Even with advantage my initiative is still a 9.
With the last of the sentries dead Kyra went to retrieve her arrow, if it was still good, as well as moving the bodies somewhere out of sight. She suspects they have maybe an hour or so before the bodies start to give off a stretch, and hopefully they'll be out of this cave before that happens. Remembering Parum's warning, Kyra focused on looking for enemies and keeping an eye out for any traps or ambushes. The group moved forward and Kyra kept her eyes trained on the shadows. It was then she noticed the fungi. Mushrooms weren't unusual to her, but ones as tall as a man? Surely magic. Kyra bemoaned her lack of nature knowledge; her training was in spells and medicine. For a Priestess of Chauntae, she was woefully lacking in herbalism. Still maybe she could remember something about these man-sized mushrooms from her books. Whether or not they were dangerous or unusual.

But as she was trying to remember her keen elven senses picked up on the sound of wings. Perhaps it was an imp or some other flying sentry; it wouldn't surprise Kyra if these cultist consorted with demons as well as dragons. Either way she sunk into the shadows and drew an arrow, getting ready to attack first.

Dulga Tarata

As Dulga was about to leave the dorms she saw someone fall down the stairs. She rushed over to help only to realize it was Yukari; she was fine. No. She wasn't fine; Yukari could have walked down the stairs just fine even though she was blind. It was because of her injuries that she stumbled. Both physical and mental ones. Dulga approached the elastic girl and simply picked her up, gave her the crutches, and left. There wasn't anything Dulga could say to console her; Yukari was a victim of Kensai's thoughtless brutality, just like Dulga was. She needed to find her own strength to stand even when it hurts. That's the only thing they could do. Without another thought Dulga went to the training halls to practice.

For once Dulga wasn't here to shoot her guns, all which were locked away in her dorm. She felt rather exposed without her gun or cloak. She had been so reliant on both that she felt as defenseless as a newborn baby. But that's why she was here; to step outside of her comfort zone. It wasn't going to be easy but it also wasn't suppose to be. Relying on friends, fighting without guns, not having her cloak on, all these things were new and scary to Dulga. She had to laugh at herself though: these were things that literally every hero does. She wasn't sure why she was trying to hard to distance herself from being called a hero when she knows it's the only way she could defeat Kensai. "Pride. Pride is why." She thought to herself. Kensai was her problem. Sure a few students got hurt, but chances are they just wanted to move on with their lives. Continue their career and work to become stronger. Only Dulga was so hellbent on revenge that she was going out of her way to prepare solely to face him. What she'd do if she won or loss, Dulga doesn't know. She doesn't want to know.

Dulga was surprised at how many people where here. Usually it was just herself and maybe three or four others. But there were at least six that Dulga knew. Jett, Mina, Acion, Mamoru, Tomoe, Kaida, and Hitomi. The last three Dulga has never seen here before, at least not when Dulga was training. A pleasant surprise. She also noticed Kaida was wearing a cloak too. "Cute." A quick scan of the area made it fairly clear what was going on. Dulga spotted Mina walking away from Jett and heading to the changing rooms so they must have fought. Mina does often go change right after sparring. Tomoe seemed to be groveling to Acion so Dulga assumed Tomoe had done something to bother him, and as usual Acion doesn't think much of it. Kaida was watching Jett and Mina sparring so she's probably jealous. Mamoru just went into the training room so she was training. Cracking her neck and knuckles Dulga stepped forward.

First she walked up behind Kaida quietly and silently. She didn't do anything Dulga was just being quiet to surprise Kaida as she gently pats the girl's head, stroking the spot between the ears. She smiled at Kaida even though as usual Dulga's mask would have covered up her face. Next was her target. Jett or Acion. Frankly Dulga had no problem thrashing either one of them, however she started walking towards the winged boy instead. They never really had a conclusive fight during their last group battle. Dulga was a bit nervous to fight a flier without her guns, but she had a trick or two she thinks might help make up for that difference. Plus whatever Tomoe was doing looked degrading and silly. Dulga's stoic presence ought to help ease the silliness down a notch. When she walked up to the group she nodded towards Tomoe and Hitomi silently. Then like a brick in the face Dulga was blunt and to the point as she faced Acion and crossed all of her arms across her chest.

"Nakamiji. Fight me."

The group went with Parum's plan to drop into the front entrance and striking hard and fast. Admittedly, it seemed like a good idea up until they actually had to jump. Then it suddenly seemed very stupid. But it was too late to back out of it now. Though it did make Kyra have second thoughts about wearing her usual dress instead of trousers. She girdled her clothing as best as she could as she took out her longbow and dagger, getting ready for the signal. Once everyone was ready they jumped. Kyra had to suppress the urge to shout when they did and fortunately Parum's spell went off without a hitch. Now they needed to act fast.

The guards saw the group but were too shocked to ready themselves. While Kyra hoped to catch them unaware, their surprise would give Kyra more than enough time to line up a shot and release her arrow. Her short time training with her father paid off well here; instead of aiming for the guard's head as she normally wound with prey, she aimed for the center of his body instead. This made sure the arrow would more likely hit, and it would as the arrow sunk deep into his chest. Kyra moved a few feet inside of the cave itself, just enough so that the shadow of the cave would hide herself from anyone looking from outside of the cave. "Focus on one at a time." She says clearly but quietly.

Aight, well my initiative is 14.
Would we get a surprise round against the enemy at least?

