Maybe, I would assume you'd have to be a hamon user or know hamon before gaining your stand to combine the two.
Given that we really only seem to have one example to draw from, I'm not sure how much of a pattern that presents.
My thought process here is essentially: Hamon is generated by special breathing but is, in effect, nothing more than a form of natural life energy that can be cultivated. Hamon users don't draw it from anything; they just straight-up produce it. Gold Experience can sense and manipulate all life energy and biological processes. Ergo, it follows that there is a high chance that Gold Experience either by default can sense and manipulate Hamon (at least on a basic level) without any talent/capacity of its user necessary or can otherwise develop the ability to do so. I doubt the abilities available to it as a Stand would be a 1-1 transfer, but I don't doubt it has the potential. And I definitely doubt that if the user managed to gain Hamon that GE wouldn't be able to channel its effects from them.
You know... it occurs to me... Can Gold Experience create Hamon? Hamon seems to essentially be a special form of life energy, and life energy is GE's entire jam. We also know Hamon can be channeled through Stands in the case of Hermit Purple, so they're clearly compatible with the energy. So, if it got the chance to witness Hamon... Well, I suppose that'll be something I can explore later with that A-Rank in Potential. >:)
Appearance: Standing at 5’8”/172 cm tall and weighing 145 lbs, Kasumi is a curvaceous and athletic young woman that clearly takes care of herself. Her skin is pale and clear with no distinguishing markings or tattoos, but dusted with a rosiness that indicates at least some preference for outdoors activity. Her shoulder-length, pink hair (dyed from black, she claims) lays neatly combed, framing unimpressed brown eyes; though often, she will pull it into a braid or ponytail.
Kasumi's wardrobe is one that rides a line between casual and business. While on the work daily, she dresses in smart, bright button-down tops and black pants and shoes, often with suit jackets and ties. A long-coat is not something amiss in her wardrobe. Under more casual (or clandestine) settings, she is also prone to comfortable darker clothes. Sweaters, hoodies, men-style jeans and sneakers all have their place and time, favoring navy blues and greys. No matter what her business, she is inclined to cleanliness. Even so, when practicality calls for it, Kasumi is far from adverse to shedding the trappings of well-to-do for the sake of convenience, and she expresses a preference for sufficient numbers of pockets no matter her garb.
Personality: Kasumi is a spitfire of a young woman with a repressed bleeding heart, who seeks to catalyze her personal freedom and security first and foremost. Self-interested and pitiless towards those that obstruct her goals, she head-strongly pursues her own well-being and fortunes above and beyond all else, the goal being to achieve a peaceful, stable life of comfortable mediocrity. Though capable as a social chameleon, she is nonetheless quickly tired by socialization. An introvert in nature, she has little patience for playing a role contradictory to her selfhood long-term, which results in her attitude often being antagonistic towards those she doesn't need to appease for the sake of her comfortable life. Her loner tendencies are in part fueled by her desire to avoid being overt with her powers, seeking the path of least resistance by avoiding attention and the resulting trouble. Kasumi ultimately has no respect for the law and most societal conventions, willing to do whatever she must to get what she wants so long as she believes she can get away with it with little to no consequences.
All that said, buried within her shriveled heart are redeeming qualities. She does have a sense of empathy for the misfortunate. She is not truly apathetic, and when it wouldn't seriously inconvenience her, she is willing to put her neck out for others. She despises drugs and other addicting substances, seeing them as net drains on society and human productivity... to say nothing of how they can twist the mind, as Kasumi values few things higher than the sanctity of free will. She lives by the concept of taking one's own life and destiny into their own hands, no matter what tries to stand in your way, and she respects those that showcase similar values... just as long as they aren't at the cost of pointless malice and destruction. Though prone to being prickly and difficult to ingratiate oneself with, Kasumi is all the more loyal to those that she decides to truly trust, a loyalty she may express with actions others might deem... overkill.
