Edus Penior

Skill: Magic

Thalia's ability to turn back time, even a little bit, was a huge asset. However, it seemed to be taking a toll on her. He walked over to her and held out his hand, not quite touching her.

"I'm afraid we don't have time for you to rest." He said quietly. Then orange light emanated from his hand, healing Thalia.

Then he moved to catch up with Jade at the door she was listening to. He couldn't make out any of the voices on the other side. He couldn't even be certain how many people were in the room. He prepared himself to throw force blasts at whoever was on the other side of the door. Imagining them as sharp as possible. He nodded when he was ready.

Ed Penior

Location: The woods (Mary's group)
Skills: Shield; Force

Ed didn't trust that Quicksilver wouldn't be able to escape his bubble. He needed to get him away from the fight. He also knew that just sending him off wouldn't keep him from rejoining the fight. So he flicked his hand up, and the bubble went up a bit, but not enough to keep Quicksilver from being able to rejoin the fight. Ed flicked it again. He knew that if Quicksilver escaped the bubble or if he lost the bubble, then it was likely Quicksilver would fall to his death. But he was out of the fight for now.

He focused on Phantazia. He didn't know what she could do, but distracting her might help. He threw several force blasts at her trying to knock her out. He knocked her over. She'd probably focus on him now. Maybe she knew that Quicksilver's life was in his hands; maybe she didn't care.

Mage

Location: The woods (Hellfire Club)(Runa's group)
Skills: Magic

The woman said some sharp words. Mage was briefly frozen. His counterpart had to have told the group the laws. There was no other option. And she wasn't wrong. His sister's face played in his mind. The Hulk was an issue, though. He couldn't allow this being to keep throwing things at them.

With Rouge's help, he was able to dodge most of it. And the rest, he throws up shields to protect them. When a gap in detritus was available, Mage threw force blasts at the Hulk backward. That gave them a bit of reprieve. He took a moment to respond to the woman.

"Maybe the Edus you know has been able to avoid breaking the laws, but in this world, it is impossible. The laws were written in an older time for a better world. They were optimistic."

Rose Buckner

Location: The Moors
Skills: Bow hunting

Rose rolled her shoulder and drew her bow. Rosalia was trying to say they not take these guys out. She understood. But there were non-combatants back where they had come from. If these men stumbled upon them, they could cause more damage. The better choice was for those who could fight to take them out. "You don't have to fight, but the options are taking these men out and risk discovery from their absence or risk these men finding the camp and hurting those who can't defend themselves. I know where I land on that choice."

She pulled the bow letting loose an arrow. It missed, but her next two hit home and killed two men. The fourth arrow didn't hit either. But she was okay with that. Two men were dead. But the people she was trying to protect would be that much safer. There were still a few men standing.

Colby Jackson

Location: Agrabah
Skills:

Colby was in awe of the sight before them. The city that had been lost. A chill went through him, though, as he thought about it. So much lost history. He had smiled wryly at Maddie's joke about the skeletons. Suddenly glad Rosalia wasn't with them. He hoped whoever she was annoying was getting through it.

When they entered the house on the surface, he looked around, interested. The place must have been put there by smugglers and intentionally left decrepit. He couldn't imagine someone living there. From here, they could get back to Merlin's tower. They should be far enough away from Agrabah that their magic detecting shouldn't find them here.

Andy listened as Mary talked about herself. She was trying to think if she had heard anything about Mary having a twin sister. If they were twins, was the sister at camp too? They paused as they entered a new room. This one looked like a wreck.

"Wow." She bet a Hephestous kid would have a field day in the room. "I'm gonna poke around to see if anything is interesting." Andy wasn't much of a tinkerer. But maybe she'd find something useful. She carefully started to poke around. "You too, Chocolate; let me know if you find anything cool." She suggested to the pup.

Niah went up to the counter of the food car. "Can I get a coffee and a roast beef sandwich?" The cold food on the train was not always great, but she didn't want to think about the hot food. It'd all be microwaved. But the coffee was what she really wanted. Jason had all their money.

"Stella, come order too." She had no idea what Arbor could eat. "You can offer him something and see if he likes it." Niah shrugged. She knew monsters could have weird needs. She hoped she could delay enough for Jason to join them with the money. They probably couldn't use credit cards, but cash would be fine.

The rest of the fight started to come back into sharp focus when Andy noticed that Zari was nearby. And weirdly small. While Selene was distracted by Max and Zari, Andy realized what was happening. She had drawn in the souls from Selene and grown. She was glowing blue too. Her stunned realization didn't get long to sit because Selene bit into her neck. Actually bit into it. The world seemed to start to grow and Selene even more so. Andy guessed she was shrinking again.

Selene was taking back the souls Andy had stolen from her. Andy had two choices. Zap or steal. She wasn't getting out of her mother's fangs without serious damage. Her mother's fangs. Andy pulled at the part of her that was pure electricity. And sent it through her neck into her mother's mouth. This was definitely going to lead to some weird complex if she survived.

Her electricity didn't come. She just didn't have enough energy for it, which was weird, considering she was still a giant. There was something weirdly reassuring about the moment. Andy almost wanted to relax. To just let herself be subsumed. Her eyes caught Zari. And anger flared through her. If she failed, Zari would never be born. It led to some really weird paradoxes. What mattered was she couldn't let that happen.

