Andy nodded; she wasn't totally mollified, but if her aunt insisted she was fine, she'd accept it. She closed the box and put it back in her backpack.
"Yeah, I'm good to go." She glanced at where the monster had been.
Chocolate was close to her, whimpering nervously. She was glad the pup had stayed out of danger. She looked down and patted him gently on the head.
"I'm glad you're here. Though that means Arthur doesn't have you." She didn't like that he didn't have the pup with him anymore. They had found Chocolate together. So maybe the puppy had just wanted to be with her instead. Arthur was supposed to be heading underwater, and maybe he couldn't take him with him. That made sense and made her feel better about it.

Niah did not envy Jason. Speaking with your godly parent was always...awkward. She and her mom got along well enough, but she was raised among Romans. She had little interaction with her mom. But he was bringing some good news. The cyclopses were no longer a problem. She didn't want to guess what the spear would be for, but it was a godly gift so it would be useful later.
"Yeah, I could eat too." She told Stella. She tucked her new book under her arm and started down the train toward the dining car. She had eaten Amtrak food before. It wasn't anything to write home about, which meant it was neither the worst thing nor anything fancy. But it was food.