Backstory: Kasumi has never truly sought greatness. Born to Japanese immigrants, Kasumi was raised with an American culture at school and a high-pressure Japanese culture at home. However, where most children might have conformed to expectations, Kasumi grew up feeling only stifled by them and increasingly resentful. Where her parents sought greatness for her, Kasumi was satisfied with mediocrity. Pressured for years at home while surrounded outside it with people that had it far easier, Kasumi became bitter and burnt out, extremely envious of the idea of a future carefree work-life balance. A naturally introverted person, she had little tolerance for social networking, and she had no desire to learn to overcome it to boot.
Over time, this resentment grew into a prideful stubbornness, and Kasumi decided that she would have only the life she wanted to lead. She decided she would seek out only a profession and life that she could enjoy comfortably and unstressed, and she knew she'd never have that under her parents' thumbs. Keeping her plans quiet, she made job applications and inquiries, and the moment she had graduated university, she packed what things of hers still remained at home and moved out entirely, cutting off all contact with her parents. Heading out into the wide world on her own, Kasumi obtained a job that allowed her to mostly work from home, performing programming and maintenance for a cyber security company. Unambitiously, she parked herself at a position midway up the ladder that paid well enough to live a decent life and settled into comfortable mediocrity, acquiring a small, cozy home in a quiet suburb soon thereafter.
So went her quiet life... until one day.
On an outing with one of the few neighbors she tolerated, Jennifer Wilson, they were mugged, and though the girls gave as good as they could, they were outnumbered and outmatched... up until an invisible force demolished their attackers. In that moment, Kasumi's Stand awoke and proceeded to enact her will to slaughter the men without hesitation or qualms... with her neighbor becoming quite aware that Kasumi was somehow to blame. In the aftermath, Kasumi would find herself shocked to find her neighbor both not repulsed by what happened and willing to keep it quiet, and for the first time, Kasumi had what she could actually call a friendship, one she couldn't help but cherish all the more for its lack of competition.
Henceforth, she and Jennifer proceeded to do nearly everything together every free moment they had, outings, taking martial arts, learning to shoot and earning firearm licenses, and Jen even gleefully provoking Kasumi into properly experimenting with her strange "punch ghost's" powers. Jen eased her apathy for others, coaxed her into considering other ways of living and was perhaps the only person that could get Kasumi to tolerate getting within 10 feet of a club. And in time, she would even be witness to Kasumi's first -thankfully nonhostile- encounter with another Stand User, awakening their eyes to the reality of the supernatural underground... one Kasumi naturally immediately decided must be avoided at all costs... They were, as the phrase goes, "inseparable", hardly any secrets between them.
Which is why Kasumi was all the more infuriated when Jennifer's corpse was found by police after an uncomfortably long disappearance. It was a raw, red-hot fury that filled her on that day, a motivation to act and thirst for blood that honestly took her off guard. But as she stewed in her own impotent fury, shoving it down to a low simmer, her wrath began to transform into something far more... calculating, as emotion was exchanged for a clinical cold-blooded homicidal determination. As she obsessively dug through every ultimately useless police report she could find, she didn't know how or when she would find a way to make her friend's murderer pay, but she knew she would make it reality. Not just for Jennifer's sake... but for the crime of stealing something from her that she hadn't realized she needed until it was gone.
Misc:
Prior to the "start of canon", Kasumi has had limited experience with the Stand community due to going out of her way to avoid it whenever feasible. That said, she has not, in fact, always been successful in this respect and has had her share of encounters, some friendly, some hostile, but she's not made attempts to stay in touch that weren't extended in her direction first (for good or ill). She's earned her stripes in several serious fights, gathered fairly in-depth knowledge on the concept of Stands, and managed to stay unknown. New York City is a big place, and it's pretty easy to never run into people you feel like avoiding.
Due to extensive experiments with her Stand's healing abilities, Kasumi has a rather unusual pain tolerance, able to shrug off pain that would cripple many others with a dead stare.
Kasumi practices martial arts, her focus being a style that prioritizes defense and handling physically stronger opponents, which she intermixes with a form of "ad-libbed" street fighting.
