Athanasia Theroux & Arthur Stanford

Location Hades Cabin

The Hades Cabin was gloomy and Athanasia studied the black walls from her perch on a blood red coffin shaped bed. Her fingers absently tugging at her lower lip before she gave a sigh. This entire camp was odd, to say the least. With a climbing wall that spewed lava and falling rocks, a lake filled with naiads, satyrs, and dryads filling the hills between here and there to name a few of those oddities. For someone who had grown up trailing after a mother who enjoyed oddities, Athanasia had thought herself well acquainted with such. Apparently not, she was forced to admit. Considering her mother, Athanasia felt a good deal of ire that Ryssa had kept this information from her. How could she, when it was appearing to be so very important? Monsters were trying to kill her, now people were whispering. And not in a good way! Standing up, the tiny ten years old paced as she thought to herself before considering the other person within the cabin. "Did you know? Suspect?" Athanasia demanded shortly, a disapproving pout on her face. "Arthur." Now that they were alone Athanasia was shorter with her temper and less charming, but there was no hiding the confusion and slight fear in her dark eyes. She was only ten and had been chased by Cyclops, found out her father was the God of the Dead and now that she had a brother she had never known about. It would be a lot for anyone.

If there was one thing Arthur could appreciate about the Hades cabin, it was the shade. The place seemed to be much cooler than he would have expected his living quarters to be, something he assumed would make the summer months much more manageable. He too was processing still that, presumably, his mother had hidden from him that he was a demigod, or if she hadn't known of her partner's godhood, had at least cheated on his father. He had to get in contact with them at some point in the future and find out what on earth was the situation there. Giving a look back at Ash, he cocked an eyebrow. "Did I know? Of course not." He said evenly. He had to keep it together, one of them had to be stable through this, and as the older one, it was thus his responsibility. "How are you taking this? It's... Shocking to say the least." He asked, turning to face her, clearly perturbed.

The tiny Athanasia grimaced as she gave a pointed look towards the entrance/exit of the cabin where sunlight streamed in cheerful rays. "I don't know." Answered a small voice. It hadn't been what she meant to say but it was the honest truth and she needed to trust someone. Arthur had been a good ally back in the Crystal Rivers School for Troubled Youths. He was her second in command, and who could she possibly trust more? Kiera was having to deal with her own cabin, alone. Wincing at that thought she perched on the edge of the coffin bed and wrapped her arms about her knees. Her chin being propped up by them as she watched her half-sibling. "It's a lot, but it's what happens in the stories right? I mean, it was scary when the cyclops were trying to eat us." A flicker of anger slipped across the young girl's face. She would not soon forget Roman and his crew. If she ran into that Cyclops again, she would be ready. "But I have seen strange things before. My mom studies ancient things and likes to pick apart skeletons. She's an- anowhatisit?" Shaking her head, Ash tilted her head at Arthur. "What do you make of this?" She jerked her head to include the entire camp.

"Archaeologist?" Arthur asked, strolling over to her, and sitting on the bed across from her. He frowned and rested his hands in his palms. This was hard, probably harder than anything he'd done before. "I suppose it is, isn't it?" That stumbled on an interesting point. There were countless stories of Greek heroes, plenty of whom must've been demigods. Brushing up on them might be a worthwhile thing. "Maybe we should read up on some of the old myths. It'd be fun, and be good for us..." Realizing he hadn't answered her question, he laughed a little and said. "It's absolutely insane. And cool. And scary. And the stuff of fiction and legend." He said to her. "I think I'm scared, excited, and a million other feelings I haven't processed yet." He said, keeping his eyes on her. "We just gotta keep our heads up, and we'll make it through."

"Oh, la! Of course, we will. We dealt with Cyclops after all." Athanasia gave a shaker smile. Trying to appear calm and sure of herself. That is what was proper after all. "We will read up on the myths, though I think we ought to bring Andy with us". She, Andy, had seemed lonely.

Arthur gave her a sad smile, and stood back up, moving next to her, and sitting by her side. He knew she wasn't feeling okay, and he was now, of course, responsible for helping her out of that. He wrapped her arms around her and said. "Exactly, we got away from a Cyclops, after being thrown into this with no preparation." He told her, squeezing for a second, before letting go. "We're gonna make it out of this, ten times more awesome than we were before." He didn't know that of course, but he was trying to reassure and help her, and himself, however, he could.

