The fight was getting more and more intense. Things were heating up literally and figuratively. Many of the fiends had fallen, but there were still more. Ed's shield only helped once. He was thankful for it again. It had probably just saved his life. Annika was stabbed. Ed didn't have a hair from her so couldn't heal her right away, but that didn't matter as Max appeared. He was able to beat back more of the fiends and heal Annika, though something odd happened with the healing. Max also wore Strange's cloak and necklace. Annika had mentioned two others, which made seven so far. He didn't like those numbers. What had Strange done to make so many Sorcerers?

Ed gathered a bunch of the demons together into a bubble. It was three demons. That wasn't a lot, especially considering there were probably around fifty of them left. He pulled more into a different bubble, both close to each other. It was only another four, but that would be seven that they could get rid of. "Max!" Ed yelled. "Portal the fiends away!" He pointed to the bubbles. Ed threw his shield hand back up producing another one. He wasn't about to stop when they had proved so effective so far.

She was proud of her magic. It had been a good idea and was working well. It felt a little weird to be so proud of herself. She normally felt so behind the others at camp. Mostly because she was so much younger than most of them. Arthur was the only one really in her age range. Well, there was that new girl but she had only been at camp a day before all the quests happened.

"Thank you." Andy said blushing a little at the compliments. They had a ways to go still so they couldn't sit around. Andy looked up at Mary waiting for her directions. She clutched the sword close to her.

"Yeah we would have to transfer busses." Niah had gotten better at understanding Jason's accent over the last few days. She nodded and looked at the two options. "If we've got the money for the Taxi that's the better option in the long run I feel like. But we're talking almost $200."

Niah led the way over to the taxi stand. When a taxi was free she leaned over through the passenger window. The driver didn't give her any weird vibes. He seemed to be human.

"Willing to go to Mount Tam?" It was a long ride if the driver was near the end of their shift he might be reluctant to go that far. He nodded. And Niah climbed in.

Rose got some food onto a plate for herself and Cassi to split. She listened to the plan. The use of the genie was an interesting add."Maybe we should have a plan for what to ask would be a good idea. God knows asking for something under stress would be a bad idea. We could ask for something that wouldn't be helpful or make things worse." Rose suggested.

She took a bite of her food. It wasn't a lot and wasn't great, but considering everything it was good. "Even if it is a general request." She shrugs.

"As much as I'd love to hide away all day up here, we should get down there. They are making plans on how to deal with Maleficent. We need to be part of that." Colby said. He also was super curious what the plan was with the genie. That was a big ace in the hole for them. Though he suspected by now Maleficent would be aware of the item being stolen.

"Let's go." Colby stood up and headed for the door, waiting for Maddie to join him before heading down. He heard the group talking, catching only a bit of the conversation. Something from Hood about a secret door. Damn they had missed something already. All well. Maybe Willow would fill them in.

Andy stares at the pieces that Mary Sue has summoned. "I'm going to be completely honest here. I have no idea what a rail gun is let alone how to put it together." She stares a bit dumbfounded at the pieces and picks up the length of the railroad. It is heavy, but she could probably hit someone with it while channeling her power, which would be efficient.

Mary Sue gave Andy a wicked grin. "Here. Let me try again and I'll explain." She gave a careful look at the pieces in front of her, and grabbed at thin air, before her contraption was deftly held in front of Andy. "I don't know much, but electricity induces magnetic current. People use that, at scale, to accelerate objects and fire them." Mary Sue heaved the railroad spike out of Andy's hand, and place it on the track between the rails. "This is usually really inefficient though, since you need a lot of power to fire it. But that's not a problem. You're the battery." She said, placing it on the floor across from Andy. "Just... Please don't aim it at anything living. "

"I have some experience with messing with magnetism with my power." She thought of the spar with Magneto. She hadn't had much chance since then to fiddle with her ideas. It hadn't been very long, from her perspective, since the Summer on Genosha. Andy picked up the completed railgun from the ground.

"Lady Nimue, I believe we are ready." She glanced at Mary Sue, nodded once, and pointed the gun away from any people. She hoped the wall could contain the railroad bit. Andy, if asked where her power came from, would never have been able to quite explain it. She pulled and pushed at something within her as she normally would. The hair on her arm raised a little. The gun did its part. It took all that energy she was creating. This time she wasn't slow and gentle as she had been with the lightbulb.

As Andy ran her power through the gun, it was very shortly after that what was once in between the rails no longer was. You could blink and miss it, as the heavy piece of track raced out at roughly the speed of a car, and firmly embedded itself in the wall of the training room. Mary Sue's jaw dropped at the staggering result; feeling the strangest juxtaposition of giddy excitement and horror at the fact that they just destroyed school property. She frantically looked between Andy and Nimue, with a half muttered "Sorry." That was drenched in hope that this would be met with satisfaction and not repudiation.

Andy was smiling. She couldn't help it. That had been cool. Here she was dressed up like some anime villain with probably the most destructive piece of equipment she had ever seen. This was cooler than the rope, and a lot easier to use. "This will be useful." She told Mary Sue. Andy didn't super care about the tournament, that wasn't why she was going to school, but heck if she had to do it she might as well have fun with it. Andy looked to Lady Nimue, waiting for her verdict.

As expected it didn't take much to destroy his shield, but it had done its job. It had protected them. They were now having more fire reign down on them, and locusts. Thankfully it seemed the cloaks didn't like the bugs and were playing defense against them. He did have some of the infernal devils attacking him directly, something needed to be done about those. He flicked his hands out, orange energy pushed the two demons off of him.