Kasumi carries a lighter, not because she smokes but because she just finds it a useful tool (pay no mind to the fact that it once belonged to a friend and that any who touch it will suffer).
A small canister of pepper spray also lies within her everyday possessions.
Kasumi is a registered concealed firearm carrier and possesses a FN High Power handgun that she usually keeps strapped under one arm; she also carries spare 17-round magazines.
Name: Gold Experience
Namesake: The Gold Experience (Prince Album)
Physical Description: Gold Experience is a golden-hued humanoid Stand of slender build and average height. The top of its head is similar to that of a typical helmet of a soldier with a ladybug-like design, with curved markings similar to the letter J coming down from the eyes on both sides. There are stylized white wings on its shoulders and large purple ladybugs all over its body and smaller purple accents elsewhere, like its knuckles and insectoid eyes. Small white slings like loosed suspenders hang from its waist. The Stand has an overall insectoid theme similar to a beetle, and several portions of its body appear to be "armored" with an orange "carapace"-like material, including the upper torso, shoulders, pelvic area, forearms and forelegs.
Personality: Gold Experience doesn't have any personality to speak of and follows its user's commands without manifesting any will. Its Stand Cry, communicated by itself or Kasumi, alternatively, is "MUDA MUDA MUDA~!", sometimes punctuated by a "WRRRYYY~!" in moments of particularly high emotion. Without a will of its own, the Stand's combat style defaults to Kasumi's, being fairly decisive and ruthless; it also showcases the use of actual martial arts to close the gap between it and conventionally stronger opponents.
Stand Stats:
Destructive Power: C Speed: A Range: C (2 meters) Durability: D Precision: C Development Potential: A
Abilities: Gold Experience is a close-range Stand, one that isn't conventionally very strong, relative to other close-range Stands, around the strength of an average human. Despite this, it is mind-bogglingly fast, outspeeding some of the best of the best, and capable of easily destroying and even launching vehicles such as cars and motorcycles through sheer quantity of strikes delivered in a short amount of time.
The main ability of Gold Experience is to manipulate life. It can both sense life energy and inject it on physical contact, pulling from a seemingly endless well of power, which has a variety of effects depending on what it touches.
Injected into inanimate objects, the life energy can transform it into a living organism of Kasumi's choosing, plant or animal. This ability does not appear to observe conservation of mass, as an object as small as a bullet can become a full size tree or a car something as small as a frog. This transformation persists for a fairly long time and even at large distances from Kasumi, and she can cancel it at any time, immediately reverting an object back into its original inorganic state. Plants grow/change faster and take whatever form and direction of growth Kasumi desires. However, scaling much faster in complexity and thus creation time, animals are entirely independent organisms, following their natural instincts in a given situation, which Kasumi must guess beforehand; though, she does have some limited influence in being able to cause the animals to be "attracted to their source". Life forms created from parts of a whole, such as someone’s tooth or debris from a statue, will have the natural instinct to make their way back to whatever it came from, and a "part of a whole" can even include someone's shoe or money taken from a wallet. She can even ensure the lifeforms at least return to her, and her creations are never hostile to her, developing increasing loyalty the longer they exist. If the local area happens to be a zone completely unsuitable for any form of life, then life forms cannot be created. Alternatively, creating a life form in a deadly substance will cause the result to be an animal that is naturally adapted with the correct biology and resistances to survive remaining in that substance.
If any lifeform created by injected life energy is struck, plant or animal, the effect of the blow will be completely nullified and inverted, the severity of the retaliation proportional to how harmful the effect would have been to the thing struck, which can be easily lethal in the cases of smaller creatures being the target. This affects not just physical blows but will even reflect the esoteric abilities of other Stands. Kasumi is immune to this backlash effect and can harm her creations freely.