Dulga Tarata

After getting back onto her bike, Dulga drove off to a night market. She knew a place where she could sell the pelts and meat for some extra coin. She came up to a young woman with an eyepatch who looked at Dulga and smirked. “Rough night?” Dulga just grunted and started to load the hides and meat onto the counter. The woman simply looked over the hides and meat, putting the bones aside into a waste bin, and calculated the total. The money was… Not much, but it would help supply her income a little. She saved a bit of meat for herself as Dulga used most of her money to buy a hotel room for herself tonight, to rest up for the journey back to school. She would have stayed but… It wasn’t safe at home anymore.

Early the next day, before the sun would rise, Dulga would drive all the way back to Komei. She made sure to buy extra gas, food, and a portable charger for her phone so she had a GPS. The drive back will give her time to think more about what she needed to do to improve herself. What actions to take, how to train herself, and what to do with the others. If there was one thing she learned from the wolves was that together they were more than a threat to her. Even if she was able to take out a few of them, they ultimately left Dulga alive when they could have easily taken her down. That sort of pitiful mercy that made her blood boil. But they had a point; teamwork would be needed to defeat more powerful enemies.

Dulga hated the idea of needing to rely on others. But she was open to ideas.

Since returning to Komei, Dulga didn’t really see anyone, not even the ones who just came back from the hospital. While she told herself she needed to work on teamwork, she also knew she had to improve her own strength too. For starters, she needed to learn how to rely less on her guns. This was the hardest part for her; using her mother’s firearms were all she knew and without them she felt naked like a baby. Even though she had super strength, Dulga knew no martial arts or fancy hand-to-hand techniques. Her fight with Mina made that abundantly clear; all she did was swing wildly at Mina and the worse she managed to do was get one slam on her. Dulga knew she couldn’t master anything fancy like judo or karate anytime soon, but maybe she could learn how to use her strength more cunningly. At the very least, in some way that might give her an edge if someone catches her by surprise.

As Dulga woke up she started her morning routine as usual; wake up, go use the bathroom, go back to her room to dress for the day. They needed to turn in homework tomorrow and Dulga hasn’t touched it since last friday, but she was slowly starting to care less about class assignments. Just training and preparations. She needed to head to the Support class and see about getting a replacement for her broken pistol. Something “Nonlethal” so she doesn’t have to keep being bothered about shooting people. But first she needed to hit up the training room. She grabbed a quick breakfast consisting of a protein bar and water before leaving the dorms. Before she had left Hokkido, she had brought three pairs of impact gloves from a military surplus store. While she had gloves before these gloves had added padding on the palm and fingers; they will be very important for what she was planning to do for today’s training.
Catarina was slightly disappointed all she managed to get was her bow and supplies, but she wasn't going to raise a fuss about armor. There was actually a tradition among the Knights of Thorn about collecting armor from defeated enemies. "Iron Men" they were called, though Catarina doubt any armor she savaged from other warriors would fit her. But it was the thought that counts. As everyone was gathering their gear Catarina went to her horse to load up the gear onto the saddlebags. She rode a large black mare, built for speed. Catarina had to be very mindful of her weight and supplies since while her horse was strong, too much weight will drain her stamina, which could spell disaster in the middle of a fight.

And then everything went to hell. The king vomited out blood and an assassin was on the loose! What seemed like a peaceful and well fortified city easily turned to chaos as magic began to surge. Catarina had heard of hysteria causing people to riot, but for chaos to spread so quickly, it couldn't be anything but magic! However Catarina didn't let the destruction sway her. She immediately mounted on her horse and chased after the assassin. "I don't know how he could kill the king with magic, but if he can do it, so can I!" Magic had just come into their world, how could it be that an assassin could master it so well to kill a king in his own court? A question Catarina would ask the assassin himself!

This man might've been fast but not faster than Catarina's horse, and certainly not faster than her arrows. She drew her shortbow and loosed an arrow aimed at the assassin's lower back; this way even if she should miss the arrow would either strike his legs or hit the ground, and not anyone else that might be in the crossfire. And Catarina was confident in her aim; she could snipe rabbits hidden in a brush, an armored assassin may as well just been target practice.
I’ll have post up later today!
Catarina wasn't too impressed by Winter's little cottage. She had to admit, she was expecting something more... Professional. It looked more like a storage shed than a proper place for a powerful Immortal, or even a workshop. But Catarina supposed that when you're as powerful as Winter Valentine, you can afford to be sloppy. After everyone else made their introduction Catarina spoke her name too. "I am Catarina La'Spada, a Knight of Thorns from the kingdom of Sieglinde. I hope to learn magic to protect my people and become a better warrior." She didn't really pay too much attention to the others, only picking up on small quirks and names. Goro was missing a hand, Liliana wanted to be a necromancer, Nkosi came from a forest, Alphonse came from Ashfield. Catarina was just really eager to get going.

Before they would set out, they would need more equipment. She couldn't disagree with that; Catarina only had her sword, her armored gauntlets, and a horse. She could use supplies and more equipment if it was available. The only reason she doesn't have her own suit of armor was because a full set of plate was both expensive and took a long time to make; unless this king happened to have some her size just collecting dust in the armory, she doubts they'll have much for her. But Catarina would take what she can get.

"Let's see, how about a shortbow and some arrows? Longbows aren't good on horseback after all. As for armor if you happen to have any platemail that fits me, I'll take that. Traveling supplies is a must too. Food, water, medicine, anything and everything we'll need in case of emergencies. Wouldn't want Lady Winter to suffer needlessly on the road after all."
