In an attempt to diffuse the nervous energy building up in within him, Josh grabbed his half-finished cup of orange juice and nursed it in his hand. It worked as a great distraction from Taylor, albeit her proximity never left his mind completely. Nevertheless he managed to face away from the woman and take a few conservative sips of juice during the lull in the conversation.
It took everything in Josh not to jerk out of the booth at Taylor's light touch. With his brain working overtime attempting to compensate for his bodies plea for self-control, he barley registered her apology.
"Naw, your good." he murmured back, readjusting himself slightly in his seat to avoid another random act of contact. Not that he didn't want it, only common courtesy led him to make the active decision.
In a vain attempt to distract himself, he returned to the subject of the lake, putting the idea of him and Taylor alone together in the forest father back in his head.
"So what makes y'all so bent on going to the lake to investigate yourselves. You think the police missed something?"
