Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

Benjamin hit the closed door with both fists, but the padded door made no sound and he barely even felt it. "Let me out!"
"In this state you are a danger to yourself and others around you," the nurse repeated. "You need to calm down first."
Benjamin stumbled back from the locked door, his eyes shooting from left to right, but aside from a light in the ceiling there was nothing here. Just four walls that enclosed him. They would let him out if he would be calm. He took in a deep breath and closed his eyes. He had to stay calm.

"He does," Vivian said. "Visual hallucinations, he is diagnosed as delusional. That in itself doesn't warrant a stay at our facility, or any closed down psychological institute. He forgot to mention he assaulted a girl from his class and his own sister, both ending up hospitalized, because a 'ghost' told him to. My dear, I love seeing you getting close to people, but I fear for your safety around him. Benjamin doesn't take his meds, he is not stable. What if the next ghost he sees will turn him against you? And if you don't believe me, I have the referral letter from the psychologist who diagnosed him, and the medical reports of his victims. I even have articles from the newspaper in his file." She had a motherly smile for Ray. "But you were out of the loop due to your own... issues with your 'evil spirit', so I understand you may have missed the news. That's why I thought it was important to let you know."

Marc nodded, based on what she had told him already he had assumed that. "But things in general, or themes. Do you like art or cars or old buildings?" he asked. There were a few things they could do between the drink and the dinner, but that would depend on what Sara liked. He realized he should know these things, but they hadn't talked much in the past. He intended this day to make up for all the missed conversations they had.
Benjamin still resited them when he saw Dia being grabbed by the shadow tendril. "Dia!" he called out.
"There is no Dia here," the nurse told him. "You are imagining things again."
"I'm not imagining it, we need to help her!" Again he tried to fight off the guards, who only saw him as a patient in a violent state.
The nurse opened the door of a padded room and Benjamin got shoved inside. He went for the door, but the slammed it in his face and locked it. "Let me out!" he shouted as he hit the padded door as hard as he could.
"You can't hurt others or yourself here," the nurse told him. "Once you are calm you will be freed again."

Vivian went into her office again, gesturing to the chair Benjamin had sit in moment before. "The reason I called you here is to warn you. Benjamin never told you why he was really brought here, did he?"

Marc opened the doors of the car and gestured to Sara to get in. "Let's go," he said, getting behind the wheel. Now he had to pick a good location to have that drink, he didn't want to disappoint her during her first afternoon off.
"What things do you like?" he asked.
"Okay, I will," Benjamin said, waiting for what question it would be. If someone started like that it usually was a serious topic, so he gave her his undivided attention.

"It seems to be pretty well contained," Morrison said as he out away his phone. He looked outside through the windshield, eyeing the area they were driving through. If this was close to where they were spotted, there could be clues here. "You okay back there, Jase?" he asked without looking back. "You've been awfully quiet."
Penalopy floated back to Gavin and sat on his other shoulder, her legs on his back so she could see those still behind Gavin.
"I apologize," James said to Charcoal with a small bow, "Miss Penalopy gets overly excited sometimes." He turned to follow Gavin too, making a bit haste so he would catch up with Fez and walk alongside him.

Mindy checked her Pokégear for the weather forecast, but it was still the same as in the morning. She didn't need the map to find her way back to the Pokémon Center, she could already see the building. A glance around learned her Michael was either not here yet, or already inside.

Saruya joined Harry and Sparky. "We know you can fight, but you also draw attention to Niccia and Michael. Everyone can see you are not an average Pokémon and they could tell Harry and I are descendants of legendary Pokémon too. It will be safer for our trainers if we stay in our Pokéballs for a while and they keep Pokémon out that won't draw unwanted attention. They can call for us when they need our help."
"I will protect them," Lytse squeaked, almost immediately regretting his bold words, but he would do what he could for Michael and Niccia.
"We will do what we can too," Benny promised.

Andy nodded, he enjoyed that part of being a researcher. He leaned back in the chair as the waiter came with all the ordered foods and drinks, placing them on the table in front of everyone. Mitch and Andy both got a cup with black coffee and a small tray with milk and sugar was placed between them. The mixed treats consisted of dried berries and baked Pokémon treats.
"Thank you," Andy said to the waiter, who nodded with a polite smile and left them. "That berry pastry looks good," he said to Frosiien, pulling his plate of warm waffles closer to himself and sniffed the scent. "But not as good as this!"
Kim took the glass of water between her paws and sipped through the straw. Andy pushed the glass for Varina a bit more in her direction.

