Rose Buckner

Location: Rapunzel's Tower
Skills:

The stranger that had joined them outside Maleficent's castle offered to help. Rose could believe she knew how to sew human flesh all things considered. She eyed the woman again. Merlin hadn't stopped her from coming in. Was she from a story that Rose didn't know? That was possible.

Rose helped Cassi along. Rose got her into a position that would be helpful for Megan to work on her leg. Then Rose stepped mostly out of the way but still held onto Cassi's hand. "Squeeze as tight as you need to." She told her.

She sort of remembered that Megan was a medical professional of some sort. They had all be introduced and talked a bit when they first met and as they had traveled. Rose did remember flirting with Megan, and if Cassi and her hadn't officially become a thing she would have again. Megan was enough of her type.

Colby followed Rapunzel's directions and put away the flowers and removed the bottle of alcohol. He didn't want to watch the proceedings so he placed it on the table near Cassiopeia. "Good luck I guess." He told her before quickly leaving the tower again.

It was an odd thing for him. He could deal with animals and help them while they were hurt. Humans though...no thank you. It wasn't a fear really. Just a lack of bedside manner. Whatever empathy he had for animals didn't translate to humans in the same way.

Andy quickly finished her food and gathered her stuff. She left the small cave, feeling a bit better outside of it. She was scared and worried. Andy smiled at her aunt. She tried to do her best to exude confidence, but she knew it was lacking. The closer they got to the sword, the closer they got to Mads' doom. It wasn't fair. Not much had been fair since she had learned she was a demi-god. Her life before that hadn't been wonderful though and here she had friends and people backing her up...and Arthur.

When the horse grabbed her she was ready to draw her dagger and kill it, but Mary slayed it first. Thank goodness the monsters didn't bleed that could have been super gross. "Yeah. Thank you." She said quietly, her voice relieved but a bit shaky as the adrenaline that had kicked in didn't have anywhere to go. She was on high alert now, and drew her dagger from its special spell on her bracelet.

"Thank you." Niah told the woman, for helping them and not getting them into a ton of trouble. Niah was just as dumbfounded as the others but she smiled, gathered her things, and headed out of the room.

Once they were a good distance from the room she spoke looking at Jason. "Amazing. Next time you're doing the talking." Niah shook her head but was smiling. "Let's check out." She headed toward the counter.

Ed Penior

Ed didn't feel like snipping with Prudence. He only continued into the Mausoleum, not stopping his descriptions. His details were somewhat lacking, not mentioning the rust or cherubs, though strangely mentioning the dead dove and unknown symbols. The cherubs were a continuation of the rest of the graveyard. The dove seemed out of place enough and the symbology of that was not lost on him.

He had long accepted that Runa would call him Edus. He did not prefer it and did not know when she had first heard the full first name. He always introduced himself as Ed. His family had a thing for names being long and strange. That was logical of course when one was as involved with magic as his family was. Edus had been chosen and the nickname Ed used because most people who hear the nickname Ed would assume a different longer name.

"There is text here." Ed frowns. "I do not know why I can read this, it isn't in any language I know, but it says 'To that which you seek, I open the way.' Not particularly excited about the meaning there as there is a knife and a bloodied cup on the altar." Ed kept part of his attention on the shadow, ready to cast his shield if the shadow turned into something more dangerous. The scythe did not assuage his fear of it.

Ed let himself relax as he flew into the wall. He probably should have bubbled himself but he hadn't had time. He really needed to get the shield into a pendant or something so he didn't have to constantly reach for it. He assessed his wounds, mostly bruising. Nothing felt broken. He was pissed.

Ed realized why he was so angry. It was Max's fault. Max was a portent of doom. Ed had wanted to let it slide, but the reaction...It had been so strong. And of course the tombstone with his name on it. Ed knew what all of that meant. He was going to die, and probably soon. There was a whole lot he had wanted to do that he likely would never be able to do. This whole kidnapped into space thing was not helping that.

He stood up, noting what was happening, and saw that Perry was surrounded by the same person. He didn't know how well she could actually throw a punch, but he suspected being surrounded wasn't her usual fighting style. He flicked his wrist knocking back one of the duplicates. Satisfied he moved to a second, flicking his wrist again. This one only stumbled, but it'd give Perry an advantage. So he flicked his hand at a third. This one seemed to disappear as it collapsed.

"I agree, we need to get moving. I don't particularly want to keep this nonsense up."

Andy frowned at the cage. It wasn't that she was upset about its existence but more that she didn't know if it would conduct. Or if the cage was less than real and her lightning just passed through it. She had no desire to send a blast of electricity out and have it grabbed by the cage turning it into a giant lightning trap with them inside. That'd be a great way to fry them all.

She hurried over to an edge and released a little spark of electricity. The cage didn't conduct. Andy smiled. She lifted the sword up pointing at the swarm of bats again. Maybe it was because they were made of water, or maybe it was because she had just had a little Mads snack. Whatever the cause, a huge swath of the bats, half of them, were wiped out, becoming water.

Rose tried to think pure thoughts the whole ride. She knew Cassi was in a lot of pain. She kept her arms around her just in case. Finally, when they got back to Rapunzel's Tower she hopped off and helped Cassi get off the horse too.

When Cassi waivered she did her best to steady her. "Let's get you into the infirmary." That was probably an exaggeration of what was actually available but at least they had something. She was pretty certain at least one of the transplants had a medical degree, she couldn't remember for certain, but that meant someone among their number could help. And there was, of course, what Rapunzel could do too with herbs and such that they had seen. They hadn't seen a lot of magical healing.