If life energy is injected into an already living being, their thought processes will radically accelerate, to the point of losing control of their body and Stand and causing an out of body experience. The victim perceives the world in slow motion but finds themself unable to react to it, barely able to move their actual body and feeling far more acute and intense pain over a much larger time period when an injury is taken, enough to think full sentences and internally describe the pain in great detail. This ability is, however, ineffective when used on a Stand directly and must reach the User instead. Gold Experience can also use life energy to radically accelerate personal metabolism, able to cause the likes of a long-lived tree to rapidly wither and rot in moments; to say the least, the results on a creature are likely to be fairly horrific.
Gold Experience is capable of healing in several ways, able to support and accelerate natural healing processes, stitch severed flesh back together (which can reconnect amputated limbs), or transform inanimate objects into replacement flesh and organs. In the latter case, much like transforming inanimate objects into creatures, conservation of mass is generally given the middle finger, as the likes of a small brooch could be turned into a whole hand and forearm, for example, while bullets will easily provide enough mass to restore not just their resting place in a wound but the tunnel created to get there. This process of healing and integrating replacement flesh is apparently quite painful.
If life energy is injected into a corpse, Gold Experience's power has a rather unique result. While it cannot ultimately bring the corpse back to life, it can reanimate it temporarily, providing an anchor for the disconnected soul to hang onto. The corpse will have all the memories and personality traits of the person when it was alive, and if they were a Stand User, they will retain their Stand abilities in full as well (this being the real hint that the actual soul is, in fact, present). The reanimated person ultimately lacks body functions, such as breathing, a heartbeat or the ability to feel pain, and they are immune to abilities that only affect living creatures. However, while this may prove advantageous at first, it doesn't change that the corpse is still dead, causing them to gradually physically weaken and lose their sense of sight and hearing. In exchange, however, they can develop the ability to converse with others by sensing the presence and thoughts of other souls. That said, the timing for this phenomenon to occur successfully is very tight. A corpse cannot be animated without a soul to drive it, so for this to happen, Gold Experience must perform the infusion within bare moments of the initial time of death. Otherwise, the corpse shall remain lifeless and inert, the will long since passed on.
Gold Experience's mastery of life provides Kasumi the ability to sense life passively. To her, life exists largely in "clusters". When she touches someone or something, she can more finely sense any other life forms within them, allowing her to check if someone is alive or scout out a confined area before entering it. The ranged detection capacity of this sensory ability is precise enough that Kasumi can track individual targets she is familiar with, including life forms created by her. She can also infuse an inanimate object with a time-delayed or conditional transformation or can simply have the injected energy loiter inactively, providing her a beacon to track from afar.
One particular technique of Kasumi's is to toss severed -but life infused- portions of her body away, keeping them "alive" and thus seeding "anchors" from which her Stand can manifest and bypass her normal range limit, while also ensuring that these "anchors" can heat-seek back to her once their purpose is fulfilled. She is also well-practiced in utilizing the universal capabilities of Stands, like selective tangibility, perspective sharing, and self-enhancement via cloaking her body in her Stand. And through the last of those abilities, there is currently percolating the conception of an ability that yet remains highly rare among even Stand Users aware of the universal utilities.
I can help you with the 1x1 RP if you consider it. I have a stand idea I wanted to try out as well, and I think doing a 1x1 rp would be a good way to use this stand.
So for the Vampires/Pillarmen that is something I want to keep a surprise for the players :)
Like I said, I'll mull the idea over. Haven't done it before, and my interest lies more in larger RP projects at the moment.
"..." What a "comforting" combination of words you have just injected into my eyeballs. lol
Also, updated character sheet.

So I have thought about it and decided only to have canon stands be playable for this rp. However, if you like we can do a 1x1 rp taking place in the Jojo universe with some custom stands.
I had something like Part 7 in mind where things happen a lot differently than in the OG canon. Like the Joestars origin is much different than canon. And since Hamon is a thing, it would be more of a reimagining of the OG universe.
Alright, I understand. I’ll make a final look through potential Stands, but I’m pretty confident my choice will be Gold Experience. And then I’ll edit the sheet appropriately.
Never tried a 1v1 RP before, but that offer is tempting. I’ll mull it over.
