Ash was panting hard and shook her head weakly, her eyes dull now that the threat was gone. “No…I have a medical machine…Nurse Moth but…she’s with the Capital guard right now…they are doing training and I wanted her to go help if anyone was injured…”

She held her wound as she swayed more to the side but she fought to stay up right. “Healing magic…isn’t my thing…for myself…my blood…Magic…healing isn’t part…of it…I’ll have to…clean this…up…” she faltered a bit; blood now flowing from her wound as she started to fall to the side.

Serena looked over and said “Bane? What do you…” then it clicked. Lucifer smirked and said “I always thought your god hound was more then he showed…his pulling strings to keep fate on track…”

Bane looked at her and said “I knew Serena’s Father more. Your mother was his partner. They kept the balance of things for a long time…but I don’t know what happened. I would have said if I did. Both of them were attacked when they were apart…my partner felt your mother be attacked then he was hit…I couldn’t do anything for her and for that I’m sorry. I didn’t want you dealing with my guilt so I didn’t tell you.”

He moved and sat down, leaning forward. “The kids I did set up a path. When you were taken in Seattle and Serena lost control, I felt the time line spilt. So I used my powers to send…bread crumbs to the future in case that other timeline took hold. That’s all. Lucky for me your kids are very smart and driven. I don’t know facts, just images and feelings. What I can feel thru shadows. I wanted to set up a path to fix this…”

John didn’t speak, letting Bane and Kay talk.

Ash cried out as they moved inside, the wound bleeding badly. Then she said “just…get it…inside…the work room…” she was weakly trying to hit a button on her arm band, sadly being on the other side of the bleeding painful arm.

The doors burst open and the bot came in. Aiming the blaster at Ash and Chi as it walked towards them. Ash seemed to be waiting then said “gotcha” right as the robot in a coat was in front of the workshop door. Then she hit the button. After five seconds the door flew open and a hard form came flying out into the bot, taking it down and slamming it over and over. The form turned out to be a huge turtle looking machine who kept slamming until only parts remained.

Ash panted as her own gun fell from her hand and she swayed on her knelt position. She said “thank you…for getting me…inside…”

Lucifer looked it over and frowned. “You’re right…it doesn’t fit. We have this book in the library. It isn’t even the right topic…” he paused and said “someone sent this to you…moving the book into place and knowing you would use the spell. This spell is a two way time spell. An anchor is set up ahead of time and then the spell pulls to that point. Someone is setting this up…but how and why?”

Bane sighed and said “a lot. And yes…I knew about the kids as soon as Fia showed up to save John. I put the anchor in place when the kidnapping happened in Seattle…I knew what was coming. It’s all happened before. And I wasn’t losing another guardian like this…not like how I lost your mother and Serena’s father…”

Lucifer smiled and said “Maze? Mind grabbing a pad and pen for us. I want to ask though my dear fire bird…was the spell written in the book or typed? And if it was typed was it the same font as the rest of the book?”

Serena was wiping her eyes and asked “what are you thinking Luci?” The king of hell leaned back again and said “just checking an idea…to see if the spell was put there for Fia to find…by the one who helped these kids get here in one piece…”

John shook his head and got up. “We can ask him right now. Right Bane? I’m guessing you are linked to the house now…” there was a sigh then the shadows moved from Kay’s and human Bane appeared, his eyes glowing. “Seems we need to talk…”

Dartz finished up and nodded. “Now we can go bring things to the table. It’s quite the crowd here…a lot of friends the boys have gathered” he looked at Cora and asked “but your not like them are you. You are new to this friend thing just like I am”

Mokuba nodded and got up “stay here. I’ll get it” he ran off knowing what his brother needed.

Serena frowned and said “why are you still tired if you feel refreshed?”
