Bio

Hello everyone. I'm Dutch, a mother of a 8-year old boy and I love both rp-ing and writing. Since May 2020 I'm one of the contests mods.

I started with writing Dutch stories in 2002, I was already 19 at that time. I joined a writing competition and that got me started. Soon I started to write down all the stories my over-active imagination came up with. I had my first forum rp experience in 2003 on a Dutch fantasy forum. While I continued to write, I stopped rp-ing when the particular rp and forum slowly died. In 2011 my love for rp's rekindled when I joined a site with a forum and I started to RP solely in English since that is the language of the site. This is also when I wrote my first story in English.

I've got a few 1x1 rp's going on this site and a couple more on another site. I've always been a fan of writing competitions and I joined a lot several of the ones that were hosted on this website. Now I get to host them myself and really enjoy that too.

When you come here to check if I'm online, know that even when I show as online I might not be able to respond to RP's. I open this site so that when I have time I can spend some time here, but I don't always end up with the time to do so.

If I haven't replied in a while, feel free to poke me. I don't ghost on purpose, sometimes I just forgetful and if I read your reply and accidentally closed the tab I might forget I was supposed to reply T_T

I have received the first entry.
Fenna listened to the explanation of the gold contract. It sounded doable, especially if they could take a moment to rest and maybe practise a little bit. Fighting with a spear had been a new experience and she had done so almost instinctively, but practising would definitely improve her skill. She hadn't even used the longbow that had been in her... stone box yet. She refused to call it what it looked like most – a coffin implied she died and she had no recollection of that. As far as she knew, she was just transported here, somehow.

When James suggested waiting until the next day to go to the Academy, she felt the weight of the cube pressing down on her. Would she have to keep it with her all night, hoping the water ninja wouldn’t try and take it from her? Lilliana had almost died carrying the cube around. She shared a look of concern with MacKensie and it was a relief to see her fellow ranger wasn’t thrilled about it either.

She went down with Mackensie to hear what James had to say, nodding at Joji after he said he would be back soon, and once everyone was on the same page, she headed out to the academy.

The walk up the Citadel Mountain was hard – it had been a long day and she felt her body protest against even more physical activity, but if she wanted to have any rest that night she needed to get rid of the cube. Let the people of the Academy examine it, guard it, eat it for all she cared. She couldn’t help herself glance around for any signs of the ninja while walking towards the Academy.

The impressive building made Fenna pause and take in the details. The grand arch that served as entrance had many coloured lanterns, fuelled by… magic, if she had to guess. It looked more like electrical lights as they had back home instead of a flame, and seeing there was no electricity here, they had to be fueled by magic somehow.

She stepped onto a hexagon-shaped courtyard surrounded by buildings that reminded her of Gothic or Baroque architecture; a large fountain in the middle drew her attention - the white basin was decorated with what looked to be sea creatures. The statue of a woman who undoubtedly had meant something to this country - or this academy at the very least - was even more impressive with her eyes on the entrance as if she watched over this place. The people meandering or hasting across the courtyard gave them barely any attention. A small group was philosophizing about life, someone was reading on a bench, a young woman ran across with her arms full of books, and two swordfighters were examining a sword one of them had purchased.

“Excuse me,” she said to a man wearing robes – he seemed like the kind of person to work here. “We are looking for someone called Clarissa Shields, we were sent by Lucinda Bottrill from the Adventures Guild. We have a letter.” She gestured to Adam, who had taken the letter as per James’s suggestion, or instruction. “Could you please tell us where we can find her?”

The man was kind enough to send them to the main building at the top of the courtyard, and she looked at her companions before thanking the man and heading in that direction. Once inside the main building, she noticed a group of four talking to each other, they seemed busy with something, but maybe they could help them further.

“Excuse me,” Fenna said once again. “We are looking for someone called Clarissa Shields, we were sent by Lucinda Bottrill from the Adventures Guild. We have a letter for her and a mysterious cube that needs to be investigated, of which we can only explain how it got into our possession.”
Michael wasn't sure if he was ready to talk with Arceus about this, nor was he sure that now was the best time to plan a fun trip with Arceus's offspring. "I'm not exactly sure what to ask him..." he said, giving a nervous glance to Arceus. "My home region is not next on the list, I don't know when I'll be able to show you two what it looks like. I'd love to, don't get me wrong, I just..." he wasn't even sure how to finish that sentence.

