I suppose so, but I have a feeling that even if I wasn't GM, I would still write long posts lol. Perhaps I should have put this RP in advance

@Elevation How's your post coming along? If your having trouble phrasing what happened, you don't have to put it in words. You can just state in the post what your character told the others what he saw with the king and the sightless and then mention the details he left out.
Soooo... I've been looking over my posts. They're so long lol. I seem to remember a time where I would just type snippets for a post. I guess I am simply incapable of doing that anymore lol.
No worries Wolf. Also, thank you for your service.
Please feed him money

Sorry Chicken. My character doesn't gamble nor can afford it.
@Elevation Let me know if you need me to give you any additional details in regards to the king. Don't need to say anything if you feel like your character wouldn't say it.

Chres placed the cleaning cloth he offered to the "hunter", onto the counter top, nearly breathing a sigh of relief when the lady rejected his offer. He did take note of the slight change in the air around her, however. Her breath misting as if it were cold. It most certainly was not on this mid-summer night. Intrigued, Chres took a sip from his flask, which was running near empty.

And here she just told me to not use my magic carelessly. He thought to himself amused. Granted, though, her reason for using the magic was probably more valid than his from an outside perspective. His reason however… far more personal. A protective reflex over a gift. A life long gone.

"If you want to throw your life away this badly, the war is happening just a few kilometers away..." She had obviously seen through his little stunt, not that he was trying to hide it from anyone. Chres stared ahead intently, not really looking at anything. His mind wandering to another time. Memories flashing through his head. His hands crusted with dried blood. Tears streaming down his face. The woman he loved dead at his feet.

Chres shook his head snapping himself out of it. He took one long sip from his flask, finishing its contents. How to properly respond to that? Because dying on the battlefield was far too honorable a death for him? Because he deserved a death far more humiliating? Because he was the scum of all Saencila and deserved to die as such? No. None of those answers would do.

Chres placed the empty flask onto the countertop as he listened to the man with the gourd nodding silently. It seemed as if the man understood the message. He wasn't concerned though which told Chres this man knew how to handle himself in a fight. Chres took his hand off of his pendent, allowing Sil to reappear on his shoulder. She was curled up in her ferret form. uncurling herself, she stretched as if awakening from a long nap before looking up at Chres.

Good morning Chres! You're looking especially sulky this morning. Sil said in his mind, as she climbed atop his head and began to look around.

It's still evening, Sil. Chres thought absentmindedly to her, still staring off into the distance.

Silly Chres. Days don't start with evening. She thought back giggling. Chres heard an excited gasp in his mind as Sil laid eyes on the man who gave her food. Apparently she recognized him. He had taken out a pair of dice and asked if anyone wanted to play. The moment he said the word 'game' she was off. Leaping off of Chres's head, into the air, transforming into her fairy form as she did so.

"Game?" Sil said as she flew up to the man and landed on the dice. "Can I play?" She asked earnestly. "I'm really good at games! There was this one time I played a game with some man, who looked just like you in a place that looked just like this! He gave me this hat he filled with a red puddle, but I knew better than to put the hat on my head with a puddle in it! So I took the hat, tossed the puddle off to the side, and then put the hat on my head. And ta-dah! I won the game!"

Sil clapped her hands together as she said 'ta-dah', and finished her ramble with a tilt of the head and a smile. Okay... so maybe she didn't recognize the man.

Chres finally tore his eyes away from the nothing he was staring blankly at. He glanced at the man who gave Sil food, pursed his lips and then nodded. So long as he didn't instigate her further, or grab her, it was find with Chres.

Be good, Sil. He thought to her, as he turned his attention to the lady Sil had bothered earlier. He took a moment to truly take her in for the first time. White hair. Strict demeanor. A courier with magical abilities, likely cold related. Seemed like wasted potential to have a magic user as a simple courier. Something felt off about that to Chres. This women was dangerous. The look she gave him earlier spoke volumes. But that white hair… Something about it tickled the back of his mind.

”My mother was from the Nation of Touch. My father, from the Nation of Sight. Fighting in a war between the two of them? That’s something I can’t participate in.” Chres said to her at long last. It was true too, but it was not the whole truth. Chres left it at that as he tried to put on a smile, which quickly faltered as his mind went back to darker memories.

Chres quickly changed the topic. ”Speaking of rumors, however, I am curious on how The Cult managed to convince King Y’lleant to let them into the nation. So tell us, Mr. Royal Guard. Why did the King allow these men into the town?”

Chres turned to the Innkeeper as he awaited a response. Raising his empty flask and placing a coin on the counter, he asked, “Would you please refill this with some water with a touch of lemon?”

