I've said it before. I'm a little biased against dragons just because of how pervasive they are in the game, so you might be shafted when it comes to getting custom cards/support later on. I'll try to be as impartial as I can though.
I'm a little curious about your character's family; whether you want the little brother to attend the school, possibly in the next school year assuming we get there. My guess is that his biological mother is still alive. This of course might be spoiler-y to the other players, but if this is something you want to include as part of your character's story, please do PM me about it so that I can plan accordingly.
I like the over-all cohesiveness of your character's deck.
All in all though, these are just notes and I really have no problem with your character as far as it being accepted. So. Accepted.
Thanks, glad to hear it.
The little brother, as far as it goes, pretty much acts as a timer for if one of my friends joins in. If he doesn't, though, then it will basically be used as char development.
Nonetheless, I can't wait to get started.
Edit: Oh yeah, just to be clear, the deck's custom cards aren't building Dragon-type as the Archetype. It will slowly build an archetype around... I guess you would call them "emotion" dragons? I searched back into similar issues, and thought I should make it clear.
Name: Sikao Yuryu Sex: Male Age: 18 House: Odd-Eyes house
Appearance: Yuryu's hair is medium black with a blue-streak in the shape of three lightning-bolts running through his fringe. His eyes are dichromatic, his right eye a darker shade of blue while his right eye is blue, slowly turning a foggy-grey at the bottom of his iris. This is something that developed in his early childhood while living with his half-brother. His skin is a light shade of olive, and he stands at 5'8" tall. He often wears a blue singlet over top a black, sleeveless coat. (Artwork will be provided later)
Duel Disk: Yuryu's duel disk is very similar to the current times duel disk. Colored Black with white trim, the play field is a bright-blue, and the screen is a large circular window. The difference between Yuryu's duel disk, however, and the current is that on the surface next to the screen, an insignia of two dragons circling is embedded on the face of the duel disk. One of the dragons is shaded dark-red, while the other is a clear picture of Yuryu's "Lock Rage Dragon" card.
Personality: Yuryu takes a very serious tone to dueling, as well as towards any duelist who seeks to challenge him. Otherwise, he is quite laid back, however prefers to keep to himself, trapped in his own thoughts, rather than make conversation. He does not shy away from communicating with other duelists when the topic of becoming a better duelist arises, although he very much prefers people address him as Yuryu, as he was not raised to use his first name lightly. If annoyed or tested, he can become easily frustrated, snapping at a moment's notice at people who try to get on his bad side.
History: Raised with his father and stepmother, his late mother had left him and his father mere months after he was born, with no notice of why she left or where she went. As such, he and his half-brother lived together during their childhood. Unlike his younger brother, who was often kind and laid back, Yuryu had trouble befriending others and was easy to anger while he was little. This anger was tempered as he grew older, and although Yuryu and his brother were very different, they both had three things in common: They both loved to duel, they were both very prideful and the both HATED to lose.
One day, during his early teenage years, Yuryu had recieved a card from an unknown sender: Lock Rage Dragon. The moment he had touched this card, duel's began to play out very different, especially his brohter. He couldn't explain it, but all of a sudden his win rate shot through the ceiling. He was even offered the chance to go to The Saotome Duel Institute, a place where he could study and learn more about duel monsters. Jumping at the chance, Sikao Yuryu took the next boat off, excited to begin the next chapter of his duel monster's career.
Wish: To duel against his younger brother until the end of time.

Jack was happy about the idea of having a prehistoric Pokemon on his team. But even more so, he was glad that nobody was seriously hurt during the attack on the college. Curiously, the professor seemed to have no such trouble with battling Damian, and this made Jack wonder how strong of a trainer the professor really was.
Nonetheless, he hadn't been harmed. As they went on to revive more Pokemon, Jack stayed and watched over the revival process of each individual Pokemon. As they went through to explain the complicated process, Jack pulled out his Pokedex, making sure to add each species as they were reborn. He couldn't believe how many prehistoric Pokemon there were.
After they had finished, Jack put away his Pokedex made his way to the reserve.
