Personality:Declan, by nature, enjoys talking. He’s a social person. Small talk, arguments, discussion, or just shooting the shit, Declan loves it all. He’s genuinely confounded by the fact that not everyone enjoys debate and discussion. He enjoys it so much that he quite often finds himself playing Devil’s Advocate.

History

What Brings You to Dunder Mifflin: “It started out as ‘this place will give me money, even with my useless degree.’ I must admit, however, that this damn place has grown on me. I like it here. It’s a fun place to work. With my four years here on my resume, I could probably get a higher paying job, but I don’t really want one. I can’t imagine life without coming here every morning, sitting my ass in this chair, and seeing just how little work I can get away with.”

Life Up To This Point:Declan was born in Clinton, Iowa. A town with 26,000 people and absolutely nothing of interest within its limits. Born to third-generation factory workers, Declan was, naturally, expected to go into the manufacturing industry. It only took one “Take your Child to Work Day” for Declan to realize that cutting aluminum in sweltering heat was not the career path he wanted to pursue. When he told this to his parents, they informed him that they would not be able to pay for any higher education of his. As a result, he threw himself into school, despite hating every moment of it.

His work payed off, and he earned a four year scholarship to the University of California at Berkeley. Woefully uninformed as to how the world works, Declan made the mistake of studying something that interested him. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy after four years. He was contemplating going for his masters, and then his doctorate, but that sweet, sweet, scholarship money ran out. He wandered about the California area for a bit, couch-surfing and taking odd-jobs.

One day, he received word from a cousin in Pennsylvania. Said cousin owned a temporary staffing firm and was offering a job as an office temp to Declan. Declan took the job, and showed a decent aptitude for office work. He was a temp in the Pennsylvania area for about six months. Unfortunately, the company folded, and Declan was again without work. However, through a stroke of luck, the New Castle Branch was looking for a receptionist right at that time. Declan applied and got the job. He’s been working there for the past four years.

Athalia Academy Season Four: Back on Track (Freaking Finally, amirite?)

Fic Inside

The man sighed. He stood on the edge of a large, misshapen patch of dirt. No grass would grow there, no matter how hard he tried. Large pieces of rubble jutted out from the ground all around him. A part of a wall here. Large pieces of linoleum floors. A bit of a ballroom chandelier. It was all that remained.

The man wasn’t interested in the ruins. No, he was here for the dirt. He stared ahead, looking at the massive granite monolith in the center of the patch of dirt. Names were carved into it. Some names, he’d known before he raised the monolith. Others were completely foreign to his mind. Of course, that hadn’t lasted long. He’d memorized all the names by now. Gods only knew how much time he’d spent studying the stone.

He stood like that a little while longer, before sitting down. He wore a roughspun cloak, with the hood pulled over his head. No one he knew would recognize him at a distance. Not that anyone he knew was anywhere near here. He wore a satchel. He reached into it and withdrew a bottle of wine. He popped the cork out with ease. He took a swig and grimaced. He had no idea how the Skylark stood the stuff. He stood, after a moment. He walked over to the monolith and stood before it. It towered over him, probably by a good foot. It’s height was the one part of the design he’d disliked. It was difficult to read the names at the top.

He tightened his grip on the bottle and drew his arm back. With the power of one who’d swung a sword most of his life, he smashed the bottle against the monolith. He paused for a second. Then, he bent over and picked up the shattered pieces of glass. They went back into his satchel.

That had been a ritual of his for awhile. He’d not known what many of them had liked, but he tried to fill in the gaps from memory. He’d known a few of them, though. The Skylark’s love of wine was quite well known, that one had been easy. The Shapeshifter had a taste for home cooked food. The man had tried his best, but a few misshapen pancakes were all he could offer. The Shapeshifter’s wife, a human, had a taste for fruit tart. It was a simple matter to pick one up from one of the bakeries that had opened up in the wake of the war. The Doppleganger, oh God, the Doppleganger. She’d loved tiramisu. It hadn’t been an easy task to procure some, but he’d managed. He stepped back, with a delicate touch of the stone. He’d be back, he knew. He was terrified of forgetting them.

He’d never really felt like one of them. They’d all formed a sort of camaraderie long before he came around. Yet, they’d tried there hardest to make him feel like one of the gang. He loved them for it. Despite being friends, or at least acquaintances, with many of them, it had always been them to him. It felt, disrespectful, almost, to use us, especially now. He’d chuckled a bit at the expression he’d coined. The last of them.

He sighed again. Yes, he’d be back again. Back to talking with ghosts that weren’t there. Coddling the memories of happier days. It hurt him to come here, but he knew it’d hurt even more if he forgot. The school, and it’s students, had already all but passed from the memories of the general populace. Even with the monolith that he’d sold his sword and gun to pay for, he felt a need, a duty, to remember. As long as he came here, as long as he remembered, they’d never be forgotten. They’d be remembered, at least until he joined them under the dirt.

Or his name wasn’t Edric Karst.

||background|| Max grew up in the rural south of the United States, though both her parents were born in South Korea. She grew up an American, knowing little of her own culture. After getting introduced to the music at a young age, Max found that she loved singing and the smiles she could get from people when she sang. She had a loud and charismatic personality.

She found that people grew to love her quickly and would often become very protective of her. She did, however, have her fair share of enemies. Not everyone could see past the small framed girl's choice in clothing. She often was called names growing up and being an only child, it was hard to deal with. Even her friends didn't really understand.

Max often hid her true interests, trying to fit in but she found that dresses, skirts, and long hair weren't her thing. People often assumed that she was lesbian, as she certainly dressed the part. But Max wanted to prove to everyone that though she preferred pants and short hair, she was never less the girl than her peers.

It wasn't until Max turned 20 that she really took to trying to be herself and love that side of herself. She decided that she'd spent far too long hiding and not nearly enough time loving herself. Her parents were nearly as receptive as she'd thought, thinking she was lying to them about her sexuality. She was soon kicked out because of the misunderstanding, causing many many more to crop up.

Knowing that America might not be very receptive of her, she moved to South Korea and hunted down an agency that was willing to take her on. From there, she became a part of M*NE (Pronounced 'Mine'), a singing and dancing group comprised of three girls.

After two years of being with the group, Max was asked to enter a show on the premise that she could promote the group internationally.

Max is anything but normal. She plays like a guy and flirts like a girl. She punches like a guy and dances daintily like a girl. She makes cracks at every turn and is never afraid to be herself. Every now and then you'll find she gets 'that look' in her eyes. A proud and fierce look. And then it would immediately turn into a ear to ear smile.

Max has her own particular style. She loves the color pink and other considerably 'feminine' colors but hates the frills and cold air that come with dresses. She loves capris, skinny jeans, jean jackets, etc. She finds that it's easy to be both masculine and feminine and loves to play with that balance.

When presented with new people, Max is never last to introduce herself, often making large gestures that make people feel awkward but soon soften their hearts to her. She never feels awkward and can always find something to laugh about.

Max's one thorn is her parents. She hates talk of parents and her sexuality. She feels that her sexuality shouldn't define her appearance and likewise. She also prefers simply not to discuss such a hard conversation as her parents. She often avoids drama, preferring to let others have their way rather than push for her own desires. She'd rather others be happy than jump into drama that would only cause more harm.

Max more than anything just likes to see other happy. She has always been very good at turning off her desires for the sake of others but will this show prove otherwise?

She generally treats everyone the same and doesn't feel the same sexual attraction that most people seem to experience. She finds others attractive but has never felt the need to 'attack' anyone in that manner.

If anything Max would just want someone to share in her joy.