"They are fire types," Netherlu commented. "Of course they'll be gorgeous." He gestured to himself. "I mean, we have evidence for that statement right here." He winked playfully at Nygari.

Benny had first gone to Andy and then flew to the gathered group. "What a party," the Butterfree said. "It looks like we'll be leaving soon, I heard Andy talk about it to Mindy. Bear and Merlin are actually napping now, can you believe it? I'm going to tell Arceus the nectar was suburb. Or am I not allowed to approach him?" Benny looked at the three legendary Pokémon to see what they had to say about it.
The nurse smiled at her. "This is a new medicine, so you may experience some side effects, but it is better catered to your needs and once those pass you will feel better," she promised. "It's likely you will feel drowsy, for instance, but if you feel anything else, be sure to tell us, okay?"

"I didn't..." Marc began, but wasn't sure how to complete that sentence. He hadn't stopped it from happening, but this was policy, wasn't it? It wasn't fun to see a patient being sedated, although, Benjamin wasn't nearly as aggressive as most patients who needed a sedative. Sure, Benjamin struggled against their restraining, but hadn't they pushed him to the ground first? Of course he'd struggle. Should he have stepped in? He wouldn't even be able to physically pull them off Benjamin.

"I didn't ask for them to come," he eventually said. "I didn't call for security. He was agited, but not aggressive in any way."

He crouched down next to Sara. "But you are helping people, aren't you?" the tried. "Isn't that why we work as nurses here?"
The moment the words left his mouth he thought back to what Benjamin had said. Patients here didn't usually have a firm grasp on reality, most were delusional in one way or the other, but Benjamin didn't seem to display the same patterns and behaviours of most patients.

Benjamin was dragged to the office and seated in the chair. He had trouble focusing on the words of the head nurse, but he could tell she was berating him about his medicine use and how he'd never get better. He blinked a couple of times in an attempt to focus. Why was she smiling? She asked about his breakfast and he shrugged, he couldn't recall what he had, he couldn't even recall what he had done today. Hadn't he been talking with someone? When he got handed a pill and instructed to take it, he followed the instruction and was dismissed.
The men who had brought him there escorted him out and dumped him on the couch of the common area, where he fell sideways, turned on his back and stared at the ceiling.

@LoksfjoerWho are you and what have you done with Calle! xD

Shh, this is my new secret identity, just pretend everything is normal.

I'm fine with your post btw ^_^ Not quite ready to post right now, but I'll write something as soon as I can.
Three weeks left before the deadline. Are you still plotting and planning, or have the first words been typed already? I can't wait to see your entries!
Ghosting is a real part of roleplaying, and if there is no communication that says "hey, I don't like this RP anymore" I prefer to see it as an indefinite paused RP rather than a dead one. If someone doesn't like the RP anymore it would be nice to get a head's up, but I understand that usually doesn't happen for reasons.

I had a good RP going where my partner posted once a month. The posts were worth the wait, and in the meantime, I did some other RP's or wrote fiction for myself. She stopped visiting the website we RPed on years ago, but if she were to come back today and asked to continue where we were, I'd happily do that.

I myself am a "once a week" kind of RPer (although I have been slower, but I try not to be) and I make sure my partner is aware of this before we start, to avoid disappointment.

The way I cope with setting up plots that get ghosted: I write them as fiction for myself.
I suppose we can split up, dropping it off doesn't need the full party and Fenna would also like to get rid of it as soon as possible.
Anyone want to go with Fenna to drop off the cube, or are we going to wait for the morning to do that?
There were lots of things he wanted to say, but Mike kept his mouth shut. Now was a bad time to start an argument, especially with a being like April, but the comment of the devil being angry about something her demons had been doing to humans as well was not taken kindly. It was obvious April was holding back some anger and it was probably showing he was doing the same thing, but for politeness' sake, he'd let it slide for now.

"Tea please," Benjamin said. "And cappuccino?" he asked, looking towards Mike, who confirmed with a nod of his head. Benjamin rubbed his hands together. "And I actually would like something to eat, if that's okay," he added. "I don't know what you have, but something with eggs would be wonderful. And maybe, once we have our drinks, we can discuss the names you don't want to mention yet because right now I have no idea what you two are talking about."
