The boy with Brielle seemed a little... odd. Sparrow shrugged it off.
Probably getting a touch warm under that bear, she muses, laughing internally to herself before returning her attention to Adam, who suddenly seemed much more interested in leaving. His body looked more stiff; on edge all at once.
"Lead the way, little bird." His words spur another giggle from Sparrow, who tosses her hair over her shoulder and stares into Adam's eyes. This time she doesn't hesitate and simply takes his hand, holding it lightly and leading him towards the exit of the dinning hall. With her other hand she carries Adam's now empty plate, setting it in one of the deep wooden boxes near the exit. The dish slips down into the black soapy water and settles on top of the rest of the empty plates.
"It was a pleasure to see you all. We'll be back in a bit. If anyone asks I'm umm... sick. Yeah. I'll be in my room all day." Sparrow winks at the group still near the table, halfheartedly faking a cough before disappearing out of the dinning hall with Adam. The hallway outside the dinning area was lit by candles along the wall, close to the ceiling. Out of the corner of her eye Sparrow watches her companion. The chatter of the dinning hall fades into the distance as they walk. She takes a small staircase which leads them deeper into the mountain.
"Everyone's rooms are down here," she explains as they pass a handful of closed doors.
"My dad and I sleep here." Sparrow stops and pushes open a deep blue door. The paint was beginning to peel, but it still looked more cheerful than many of the deep brown doors. Inside she walks to the closet and pulls out a cape not much longer than her knee length dress, and rich forest green in color. She pulls her arms from her light blue cardigan and hangs it up again before wrapping her cape around her shoulders and securing the ornate clasp on the front to keep it from slipping off.
"Much better," she mutters, more to herself than anyone else. Before leaving she also grabs a length of brown ribbon from her bedside table, using it to tie back her blonde waves and keep them out of her eyes.
She turns to Adam when she finishes.
"If you want I can show you the reservoir, but that's the only other thing that's down here. Upstairs are the dinning hall and kitchen, which you've seen, and the training grounds, classrooms, guard chambers, supply rooms, the main gathering hall, and the King and Queen's chambers. I can show you all but those last two before we leave, or I can show you around when we get back, it's up to you." Sparrow smiles, excited to spend more time with Adam. Despite the two only just meeting, she felt like they would get along wonderfully, then again she felt that way about most people. Too trusting. Her father swore up and down it would get her into more trouble than she was worth, but Sparrow never changed her ways. For as long as she cared to remember it had been proven to her that if you gave people the opportunity to prove that they were trustworthy, they more often than not would prove you right.
