How are we all doing today?
It's probably best debated now for those of us that are unfamiliar with those teleportation methods.

I would assume this to be important for later to make sure teleportation doesn't become the end-all-be-all to getting around any defenses.

So, the conclusion is that shields stop teleportation?

Essentially why I asked, and particularly spurned on by the threat of having commandos just teleported onto a vessel.

But having a consistent rule about it would be cool, though we have a couple of different teleportation methods. I understand for Trek why shields block standard transporters since they convert matter to energy. I can also see why teleporters that utilize wormholes/space folding wouldn't be hindered by this limitation. Much, in the same way, the Stargazer's spore drive allows it to perform near-instantaneous travel through the mycelial network. This too would circumvent traditional energy shielding.
Avenger does not have guns, but if you go rogue, you'll find a squad of badasses teleported to your ship to explain it is a bad idea. Directly into your mind in some cases :D

This reminds me, in Star Trek you generally can't teleport through shields (they bend these rules as the plot requires though), is this generally the same across the board in other universes with both shields and teleporters?
Yeah which is where my earlier headache comes back around.

Different universes play by such different rules.

I'm excited to see how they react to the CAS-class weapons ^^

It's interesting because in Trek lore, for the most part plasma based weaponry is considered outdated.

Personally, I’m not worrying about it too much. I’ve discussed what the Malevolence could do with Sep, and firepower or not, basically all it has going for it in the capacity of a warship against this enemy is the Ion Cannon, and even then, that won’t directly work on the Replicators until it’s properly attuned/modified with help from people that know what actually hurts these things, like the Hammond.

The real big guns of the Malevolence are its commanders. Grievous is operating on Legends/2003 feats, and Sinnali is a top-tier Force user, again operating on Legends Force abilities more than Clone Wars/the movies.

So, as far as a role for this ship, I expect the Malevolence will spend a lot of time doing little but preparing to strike at a critical moment, collaborating with other ships to make sure it can do so effectively. Grievous will probably manage that. Meanwhile, Sinnali will probably join the ground teams in investigating that way, perhaps playing body-guard to the more tech savvy. Or those roles might be switched; depends on how I’m feeling when a the moment to choose arrives.

Yeah on the inverse, my crew are at their best on the Stargazer. The ship has a lot of tricks up its sleeves. Definitely plenty tough for its size and capable of packing a decent punch.

Thankfully quite a few of the ships in this game so far have close enough to peer-threat level of technology we can ignore differences.

Except for the Avenger, I feel sorry for the Avenger.

We'll have to avenge the Avenger when it falls.
Rationalizing how different weapon and defense systems from various realities is one thing that makes my brain hurt.

Everyone wants their vessel to stand a chance in a fight.
It was an active recruitment, they know. We had a lil' heart to heart in a 'World Between Worlds' to meet before we came to this reality.

Except for the Stargazer who is only here due to Q's shenanigans.

He just wanted to cheer Picard up after Data's death.