Athanasia blinked as Arthur gave her a hug. Startled by the affection though grateful for it. Patting his shoulder awkwardly as she didn't feel quite right about hugging him after he had just hugged her. There was a certain amount of room for returning a hug and she had missed it. though she did scoot to her press her shoulder to his. "We already have a dagger to kill them next time and annoying skull I can spike off their heads." There was a muffled protest from within her backpack that Chatters was meant for more than being bounced about. Something about 'contenders' and 'could have been'. Ignoring the skull, she grinned weakly up at Arthur with that mischievous smile though it was a great deal shakier than usual. "There's two of us. I say we have it the best of the entire camp. Especially since I'm obviously in charge." She smirked with a 'Hades may care' tilt of her mouth and a challenging gleam to her dark eyes."I was efficient back in that school." Giving her half-brother a teasing nudge of her shoulder.

Arthur gave her a light tap on the back of the head. "Nope, it's my turn to be in charge." He said, smiling back at her, "Two excellent reasons why I should be." He started, turning to face her totally. "For one, I'm older than you." He nudged her back, stifling a laugh at her. "And for another, I effectively called dibs earlier. And I bet Chiron would have me in charge over you." He stood up and jerked his head towards the door. "We could go ask him if you wanted."

Ash squawked and covered her head as Arthur tapped it. Her black eyes giving a malicious glower at the older child of Hades. "One year-ish. You are older by one year-ish." She grumbled straightening her hair. "And that's three reasons! Not two! But you can be in charge- for the sake of appearances. But we discuss things before settling on anything!" She reasoned with a pointed look at Arthur. "Partners. My brother. Partners."

Arthur pressed his hand to his chin and pretended to think for a moment. He chuckled and nodded. "Partners then." He stretched his hands above his head, and said, "But if it's that easy to convince you, I might as well be God-King of the cabin." He said sarcastically. For the first time today, things seemed to finally be getting better.

'God-King' went a bit far as Ash struck poking her brother in his ribs and ruthlessly tickle him. "God-King? I think not!"

Arthur started laughing and pushed her away a bit. "Fine fine fine, just stoooopp." He said, smiling. "I'll be King Arthur. Plain and simple." He acquiesced.

"King of Plain and Simple minded." Athanasia jabbed as she stuck her tongue out. "And foolishness. Now shall we take a look about the camp? We have hours to-" She shrugged and gestured absently. In truth, she didn't know what to make of this. It was all so much.

"Let's." He agreed, trying very hard not to roll his eyes as he walked to the door, and opened it, stepping out, feeling a bit better about where this all seemed to be going.

It was four hours later and Athanasia found herself sitting at the table for Cabin 13. As if their cabin didn't just scream 'potential psychotic pipsqueaks' enough. Though the pale girl was more amused by that fact than anything else. Though seeing the number of campers assembled, she was a bit concerned. Two hundred was a very large number after all. Perhaps there was some relief in having only Arthur's face and name to remember and knowing him from before coming to this camp. When the time she had come, she had followed the others to scrap some food (The best of course) into the brazier and frowned slightly at the memory. So the gods enjoyed tasty smoke? It was bizarre. Though when Andy caught her eye, Ash gave the girl a wicked grin and wave, giving a less wicked grin and more friendly smile to Kiera and a quick wave before hurrying after Arthur. Though seeing one of their erstwhile rescuer join Kiera, Ash felt some relief. At least her ally wouldn't be alone. Though, it seemed Desdemona wanted exactly that. Surrounded by the children of the Goddess of beauty, the older girl looked like she would enjoy the solitude their cabin had offered. Nibbling at the food with a methodical pace that was slowly devouring everything within her reach as well as drinking iced tea from the magic cup, Ash studied Andy and nudged her brother under the table with a foot. Her eyes flickering between Kiera and Leda and then Andy. "Do you think we could kidnap her from that lonesome table?" She noted in an undertone as she considered the situation. If he wanted to play 'In Charge' then he could very well take a partner's concern and she was curious if her new found brother would step up to toe a line here in this new environment.

The feeding of smoke to the gods was certainly an odd thing for Arthur to accept, but he figured the nature of the truly divine was bound to be unlike his own. Taking a modest amount of food and drink, and looking at the group of people sitting, he nodded quietly at Ash. "Wouldn't be very hard at all, I say we go and grab her the first chance we get. Sound good?" He asked, giving her a small smile as he suggested that.

Bart frowned at Giosue rebuffing him, not expecting that kind of reaction from a comment. It was understandable though, this was a stressful situation to say the least, and tempers were likely to be short for everybody involved. He was interested though, as Gio seemed to potentially get some kind of idea behind what was going on. He seemed to be keeping details to himself for now, but he was used to that by now. If he had wanted them not to understand what was going on, he'd have addressed The Hat in one of the many languages they both knew than none of them did. Certainly though, he wasn't going to question for further clarification now, and he even shot Sophia a look, annoyed that she wouldn't just go through the portal instead of asking.

