Elizabeth Flame

Location: Gift Shop
Skills: Blindfold, Pyrokinesis

Fresh meat was in town, that's what Beth had heard, and far be it for her to not go have as much fun with that as possible. It wasn't every day that somebody new showed up after all, and she knew exactly where they'd be heading. She'd long since learned how to navigate the halls of this hotel, after the near millennia of walking them, she could even do it without her blindfold. Making her way down to the shop, she couldn't help but smile, it was hard to keep thing interesting in the afterlife, same thing day in and day out, it drove an old girl mad, but new things helped with that.

The gift shop may be big, but she had a very specific set of skills, one of which particularly helped her find people where it would normally be difficult. Sending out a ping, she could sense that there was a person who felt differently than anybody she'd met before. Making her way towards her, she could sense that she was trying out a weapon. "Careful with that, you'll put your eye out, trust me, I would know." Beth said, stepping out into the aisle, and lifting up her blindfold, to reveal burning flames where her eyes used to be, a wide grin on her face. She hoped she didn't scare the girl too much, but she'd been waiting for a chance to do that for a long time.

Oliver watched them talk as the director and everyone was caught up to speed, talking about him and what to do, he cleared his throat and said, "The way I see it, and forgive me if this is breaking the chain here, but I'm feeling pretty involved. What we do next is dependent on one thing, and one thing alone." He looked over at Dr. Strange and said, "Doctor, or anybody here, is there any way to evacuate the city? Because if not, we need to move." He crossed his arms, visibly uncomfortable with the line of thought he was going down, "That monster, he razed Cardiff, my home is in flames, and I won't let another city burn for me. As long as I stay here, hundred of thousands are at risk." His voice was clearly emotional, but it was how he felt. He wouldn't let this happen, he couldn't.

Looking down at his phone, he wanted to see if the base could withstand a hit like what was happening on the other side of the world, but it seemed iffy. While he was there, he checked in on his home, to see it was still burning, and Captain Britain injured. Biting his lip, he looked around, "Every second I stay here, more will die. Now if we can fight this off, I'm all for it, but I just.... I don't want people to die because of me." He looked back at them all,"If we can't do that, we can't let Thanos take the fight here. We just can't." He voice broke a bit at the end.

He looked over to Tempest, and stepped towards her. Of them all, he felt closest to her. He wanted to say something, but now didn't feel like the time, and even then, he didn't know what he could say. Meeting her eyes for a moment, he forced himself to smile. He wanted this all to be alright, but he didn't know that it would be. All he could do, was act as if they could make it through this. "Thank you." That was all he managed to say for a moment. She had grabbed his hand, spoken to him and brought him out of his state. Goose may have dragged him physically, but before she had spoken to him, he felt like he was drowning; her words pulled him up. "I need to do what I can to make it through this for now, and... I just want you to understand how much you've helped with that." He quietly said to her. He'd talk more later, but if there wasn't a later, he had to tell her that.

Switching into her robes, Eliza gave her cat one more pet on the head, and walked back into the common room. Looking around, she didn't feel much like talking to anybody here, not especially getting along with any of them. She supposed she could try to talk to Paige, but she'd had enough of that for the day, she thought. Instead, she might as well get a move on and head off to the Great Hall, she had some thinking to do anyway, given the recent events that had come to pass. This was not at all anything she was expecting for this year, but hell if she was going to reject it because of that.

It seemed almost like everything she could ever want, the ability to do good without having to listen to the Ministry and faff about as an Auror. It seemed like they might be able to act with a degree of autonomy that anybody fighting for true Justice needed; it was impossible to stop evil when you had to dot your i's and cross your t's, after all. Still, she wasn't naive, she saw that this would turn her into a child soldier, technically speaking, and that merited recognition. But she wasn't a child really, not anymore, she hadn't been for quite some time.

Elizabeth smiled at Peter, he seemed nice, and she felt a bit of a surreal moment. Was she technically a superhero now? That was an odd thought, wondering if people would, at some point know her name, and have her as their favorite. She wasn't totally sure how she felt about that. However, she quickly continued to answer his question, "I'm doing pretty good, I've never been at a wedding before, but this is great." She smiled, and then said, "Spiderman's pretty cool, but I gotta go Iron Man." He had to be her favorite, he gave her a kickass new arm, after all.

Hesitating for a moment, she decided to continue to say, "He actually, um." Her mouth felt dry, wanting to back out of her sentence, but finding it too late to do so. She didn't want to address her own amputee status, but she was already all in, and her voice quieted a bit, "He gave me this." And she held her arm out, showing it off shyly. "That makes Mr. Stark pretty cool in my book, you know?" Clearing her throat, she said, "But um, what about you? How're you enjoying yourself?" She shifted topics a bit abruptly, feeling a mixture of embarrassment and shame at showing that off. She didn't mean to make this all about her.

Bonnie was a goddess among women, saving him from a veritable murder that could of happened to him of they knew about how he just assaulted two of their teammates. He owed her one, big time. Taking a moment, he checked in on Cardiff, seeing it was still under fire, but evacuation was underway, and Captain Britain bad made his way there. That didn't totally put him at ease by any means, knowing that there was a nonzero chance that Captain Britain was, in fact, a Skrull. Hopefully, though, if he were one, he'd be able to put it together than there was a pretty big threat at hand. Switching his focus back on the events at hand, he glanced at the terminal, and had something else he had to satisfy his curiosity about.