And neat. Basically reset timeline it is. Then we’re diving straight into complete unknown territory aside from the fundamental basics like the power systems remaining. Given Hamon exists though, that makes me wonder what happened to the Pillar Men and Vampires in this AU…
Lol Golden Experience would be a good choice if your going for a healer type. Cream Starter would be another good choice as well.
I'm pretty biased towards punch ghost Stands, so I just don't vibe with Cream Starter at all. Also, GE appeals to me for not just the healing, but all the other abilities that simply didn't get the chance to have a lot of spotlight in the series beyond the first few episodes (looking at you life-shot, damage reflecting lifeforms and shapeshifting the environment into life). It's not really that I specifically want a "healer-type" so much as a Stand that just happens to be able to heal; it's simply that barring Crazy Diamond, there's really no substitute for sheer healing power paired with other goodies than Gold Experience. One reason Sticky Fingers was a standout option was that it can at least "pseudo-heal" by zipping severed body parts back together while being strong enough in a straight fight to limit how much the user will get hurt in the first place.
On another note, are there any setting changes we should be mindful of in particular when backstory crafting? Or things that still happened anyway (like the Joestar origins or, in fact, if the Joestars exist at all)? Or is this like a full breakdown and rebuild of the setting even outside the Stand redistribution? Seems like you're going for something like an alternate Part 7 type scenario almost (in the sense of being post-Joestar/Made in Heaven era).
Yeah I might consider it, give me a few hours to maul it over and I will get back to you with my decision.
Neato. On that note, I'm pretty sure if you eventually decide on "no", I'll be going with Gold Experience. I've got a weakness for Speed/Precision-build Stands over brutes in some cases, and GE is both a heavy utility that can hold its ground against said brutes and a healer, the latter of which I think I'd like to ensure the party has at least one of. Crazy Diamond is also tempting, but I'd like to be able to heal myself too, thanks. lol
Also because the idea of unleashing a life-shot/berserk sense 7 Page Muda combined with an ally's Stand rush at the same time for massively multiplied pain sounds absolutely hilarious and overkill and glorious.
That is a really good sheet. I am conflicted if i should have it where its just custom stands. If you want i can pick another stand, if you wanna pick up Sticky Fingers?
Oh no, no, I’d never seriously ask you to just pick something else, especially since you've already got your character comfortably completed. First come first serve. I’d prefer to use what I’m proposing, but if I really must, I will swap for something else. It’ll be disappointing to not be able to use this Stand concept in a pure Jojo setting, but I’m sure I’ll get over it.
You’re the GM, so it’s ultimately up to you. All I’m asking is for the idea to be given consideration. Ah, and on that first bit, I’m sure you could get the best of both worlds if you want. Nothing’s stopping you from having both original and canon Stands in the mix, not just one or the other.
Alright, there's my current idea for a character, pretty much complete in theory.
Name: Kasumi Nakano
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Ability: Stand User
Appearance: Standing at 5’8”/172 cm tall and weighing 135 lbs, Kasumi is a curvaceous and athletic young woman that clearly takes care of herself. Her skin is pale and clear with no distinguishing markings or tattoos, but dusted with a rosiness that indicates at least some preference for outdoors activity. Her shoulder-length, pink hair (dyed from black, she claims) lays neatly combed, framing unimpressed brown eyes; though sometimes, she will pull it into a braid or ponytail.
Misc: Due to extensive experiments with her Stand's healing abilities, Kasumi has a rather unusual pain tolerance, able to shrug off pain that would cripple many others with a dead stare.
Name: Senbonzakura
Namesake: Senbonzakura (Hatsune Miku song)
Physical Description: A humanoid Stand that takes the form of a gynoid-like woman of alabaster hue, clad in a backless cheongsam dress with large slits up the sides that allow free motion of the legs. "Hair" made of linked Sakura petals trails behind the head in shoulder-length waves, often blowing in a light breeze that only the Stand seems to feel. Though they have eyelids, the eyeballs beneath are a pair of cold, pitiless green lenses with an insectile texture to them, and a sprawling tattoo, inked in green and black, depicts a tree made of thorns upon the Stand's open back, contrasted by lush pink leaves covering the branches depicted across the shoulder-blades. The tattoos extend down the Stand's bare legs in the form of thorny roots wrapping around them, before disappearing into the backs of a pair of martial arts slippers.
