Oliver Sullivan

Jubilee Park and Garden
Skills: Super Speed, hand to hand

Oli nodded at the order form his superior; of course he was being stuck with dealing with the speedster. It only made sense, really. That being said, he fully expected for Luminous to be a more capable speedster than him, if only because she far outclassed him in experience. But was certain of one other thing, and that was that this person was a threat to Niah, somebody that she was scared of, and that meant he had no intention to hold back. Right from the getgo, he charged at the woman, ready to subdue her as quickly as possible.

As fast as he could, he tried to connect his fist to her skull, and was frustrated to see him just barely miss as she stepped aside. She was fast, he was right about that, but he had a backup plan. As his fist soared past her hard, he brought it down to go for his laser sword, only to find himself kicked and flying back. Groaning as he forced himself to his two feet, he exhaled, and said, "You know, and this is going to sound weird, this isn't the first time I've met you, the last time, a demon bear was trying to set us up as partners, can you believe that?" He sputtered outy, stalling to think of what his next move would be.

Oli took the night of sleep with a kind of glee that he hadn't experienced in awhile. For what might be the first tiem in months, he slept like a baby. It might have been the exhaustion, or it might have been the fact that, for all the horrors of this reality, he was at least moderately certain that this universe's Thanos wasn't aware of his existence, and so he, for once, didn't toss and turn over the horrors that could come to pass if his father came lookingg for him, he felt a kind of safety that he'd missed since recieving his powers.

Oli nodded at Niah, confirming his preperation. London was close, for sure, and given the small bits he knew of his counterpart, theyy'd be in danger. He didn't know if he had speed, but if he did, Oli might be their best hard counter for him. There was the solid chance that this Oli was more experienced than he was, and that deeply worried him. An Oliver than spent the last... five? Ten years? with powers and using them would be a massive danger. Evil speedsters could do damage, and he didn't wanna know what he was capable of. He nodded at Matt, and answered, "Don't trust mine either, in the event we get split up and need to check who's who, let's establish a code word, I'm in favor of "skrull"." The idea of a codeword seemed actually useful in the case of doppleganger's who couldn't copy memories, and skrull was a funny one.

Oli furrowed his brow, "I can't pretend to know their motivations, but they're two villains with, a far as I know, nothing to do with one another. If multiversal travel happens around bad people with superpowers, I'd generally assume they had something to do with it." That seemed rational to him, or at least the only path that they realistically pursue actively. He also nodded at Amelia, she had the right idea. This was what he was guessing, but once they were captured, the agents would have all their answers.

In any case, if the anomaly wasn't caused by them, it might have a root in their home, and if that was the case, the only way they could further pursue anything would be to return. He didn't like the idea of a group of kids getting sent here, or anywhere, but they had to deal with the situation as it existed. Using the people who knew were involved and the things he knew about them, he could only assume the two villains did it. "The only other possibility I can imagine is somebody in this universe discovered multiversal travel, and Doom and Luminous just happened to be caught up in it.", He posited, before sitting and seeing what the others thought of that.

Oliver was nearly joyful at the recent developments. Sure, two sociopaths that were an active threat to existence on a multiversal scale were at large, but they had food and a chance to rest, two things Oli had desperately been craving. No more broken bones, or gunfire, or being handcuffed to tables, he could just be fine and safe for a little bit. He leaned back against Niah, and smiling. This was soemthing that, once this mission was over, he could just have, and that really wasn't something he'd processed yet. He would get a very long break and that was an exciting prospect.

Oliver shrugged at the prospect of getting home, "I mean... Assuming we live-capture Doom and Luminous, home shouldn't be an issue. They got us here, they can get us home. And it's clearly possible, so I'm sure that, given enough time, we could crack it ourselves." Oliver was a confident bastard, but he also was damn smart. Besides he had a Ph.D in Theoretical... well, he supposed now applied physics. He wasn't sure if that was technically how it worked, but his reasoning at the very least was that, between all of them, they'd be smart enough to figure something out.

Oli smiled at Niah, he too, didn't need her around, or at least, not in the codependence sense, but he absolutely wanted her to be with him as much as possible. Between the two of them, she could probably handle herself better, but he was at the very least endowed with the ability to escape most any situation, so he rarely felt fear of not being able to make it back to her in their fight against injustice. They had, he considered, a kind of inverse Bonnie and Clyde relationship, and hopefully that meant that they'd be staying alive and well together far into their twilight years.

Oli shot a grin back at Amelia. He figured she might not get the joke, the appearance of that galactic tyrant was probably not a well known thing, even among the Secret Warriors, and he was less than public about the fact that he was technically Thane (Save for the occasional threat.) He waved a hand to her, and said, "I'll explain another time, promise." Once they'd arrived at Banner's, Oli dived into food without much of a thought. He'd run so much today, and it was a minor miracle that he hadn't passed out up until this point. He really had to eat more, or run less, and one of those two really wasn't an option.