Returning from the short patrol with the herbs in tow Colby looked for Rapunzel. Colby had hoped they'd be out longer. As they arrived the other group returned too. He kept his face from contorting at the site of Rosalia. Colby didn't like most of the group, but Rosalia was his least favorite person.

Almost everyone else he could go with never dealing with again and be happy. Except maybe Willow; she seemed cool. And obviously Maddie. Everyone else was just frustrating to deal with.

"Got the flowers Rapunzel wanted too." Colby said, carefully removing them from where he had stored them. "Hopefully, we got enough."

Ed seemed unbothered by, or to have not noticed, Prudence, ignoring him. "Of course, Gullveig, happy to help." Ed said, using the name she had given rather than Runa. He was being respectful of her choices, be they protection of themself or a name change after so many years. He glanced at the letter that matched his own.

"Yes, that is the same as the one I have. I can read it to you if you'd like. However, I suggest we walk and talk as the young woman, Prudence, has started toward a nearby mysterious cemetery. Reach out your hand, and I will guide you." Ed let Runa's hand rest on his forearm, covered by his jacket, and started walking into the cemetery after Prudence. He reads the letter to Runa.

"The odd thing about the letter is it says it is from 2021, but I am from 2025. You're obviously from much farther into the future than even that. Also, to my knowledge, Strange was still alive in 2021. He was apparently alive in 2025." He gives room in his statement to be wrong, and for intentional misleading. He shakes his head, remembering what they had been doing in 2021. He'd rather not dwell on that, but the possibility of it somehow being connected are something he allows for. "Earth-666 is the same as mine." Ed admits. He does not add that it is the same as Runa's. He has met another Runa before, there is a chance they are not from the same universe.

"As for where we are," Ed says and starts describing the place. "It is desolate here. It is mountainous and rocky. Everything is tinted red, there was a nasty red storm earlier that burned. The cemetery that we've entered is..." He pauses taking in the tombstones. "The language upon the headstones is one I do not know. However, they appear to be graves for infants. Ahead I see a mausoleum. That is the only thing that seems to stand out." He describes as the cold starts to set in. He glances at Runa to see how she is handling the cold. If this had been the Runa of his era he would not have been as worried, but cold and older bones do not always get along.

Andy knew exactly what was wrong with her aunt. The closer they got to the sword the closer they got to her doom. She didn't say that though. She chewed on her food a bit and then finally said. "She has two best friends but all three of them were split up on different quests." That was a reasonable reason to be upset. Andy was upset too. She wondered how Arthur was faring, and considered trying to find a way to send him an Iris message.

"So there is this huge prophecy thing happening. You've missed a lot. And we got like four quests at once. We are trying to find this sword. I don't really remember what everyone else is doing to be honest. It was a lot." She glanced at Mary hoping the older girl could explain all of that better. There was no reason another demi-god kid couldn't know about what was going on.

Niah had no idea what to say. She froze. But Jason came up with a quick lie. Niah smiled and nodded. "We're mostly fine, just some scrapes and bruises. We do have to catch the train. We can't stay." They were worse off than that, but with the field kit they had they'd probably be alright.

She looked at Jason. "Maybe we can leave some cash for repairs?" She suggested quietly. She had been thinking of doing that anyway but now they had been caught in the middle of it. And her spell had failed. Hopefully, the Mist naturally helped them with this situation.

It had been a good thing that Mads had forced Andy to let go. Being stabbed drew rage and more hunger to the surface. She was reaching out when the world shifted. She was no longer in pain from the stab wound and she was no longer wanting to drain Mads of her
life force.

There was a jacket, that was not her own, wrapped around her and covered in her blood. She winced and removed it, offering it to the jacket-less Mary Sue. "Thanks." Next she looked at Mads, she remembered everything that happened. "I am sorry. It would be best for us never to make skin-to-skin contact again." She told her. In the back of her mind, the part of her that had enjoyed and relished in drinking Mads life force was not pleased.

Andy knew perfectly well that Lady Nimue was disappointed in her. She was disappointed in herself and scared of herself. Andy hadn't ever lost it like that. That was dangerous. She couldn't allow that to happen again.

There wasn't time to dwell on it. Lady Nimue changed the scenario.

Andy picked up the sword that was near at hand. She tested the metal and her electricity sparked along it. Andy nodded. This sword would do well. She didn't know how to actually fight with one, but it conducted, and that gave her some precision she couldn't get on her own.

Andy moved enough to get a good vantage on the bats, not bothering with planning this time. She pointed the sword at the swarm of bats and unleashed lightning. The lightning hit the swarm and dispersed amongst them, jumping from one bat to another taking out a large swath of them.

This made her feel like herself again. Yes, she would prefer to be doing this with her fists, but this felt just as right. It didn't bring the guilt and fear like the vampirism did. She wondered if the plan she had been forming with April as the catalyst would work for the bats too. Getting them wet might help her power even more.

"Sure, next time I get attacked unprovoked and without explanation I'll just let myself lose in the hope I don't get kidnapped." Ed replied annoyed. And of course, they were then attacked.

"We didn't ask to be here!" He snapped. He wasn't certain why his cool had been shattered but he was really done with this whole thing. It hadn't even been that long. However, since arriving they had been told they weren't wanted. That was fine with Ed, he didn't want to be here either.

He flicked his hands a few times sending blasts of force at the water-bending woman.