Personality: Senbonzakura carries an aloof demeanor, often loitering with crossed arms, an upturned nose or half-lidded eyes. It identifies as both a "she" and, indeed, "identifies" at all. Senbonzakura is a sentient Stand capable of speech and independent action; though it has rarely exerted either. In private, it goads Kasumi to be more callous and prideful, while simultaneously encouraging caution and prioritizing survival. Senbonzakura's default state is hostility towards anyone that isn't a proven nonthreat, showcasing mistrust towards the slightest hint of untoward motives. Senbonzakura has no altruistic feelings for anyone but her User and pursues Kasumi's survival and success above all things. In battle, she usually only communicates with Kasumi mentally and verbally punctuates her attacks with aggressive cries of "MIKU MIKU MIKU MIKU MIKU". Senbonzakura is a highly decisive and ruthless combatant, going for the kill by default unless restrained by Kasumi.
Stand Stats:
Destructive Power: C Speed: A Range: C (10 meters) Durability: C Precision: A Development Potential: D
Abilities: The main ability of Senbonzakura is to transform anything it directly, physically touches into Sakura petals under its telekinetic control or remotely revert them. "Direct" in the sense that it can't touch someone's arm and transform their whole body, only the surface of the body that the Stand makes immediate contact with. This is not directly deadly so much as disabling, as severing a leg doesn't cause the victim to bleed out, just leaves the limb mystically detached. Even if reverted without proper reconstruction, it doesn't cause deadly severance, merely leaving a victim/target nonlethally dismembered, their body/form somehow functioning normally despite the spacial difference/disconnection. Although, they can be manually reconstructed by being picked up and pieced together like a living puzzle, the parts automatically fusing back once correctly oriented.
That said, any wounds upon severed body parts/target portions still affect the whole. A remotely reconstructed and crushed heart will kill the person it was removed from at range, for example. Transformed targets remain in a form of "stasis", which allows wounds and damage to be temporarily prevented from affecting a victim, granting time for treatment to be delivered. It can also be used to "fuse" broken parts back together to heal wounds by deconstructing something, "pinching" it together and reconstructing it. More indirect uses of the power can be deadly, like drowning someone with petals shoved down their throats.
The petals have the same non-interest in physics as Stands and can be destroyed only by Stand phenomenon, reverting back to what they originally were in a destroyed state. The petals aren't individually strong, but their "mostly inviolable" state makes them very effective barriers if positioned in mass well, even deadly ones depending on how hard they are impacted and if the petals are hit along their flats or edges. They also can thus be used as midair footholds or for pseudo-flight. The Stand is passively aware of the position of every created petal under its control but has no direct sense of their surroundings beyond an ability to "feel things out" with physical contact. Petals automatically revert to what they were transformed from after 24 hours, but they do not automatically reorient themselves to reconstruct what they were prior. On the flipside, Senbonzakura, if she wishes, can cause the petals to automatically heat-seek each-other -or whatever they were broken off of- before reassembling, which can be utilized as a form of tracking ability.
One particular technique of Kasumi's is to turn portions of her body into petals and send them away, thus seeding "anchors" from which her Stand can manifest and bypass her normal range limit. She is also well-practiced in utilizing the universal capabilities of Stands, like selective tangibility, perspective sharing, and self-enhancement via cloaking her body in her Stand.
Well i was thinking it would be neater to use legacy stands from every part. Idk if that is okay with you?
Honestly, I'm not super interested in canon Stands. I've actually got a long-standing concept in mind that's pretty fleshed out for an original one though if you're willing to entertain it. If I were going to pick an original Stand, unfortunately, the main choice is already taken (Sticky Fingers), and I'm on the fence about others. But I guess if I really had to, Gold Experience is in the running.
But mostly, I'd really like to see if an original Stand is possible.