He himself took no such issue. He knew that Gio wouldn't be sending them somewhere that he either wasn't (relatively) safe, or otherwise unnecessary. Looking upon the portal, he steeled himself for what ever might lay behind it. He was a little worried about leaving the plantation behind, without scavenging, but he assumed they'd be back later for that. That was the magic of time travel, of course, they could go somewhere, spend as much time as they wanted there, and be back whenever they wanted. Assuming, of course, that things still worked the way they did before. Shrugging, he stepped through the now opened portal.

Bart gave a befuddled smile at James, as he started considering alternatives for them if the camp was lost. Though he wasn't immediately opposed to taking up a life of superhero-dom, now didn't seem like the right time to be going off on that. He just kind of looked on at him, opening him mouth once in a while, as if he was about to say something, but couldn't find the words. Maybe he and James just had different opinions on the seriousness of the collapse of local space-time, but he had trouble thinking of anything besides that. He looked back towards the Plantation, just in time to see the world go from looking normal, to almost as if he'd had a little too much to drink.

"I take it this isn't normal then." Bart noted, and followed after Gio. He looked around at the world, and tried to rack his brains for what could possibly explain the situation in front of him. Based off what he knew, which wasn't much, his options for explaining what was happening before him was limited. The only possible explanation he could start to come up with was that somehow, the world had fallen out of sync with itself. As if the shimmer was caused by two instants, right next to the other, happening in parallel. He doubted his ability to even vocalize this hunch, as he hadn't even fully formed it in his head, but this was his coping mechanism when he had no power; trying desperately to come up with explanations instead of focusing on his helplessness.

Arthur did everything he could to hold back a smile at Desdemona's new look, but a smile broke through nevertheless. That was absolutely hilarious. Des was his friend, sure, but this was the most ironic way things could have gone for her. Meanwhile, he diverted his smile to Ash, and said, "We'll look out for each other, of course." He told her. Even if he felt a bit responsible for Ash, he knew he couldn't just make her feel that way. She was far too headstrong to let him try to take care of her.

He was more interested in the Zeus Kid, given that he was the king of the gods and everything. "Decent." He nodded, before rolling his eyes at Chatters. If he'd be sticking around, fine, but he wasn't too happy about it. The skull seemed annoying at best, and he didn't particularly want to talk to him. He wasn't one to tell people what they could and couldn't do though. "If you're gonna keep him, that's your business, I suppose." He said, shrugging, and giving her a playful glower back.

Bart gave a melancholic smile as Faith said goodbye and left. He stifled a laugh at her version of a goodbye, and turned back to the forming group. Peter was alive, which was something to be addressed, but certainly was better for later. They had to leave the camp grounds, He didn't like the idea of losing the small number of possessions he'd acquired, but they did have The Hat, and he wasn't much for sentimental value. He gave a funny look to Gio, essentially having been told to leave quickly, but calmly, away from the collapse of time itself. The order might be good advice, but it took a level of self control he wasn't sure he had.

"Right, The gate. I'll be on my way then." Bart said in response to Gio. He started off towards the gate, taking one last look around at the place he'd learned to call home. The Plantation was a good place, all things considered, but moving on would be something new too. Who knows, maybe they'd choose somewhere farther in the future for their next base of operations? That would be of interest to Bart, especially if they ended up going past the early 2000's. He was very curious to see what would happen to humans in the future, and living there would certainly be a way of finding out.

Arthur looked surprised at the fact that he'd had no siblings besides Ash. He supposed that didn't make too much of a difference, since any family he would now have would be in name only. It would have been a good groundwork for new friends though. Not one to be put off by such things though, he simply smiled over to Ash, and said, "Guess I'm gonna be watching over you for awhile then." It stood to reason that if only two of them were in the cabin, that one would need to be in charge. He would take this role eagerly, and now it was his by the sacred law of "dibs".

Honestly, the open air camp grounds were a lot nicer than the stony hell that was the school he'd been forced to live at. He took a moment to breath and ground himself. His attention, however, was drawn to the blind girl, who'd be claimed. "I'm sorry, which one is Hecate?" He wasn't up on his Greek gods, and he wasn't sure he'd heard of that one before. He did want to check out their cabin though, so he did nudge Ash and say, "Perhaps the best place for your new... friend is in our cabin for now?" That would satiate his curiosity, and alleviate the group of the rather annoying bone head.