The guards who had brought Benjamin remained in the office, but Benjamin didn't notice them. He locked eyes with the psychiatrist on the other side of the desk. "You wanted to see me?"
"We need to talk about your progress."
"Will you let me go home?"
Vivian showed a sly smile. "If we have cured you," she promised.
Benjamin jumped up. "I don't need curing! I just want to get out of this-"
"Closed building with no way out as long as you don't behave?" Vivian added. "You're so agitated. Sit down."
"I will do no such thing! I just want to go!"
Vivian leaned forward over the desk. "I sometimes wonder if your problem is hereditary. Maybe we should check your sister."
Benjamin lunged forward and grabbed the doctor's coat. "If you will lay a finger on her-"
"Guards," Vivian said with her eyes on Benjamin. "The patient seems extremely hostile today. Let him come to rest in the padded chamber where he can't hurt himself."

The guards grabbed Benjamin, who tried to fight them off. They opened the door and dragged him out. "Let me go!" he shouted as he struggled to break free. A nurse walked towards them and one of the guards explained he had attacked the psychiatrist, and seeing how wild he was now the nurse believed it immediately, joining them to open the door of one of the padded rooms.

Vivian also exited her office, looking at Benjamin being dragged away. "So violent today," she sighed and she turned to Ray, showing a motherly smile. "I have time for you, dear. Please, come in." Worry flashed over her face. "Are you okay? Were the guards rough on you? I will discipline them if you want." She would do no such thing, but if it helped to coax Ray into trusting her she had no qualms making such a statement. She looked towards the guards, flashing an approving smile to them.

"Drinks are pretty standard when going out," Marc said. "So we'll do that first." He gestured to a blue car, a little Opel that wasn't much, but affordable from his paycheck and it got him from A to B.
His thoughts went back to work, going over the patients and he hoped everything would go well, but he quickly pushed the thoughts aside as he unlocked the car and smiled at Sara. He was in good company, work would be the last thing on his mind.

The hermit nodded to Duncan to accept his thanks and then turned to Gnol. "Bring some ale too when you bring your stories," he said to him, watching him walk away. Soon everyone would leave, all on their own quest. He had done what he could for them, it was up to them now.

Trevor nodded to Gnol. "We'll teach him how to drink when we reach the dwarves. It seemed like everyone was ready. He locked eyes with Mikhal a final time and turned to Noble. "Let's go," he said. "We have a few days of travel ahead of us."

A small, yellow fairy dragon flew towards the Hermits house, her body as long as hand. She dove down when she spotted some people. "Oh, dwarf..." she said as she spotted Gnol, making sure to go around him in a wide circle. Most Dwarves she had met didn't like her kind, which may or may not be related to the shiny things her kind liked to pick up and decorate their nests with, and dwarves generally had a nice stash of shiny things.
"Trevor!" she said when she recognised him, flying around his head.
"Stop doing that," Trevor grumbled, swatting to her.
"You're such a Grumpy McGrumpface again. Where is Mikhal?"
Trevor scowled at the name and pointed to where Mikhal was. The fairy dragon chimed a thanks and continued to fly.
As she flew over that group she made sure to go around the large dragons too, some dragons were nice to fairy dragons like her, others thought of them as nothing more but flying lizards and didn't mind a little snack. Of course the intelligence of the dragon species was a factor, some were carnivorous beasts whereas others were compassionate plant-eaters. And dragons could be everything in-between. For that reason she made sure to stay away from the group with the three large dragons. Although the yellow one looked at her with kind eyes, the red one had a grumpy look to him.

The fairy dragon flew around the Hermit. "Mister Oldface!"
"Autumnleaf," the Hermit greeted her.
She landed on his shoulder. "Linda. That's how Mikhal chose to call me."
The hermit nodded. "Linda. Mikhal is there."
"Thank you." She flew up again and went to her friend. She noticed the two large dragons and decided to stay out of their way until she knew how they felt about her kind, but there were two of the cutest small dragons she had ever seen! They would be able to play together and have fun! And there were three human females, they would all make fine mates for Mikhal if he would be interested in them. And Mikhal seemed to have a new male human friend too, as they were talking.