“Water?” The innkeeper asked surprised.

“Yes sir. It seems I’m all out.”
No worries people. You all do what you need to do. RPing can be saved for later.

Lol 13Org. That post was like an entire recap.

@Elevation @RangingWolf got anything to add before I conjure up a response?

@SonofJet Trying to think of a way to pull you in. Any ideas?

By the way everyone. This weekend my wife is taking me out somewhere to celebrate an early birthday. I may not be on as much. At this point I don't think we need a Co-GM just yet. What are your thoughts on the matter?

No worries. Take your time.

Chres's demeanor changed the instant the man with the gourd grabbed Sil and began pouring wine on her face. It was a pointless action. No matter how hard the man tried, Sil simply was unable to eat and drink. It was just something about the way light constructs worked. Perhaps simply because light constructs were merely captured images given life. Chres honestly didn't know, but what he did know was that Sil was Chres's Familiar. Their year long companionship had made Sil feel almost as much a part of him as his own hands and feet.

The protective side in Chres instantly kicked into gear the moment this man grabbed Sil, despite it being gently. Chres's immediate reaction was to thrust his right arm toward the man and Shape a dagger into his hand. As he shaped, Chres sensed some of the body heat, which he had stored in his shirt earlier that day, leave his clothing immediately. He felt the stored body heat travel from his shirt, through his extended arm and to the palm of his hand. The heat then formed into the dagger he shaped. It's tip stopped an inch away from the man's gut. Chres could feel the heat, from the heat constructed dagger, slowly dissipating into the air as he maintained its shape.

Normally Chres would avoid maintaining a heat constructs shape. That was a waste of the limited fuel for his magic. But the point of this action was to send a message: Don't touch my Familiar.

Chres stared coldly at the man as the man's drink poured off of Sil and onto the counter top. She giggled as the drink flowed down her form. Her mouth open wide but to no avail. Chres didn't know what the man's deal was, but he could tell he was instigating her. Chres may have lost his passion for living, he may no longer care for his own safety, but if there was something Chres still cared for, it was his consideration for those around him... well, except when he was trying to get himself killed but that was beside the point. This man had already seen what Sil would do once instigated. He obviously didn't care.

Chres opennd his mouth to speak but before anything came from his mouth, a fist slammed down hard on the counter top between the man with the gourd and Chres.

Time to stop shaping. Chres thought, as he stopped maintaining the dagger's shape and recovered the little heat he could from the heat construct. The heat when up his arm and back into his shirt. His shirt was not as full of heat as it was a moment ago. Chres instinctively began storing his current body heat into his shirt in case he needed to form more heat constructs later. The change in his body temperature was immediate.

"Control your damn familiar, Mage. Your lucky I'm one of the nicer hunters. Others in my order wouldn't accept this slight." The man who slammed his fist fumed. Chres looked up at the man and frowned. It was the armored warrior Sil had splashed with the wine.

That's enough, Sil. Chres thought to Sil, as his placed his left hand over the glass metal pendent.

That's enough of wh- Sil's thought cut off in mid-sentence as Chres surrounded the glass metal pendent with his fist. While in his fist, no sources of light could touch the pendent. Without a source of light, the magic, which gave Sil life, could not function. Sil disappeared instantly.

Chres looked the man up and down. It appeared he came here looking for combat, but his outfit resembled no soldier uniform Chres recognized. The man inferred that he was a hunter. What did he mean by that? Chres had a few guesses, but couldn't be sure without additional information.

Chres paid a side glance to the female courier Sil had hit with the food earlier. A smidge of food still on her face. Chres allowed this to happen by letting Sil play with food. Chres pulled out a handkerchief and flung it over to the female courier. He then grabbed a few nearby cleaning cloths and offered them to the "hunter".

"My apologies, to both of you." Chres said to the man and women. "She literally has a mind of her own, but I should have known better than to let her play with food. Will you be needing a room to stay for the night? If so, I'll happily pay for your rooms. I hope that will be enough to make amends for my negligence." Chres wanted to wince at the thought of paying, but he didn't. Chres would also need a room for himself tonight, and he barely had enough coin to pay for three rooms.
@Vertigo Sounds really interesting! Can't wait to take a look!

FYI Ice and fire can be potentially be super powerful magic. In the past I had RP's where I allowed people to use it with little restrictions. Unfortunately, that made it easy for them to destroy all obstacles I placed before them. Be sure to sort out your mechanics. I've become extra critical if magic systems like that are lacking in restrictions and balance.