Going into a situation like this blind was less than ideal, obviously, but having the leadership of The Hat and the experience of the other Emendators gave him comfort that they might not be totally screwed. He politely nodded back at James, keeping his full attention of the situation at hand. Assuming the worst that they could deal with seemed to be a good strategy to him, it'd mean they'd be prepared for their worst case scenario. To him, that was that the loop was crumbling, which probably meant staying near The Hat was still the best course of action. He didn't really know what that would mean for him, though he'd assume it would leave them on November 1st, 1943, that wasn't the sort of thing he'd be willing to bet on by any means.

As they reached Siduri, he initially couldn't place her new compatriot, having only seen Peter once, as a corpse. Once the Hat spoke to him though, a look of understanding and surprise cross his face. A small amount of pride also crossed into him as well at this, having anticipated that these people might've been able to restore the dead, even if he had thought it unlikely at the time. Putting that aside for now, it was certainly good that they now had a new ally to face whatever they may be about to face, especially considering that Alicia, and Alexandra were now gone. Taking a moment, he turned and faced Faith, "Looks like it's time for us to part ways, for now at least." He said as Siduri seemed to be ready to leave, and take Faith with her. "Don't go falling apart without me, okay?" He said, forcing a smile at her. Truth be told he was worried about whatever she might have to undergo to get Eve back to them, but if any of them could do it, he really did think that Faith could.

The first thought to cross through his head was about the distinction between being a god of Death, and being a god of The Dead. Thinking about it for a moment, he presumed this was why Hades was often heralded as the kind of the underworld, meaning that he wasn't actually responsible for the death of individuals. This made helped alleviate any potential feelings of worry from being sired by somebody with such a problematic domain. That being said, his emotions still were in a bit of a shell shock. "Right, dagger is deadly, like most daggers. I'll be careful with it." Normally, he might be able to find a more tactful way of phrasing that, but at the moment, he was unable to do so.

"So..." He was kind of thrown off by Athanasia's continual barrage of questioning. He liked the girl enough, but god, she didn't really have an off button. Collecting himself, he paused for a moment, closed his eyes, and returned to the conversation with a smile. "Well, I certainly can't wait to meet our other step siblings, is there a weekly meetup, or something of the like?" He asked. He figured half-bloods with the same parent would probably get together in some way, people having connections like that tended to help. If not, he considered starting one, and cementing himself as a leadership figure at the camp. Even in the advent of earth shaking news, Arthur still had machinations stirring in his head, it just was who he was.

Bart smiled as Faith seemed to be able to actually address her feelings. To him, this was a signal of great progress for her, something he would have normally taken the time to recognize and congratulate her for, but the earth begun to shake and rattle beneath him. A look of worry crossed his face, and he said, "Whatever it was, I doubt it was good." He said uncomfortably responding to her. "Let's go check that out. Now." He said, turning his back to her, and starting towards the door. If Niburi was coming this quickly, they were fucked beyond all measure. That being said, he found it hard to imagine that this was anything else.

As he walked towards the backyard of the house, he had a troubled spring in his step, evidently scared of what may lay before him, but nevertheless resigned to confronting it. As he stepped out to the back of the house, he saw The Hat and James congregating outside, heading towards what he could only assume was the source of the disturbance. As he stepped towards them, he figured that announcing their presence to them would only be good, keeping people aware in times of potential danger was obvious protocol. "Faith and I aren't far behind." He called out to them, making his way closer to the swamp. "Any idea what we're dealing with?"

Arthur was relieved as they hit the ground, apparently finally free of potential threats, at least for the immediate future. He was about to take a moment to get accustomed with the area in front of him, when two skeletons erupted from the earth in front of them. Ready to leap into action again, he barely got out ,"I thought this place was-" Before the skeletons presented him with a blade. Gingerly, he took it from them, and played with it in his hand. Cold to the touch, he was unfamiliar with wielding such a weapon, but hopefully he'd get used to it. "This is different than your weapons." He noted, having seen theirs to be of shimmering gold.

Looking between Athanasia, he asked, "Any reasons for that?" Before taking a quick second to see the symbol floating above their head. He nodded along to his apparent half-sisters questions, but tacked on one more. "You missed the most important one though, who is our father, or mother?" He asked. He had some guesses, the big one coming to mind being Hades, but there were other gods of death probably, and today wasn't a day for assumptions. He looked over to the senior campers, figuring they'd be given them some explanation.
