older. "Best guess is 2009 for when I was born. The system gave me the birthday of July Seventh." She looked down at her hands. It felt weird telling Madyalne her birthday because it was in so few days. Andy didn't like to think about her birthday much since it was another day for her. She hadn't had a proper birthday ever in her memory. "When I was found they guessed I was two. I wasn't old enough to remember much. I know my first name is Andy, but it could be short for something. I was in Pennsylvania. So I might have been born there." She answered.

Madalyne thought for a moment and knew that it probably needed some explanation why she was in her fifties. "Theres a place called The Lotus Hotel and Casino it's in Las Vegas Nevada. Time moves differently in there, a day could mean an actual year or something like that thats where I met Nancy she somehow got there to." She explained as she looked down, she knew that her parents were dead so she went to the closest family, her aunt and uncle who had taken her in. She remembered having two cousins, both of them were really young as she found two names, and looked over at Andy for a moment.

"So says here and I met them when I was younger I have two cousins named Sherri and Chase Crane." Madalyne said as she looked at the names seeing if they had any children, Chase didn't have any kids from the looks of it. However, Sherri did have a child and was also marked with a thunderbolt symbolling Jupiter but didn't have a name. "I think Sherri might be your mom." Madalyne said looking over at Andy.

Andy looked both horrified and a little relieved when Madalyn explained the Lotus Hotel. "Right." She shook her head pushing the thought of what the place was out of her mind for now. She'd have to digest that later. "Sherri Crane." She said. It was her mom's name, hopefully. "Do you know what happened to her?" In all her life Andy had never really craved answers as much as she did at this moment. "So we are related? How? Like I know Demi is my half-brother. And like I guess Arthur is sort of my cousin? But what does that make you?"

"I think this makes me your aunt?" Madalyne said, she was happy to know that she had family now as she looked back at the records and pointed to her mother's name and Andy's mother's name. "My mom and your mom were siblings." She said as she looked more at the record and looked at Andy sighing slightly. "Looks like the records said she died August 17th 2009." Madalyne said looking at Andy for a moment, which was during the second day during the Battle of Manhattan in the Second Olympian War.

"My Aunt." She smiled. But then frowned when Madalyne told her when her mother had died. She had been so young. Only a few weeks. What did that mean? She was somewhere and belonged to someone for a while. But who? "I wonder who was taking care of me then. That's almost two years unaccounted for." She shook her head.
"I know you don't know the answer just thinking aloud."

Madalyne thought for a moment, she wasn't sure either with that amount of time as she looked at Andy. "We could try and look into it, after this whole thing is said and done." She said, she just hoped that they would live through this after the fall of New Rome.

Andy nodded slowly. "Yeah, I think I want to know now. Before when I didn't know anything and just assumed I had been abandoned by my parents I didn't care. I didn't want to know. But now that I know my mom didn't abandon me I want to know who did. I want to know why." Her voice hitched. As far as Andy had been concerned her whole life had been bouncing between homes because she wasn't good enough.

Madalyne reached over and gently rested a hand on Andy's shoulder and gave her a smile, Andy was her family and she would make sure that she was going to be okay. "We'll look into it I promise you, and when we retake New Rome if you'd like you are more than welcome to live there with me if you choose to." Madalyne offered, she paused for a moment and looked at her arm for a moment where she had been bit by a werewolf a month ago she was contemplating on telling Andy about it.

"Thank you. I appreciate it. And I probably will take you up on that. I know that Arthur wants to live there someday too." She said smiling. It was a sudden burst of hope for the future that gave her that smile. Andy wasn't much of a hugger, she didn't care for physical contact because of her life up to this point had not made that a good experience. But she didn't pull away from Madalyne's touch. It was like with her brother. An instant bond formed for her and she trusted Madalyne.

Madalyne gave Andy a friendly smile as she gently rested a hand on her shoulder, she was glad that she had a relative now that she could actually talk to now. Niah and Nancy were like sisters to her, but sometimes they were busy with all of their other duties as well to when she didn't have anything to do. "You'll like it there once we reclaim it back from the Giants and Titans, we even have a university there too for when you are older too." Madalyne said to Andy.

"I've never given much thought to school. I honestly didn't expect to live long enough to get into a college." She told Madalyne honestly. "That was before I even knew I was a demi-god. I've got a lot of school to catch up on if I do go to college though." She'd have to ask Kristin to help her be smart enough for that sort of thing.