Jack dropped to the ground as the main hall filled up with fog. Precariously, he kept his gaze low, seeing the slightest of movements from under the rising fog. Before he could make a guess to which direction Team Arclight were escaping, they had already fled. The fog slowly cleared once more, and Jack looked around to assess the room, pulling out his favorite thinking tool: his mini color cube. Solving it between his hands, Jack's gaze went blank as his thoughts began to break down the situation he and the other trainers had just faced.
"Their group takes off in the midst of battle after only being here for mere moments? It's quite possible that what they were after wasn't the fossil machine itself..." Jack questioned himself, trying to figure out their agenda for coming here. He had so many questions about what Team Arclight wanted to accomplish with the fossil machine. As his fingers kept spinning the cube, his gaze turned to the machine with the massive speaker that man, Damien, had left behind. Jack walked over to it, inspecting the machine, and taking the CD in his hands.
"This was the cause for the music earlier. I wonder if leaving it here serves another purpose?" Closing the player, Jack slipped the CD in a pocket underneath his fur hoodie, and placed his cube back into his pocket to rejoin the others. Specifically, he walked over to professor Jonathan. "Excuse me, sir, are you alright? The Pokemon that man, Damien, threw out was clearly the strongest of them...." Jack asked the professor with care.
The Arclight Grunt split off from his comrades and led Jack away from his as well. Finally he stopped and sent out a Voltorb to do battle with Cubone.
Jack smiled at the sight of a Pokemon that looked strangely like a Pokeball. "Bonesaw! use Bone Club" he commanded, as his Cubone charged forward, waving the Bone in one hand in a flurry towards her opponent.
The Voltorb was hit 3 times before it rolled backwards away from the attack, looking slightly dazed. It collected itself and quickly a shot off a Sonic Boom at the Cubone.
"Jump back and get some distance, Bonesaw!" Jack said to his Cubone. As it jumped back from the oncoming shockwave, it was able to dodge the shockwave this time, but she needed to be wary of how close she got to the voltorb. "hmmm... use Focus Energy, Bonesaw, and slowly circle the enemy!" Hearing Jack's next order, Bonesaw brought herself to a stance, readying her club as she pumped one of her tiny fists, and began slowly walking around the Voltorb.
The Voltorn didn't really know how to approach this situation and neither did the trainer, so the Voltorb just shot off another Sonic Boom at where the Cubone was going to be if it kept circling.
"NOW! Headbutt." Jack yelled. As the Voltorb began to fire the Sonic Boom, Cubone immediately ran straight forward, it's Bone still low to it's waist. As the shockwave flew past, aiming for where Cubone would've gone if she had kept circling, she brought her head down to charge the opposing Voltorb.
The Voltorb was hit by the mighty Headbutt, but it began shaking strangely as it fainted from the damage. It then released a massive burst of energy, the Aftermath of its defeat and it's pent up energy being released.
Jack was unprepared for the Voltorb's sudden explosion. "Quick, Bonesaw, Jum-" but it was too late. With a subben burst, the impact of the Voltorb's final attack caused Cubone to cry out in pain. Worried, Jack ran over to check Cubone. "Are you alright, Bonesaw?" he asked his partner Pokemon. Slowly, she got back up, wincing as she held onto her Bone Club with all her strength, using it to help her up until she could finally stood once more. Jack sighed with relief and look towards the Grunt, smiling. "Is that all you have got?" he said, as he and Cubone stared at their opponent with the same look in their eyes.
The Arclight Grunt smiled as he sent out his last Pokemon, a Lombre. The Lombre immediately dashed towards the Cubone and suddenly stopped, clapping it's hands in front of the Cubone to Fake Out its opponent. It then shot out some Bubbles at the Cubone to take advantage of the flinch.
Jack had not anticipated it's next move to effectively daze his partner Cubone. When the bubbles came forth, a look of fear colored his face white. "Shake it off and dodge, Bonesaw!". The Cubone blinked twice, suddenly reacting to the bubbles being shot towards her. As best as she could, she tried to avoid them, but immediately took a blow to the side of her face from an oncoming bubble.
