@Lucius Cypher sure, if you spend some time taunting him, gain a dark heart. he'll use that opportunity to whack you with his hammer on the head (or whatever Darc keeps his brain?) which will give shock to BRAINS. you can roll to resist it.

SMASHing him into the ground will give you strong position strong effect so long as nothing changes about the battlefield. let me know if you take the dark impulse or not.
@VeyrinDay nope it's free cost

@Lucius Cypherthat's a mix success, so describe the success part as you wish. However, he falls but the consequence is he grabs onto you -assuming your using your long reach Living weapon ability to sweep his legs- that you try to sweep him with before you manage to pull away from him completely. this is going to put you in a worse position for running away and may affect other rolls as well like FINESSE depending on what you choose to do next. You can see he's reaching down to his belt to grab some sort of small hammer.

@Dark Cloud Zaz'ac hears the sounds of the Mares rearing and panicking into the woods as lightning spooks them, though he can still hear their calls. Theres a quiet dripping sound from the front of the wagon but otherwise Zaz'ac is pretty cozy. He has no idea what some of these tools do. There's an few spare outfits in here as well, which he recognises as what the Lightfolk were wearing. A couple in human size, several in dwarf size, and one that's closer to a halfling's cut.

Want to find out what the rest of the group does because that might affect Zaz'ac too ;)

@Poohead189 Who's your target for your summoned whip (also roll INVOKE if you plan on using that spell)? There's a young dark haired human woman and a dour elderly dwarf who are attempting to flee, and Darc is facing off against a prone dwarf who's trying to drunkenly wrestle Darc like an alligator.

@VeyrinDaymissed this part of your post last night, groggy sleepy brain:

the ritual spell will be enabling the succubus to Absorb the dead victims to recover her from Partial Paralysis (Tier 1) or Draining the still fighting woman (Tier 2)

go ahead and roll tier 1 INVOKE to drain the fresh victims of their energy if you'd like. I'll give you strong effect if you drain the caster who used the ring on you since it was his magic that did this to you. I'll let you decide if turning his own will against his goals would please Iziza enough for DEFILER to tick again.
might miss some action tonight but i can catch up tommorrow. Managed to squeeze an intro post in at least!
Vivienne's gaze roamed the map leisurely, a faint spark of interest hidden beneath a thick malaise. "Orcs and Goblins you say? No nasty surprises in the mix as far as we know?" she asked idly, hoping for a straightforward job for once. The healer shuddered as she thought of some of the untimely ends she had witnessed to mad wizard's abominations and undead horrors. Orcs and goblins were a terror in their own right, but Vivienne would be glad if - just one time - things could actually go well. She looked at the others gathered today around the table, thinking they looked like quite competent adventurers. A rogue for traps, both melee and ranged capabilities, perhaps a well-rounded team... she worried for the barbarian, as a healer she often had to keep an eye on the gung-ho types, but resigned the problems of the battlefield to the battlefield.

She leaned in a little closer, not wanting her thoughts to distract her too much from the matter at hand.
@Lucius Cypher Assuming you're going SMASH- He's sobering up in this storm but that sweep is still going to be strong effect since he's already unsteady. You managed to prevent a weak position and are currently going toe to toe with him (regardless of amount of owned toes). assuming you're going PRECISELY - same position but average effect since it's harder to aim it perfectly with rain and mud and forceful winds. assuming you're going a different action - effect/position may change depending on which skill and how you approach it

heads up i'm off shortly but i'll be on tommorrow
@VeyrinDay If you want, later down the line after a level up or two you can switch the racial out for the Zealot Class ability since Baganaria would be able to do her racial as an invoke later as she gets more powerful and control over her abilities. However defilier gives you access to tier 2 invoke for free when it ticks over anyway.

I actually really like the idea of the succubus being able to use her defiling ability that way lol. very fitting for a monster.

So I don't think your god would accept a sacrifice of this nature since it goes against her domain (sacrifices are usually done in honor of a god to please them) and rituals are a downtime action (from a later phase, after the raid), but if you know you want to do a ritual down the line you could take one of the survivors as hostage if you want to sacrifice them. usually the sacrificial victim is chosen for a specific reason, i.e. there is something about them that would be pleasing to their god

So the surviving Lightfolk are a weathered elderly dwarf who is fleeing, a tall human black haired woman fleeing, and a very drunk young adult dwarf who Darc almost ate but hasn't really joined into the battle yet. At most he's staring at the slime on the wall while his brain kicks in, but that could change quickly depending on if an action goes badly. The sunken face man has been gored by Krieg and the halfling has been killed as well (not posted iC yet)

wow thought i'd already posted this reply and it's just been sitting here _-_

@Lucius Cypher that's a fail so you take 3 stress and partially resist it. so you don't take shock to muscles but you instead miss a few precious seconds of the fight, so you're now in sync with krieg killing two people (if he chooses to kill the halfing too)

@Dark Cloud 1 stress cost per use. Remember if you hit max stress it's not the end of the world, just means you do more monster things ;D

@POOHEAD189 excellent, your in a normal position normal effect, might move to a strong position after the INVOKE depending on how it goes. You can roll whenever you want or wait if you'd like.

Alright folks, I'm open to what happens next.
@Kenshi awesome, how does the rolling work in this game? do you tell us when to roll, or do we roll whenever, or do we tell you what we're doing and then you roll to see what happens?
[@DarkCloud] Sure, they're finely carved limestone walls, quite shear with detailing near the ceiling and floor. It's fine workmanship.

Here's the post if you're having trouble finding it, got quite fast in ooc last night:

Sneaking into the corridor you skulk along the finally carved limestone walls. You manage to enter a larger square chamber, with five Lightfolk sitting around drinking booze and eating recently cooked game. A cheerful halfling woman, a human woman with long raven-black hair, an elderly dwarf and a sunken-face human man sit around enjoying each others company. There are backpacks and pelts and even a tent set up in the corner. They all seem to be wearing similar garb, apart from the elderly dwarf who's clothes are a darker leather.

You can see the old stone structure continues onwards into another area, though what you glimpsed down that corridor makes you think some of the architecture may have caved in from time.

So the trick is a mixed success, you can narrate the success part as you like. It's a strong effect so they will all follow you out this building, however you stumble in the muddy ground at the last moment when you almost reach the group and they are (drunkenly) stumbling after you as you all slip around in the mud and rain. This will put you in a weak position next roll, if things go badly they could catch you.

@Kenshi you successfully smash the halfing as well (unsurprisingly, minotaur vs halfling) so you can kill her, maim her, whatever you want.

@Dark Cloud you cut the horses loose and head to the cart. You find a selection of tools and supplies. Some of them look like pickaxes and such, other tools look more delicate and you're unsure what their use is. There is some preserved meats, blankets, and miscellaneous ropes and pullies.

Mechanically speaking you've just found a carriage filled with Good Loot and you will get to roll more dice on your loot rolls later in a different phase. The crates are quite heavy for a kobold however, so you'll have to solve the problem of getting them back up the cliff pass.