Instead of relying on her electricity, she pulled again on the energy. That intoxicating energy filled her. She felt the world grow small again. She was growing again. Then it started to slip. She felt bloated. She couldn't hold any more of the souls. Selene was taking them back, and she couldn't draw in anymore. She tried shunting them away from Selene, but Selene was like a vacuum and sucked them back up again.

She couldn't do anything more than this. Despair filled Andy. She couldn't defeat Selene and the others hadn't been able to do anything yet either. No. She couldn't allow it. But she couldn't do it alone. She needed help. Someone had to be able to take the souls away safely. One of the magic users... or...there was one person who could help.

Niah would much rather protect the nameless woman in green. Luminous could choke on an egg. She nodded when Raynor gave his truncated introduction. Niah wondered which of their party Klara knew. She didn't particularly like that Raynor introduced Oliver by invoking Thanos. It was likely Klara knew who that was.

She watched Klara's face wondering what Raynor said. It was in a language she didn't know. There wasn't anything to add right now. The questions had been asked. Hopefully, Klara knew something.

Well, this was going to be interesting. Matt wasn't surprised by his own truncated introduction. He hadn't really talked about his parents with anyone in the group other than Cass. She probably was the only one who even knew he had a sister. He didn't think adding his parents' names to the conversation was necessary. If Klara knew them, he'd be surprised.

He thought about what Oliver said as well. He wondered why he had jumped to the conclusion that it was Luminous that they had to protect when another person was potentially killed in the vision. Magic was weird. Matt was not equipped to deal with magic stuff. Their group had zero magic users too. Unless you counted whatever it was Raynor could do with lies. Niah's power was tangentially related to magic but not enough to be useful in that department.

Ed had a trick that might work. The flames curled up the walls. The fire was licking at them. The heat was causing pain Ed didn't think he could ignore for long. But he could do something. He sent a barrage of force blasts down the hall.

They pounded into Pyro, knocking him backward. The flamethrower stopped producing more fire. It was too late, though. The hallway was engulfed in flames. He had no idea if Thalia could make it down the hallway to Pyro. Did they have a way out? Was the building going to go down? If they were lucky, it might take Magneto out. He doubted it would.

Niah didn't really try to hide her disgust at the idea of trying to protect Luminous. The woman had caused her a lot of grief. Some of it didn't even belong in the universe she was from anymore. But it also made some sense in a twisted way. She honestly didn't know if she could protect Luminous.

She tilted her head at the name. It was familiar. She had met Klara in Wanda's creation. She hadn't talked with her much since she was dealing with a whole lot of emotion at the time. And then bringing Wanda down. But she had met Klara. Not that this Klara would know that. Or even the one she had met would remember her. Niah didn't think she had retained her memories. So few had.

She followed Raynor into the home of his cousin. It was a nice little place. She decided that this Klara had a good aesthetic, at least.

Matt stared at Oliver, concerned. This would be really complicated if they had to protect Luminous from Doom. Bonnie was asking follow-up questions. He wondered what she might be thinking. He followed into the house. It was a nice little place. He liked it. The smell was particularly pleasant.

He stood by Cass, waiting to see if Klara would come out and speak to them. It had seemed she was welcoming them. For Raynor's sake, he hoped that that was a good sign. He figured it would get even more complicated if she didn't.

The rest of the fight fell away. Andy lost track of it. But that didn't matter. Selene had shrugged off her attack, which was expected. But she had started to grow. She was gigantic and still growing. Andy's heart pounded in fear. A whole lot of fear. Selene picked her up. She was like a little kid's toy in her hands.

"Only, you shouldn't have touched me." Normally, Andy would have reached for the lightning in her. But she had a new skill. Something her mother, Selene herself, had given her. And she pulled. After a second she felt that she was being pulled on. Selene was taking from her. That couldn't be allowed. She gritted her teeth, a brief thought of an annoyed dentist almost made her laugh, and she pulled again.

It wasn't like lightening. But it felt good. She pulled and pulled. She wasn't going to win. That was impossible. But for now the power that was entering her felt like the world was at her fingertips. She didn't even notice she was growing. She did notice that Selene was shrinking. That the hands around her no longer felt like a giant holding something small. But that their sizes were starting to equal out.

Andy nodded; she wasn't totally mollified, but if her aunt insisted she was fine, she'd accept it. She closed the box and put it back in her backpack. "Yeah, I'm good to go." She glanced at where the monster had been.

Chocolate was close to her, whimpering nervously. She was glad the pup had stayed out of danger. She looked down and patted him gently on the head. "I'm glad you're here. Though that means Arthur doesn't have you." She didn't like that he didn't have the pup with him anymore. They had found Chocolate together. So maybe the puppy had just wanted to be with her instead. Arthur was supposed to be heading underwater, and maybe he couldn't take him with him. That made sense and made her feel better about it.

Niah did not envy Jason. Speaking with your godly parent was always...awkward. She and her mom got along well enough, but she was raised among Romans. She had little interaction with her mom. But he was bringing some good news. The cyclopses were no longer a problem. She didn't want to guess what the spear would be for, but it was a godly gift so it would be useful later.

"Yeah, I could eat too." She told Stella. She tucked her new book under her arm and started down the train toward the dining car. She had eaten Amtrak food before. It wasn't anything to write home about, which meant it was neither the worst thing nor anything fancy. But it was food.
