What do you mean by learned skill?
It is a skill you can equip at the start like any of the other skills available at the start
My point was there was no obvious pre-motion of a shield attack in SAO
So unless Caits says there will be shield skills, there won't be an attacking motion for shields

If you approved then that is different
But, throwing a rock was different, since there was a skill activated, <<Blade Throwing>> or other names it goes by
It required the pre-motion before throwing

Also hitting without skill activation works, but it has very little effect/damage
This was the problem many beginners had when starting SAO

Anyway, with the shields, you probably could parry, but I am unsure about any attacks with significant damage. Maybe stun type abilities and slowing them with bashes or something.

I don't think so
I think Caits and myself were considering adding some possible like as an extra thing
But it wouldn't be a damage source
Heathcliff used his shield to bash, but I believe that was not a system skill and therefore not effective in damage, what it did do was knock Kirito away

Fujiwara cannot start with katana
It will have to be unlocked later

I have not seen anything that allows shields to do damage, nor any skills associated with them
So ... questionable about that

Well, there's no god/goddess at the moment anyway, so yeah, was gonna have trouble with that in the first place
