As they gathered around, ready to start the game, Elizabeth found herself smiling. This would be exciting, she thought. She'd been starting to get bored with a "normal" life of DnD and gardening, so this was just what she needed, a game tailored to adventure. Death, in her mind, wasn't particularly a possibility given the regular invincibility of youth and the powers she had. That was, up until the first card was pulled. She found screaming, overtaken by fear. Clutching herself, she closed her eyes, paralyzed at the swarm of insects before her. She hated bugs so fucking much, and these were worse than anything she'd seen before.

Without really thinking, she knew she was given a place to run, and that was exactly what she was going to do. She couldn't be around these, their eyes, they skin it all squicked her out too much. So her feet moved her towards the Danger Room, moving faster than she knew she was able, her heart almost pounding out of her chest. She felt sick, and her skin was clammy, as she threw herself into the room, covering her head and trying to keep herself from crying. This was some fresh hell straight out of a nightmare, and it threw her off balance in a really terrible way. As she breathed, she tried to calm herself down, but kept finding her hands shaking uncontrollably.

As the last of the monsters were vanquished, Arthur relaxed, and put his knife away. Smiling at Andy, he said, "Um, thanks." he didn't know how he felt about being complemented for his skills with a weapon that he didn't want to have to wield. He was happy that he could protect himself and others, but the knowledge that his existence hinged on that fact soured it. He felt complicated right now, a feeling that had started when he got here, and just hadn't found a way to stop itself. He had a desperate want for some kind of normalcy, but everyday that just seemed to get further and further away.

Climbing aboard the ship, Arthur was looking forward to another bit of relaxation, this all had really stressed him out, and he just wanted things to be calm for all of five minutes. He was concerned about Dem, but honestly, being around him might put him in a bit of a panic attack. It reminded him of when he had knocked Andy out of the tree and broke her arm, and he didn't want to think about that right now. Instead, he hung out around the top deck, waiting for them to set off again. Hopefully the wind in his hair and the gentle sway of travel would keep him calm enough.

As the bell Rang, Elizabeth cracked her gingers and said, "Dinner denotes dastardly diatribes directed down, Thanes that think they they themselves," She paused for a moment, thinking for a way to continue her alliterative spree as she walked towards the dining hall, "Say something significant, shall see some sad surprise." Linguistics were very much her strong suit, and she mostly liked to come up with ways to say things in such a way to pass the time. If there was one constant thing in her life, it was that, though the words may change, language always existed in one form or another.

One of the advantages of being blind was that those who didn't know her, and were particularly sappy, would often let her go first in crowded spaces, thinking she couldn't defend herself as well as the others. Squeezing her way into an elevator, she leaned against the wall, and waited for it to bring her up to the hall. She wasn't particularly hungry, she was more focused on just getting this news to the thanes. She proffered her own cooking to the dining hall's food, something about making something and getting to taste that effort just meant a lot to her.

Oliver Sullivan

Location: The Hangar -> The Quinjet
Skills: Hacking

Boarding the Quinjet, Oliver took a seat and exhaled. He absolutely hated that this was the way he was spending the days leading up to his mom's death, but he felt like he just couldn't do anything about that. It was the worst dilemma in so many ways, he had three mutually exclusive options, all of which had their own benefits and massive drawbacks. He could stick with the agents on the Quinjet, and double cross when it came time, he could break off now and try to help Baptiste, or he could forgo all of this and be with his mother. One would ruin the trust these people had with him, one would put him in an immediately dangerous position, and one would mean he'd be useless all together.

Oliver wanted desperately to make the selfish choice, to save himself the endless grief that not getting closure on this part of his life would grant him, but he couldn't. He just... couldn't. He wasn't much for the fight itself, but there was one thing he knew and that was that he was raised to believe that if you were in the position to stop something bad from happening you had to give it your all to do so. He joined S.H.I.E.L.D so he could make a positive difference in the world, and at this point it felt like he had only done the exact opposite. He didn't know if he could say he blamed himself exactly for Cardiff, but he felt endlessly entangled with the destruction. His existence and that event were inseparably linked, and the only thing he could do to make up for it in anyway was to do some good.

Cracking open his laptop, he decided he needed more information. Luckily for him, he was made for information gathering and knew exactly where to find what he needed to know. He realized that what he was about to do was incredibly risky, but he refused to be a coward. Typing away, he hummed to himself as he hacked his way into Hill's private server. S.H.I.E.L.D security was good, but he was something else, and he knew quite a lot about their infrastructure when it came to this sort of thing. As he made his way in, he found roughly what he was looking for, and cloned a copy to his laptop, before cleaning up after himself and deleting any trace of his snooping. He wouldn't want to worry Hill with wondering why he was digging through her personal files, after all.

Elizabeth was about to protest, that not all of Texas was full of racists and bigots, and that acting like it was just wasn't helpful. She was from there, of course, and while it had problems, parts of it at least kinda okay, namely Austin. That was before Bethany teleported in out of nowhere, and she had other things on her mind. "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!" She exclaimed, startled, as she took a few steps back. She still wasn't used to that kind of thing, but it was at least getting better. As she started to explain, things she turned her head. "Loki? Like... Thor's Godly evil brother?" She asked. Working in the realm of the Gods and Heroes was still new to her, and felt very unreal.

