Andy was at a loss for what to do. Selene was starting just to leave, which, honestly, Andy couldn't blame her for doing. But it made defeating her really difficult. Magento surrounded Selene with metal, and she was about to take advantage of that when Max explained that they needed to make a circuit. She didn't understand, but her part of the task she could do.

Casper was back in the fight too. She could shunt souls at him, making this whole thing a lot easier for her. She held up one hand directed toward Selene and the other toward Casper. In one, out the other. She started to pull and push at the same time. It was still an intoxicating feeling. She could swim in the feeling of soaking up souls.

But she focused on the idea of Zari. If they failed, Zari would never exist. The world was doomed. She couldn't allow that. She didn't want a world without Zari in it.

Andy was feeling better. She wondered if it was because she wasn't touching Selene anymore. Or if she was feeling better because she was getting used to being bloated with souls. She didn't particularly like the implications of the latter. The others were getting even more involved now. Selene was distracted by Max. Whatever he had done had pissed her off.

Andy wanted to shrink and disappear from the situation. She was tired. She felt like she had done her part trying to stop Selene. She looked around and found Zari in the group. It was made easier since she had her pegasus with her.

"Can you ferry any of the souls I have away?" She asked her. Since Zari could do the Valkrie thing, she could probably help some of the souls move on. And Andy couldn't handle anymore, really.

Niah wondered if Silvie was aware of who she was. That was a question for later. She also sort of agreed with Raynor in wondering who it might be from their universe. A few options came to her mind. Or maybe it was someone living a simple life. She would if she could.

Arriving at the battlefield, Niah took in the scene. Her heart twisted a little at the Doombots. She glanced at Bonnie. Even knowing these weren't the same, she was still nervous.

How did he get that many that quickly? It hadn't been that many days, right? For now, it didn't matter. They needed to stop him. And at least she didn't feel she had to protect Luminous.

A brief thought of the need for armor and it appeared on her. The armor looked like Kree armor, which made sense, considering it was coming from her leg.

"Hey, Doom! Remember me?"

“Why should one such as yourself matter to DOOM?”

That was actually reassuring to Niah. The fear that he might have known who she was and held it against her despite the reality having been erased had made her nervous.

Matt listened to the explanation about Nexus. Was Doom trying to steal her powers? Manipulate her or something? He had no idea. He wasn't even certain he could begin to figure out the plan. With the future Oliver had seen, it seemed like a really bad choice on Doom's part. And wasn't he supposed to be smart? Total destruction of the universe and all universes following after seemed like it would backfire.

Matt didn't think his touch would do much, but he might as well try. It was good for distraction. Right? So he dashed forward, joining the fray with the others. And somehow, when he touched the shield, it worked. The shield stopped working. It was down. He stared, a little surprised by that. Wondering how that worked.

The fight was over. Rosalia had run off. Rose wasn't surprised. She wanted to empathize with the girl, but Rosalia made it difficult. She took the arrows from Layla. "Thank you."

Their escape route back to the tower was clear. And now they didn't have to worry about having Malificent's men at their backs. Or the possibility of them coming across the tower and those holed up there. Rosalia had a point in that there were several other ways they could be discovered, but Rose felt better about clearing out the enemies behind them soon.

"Should we wait for them? Get this place cleared and covered. Maybe make it look like the guys moved on from here to somewhere else." She considered putting the bodies on the backs of the horses with their things and riding one of the horses in a direction away from the castle and the tower.

Colby raised an eyebrow at Maddie's question. He shook his head. Then looked at Tink when she said it was time to get going. She opened a portal, and Colby sighed, a little relieved to see a place without desert on the other side. The blessedly familiar tower of Merlin's.

He stepped through the portal. On the other side, he went looking for the cats. They had been left here for their safety. Considering Silky was basically a pure magical being, that was a good thing. He did not want to think what the guards of Agrabah would have done to her.

"Jackson Galaxy, Silky" He said pleasantly.

Andy thought the things she found were interesting. "Good boy, Chocolate." She told the hellhound before starting to open the chest she had found. Inside seemed to parts for the sets of wings that were nearby. That made sense. She had no idea what the purpose of the wings was.

Andy then moved over to the toolbox thing that Chocolate had found. Inside were more parts for the wings. She frowned. These wings must have been a major focus of whoever worked in the room.

"Hey, Mads, I think I found something important, but I don't get it." She said, looking up from the stuff. She held up a part of the wings.

Niah waved as Jason joined them. She was a little antsy. Even knowing that Ares said they were safe from the cyclopses. Or maybe because of that. She knew how many quests could go sideways. She always slept better after a fight on a quest.

Stella placed her order. She was glad that the guy didn't seem to want to parent her. She hated that she was still underage. When she turned, 18 quests would be easier. Unaccompanied minor issues abounded. Usually, the mist seemed to make it easier.

Edus Penior

Skill: Magic

Thalia's ability to turn back time, even a little bit, was a huge asset. However, it seemed to be taking a toll on her. He walked over to her and held out his hand, not quite touching her.

"I'm afraid we don't have time for you to rest." He said quietly. Then orange light emanated from his hand, healing Thalia.

Then he moved to catch up with Jade at the door she was listening to. He couldn't make out any of the voices on the other side. He couldn't even be certain how many people were in the room. He prepared himself to throw force blasts at whoever was on the other side of the door. Imagining them as sharp as possible. He nodded when he was ready.

