Approximately ten years ago, Earth faced an immense terror that threatened to destroy the world as we know it. These alien-like beings originated from an alternate dimension, manifesting in our world through a portal that was ripped open by a technology-based company that was researching the Morphin Grid. Who would have known that genuine curiosity would put us at war with a power we were completely unfamiliar with? In response, a ragtag group of individuals were recruited into the fold in response to the threat. What followed after this assembling of Rangers we could not predict. Violence, destruction, betrayal, loss... Earth won the battle... but at what cost?
Nearly a decade later and the world has fully recovered from the damage of several years of war. Some of the Rangers served as casualties of the war... Others disappeared into obscurity dealing with the trauma of fighting a war they had no idea would lead to a life altering mental state... And then there are those who are sitting idle, waiting in paranoia for the next wave of an evil threat to try its best at conquering the world. Peace fell over the Earth in the years of recovery, but the slow emergence of what was once thought to be an eradicated empire has forced the hand of a former Ranger to either get the band back together (those who are still alive anyway) or recruit new blood who won't realize what they have decided to sign up for.
"Rangers" takes place nearly ten years after the war of the original Rangers versus the Druidon Warfare Tribe. The cause of this war stems from a corrupted technology company, GENESIS, wanting to tap into the power of the Morphin Grid to increase the quality of their products in order to make an immense profit. What they didn't expect was for an evil empire to enter into this dimension and cause turmoil. The same company created the Dino Morphers that bonded with a group of young teens to combat Druidon, but after learning of the corruption of GENESIS, the Rangers acted on their own to overcome Druidon and save the world.
GENESIS's plan was to use the technology to sell to the government for an immense price and then escape Earth before Druidon took it over. Instead, they were "outsmarted and out-willed" by the power of youth. Years later, the technology and wisdom is now in the hands of a veteran Ranger, Charlie Fox, who has taken over the abandoned headquarters of GENESIS in an effort to restore the Dino Powers and recruit new Rangers while convincing old ones that their fight with Druidon is not over.
Our story picks up in present day with Charlie still in the process of restoring the Dino Powers while Druidon's second wave of evil is on the horizon nearly a decade later. As of right now, she is only one person that is trying to balance being a Ranger while being a Morphin Grid engineer to restore the powers back into the Dino Morphers. As one could imagine, this is extremely tough for her to accomplish alone and patience is wearing thin. It is imperative that she receives help from new recruits and old teammates in order to not have the world finally succumb to the power of Druidon.
The age of the Rangers will range from 20 to 25 years old.
The original Rangers received their powers when they were "Teenagers with Attitude" in high school. Almost a decade later, at least the ones that survived the war, they are young adults (23 to 25) with their own set of issues including work, families, and other personal issues. With this in mind, they are more than likely older than the newcomers. The newcomers are probably on the younger end (20 to 22 years old), but the Rangers would be intentional about recruiting young adults and not teenagers. No way in hell would a 16 year old know how to deal with the threat that they are about to deal with. These Rangers could possibly attend Ange Grove University or are serving in the local workforce.
There are a handful of veteran Rangers that will be willing to re-join the team for the sake of finishing off the evil once and for all. They may or may not be as receptive to the newcomers, especially since they lost comrades in the war. In my mind, there are only one to two additional veterans that will comprise the entire team of Rangers. The newcomers, on the other hand, would outnumber everyone else.
Ranger colors are
not gender exclusive. There could very well be a female Red Ranger and a male Pink Ranger. Also, "Red" isn't the de facto leader of the team. Each Ranger will be able to contribute their respective skills and traits in a way that should allow them to be a leader at any given time. The Rangers would, however, get direction from the Command Center.
"Active" means that a specific Ranger Designation is available to apply for. "Out of Commission" means that a role is not available. When a role is "Taken", the character first and last name will be displayed next to the Ranger Designation.
- Red Ranger - Active
- Black Ranger - Active
- Blue Ranger - Active
- Green Ranger - Active
- Pink Ranger - Active
- Gold Ranger - Out of Commission
- Purple Ranger - Charlie Fox (@OGSG)
- Cyan Ranger - Out of Commission
- Silver Ranger - Out of Commission
- Gray Ranger - Out of Commission
"I can't believe that it's been nearly a decade since our battle with the Druidon Warfare Tribe. And to think: a group of kids who had no business being accountable for the fate of our world being the ones responsible for actually saving it. Sadly, not all of us could make it out alive. That's the price you pay for war, I suppose. Unfortunately, deep down, I knew that things wouldn't be quiet for too long. They never are. the Druidon Tribe has manifested once again in Angel Grove and now they want retribution. What they didn't count on was the fact that I've been waiting and preparing for this moment ever since the war ended. I may have been the youngest of the original Rangers, but I'm not a kid anymore. I'm ready to help lead the charge against them and end Druidon once and for all. I just need to establish a new team... and see if the other Rangers wouldn't mind coming out of retirement." -- Charlie Fox, Purple Ranger
- First, thanks for making it this far into the interest check. Shout out to you.
- This is not a first-come, first-serve sort of roleplay. I'm looking for roleplayers that can vibe with a casually advanced roleplay while also providing great characters.
- That being said, the aim of this RP is for it to be a small group RP. I'm looking for no more than maybe 4-ish roleplayers depending on the vibe. Those who are accepted will be able to write up to 2 characters.
- Please post at least once per week in character. There will be instances where the group may be split up into separate groups to handle a task or quest so the Rangers won't always be together. Because this is a casually advanced RP though, I'm providing a little bit of leeway in posting. The goal is for this to be a long-term plot with minimal pressure. If you are unable to continue the RP, let me know so that we can phase out your character.
- The roleplay will be a combination of slice of life, action, and adventure. Feel free to create your own subplots with other characters (enemies, friends, lovers), but just make sure that the other person approves of it.
- I'm not enforcing a Discord server for OOC in this group plot. All important OOC information will be posted in the OOC forum. This is mainly because not everyone wants to use Discord and I don't want to leave people out. However, feel free to add me on Discord and direct questions to me there or via PM here.
- The RP takes place in the fictional city of Angel Grove, CA (for nostalgia purposes) in an alternate universe.
- Above all, have fun!
