Computer is broke AGAIN. Dog jumped on me when I had a glass of water in my hand, but some of it leaked in. Posts are going to be slow for the next week.

@Stein this is exactly why I asked if it went to far. As for "Reading like it was written by a racist white guy" that's because or was the 50's and that was almost everyone in television at that time was, a racist white guy. Hell, this was a time when, if a coloured actor won an Oscar, they weren't allowed to go to the award ceremony.

Apart from that, I think you hit the nail on the head with the rest of it.

It's not meant to offend, more to fool the reader into a false sense of security:

Comic: "Hey guys, remember '50s TV? Everything that was so good about America before all of the drugs? The Honeymooers, The 3 Stooges..."
Audience: "Yeah, that was nice."
Comic: "Remember all of the wholesomeness? Just nice people doing nice things and thwarting the plans of evil people? Good always wins, Bad always loses."
Audience: "Yeah, that was such a magical time, they really didnt appreciate what they had."
Comic: And who could forget all of the Racism? Every black man was a stereotype, every Indian was a villain, every Native addicted to gambling. Such a golden time in American history."
Audience: *shuffles feet nervously* "Oh yeah..."

@Flamelord Love it, but disappointed that best boy isn't aboard. Everyone is always going on about how Okita was best captain, but mah boi Hijikata was objectively better. I mean, who else could pull off a strategy that involves diving into a black hole and surviving? Not fuckin' Okita.