Ed Penior

Location: The woods (Mary's group)
Skills: Shield; Force

Ed didn't trust that Quicksilver wouldn't be able to escape his bubble. He needed to get him away from the fight. He also knew that just sending him off wouldn't keep him from rejoining the fight. So he flicked his hand up, and the bubble went up a bit, but not enough to keep Quicksilver from being able to rejoin the fight. Ed flicked it again. He knew that if Quicksilver escaped the bubble or if he lost the bubble, then it was likely Quicksilver would fall to his death. But he was out of the fight for now.

He focused on Phantazia. He didn't know what she could do, but distracting her might help. He threw several force blasts at her trying to knock her out. He knocked her over. She'd probably focus on him now. Maybe she knew that Quicksilver's life was in his hands; maybe she didn't care.

Mage

Location: The woods (Hellfire Club)(Runa's group)
Skills: Magic

The woman said some sharp words. Mage was briefly frozen. His counterpart had to have told the group the laws. There was no other option. And she wasn't wrong. His sister's face played in his mind. The Hulk was an issue, though. He couldn't allow this being to keep throwing things at them.

With Rouge's help, he was able to dodge most of it. And the rest, he throws up shields to protect them. When a gap in detritus was available, Mage threw force blasts at the Hulk backward. That gave them a bit of reprieve. He took a moment to respond to the woman.

"Maybe the Edus you know has been able to avoid breaking the laws, but in this world, it is impossible. The laws were written in an older time for a better world. They were optimistic."

Rose Buckner

Location: The Moors
Skills: Bow hunting

Rose rolled her shoulder and drew her bow. Rosalia was trying to say they not take these guys out. She understood. But there were non-combatants back where they had come from. If these men stumbled upon them, they could cause more damage. The better choice was for those who could fight to take them out. "You don't have to fight, but the options are taking these men out and risk discovery from their absence or risk these men finding the camp and hurting those who can't defend themselves. I know where I land on that choice."

She pulled the bow letting loose an arrow. It missed, but her next two hit home and killed two men. The fourth arrow didn't hit either. But she was okay with that. Two men were dead. But the people she was trying to protect would be that much safer. There were still a few men standing.

Colby Jackson

Location: Agrabah
Skills:

Colby was in awe of the sight before them. The city that had been lost. A chill went through him, though, as he thought about it. So much lost history. He had smiled wryly at Maddie's joke about the skeletons. Suddenly glad Rosalia wasn't with them. He hoped whoever she was annoying was getting through it.

When they entered the house on the surface, he looked around, interested. The place must have been put there by smugglers and intentionally left decrepit. He couldn't imagine someone living there. From here, they could get back to Merlin's tower. They should be far enough away from Agrabah that their magic detecting shouldn't find them here.

Andy listened as Mary talked about herself. She was trying to think if she had heard anything about Mary having a twin sister. If they were twins, was the sister at camp too? They paused as they entered a new room. This one looked like a wreck.

"Wow." She bet a Hephestous kid would have a field day in the room. "I'm gonna poke around to see if anything is interesting." Andy wasn't much of a tinkerer. But maybe she'd find something useful. She carefully started to poke around. "You too, Chocolate; let me know if you find anything cool." She suggested to the pup.

Niah went up to the counter of the food car. "Can I get a coffee and a roast beef sandwich?" The cold food on the train was not always great, but she didn't want to think about the hot food. It'd all be microwaved. But the coffee was what she really wanted. Jason had all their money.

"Stella, come order too." She had no idea what Arbor could eat. "You can offer him something and see if he likes it." Niah shrugged. She knew monsters could have weird needs. She hoped she could delay enough for Jason to join them with the money. They probably couldn't use credit cards, but cash would be fine.

The rest of the fight started to come back into sharp focus when Andy noticed that Zari was nearby. And weirdly small. While Selene was distracted by Max and Zari, Andy realized what was happening. She had drawn in the souls from Selene and grown. She was glowing blue too. Her stunned realization didn't get long to sit because Selene bit into her neck. Actually bit into it. The world seemed to start to grow and Selene even more so. Andy guessed she was shrinking again.

Selene was taking back the souls Andy had stolen from her. Andy had two choices. Zap or steal. She wasn't getting out of her mother's fangs without serious damage. Her mother's fangs. Andy pulled at the part of her that was pure electricity. And sent it through her neck into her mother's mouth. This was definitely going to lead to some weird complex if she survived.

Her electricity didn't come. She just didn't have enough energy for it, which was weird, considering she was still a giant. There was something weirdly reassuring about the moment. Andy almost wanted to relax. To just let herself be subsumed. Her eyes caught Zari. And anger flared through her. If she failed, Zari would never be born. It led to some really weird paradoxes. What mattered was she couldn't let that happen.

Instead of relying on her electricity, she pulled again on the energy. That intoxicating energy filled her. She felt the world grow small again. She was growing again. Then it started to slip. She felt bloated. She couldn't hold any more of the souls. Selene was taking them back, and she couldn't draw in anymore. She tried shunting them away from Selene, but Selene was like a vacuum and sucked them back up again.

She couldn't do anything more than this. Despair filled Andy. She couldn't defeat Selene and the others hadn't been able to do anything yet either. No. She couldn't allow it. But she couldn't do it alone. She needed help. Someone had to be able to take the souls away safely. One of the magic users... or...there was one person who could help.
