Benjamin had just opened the file when Harriet suddenly appeared next to him. "Whoa," he uttered when he moved away and slid off the bed on which he had been sitting on the edge. He quickly got up to sit down again. "Yeah, I called. I didn't know you could teleport though." He looked at Harriet. "I take it you haven't seen Steph's room then. Things are not going well and I don't know where she is. Agents, including Mike, think of her as a demon and let it be known to her they see the demon first. There was a note on her door too. Maybe you should come read it for yourself." He went to the door and gestured to Harriet to follow him. The note probably meant she had left, but to where? Benjamin's stomach turned with worry and he halted in front of the door, gesturing to the slurs and the small note as he looked at Harriet.
Mike decided to head to his room, he left the library and walked slowly to where the bedrooms were. He still tried to wrap his head around what had happened; Steph had not reacted like he had expected and it had felt very real. Was she so good at emotional manipulation, as Stuart suggested? All he had read so far seemed to agree with what Stuart had said.
Morisson glanced to the side when some kind of greenish light caught the corner of his eye. Where those... runes? He glanced to Jase who had his eyes closed briefly, until he was forced to look at the road ahead again. Humans could learn to do magic, that in itself was not an indiction Jase wasn't human anymore, but it was obvious the man had changed a lot.
When they reached the gate he pushed in the numbers on the panel, waited for the gate to open and drove through. Behind them the gate closed as he drove to the parking lot.
