With the amount of drama I've seen in it, what's the difference?

Bio

Well now that I got the customary "post once" requirement out of the way....

HELLO

Welcome to my safe space. Well, about as safe as one space can be, I guess. If you are here looking for something, I am very sorry to disappoint you, but I made fresh cookies! Come sit a spell.

I guess I'll do some more in-depth stuff about myself. My name is Nick and I am 33 years old living in Illinois. I am a therapist and clinical responder (which is a fancy way of saying I go out on police calls to provide mental health assistance). Been doing therapy for a few years now and I absolutely love it!

I am a gay, cisgender man. I came out last year in January (smack dab in the middle of a pandemic. Timing was always my downfall). There is still much I am learning, but I am proud and happy to be who I really am and not have to hide it anymore!

I am an avid gamer, especially roleplaying games (cue surprised and shock noises). I also enjoy writing and reading, especially mysteries. I am not new to roleplay, I promise. I have been doing it for years now in different formats. I am experienced, even if it doesn't seem like it.

I use humor as a coping mechanism for sure, but I also like laughing and enjoying myself. Life can be pretty sad and upsetting for the most part and I don't want to add to it.

Whew! That got deep!

I will be poking my nose around in spaces and hoping to jump headfirst into this. Some interests I have in terms of roleplay settings include superheroes, DnD, science fiction/fantasy, mysteries, thrillers, horror stuffs, apocolypse, and espionage. And I am a fan of most things pop culture. If you have any suggestions or possible roleplays you think I would love, please let me know.

Otherwise, stick around! This is gonna get wild!

Colette entered the room preferring to remain unseen. She did not need attention drawn on her from those higher up than her rank. She also did not need to be bothered by anyone wondering who she was and if she belonged here. There had been many a time growing up she was misjudged for one reason or another. Whether it was because she was a woman, because she was pretty, because she fought back rather than take the hit. Either way, the Grey Wardens were different, but were also the same.

Many saw them as heroes. Necessary battle figures in stopping the Blight and slaying the Archdemon. Colette had heard stories. Hell, she had sung about their many adventures when needed. She did not believe them fully. While she joined their ranks, she had done so against her will at first. While she found a home among them, she knew better than most that home did not offer immediate safety.

She listened intently as their mission was laid out in front of them. This was not the type of mission to be done for glory, though she was sure some of their number were in it for just that. It sounded necessary. Vital. Something that should not be screwed up.

Some of the others spoke, either to ask questions or to introduce themselves. So they were just supposed to hold hands and cheer? She supposed it would be good to know names and match them to faces in the event bodies would need to be identified. Colette grimaced, knowing she would have to speak up at some point. Wasn't her whole purpose to be unseen unless she demanded such?

Once a silence fell she moved from her hidden post and joined the others. She pulled down her hood, allowing her long, blonde hair to fall. "Velvet Thorn. You don't need to know my actual name." Satisfied that that was all they needed from her she moved back towards a nearby pillar and leaned against it, awaiting actual commands and the start of their job.
@rush99999 I know. She's not listening to much of the conversation.
It seemed their party was in agreement with her suggestion. So they can be taught. She smiled inwardly as they began their journey to find the fisherwoman. After all, they should not be late. Fleur did not know what would happen but she did not want to find out.

Before they made much progress another dwarf appeared. The excitable dwarf man seemed to know where to go. Fleur was about to call into question why he was listening to their conversation, but what was the saying she heard humans utter before? Something about a horse's mouth and not looking to deeply into it? She didn't understand, but she was not about to turn down help. "Thank you Haibram. I appreciate your help with our task." She intentionally did not share her name. That was on a need-to-know basis.

Fleur followed with the others, but she had to admit she hadn't expected to walk so much on her first day. A magic school shouldn't require you to travel so much when you could be learning how to wield spells or study grimoires, surely. She chose the wrong pair of boots. While fashionable (and made her legs look nice), they were not super well-built for travel. They would do, but she made a mental note to change when she was back in her space.

Jenks, the goblin, had suggested a race. She was definitely, 100%, NOT going to be doing that. "If you intend to run off at least wait until you are sure where we are going." She wasn't going to stop them though. Let them have their fun.
@rush99999 omg he's adorable!
Fleur had been anxiously awaiting this moment. She had been hopeful that by joining this school she would learn and grow her magical talents. She had read her own fortune for the day and it showed promise, though nothing was ever certain. As she well knew, fate could be shifted. She felt a chill on the back of her neck, a side-effect of her pact with her patron. It was almost as if her patron was watching behind her, breathing down her spine. They were not malevolent, but chaos was not always evil.

As Teacher Ot spoke about their task, Fleur looked over her companions with some mild interest mixed with uncertainty. While she expected to work with others, the crew in front of her did not boast confidence.

With their task at hand, Teacher Ot turned to tread to wherever he was needed, but Fleur caught a glance, a shifting of his demeanor, a darkness of worry and concern.

This, too, did not boast confidence.

She was brought back when one of theirs spoke up, a goblin named Jenks. "Oh good, it speaks in the third person." Fleur felt herself grow more weary, but she would still complete the job. "I suggest we head towards those canals the teacher mentioned. Our fishwoman should be around there, I imagine."
Swiggity swooty, Alwin's coming for that elven booty.

Jokes aside, I'm really excited.

Chaos was the order of the day in the diner as many patrons grew more panicky and scared, one even went so far as to scream the man was dead. Verity kept the phone on but stopped listening. Just goes to show how law enforcement worked when they had automated messages as opposed to actual human responders.

Veriy made her way over but kept her distance to allow those near the man to work. "The police are on their way but given what's happening in the city I imagine it will be a minute." The others got to work grabbing ice to prepare for whatever. Verity didn't need to get blood or any other bodily fluids on her shoes so she kept some distance, eyeing the others.

She wasn't surprised that, despite the fear, they stuck around. Humans had an almost otherwordly curiosity to them, especially in moments of panic and fear. Verity was reminded of the body bag incident from before. How it seemed to move despite having a dead person in it. Could this be similar? The man was alive, or so she was told, but...was he?

Perry enjoyed her drink waiting with Max when Mira walked in. Mira did a good job programming all of this, it made sense to admire one's work. "We were just talking. I haven't found much in here."

Perry glanced at the two of them. While Clue was cooperative in a sense, they were still trying to win. She would share clues she had and found, of course, and vice versa. "Thus far I am enjoying what I am seeing. It's like you stepped through a Sherlock Holmes novel."

Perry put her drink down and got up. "I think I'll head over to the dark alley next door to see if I can find something. A dark alley is a prime location for clues and shady business." While not inviting them, they were of course allowed to tag alone.

Perry flapper'd her way over there to scope out the alley, hoping for some damning clue to solve the whole thing!

That is, until she heard Guin throughout the Danger Room. Perry pouted and stomped her feet, though she quickly got it together. It was important. Still, she REALLY wanted to play the game. But duty called. X-men had a job to do. Perry made her way to the others to leave together.
Yeah option 2 sounds best. I'm on here frequently while at work anyway