Arthur closed his eyes, nervous, and went and took cover, hoping the direct engagement of his allies would keep him personally safe as he formulated what his next moves would be. Getting them free was the obvious move, he just wasn't sure how. He looked at the chains, and reached a hand towards them experimentally. He could just try to lift the chains up and untangle them, and that honestly seemed like the only path forward. So, without further ado, he closed his fist, and tried to lift the chains to free the kids.

But nothing happened. He tried to reach out and use his powers, but something was blocking him. Maybe it was the fact that he wanted to separate his powers into the useable and unusable. Maybe it was the stress of needing to perform and save people, he didn't know, but he couldn't life the chains. He pushed again, and still nothing happened. This started to escalate to an internal panic and worry at the idea of him not being able to do anything, but he pushed that fear down, and used it to try to make his powers work. That seemed to make it work, setting 12 kids free of their chains.

Oliver jumped to his feet upon getting out of Cerebro. He coughed out loud, and looked down at his normal skin, and clear mind. He seemed to dance on the edge of madness a lot these days, and the clarity itself was kind of jarring. "I am... me." He said, uncertainly, placing a hand on the side of his head. "I seem to have a habit of making people doubt who I am, at least now I know how it feels." He said dryly, looking over Professor X. "Thanks, I'm fine, I promise. Sorry for the hassle." With that, Oli quickly pulled Amelia into a hug, and said, "I'm really" glad to have you back. Don't scare me like that, okay?"

And shortly after that, Oli was right by Niah's side once more, "Question, and I promise this one is very important." He said, in a not at all serious voice, "If my skin were purple and cracked, you'd still love me, right?" He had a wry smile, and wasn't totally sure if she'd get the joke, but pretending that it was merely vanity and a care for Niah's attraction to him that kept him from becoming a galactic space tyrant and slaughtering countless. Obviously, it was not, but this sort of engagement helped remind him that he was not that, he refused to be afraid anymore of such things.

Arthur watched their environment closely, and held his breath at the smell. This was not the fun part of adventuring, it seemed, given the fact that it was everything he had to not throw up in his mouth. He was scared to move, but given the plan, he nodded and said ,"Yeah, I think I can manage that, better than trying to stab these things myself." Plus, his powers were probably ideal for getting those people free, if only because he should be able to just move the chains seamlessly.

Arthur was poised to get out of the cab, but didn't wanna move without the direct go-ahead. " I can go whenever we're all ready, just give me the signal and I'll move." He didn't wanna act on his own, on the off chance that he made a mistake, and the other two ended up being eaten. Getting out of the cab would for sure be the point that they were most likely to be seen at, and he didn't wanna be in charge of determining when it was or wasn't safe to get that in motion.

Arthur nodded at the advice. He could deal with somebody being stronger than him, in fact, if he was smarter than them, he preferred it. If they were bigger than him, then he was probably faster, and could keep distance and attack with his knife at range. This felt safe, compared to the total warfare at the battle of Camp Jupiter. He felt a kind of adrenaline; a part of him knew how to fight, knew how to slay monsters and be a hero, it was literally in him. He didn't like that part much, but it was one that he was willing to indulge if it meant keeping people safe.

He ran over the tools he had in his head for the upcoming encounter. He had his knife, something he could use to attack at range, of course, but if he could control metal, there was a good chance that the surrounding area itself would be something he could use to fight. He was pretty settled on not using his necromantic powers, and he couldn't think of anything but a life or death situation that would lead to him employing them here. It felt like a principal that he was adhering to, one that wouldn't be easily shaken, Arthur Stanford wanted to never raise the dead again.

Oliver filched visibly as the changes overtook him, and he dropped the sword quickly to the ground. This was wrong, and he knew it was, but he had to do what he did in the moment. He knew he had to but... maybe that was the thing that was supposed to be different between him and his father. Oliver wasn't the person who did what had to be done, no matter what the cost might be. He'd been at a crossroads for awhile now, he could be a person that killed and enacted his vision of what a moral and just universe would be, or he could set rules for himself, stick to them, and try to do good within those.

It was now the saw where the former option would lead him, to ruining the world, and becoming the thing that made him. He wouldn't let that come to pass, and instead, he looked down at his father's body, and exhaled. He felt true regret, he killed something, and without much thought to it. This would not be who he was, it wasn't who he was raised to be, and maybe most important of all, it wasn't who Niah loved. He was Olive Sullivan, Agent of S.H.I.E.l.D, and on top of all of that, he was a hero that would make the world better, not more rotten.