Ed tended to be a defensive magic user. He could protect those who would do the damage needed. He held his hand above his head again, summoning a shield to cover their heads from the fire. This time the shield felt stronger. He couldn't be certain that it would hold better, but he hoped it would. Ed did wish he had his staff on him, he could fight with it. It had never been the first thing he did, but it would have at least given him a melee weapon in this chaos.

Andy's smile exploded into laughter. She was not laughing at the outfit, but enjoying it. Part of her wanted to revolt against the angsty villain look, though she had leaned into that look long before she had met her mother. She couldn't help but love it. "I love this." She spun around. She had watched some anime before Northwood school and some edgier stuff with the Drummonds (though usually with them she went for the B-movie stuff, but Ashe had been a fan). So she had some pop culture knowledge from her time. She didn't know the specific show that this outfit was from. But she could tell it was drawn from the genre of Magical Girl.

Andy took the lightbulb. She nodded as Lady Nimue gave her announcement that they had ten minutes left. "I've never done any sort of precision control like this." She admitted. Most of what Andy had ever done was punch and electrify that punch. It was only on and after Genosha that she tried to do anything more creative. She couldn't blame the students here for not having done anything crazy with their powers either. Though, it seemed like the school setting was built for them to experiment with their powers. Mary Sue was a Freshman, and April had had a point. Why risk something that probably wouldn't work when real medical attention was right there?

She relaxed, letting her body find its natural position. Andy held the lightbulb delicately. She had to be careful with how much she sent into it. She also would have to try to prolong the electricity. Normally she only did bursts, but she had done extended attacks. Her tryout had shown she was capable of that, as well as her mock fight with Magneto. So a low-level amount of electricity for a longer period of time was her goal here.

As Andy concentrated on it, the filament heated up and produced light. She smiled, holding it a little longer before letting go of the energy.

"Concept proved. I can power a lightbulb."

Ed flinched at the explosion. For a moment he remembered Iris in her last moments. Seeing Mary on fire was not helping with that mental image. But Mary had it under control. It wasn't killing her. He took three slow long deep breaths centering himself.

"Same name." Ed focused on something ridiculous. One of Perry's ghosts had the same name as him. He waved at the mall cop-looking guy. That helped. It pulled him from the moment.

"If we leave will the ghosts fade?" He asked Perry. "They seem rather incompetent at least."

"I did sleep well thank you." She told Red. As Cassie got ready for the day she was there for her if she needed a hand, but did her best to not be overbearing. Only near at hand if asked for help. Otherwise, she let Cassie be as independent as she wanted. Rose knew she'd get mad if someone was mother hen-ing over her.

When they were both ready to head downstairs Rose led the way. She had been relieved that Robin Hood had said the wound was healing nicely. Medicine here was not great. That might have been the only part of her that didn't want to stay here, well not only part, but it was a loud part. She'd focus on that later. Time for a meeting, time for plans and decisions. Soon they'd face down Malificent and they'd help protect this world and their own for a bit longer.

"I was enjoying watching you sleep. You looked peaceful. I didn't want to ruin that." Colby says and leans in to kiss Maddie. Then there is a knock on their door. Colby pulls back quickly and smiles at his dad. "Morning, we'll be down shortly." Colby answers. His smile crooked.

"Best get dressed. I'm starving so hopefully there is breakfast." Colby backs up so that Maddie can stand up. He doesn't mind the ribbing from their dads. There is something so familial about it. If it had been any of their 'orphan' friends he probably would have been pissed. But from their dads, it felt...right.

Andy was thankful the others, and especially her aunt, were with her. She followed Damon's directions. She wanted to suggest that they partially split up so the monsters wouldn't know who to follow, but there were probably so many monsters it wouldn't have mattered.

She clutched the sword, and smiled at her aunt, tears still pricking at the corners of her eyes. "We have to lose them. We need some way to disguise our scent or confuse them." She said, and as soon as she did she remembered she could do magic. She smiles a little sheepishly and then pulls and pushes at the Mist. Flawless copies of them appear and start running down a different path.

"Let's keep going." Her sheepish smile has turned happy. She's proud of herself.

The three days on the train had been surprisingly quiet. After their first day, Niah had been worried they would never make it to California. But here they were. She took a deep breath and looked toward New Rome. They could have walked there from here. She longed for the secluded little town and the coffee shop and the comforting hills. She longed for her home. After a moment she looked the other direction, west, toward San Francisco.

"Alright, to get to Mount Tam we're going to have to take a couple of busses or a taxi. We have to cross the bay and go a bit north." She points in the general direction of the Mountain that is their destination. "Taxi would be fastest, but also over a hundred to get there. The bus will take like four hours, but would only be about ten dollars each." Considering they had eaten on the train the whole way across the country Niah wasn't sure how their purse was looking. They had been lucky to get the money from the rich Cyclopse but she had no idea how much was left at this point.

"Of course." Ed says, letting Runa step away. He drops his arm and steps closer to the new woman. He places his hand gently on her shoulder and orange light emanates from his hand. The light is weak, probably because he is distracted courtesy of the fireballs raining down on them. Thankfully none hit anyone. He does heal the woman some, but not as much as he would have liked.

Ed then holds up his hand above his head. Even though thus far the fireballs had missed the group he did not want to risk getting hit by any of those. He calls up his shield to cover and protect the four of them. This one has some unique properties though. Their magic should still be able to exit and go up at the demons. He can tell it seems weak.

"They are afraid of heights even though they have some way of flying? Interesting." He doesn't doubt the woman, he only finds it confusing.
