"Well..." Mindy began as she gave it some thought, "maybe now that you have a new set of clothes you could put them on and wash the dirty clothes in the Pokémon Center." She showed a fabric with dark-purple and light-grey pattern on, still wrapped in a plastic package. "I also got you this, it's a tube scarf, they are really versatile, you can use it to keep your neck warm, but you can also turn it into a hat, or, well, there is lots you can do with it, there are some instructions inside the package. If you travel outside a lot it's a convenient thing to have."
Penalopy looked at Dausiin and for a moment it seemed she was sceptical about it, but she soon showed a happy face. "I'd love to meet him~ But I want to catch up with Mew first, I know she's close. It's been soooo long~" She wrapped her arms around James. "Remeber me and her playing tag and watching the humans from that mountain village from a distance? She always loved humans as much as I do~"
"I remember," James said. "But it really wasn't that long-"
"Dausiin, do you know where she is?" Penalopy asked, not waiting for James to finish his sentence.
"Yeah, we did," Michael said.
Whitney joined them and presented two badges. "There you go," she said. "You earned them! Are you going for the league?"
Michael took one of the badges and looked at the gym leader. "Probably not."
"Well, you don't have to, of course," Whitney said. "I know some trainers who only collect bagdes of a certain type to prove for themselves they are a master of their favourite type, and they never get the amount of badges needed for a league in any region. Being a trainer is more than doing the league and everyone has to fill in for themselves what they want to do and how they want to accomplish that."
"I'm feeling better, yes," Saruya said as she got up. "Let's go back, Michael and Niccia need to know what happened."
While she knew it would worry them, they couldn't keep this to themselves. "Despite what that female Mightyena said, I'm certain they or others will be back at one point. We need to train and get stronger before that happens."
Andy led the group to the place he had seen. "You know," he said as they were walking, "we only just met, but I can already tell you are much better company than Gavin. I like the guy, although he is a bit serious, but he doesn't have your looks. I may have to tell him he's not my favourite anymore, although I don't think it will disappoint him, he might actually be relieved." He grinned. "Like the Pokémon professor I work for, Maple, she likes it when I go on long journeys for research."
Kim nodded to show she understood. "Like how Pokémon sometimes accept surrogate parents, another who is not of their species but who took care of them. They will call them mother or father, even if they technically aren't. I saw it with humans too, parenthood isn't always decided by who created someone."
