After Lily left she went to a nearby control room, with screens that showed what the creatures were up to. She was informed about what the others had seen in the time it had taken for her to leave them and come here, but her eyes were glued to the screen that showed the common room. What were Gaia and Steph doing? A hint of annoyance crept over her face. If Gaia was feeding Steph, that was not good. She decided to let them do what they wanted for now, but it wasn't fair. She let out a sigh, sometimes it was easier to put them in a cage.
Someone tried to give her an update about how the siren boy was doing, but she brushed him off. One of the other scientists, one who cared about siren boys, could handle that one.
She noticed some movement in the camera and smiled. Ah, another of her darlings entered the room.
A small woman entered the common area; dressed in a pink kimono and her black hair in a knot on the back of her head. She eyed the others for a moment, and then walked sereenly to the water tap to drink some water. Not wanting to disturb whatever the two winged girls were doing, she walked to the spider woman instead.
"You're new here, aren't you?" she asked, her voice having an accent that showed English wasn't her native language.
The camera revealed something that looked like an animal, a dog or something. Ethan shrugged and handed the camera back to Morrison. Dogs were common in the city.
"Here's the deal," agent Morrison said as he turned to Ethan. "The old base is evacuated; the boss said it is compromised."
"You mean that if Gaia can break out she'll come back for revenge and the boss is afraid of her."
To Ethan's surprise, agent Morrison chuckled. "Probably so," he admitted. "I wasn't told the finer details, but it's likely those demons will want revenge." He nodded to his collegue agent Barrow. "We'll bring you there; we'll take a break and then hunt more vampires. The night is still young."
Despite the injustive that happened to Gaia, the idea of hunting more vampires appealed to him, so Ethan nodded and followed the older agents. He kept an eye on the area around them, he still couldn't shake the feeling they were being watched, but all he had seen around was that dog.