She'd seen Jumanji before, as a little kid, though she preferred Zathura, something about space was just cooler than jungle adventures. One question rang through her head though, "I'm not totally clear, why would we play Loki's Obvious Death Trap Game 2k21?" She asked, raising her eyebrows a bit, "Not that I don't want to, it sounds fun and all, but it seems massively dangerous." A very dumb part of her was excited to play with the magic board game that would her life in danger, but the part of her brain that has some modicum of self control told her that is was a very bad idea.

Watching a Venti attack Demi, a sort of anger overtook Arthur. He wasn't too close to Demi, but he was done with the idea that he'd lose another person today. His knife floating up in the air, the Stygian blade embedded itself in the monster, rendning it from existence. A kind of fire blazed in his eyes, and the knife continued to stab away at the next one, missing twice, while the monster lunhed for him in turn. Side stepping, he glared at it, before giving a look back to Demi, making sure that he wasn't hurt too badly, flahsing a smile he way and exhaling in relief.

Retracting the knife back to him, he looked at Andy, saying, "God, how many more of these things can there be?" He hoped they'd be cleared out soon, he didn't want to keep fighting anymore. Killing just wasn't in him, even if it seemed like he could do it well enough. Life was just too much right now, and the endless sea of murder he found himself in was getting painful, and annoying, The more he was on this mission, the more he knew that this was not the life that he really wanted to have. It was exhausting, both emotionally and physically, and not something that sparked joy in his life.

Elizabeth stay where she was seated, not seeing too much of a reason to start roaming around at the moment. She had some thinking to do. If she was correct and Ragnarok was heading towards them, then she either had to get her affairs in order, or prevent it. She didn't know how effective fighting against the tide of fate would be, but if the world was to end, it wasn't like not fighting against it would be oblivion any more or less empty. It felt like the "hero" thing to do, so she knew she would probably do it. People didn't write stories about those who nobly stayed at home and waited for fate to run its course.

She just hoped the Thanes would actually take her seriously. Given her age, she hoped that that would get them to listen, even if she was a little... absurd at times. She didn't make a habit off lying per say, and she hoped they knew she wouldn't mess around when it came to the end of the world. upon thinking that, she visibly winced. In all honesty, she might, which wouldn't make convincing them easy by any means. If she kept it up for long enough, she was sure they'd believe her eventually, or at least, that was what she hoped. She wasn't the best at mobilizing people on her own, she she really needed their backing here.

Oliver consciously had to keep himself from glaring at Hill. Like, yes, him hating his father should dissuade a lot of fear that they had. Thanos burned his city, did they think Oli was just gonna be okay with that? If one thing was made clear by this comment, it's that Hill was not being rational by any means. He couldn't be taking marching orders from her when she was like this; listening to angry people who wanted to control others was how a country descended into fascism, and he wasn't about to help with that. As he thought of this, Baptiste peaced out, crashing through a window, and his eyes widened. That was a bold move to say the least, but he wouldn't not be joining her immediately.

Even with his powers, he wasn't a fighter, and open defiance would not end well for him. He'd stay with the team for now, but he'd do what he could to gain more information on why Hill was acting like this, and what he exact plans were. He was a computer scientist and a mathematician first, a speedster second, and he had to remember that if he wanted to be effective. No, instead, as Cass announced that they could opt out if they wanted, Oliver smiled and said, "Count me in, I gotta show I'm not a traitor to an evil space emperor, right?" There was a part of him that had a kind of burning anger about the fact that Hill even thought that was possible, so he didn't mind leaking that, it was a reasonable thing to have.

Elizabeth paused for a moment at Mary's question. The winter would kill her plants for sure, so all she could think to say is, "Sometimes, the beauty in something is that it has an ending." She was proud of herself for that one. She knew she couldn't strictly compete with Mary, but hey, giving up like that never did anyone any good. She did suspect that Mary might be a bit lost if not for her powers though, but she didn't know how good she actually was.

Meanwhile, while she'd love nothing more than crush her in a anime style garden competition, ala food wars, there were sundaes on the line, and she couldn't not get one. Turning to face Guin, she smiled at the new suit, and wiped some of the sweat from her forehead, "It's not that hot out, come down to Texas sometime, you'll see a real scorcher. But..." She trailed off, "Ice cream does sound really good. Yes please!" Glancing over at Mary, she smiled, and said, "We'd have to see who's the better gardener, sans powers, I'm sure I could at least give you a run for your money." She teased, always one for competition.

As Andy blasted lighting off into the air, Arthur watched in a kind of wonder. It really was something cool to see, sure, he could raise the dead, but that was pure power. He watched as it fell down to the ground, and it took him a few moments for him to properly react. Fumbling around for the controls, he pointed the sucker towards the monster, only for it to jam. Cursing under his breath, he shook he head, and pulled it back for a moment, before sucking the creature up without problem, He found it easier and easier to lose focus recently, but that really wasn't something that should be happening right now.

Letting the knife fly through the air once more, it embedded itself in another one of the monsters, but it didn't seem to kill it properly. Pausing for a moment, he sighed. He didn't know if he wanted to get better with weapons or not, but it was feeling like more and more of a thing he'd need to do. These creatures didn't seem to be a major threat, but he knew someday he'd be standing down a monster that would be. At the same time, 'getting better at killing things' just quite frankly seemed like the type of thing that hew shouldn't have to do as a kid.