As she took the hit, Jack thought to himself about his options. He had only one potion left at this time, and needed to consider either using it and switching out, or continuing to fight with Cubone. "Bonesaw! Return" Jack commanded, pulling out his pokeball, as the beam of light shot from the ball, recapturing his partner Pokemon. Sending out another Pokeball, Squirtle had suddenly appeared to the field in Cubone's place.
The Lombre hadn't been expecting a switch out so it had shot more Bubbles in its attempt to take out Cubone. The Arclight Grunt cursed under his breath but remained assured in his victory.
Jack was calm seeing his partner, Squirtle, out on the field once more. "Squirtle, dodge it and fire at Lombre with a water gun!" Jack said to Squirtle, smiling once more."Squirr!" It replied, jumping away from the direciton of the bubbles, before taking a deep breath in. She tilted her head down, firing her water gun in a line towards Lombre as she brought her head up, the stream firing across and directly towards her opponent.
The Lombre didn't even bother dodging as it stood still and let the Water Gun hit it directly. It stung slightly, but otherwise it meant nothing to the Grass Water typed Pokemon. The Lombre made an Astonishing face to try and make the Squirtle flinch, but otherwise it just stood there.
The opponent's tactic had squirtle startled for a moment. She certainly didn't expect Lombre to simply take the attack, but it made Jack's plan all the more easier. "Now, Squirtle! Charge at them with Rapid Spin". Adhering to Jack's words, Squirtle popped into it's shell from a run, as the now wet floor allowed Squirtle's assault to slide across the floor with ease. She spun towards Lombre with rapid acceleration!
The Lombre and it's trainer were so confident in their victory that they didn't notice Jack's plan until it was too late. The Lombre didn't have enough time to dodge as the Squirtle slammed into it, sending it flying back towards its trainer. He stumbled back a bit as he held Lombre as it fainted, running away quickly and disappearing amidst the mass confusion.
As the Grunt fled after the battle, Jack kneeled down as Squirtle ran back to his call. "Well done, Squirtle" Jack praised, as he pat Squirtle's chest before returning Squirtle to her ball. Jack then looked back towards the Fossil machine and thought to himself, not leaving his knelt position. "If more of them show up, I'll need to offer as much help as I can." He then brought back Cubone out and sprayed her down with potion.
"This is the last potion I have, Bonesaw. If we fight again, I won't be able to help you until we arrive at a Pokemon Center, understand?" Jack said to his Pokemon, expressing his concern clearly. As the Cubone nodded, letting out a 'Cuu~' from beneath it's helmet, Jack pet the top of her skull with care. "You did well today. I'm very proud of you, Bonesaw." He said to Cubone, as he returned her to it's Pokeball. Slowly getting up, he jogged back over to the fossil machine, regrouping with Leo who had just finished his last battle.
As Jack walked across the entrance of Amalgam, he reminisced his days in high school. Many of his colleagues who had finished high school went on to study at university, but not one of them would go on to become a Pokemon trainer. It was weird to think about how different the world Jack grew up in was different to the one he now walked.
Shortly distracted by his thoughts, he realized that his aimless wandering was causing a scene among few people around him. Jack quickly entered the main hall, but stopped seeing a familiar face: Leo!. Him and a small gathering were all watching an old professor explain something about fossil revival, while holding what Jack deducted was the fossil of an extinct Pokemon, a Tyrunt so be named.
As he slowly made his way over to get a closer look, a bright light shined as the fossil was put into the machine behind the professor, and suddenly the crowd of people around him loudly cheered, as the fossil had been transformed into a sleeping, lizard-like Pokemon. Jack was stunned by what he was seeing; a Pokemon was now born from the bones of it's oldest ancestors. "Is this the kind of research Sycamore does? Or could it be..."
