Need some advice starting a roleplay.

Ignore that Tokyo person, they don't even roleplay and will stalk your posts. Utter rubbish.

As for advice. Hm. Well you're on the first step even by seeking to improve yourself. That said, I find emulation helps. Find a book or another roleplayer's content that vibes with you and, don't 100% copy it obviously, but try to integrate elements of what you find enjoyable into your own plots and format.

Over time you'll become more confident.

Also try different genres and get a feel for what's more intuitive to you to even write as a way to filter down doing the above. For me, I like getting into arguments. So here, "Arena" content is a natural fit, since I really don't give a shit if things get terse OOC and that's usually gonna happen in those. Some people are more inclined for romantic genres meanwhile, or historical roleplay, etc.

Once you have a lock on that, seek out others who've done the thing you're wanting to do in broad strokes. Best mirror is in another.

Don't worry, if it turns out we're not in the 1600s, I'll just amend that due to the time singularity, Joe Rogan transports from the 1600's to the time period of the roleplay. It'll work pretty good.

I've not actually played that, I know the ~90% complete build got leaked a while back. Maybe sometime.

Instead I need to set my eyes on new heights. More sophisticated, high art games like Sengoku Rance.

Alright here, I got my character sheet's prototype going.

Think I'll keep it roughly in line with Sky's. Viewer's aggression is advised, all rights deserved.

GENDER: Alpha Male.

AGE: "57" years. However, due to supplements and MMA, he is at his peak physicality of 30 years.

RACE: Pure blooded human, he has never taken vaccines.

ETHNICITY: Irish/Italian.

SKIN COLOR: Caucasian. Yes that is a skin color.

EYE COLOR: White sclera, black pupils, and blue irises supplemented with lutein+zeaxanthin which are sold on his podcast.

HAIR COLOR: No.

HAIR STYLE: Bald.

BUILD: "Like a silverback gorilla," which sounds absurd for human anatomy. But you have to remember, Alpha Male © 2012 was consumed daily for many years, and it'll take some time before his muscles experience atrophy. Some time indeed.

HEIGHT: Despite rumors that his height is that of a leprechaun's, he is in fact 5'8".

Unfortunately, given his ornate armor was not in vogue during the 1600s, his bizarre complexion coupled with his speech patterns draws many onlookers and unwanted attention wherever he goes. But that's just the life of Joe Rogan for you.

WEAPONS: His bare hands and feet. In 1996, he began training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Carlson Gracie at his school in Hollywood, California. He is a black belt under Eddie Bravo's 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu, a style of no-gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and a black belt in gi Brazilian jiu-jitsu under Jean Jacques Machado. He was also a spectator announcer for MMA going on 20 years, and despite never fighting professionally in the ring, his MMA skills are world renowned.

Joe Rogan seeks only truth. If saving the land reveals truth, so be it. If suplexing a six year-old into the ground breaking all of their bones reveals the truth, it must be done.

He was the host for Fear Factor. Thus he legally has no fears.

POWERS/TALENTS:

Due to his nutritional program before time traveling, he is way more shredded than your average 1600s soldier. He'll manhandle them like they're droopy eyed and armless, it's embarassing. He's trying to find a good program with sage and corn, as meat and seafood are the luxury of the rich and they're kind of assholes about sharing apparently. Something about it being *their land*. Joe plans to discuss this on his podcast, which he figures he'll go retro with since there isn't any electricity and all.

Yeah, it feels like "remake" is a vague term. It either means "this already sold well before, let's try to recapture that lightning in a bottle" and they go ham on remaking the UI/gameplay/etc, or, that but all they do is poorly AI upscale textures.

Where as it feels like a number of flawed games in the past are some tweaks away from being big hits. (And are common fodder for romhacks for a reason.)

But I guess that's a tough sell to a board of suits, far as the industry goes.

I'm torn on that as I agree, but they also made the gameplay worse because fore and background distinction in several areas is basically nonexistent and always "what is most inconvenient."

Looks like a ledge you can jump on. It is not. Doesn't look like one, is and mandatory or you fall to doom. That kind of thing.

Fortunately the QOL mod fanhack unironically does help this out immensely. Shame Nintendo is deeply ashamed of the whole Philips deal nonsense and refuses to acknowledge any of the games, might be some of the best games to remake in history. lol