Digging through it, his face lit up in surprise and excitement. The raptors were real, living raptors, and he had access to them on command. Thinking almost on impulse, with a few keystrokes, he set it up so he could get back to this screen right from his phone, essentially equipping him with total control over the facilities defenses, and he made sure to make a hot button for releasing the raptors, because why the hell not? Slipping his phone into his picket, and stepping away, he nodded at Bonnie, saying. "I should be able to get back here if things get bad, so yeah, I don't mind leaving." Before he did though, he grabbed the rest of the vials of Wolverine blood. If people got hurt, he might be able to use them to keep them in the fight, and that was deeply important to him. After that, he walked off, making his way towards the Hangar.
Arthur Stanford

Location:Arthur's room

Rocking in a fetal position, Arthur's throat was burning and his head was pounding. Everything hurt, his reality had gone through the shredder three times in the past two weeks, first when he found out gods were real, then when his sister died, and now that his friend was murdered in front of him. Hearing a knock at his door, he tensed up, ready to lash out, but at hearing Andy's voice, a part of him calmed down. He found his arms clambering up to the doorknob, and pulling it open for her, saying nothing for a few moments.

Exhaling, and crawling out from behind the door, he made eye contact with her, his lips trembling. "It isn't fair." He said, his voice wounded. He wanted for everything to stop. He'd have taken going back to that accursed boarding school over staying here, if it meant all of his friends still being alive. He had tears streaming down his face still, and he just said, "I... I don;t know how to go on. I just... don't." Almost whimpering, he wanted somebody to tell him everything would be alright, but he knew nobody could do that.

Eliza was a quick one, and caught what Dumbledore had said, and she frowned. Looked like she'd still be serving out that detention. Not wanting to stick around though, as she had to leave her stuff alone on the train, and years of growing up in Slytherin taught that certain members of her house would fuck with her if given the chance, so she had to focus a lot on not giving them that chance. Following Paige back, she didn't care much to make conversation, keeping her mouth shut for the trip down, luckily getting the password from the least savory of her house, Snyde, flanked by Ismelda.

"Smelly! How's yer foot?" She asked, pleasantly, flatly ignoring Merula's question. Figuring she was already in enough trouble for tonight, she wasn't interested in fishing for a fight, especially when Snape could be anywhere. Brushing past them, she headed up to her dormitory, happy to fined her stuff untouched, with Shadow happily playing with a dead bird. That struck her as odd, given that they were in an underground dungeon, and she peered down at the creature, but Shadow seemed happy with it, and there wasn't anything immediately wrong with it, so she left the creature be.

Oliver drew breath and peered at the Not A Cat, forcing himself to smile, he scratched him on the head and slid the mouse toy along the ground. He realized something in that moment, that, as painful as it was, an unendurable as it was, the past was set. The future was all that was ahead of him, and he had to choose to survive, if he wanted to. The road ahead wasn't going to be easy, if possible at all, but if he were to have any chance to make it out of this alive, he'd need to fight for it, harder than he'd fought for anything else before. The monster had razed a city in an attempt to get him, and because of that, survival was no longer a choice, it was an imperative, for giving up would be an insult to the countless lost.

Oliver forced himself to stand up, "R-right." He said, nodding at Sparky, before continuing, "You have to set your broken leg before you escape the house fire. Thanos is a problem, but we need to secure the base." Taking a shaky step towards the security terminal, he sat down, and got to work. The thing wanted a password, seven characters, and at first he though maybe "Avenger" would be the solution, but the system didn't take kindly to that. Instead, he knew Fury used to go by Foxtrot, and it fit, so he tried that, and luckily, he got in. Watching the vast array of defensive options scroll by him, he was awestruck at the man's preparedness. Not wanting to become a murderer, he saw an option for sleep darts existed, and he opted to fire off one of them, striking Novikova in the neck. "Fuck fuck fuck" he said, under his breath, firing off another, and hitting Strange. Trying one more time, he missed, and threw his head into his hands. His luck couldn't change, it seemed, and he just fucked up, big time.

Rubbing her metallic arm, Elizabeth smiled at Guin's attempt to make her feel more comfortable. That was nice of her, and Elizabeth really did appreciate it. She gave a small laugh when Guin told her she could drink and said, "I might take you up on that... Thanks Guin." Stepping away from the bride, she decided that talking to somebody closer to her own did sound like it would be nice, and started walking towards Peter Parker and his marry band of kids. She wondered why he was here, if he were perhaps a fellow new mutant to the X-men, or just a personal friend of Guin's. Feeling that might be a bad thing to lead with, she instead opted to let him bring it up, if he wanted.

As she closed the distance between herself and the other highschoolers, she lost her voice for a moment. She knew people'd be looking at her arm, but it wasn't exactly the kind of thing she could hide. Deciding to just hope they wouldn't make fun of her for it, she waited for a natural point to break into the conversation, and said, "Pretty awesome party huh? Where're y'all from?" Her southern dialect started to come out again, as it tended to when she was nervous, but she powered through, "Name's Elizabeth, by the way." Tacking that on, she shut up for the moment, hoping that they'd receive her kindly.