His train of thought suddenly crashed. As the professor continued his lecture, the sound of a guitar beat at Jacks eardrums. Though it started out distant, it was immediately distracting to Jack, as it grew louder and louder. Suddenly, four men burst into the main hall. The one holding a guitar made a rather hostile scene, as mist began to collect across the ground. He shortly said that his name was Damien, releasing a giant Pokemon towards the professor, as the three grunts in front made their way towards the fossil machine.
Without hesitation, Jack quickly made his way towards the fossil machine, but then noticed Leo standing out in front. Shortly afterwards, another strange looking trainer and his Totodile followed after him, seemingly joining the battle that was about to start. Smiling widely, Jack ran over and joined them. "Now it's three on three, gentlemen. Come out! Bonesaw!" Jack declared, as he released his Cubone onto the stage, grinding it's club gently along the floor in excitement.

One rest and several hours later...
After sleeping on the way from route 9, the morning was met with Jack's perseverance to continue. Now that Bonesaw had joined his team, he felt a strong desire to train his Pokemon. He was disappointed to find that he would not be met with a challenge on his brisk walk through the cold morning light, but on the way he found a large sign displaying the destination up ahead:
Welcome to Amalgum University!
Jack stared at the sign for a moment blankly, his smile not quite visible beneath an expression of thought. From the passing mention of this place, all Jack Schreiber really understood is that this place was dedicated to the education of Pokemon. He didn't quite know what specifically the university studied, but he became more and more curious to know. Was it similar to the Professor's research? Jack suddenly forgot about his urge to train before those thoughts finally returned to him. He thought carefully for a moment, before being struck with inspiration. With haste, he searched for a clearing at the edge of the route and then decided to pull out two pokeballs.
"Come out, Bonesaw! Squirtle!" Jack called, summoning his Pokemon. As they were unleashed from their respective balls, the two gave Jack a waiting look as he, in return, examined his pokemon. Though they seemed to have retained some of their damage from battle, they had both recovered their stamina. Jack's smile returned, as he crouched down on one knee and pulled two potions from his pocket, spraying the two Pokemon down. Happy to have recovered their wounds, they looked at each other and then back at Jack with excitement. "Alright, you two, before we reach Amalgam University, I came up with a training regiment that we'll be using over the next few days. Squirtle, I'm going to have you fully Withdraw yourself, while in turn Bonesaw is going to beat against your shell, for as long as you are able to before you need to tap out. When you do, Bonesaw, you will hold your breath while Squirtle fires his water gun at your skull in short bursts, until you need to tap out. Since this is the first time we put this training into effect, we will go seven rounds of this before we call a break."
The two looked at each other, with feelings a blend of nervousness and determination. As they began the first round, both Pokemon tapped out rather quickly, with Bonesaw lasting only noticeably longer. Following that round, the two Pokemon seemed to go on over a minute and a half each, lengthening their time as though they were trying to see who could endure this training longer than the other. The next round went for two minutes, then two and a half... When the last round came, both were able to make it through at about an equal length of two minutes and forty seconds. This stunned Jack, the two Pokemon had spent a full half-hour through this training, and it had only been their first attempt at it. Praising both Pokemon for their efforts, Jack pulled out another pair of potions to replenish their health, and returned them to give them a well earned rest. Should he be put in a position to battle, Jack thought to himself, this training should improve their efforts to become stronger. Satisfied with the time he had spent coaching his Pokemon, Jack smiled as he made his way to the entrance of Amalgam University.
Jack threw out his Pokeball towards the Cubone. From within, the challenger, Squirtle, appeared with a smile of determination. It seemed she was very proud of her last fight, and she felt completely ready to take on her next Opponent. "Squirtle! use Water Gun!" Jack commanded with a wave of his arm. Taking a breath in, Squirtle fired a stream of water towards the opponent, Cubone!
The Cubone seemed to make a sort of laughing noise as she was challenged, slipping into battle mode as Squirtle was sent out. She skillfully dodged the Water Gun and began dashing towards Squirtle, swinging her Bone Club at her.
Jack wouldn't let Cubone down. "Quick, Squirtle, use Rapid Spin!" he yelled to his companion. With haste, Squirtle jumped into it's shell and charged the assaulting Cubone. The collision caused squirtle to become slightly dazed. Feeling the impact through his shell, She came gingerly back out of her shell.