Mikhal turned to Alan when he asked him for an estimate. "It should be something like that. If we keep up a good pace, I reckon we only have to camp two nights." Suddenly he felt small claws on his shoulder and something yellow from the corner of his eye. He turned his head to look at the fairy dragon who had landed there. "It's nice to see you again."
"Who are your new friends? Where are you going? Can I come too?"
Mikhal laughed at the waterfall of questions. "You can come, we're going to the Dragon Sanctuary-" he smiled when he heard the excited 'ohhh' from the fairy dragon "- and these are Ricky, Rai, Meria and Alan, with their dragon-friends."
"Hello everyone!" Linda said. "I am Linda Demi Autumnleaf."

Fiona had seen the fairy dragon approach, it seemed like a lively one. She let out a small growl when Trevor just swatted at her, but much to her relief both the Hermit and Mikhal were kind to her.
I'm ready," she thought to Rachel.
Rachel nodded, she checked the gear and put her bag on the saddle before getting in. "I hope we won't run into any trouble."
Or fly, Fiona added with an amused sound.
"Fluids, we need those too. Water would suffice, but most like some flavour to their water. Coffee has a strong and bitter taste, lots of people add milk or sugar to it, but it also has caffeïne which gives a boost of energy. I don't know how you will react to that, but if you want a cup you can have one."
He filled his own mug, adding a bit of sugar to the hot brew and stirred it with a spoon.

Now he had a guest, one that knew very little of humans and the world they lived in, but he also had to go to work and it was a bit too late to request the day off. He contemplated what the best course of action would be. Right now he just wanted to get the Laizu through breakfast.

"You should try flying," Benjamin said. "Imagine going on a flight with Harriet and Gaia, you could have so much fun. I'm sure Harriet would love to fly with you. And you may even get to join more missions if you can fly with them." He put a hand on her arm. "It is a part of you, you might just as well get acquainted with it."

Morisson grumbled at the mention of fallen angels, he hoped that wasn't the case. They often caused a lot of trouble and he already had a busy night planned. "Right," he said, "let's see what people reported on the internet about it." He took his phone and searched for mentions about these angels on social media or news reports. Luckily he couldn't find much, which meant the problem wasn't as big as he had feared.
"Depends on if you're looking for a short-term or long-term stay in your prison," Andy said from the doorway. "If it's short term I'd say you can eat whatever the taste buds on your tongue will appreciate. If you want to stay healthy for the next decade you may want to include lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your diet." He walked further into the kitchen, went to the coffee maker and pushed the button; he always prepared it before going to bed so he wouldn't have to deal with that in the morning.

"It comes down to this: we need nutrients from foodsources, proteins to repair and maintain the body and carbohydrates and fats for fuel." He tapped on the bread. "This is a source of carbohydrates. Cheese and meat, like the salami, are sources of proteins and fat, fruit like in that bowl also deliver carbohydrates. There are also micronutriets that we need for various reasons, but I'll give you a book that you can read if you want to know the finer details. For now I suggest you try and see what you like and you go from there. Some food needs to be cooked first though."

The kitchen filled with the scent of freshly brewed coffee, a scent much welcome to Andy, who grabbed a mug from the cupboard. "Coffee?" he asked his guest.
Penalopy let go of Gavin and floated to Charcoal. "You have wings~" she chimed, examining them and then pulling on them to examine them more closely. "How cool is that? Will you grow a second set when you evolve? That would be amazing!"
James quickly walked to them. "Excuse me," he said to Charcoal with a nod of his head. "Miss Penalopy, you really shouldn't touch a Pokémon wings like that."

Mindy watched the others for a moment before continuing to the Pokémon Center. Her Dragonite followed her on foot.

Michael looked at Sparky and then at the Pokéball. "Missy is resting," he said as he reluctantly took it. "Do you really need her?"
"She might be safer in her Pokéball," Saruya added as she joined them. She looked at Michael and then at Niccia. "Two Mightyena attacked us, they are looking for descendants of Legendary Pokémon."
Michael blinked when he heard that and he held the Pokéball in his hand, now he was even more reluctant to let her out.

"Of course she does," Andy said, putting a hand on her head. "We've been together for years." He grinned as he listened to the second question. "It has its upsides and downsides. The upside is that I learn about Pokémon every day and I get to travel around in the name of research. The downside is I'm supposed to write all my findings down in boring reports and papers, and working for someone means I have someone breathing down my neck like a Charizard when I take too long writing the damned things."