The Cubone wheezed as she was assaulted by the spinning shell and went sliding back a little as she tried to catch her breath.
She shook her head and went charging back in with a nasty Headbutt to try and hurt the Squirtle. It would be a test of what was harder, a mother's protection or the Squirtle's natural defense.
Jack saw this opportunity to get the better of her head down. "Now, Squirtle, hit him again with Water Gun!" and upon his command, Squirtle let out another direct beeline of water towards the opposing Cubone. Jack knew that unless Cubone's head was stronger than Squirtle's jet of water, Cubone would have no choice but to somehow back off or dodge.
The Cubone did not see the jet of water as it rocketed towards her, as her head was pointed down. This left the thick skull to take the brunt of the impact while Cubone powered through it. It continued with its Headbutt.
Jack was caught off guard, he didn't think the Cubone would continue through Squirtle's Water Gun. "Quick, Jump Ba-" but it was too late. Before Squirtle could respond, he sent back by Cubone's headbutt. Jack almost ran over to check on Squirtle, before watching her get up slowly. She was clearly in pain. Wondering how much damage Cubone took, Jack decided that he should try to catch Cubone now. Without hesitation, he quickly threw out his pokeball to give Squirtle a moment to breathe.
The Cubone was certainly in pain, but she would be damned before she let herself be captured like this. The Cubone smacked the Pokeball away with its bone and stood it's ground. Her warrior's pride demanded she continue fighting until she could no longer move. She Focused Energy to let her hits hit harder and motioned for the Squirtle to come at her. This would be the final strike.
Jack figured it wasn't going to work, but it gave Squirtle the time to breathe, and for him to come up with a simple enough strategy. "Squirtle, Use Withdraw!" Jack ordered Squirtle, as Squirtle quickly went back into it's shell. With this in mind, Jack thought to himself, the Cubone should take this as somewhat dishonoring. All he had to was wait while Squirtle increased it's own defense.
The Cubone rushed the Squirtle and began to swing it's Bone Club at it once again, just because it was a warrior didn't mean it was just going to take an obvious opportunity to strike. The Squirtle would probably have time for one final attack.
With Cubone rushing towards Squirtle, Jack smiled and let out another command: "Squirtle! Once again, fire another Water Gun". And from hiding within her shell, a blast of water appeared, streaming towards Cubone. As Squirtle fired, the blast of water slowly pushed Squirtle's tiny shell back, and now she had the treeline at her back.
The Cubone was critically hit and dropped to one knee, barely holding herself up with her bone. She looked at Squirtle and it's trainer and nodded, she recognized her defeat and was ready to be captured. This trainer will train her well.
This time, Jack was satisfied. Even if Cubone somehow dodged the attack, Squirtle would have kicked off the trees with rapid spin, and slid off the ground, damp from her Water Gun, and hit the descending Cubone. At the same time, Jack was very lucky in how that attack hit: If that attack hadn't been enough, and his plan had failed, it may have gone in Cubone's favour.
Returning Squirtle for a well-earned rest, Jack tossed another Pokeball at the defeated Cubone. After the ball shook in place for a short moment, the ball clicked and went silent. There was a long pause of silence that was held, until Jack finally smiled and said I did it... I've captured my second Pokemon". Walking over to pick it up, he thought of Leo and his Flabebe for a moment. "Leo gave his Pokemon a nickname, too. So I think I'm going to call you Bonesaw." he declared, happy with the new name he gave to his partner.
Registering Cubone into the Pokedex, Jack quickly began to wonder where he should go. There wasn't any sign towards the direction the road was going, and he knew Brittanium City was the opposite direction. Jack was then about to reach for his pocket, but instead he decided to keep following the footpath. His Pokemon were both tired and hurt and he figured out quickly that he should get to a Pokemon Center, and he had already walked so far up the path. If in dire need of healing, he could always use his potions. And so, he followed the route towards Amalgum University.
