Anger. It burned her through the girl as though she had swallowed the sun as she watched Jade's small frame begin to slip into the distance before her. How dare she?! Mora's ego fumed, Jade had no idea what she had been dealing with. She had no idea about how this very morning Mora had felt her heart drop into the very pit of her stomach at the thought of losing Lauren. Jade wasn't there when she had to listen to Lauren's self loathing bubbled to the surface. The fight that they both had overlooked these past few years. Mora tucked her chin into her chest, her anger burned bright inside her but if she was so angry. Then where did these tears come from?

Her eyes stung as the frozen landscape swam before her. She wanted to be angry with Jade for snubbing her. For the pain she felt when the girl brushed her off. Mora wanted to yelled, she wanted to fight and she wanted Jade to see. To see that they both had failed. That she had failed. Mora's shoulders slumped as she let out a staggering sigh. The fire that brimmed within her has started to snuff out as guilt quickly filled its place.

"Hey, Connor, make sure you stay near a guide. Okay?"

She swept her gaze over him once more before taking off after Jade. Mora didn't want to think about it anymore. Lauren's brightness this morning nor Jade's resentment towards her. She just wanted to make it down the mountain and get things back to normal. Squashing down her troublesome thoughts the girl focused on picking her way down the slope with careful steps. The snow swirled around her boots with each fresh step. The soft powder glistening back at her as if all was right and pure but her feelings didn't reflect in the sun. Inside, Mora was a mess. Despite how many times she tried to shift her worrisome memories they clawed and tore at her mind. Pulling her attention away from the subtle unease in the air.

Consumed in her own mind she had missed what the shouting was about. "Mora!" Her name tore her from herself as Jade's panic laden voice brought her to the chaos that had begun to erupt around them. "Jade?!" She whipped her head around, searching for her friend as an icy mist rose around her legs. "Lauren?! Connor!" Mora cried out before spotting Jade a few feet back scrambling along the snow with Sano in tow.

The ground beneath her had begun to tremble as a roar slowly filled her ears. Dread choked the scream from her throat. Her eyes wide with terror as the white mass barreled down at the cadets. She didn't realize she was running until a few moments later, tearing her eyes away from the horror that was about to rain down on them. We're going to die. A voice whispered in the back of her mind but her body paid no mind. Her fear fueling her frantic steps as she raced towards Jade and Sano.

She struggled against the shifting snow as it begged to drag her down below. A voice inside her begging her to lay down and accept her fate. No. She cried back as a scream caught her attention. Mora had been so focused on making it back to the safe zone she had almost ran straight past Sano and Jade. The small girl clinging to her friend as pain shot across her face.

Mora steeled herself, forcing the roar of the avalanche from her mind, as she turned and made her way towards them. "Jade!" Mora tried to yell over the noise, her hands seizing the fallen cadet. Looking over at Sano she tried to convey her intent with a look alone as she yanked the girl free. Time wasn't on their side, her eyes darted around her wildly. She could make out the faint shapes of her troop making their way to the safe zone and sent up a silent prayer to the Gods above that they could make it in time.

"Lets go!"

Mora barked back at Sano, shifting most of Jade's weight against her as she started to half drag the girl to safety. There was no way she was going to let her down. No one would die on her watch. Not again. She kept a slow count of time rolling in her head as each breath stung a little deeper as the icy mist rose ever further.

"Whoa." Bailey gasped as he watched the blonde slice cleanly through Arthur's water helix with an arc of electricity. He felt his feet gravitate towards the two of them, momentarily forgetting about his own power discovery. Around them chaos had erupted as people poured into the pool room, Cass bellowing loudly that powers didn't exist while another girl skidded straight into the pool but none of that mattered to Bailey. His focus narrowing on Arthur and Sienna as he went to prod them more about their abilities.

The air whooshed out of his lungs as a sharp tug pulled the young man back. Bailey turned, confused, and locked eyes with the seething Thomas who had be completely forgotten. Rage flickered brightly as he seethed, "Fix it." He hissed as Bailey's brain stammered over his choices. 'Fix it?!' he cried out mentally, he barely knew what he did in the first place. "Uhhhh.." Bailey was grasping at what to say next that wouldn't end up with a fist to the face. It was only by a saving grace that that the man decided to lower his raised fist, uttering a soft threat to Bailey before releasing him entirely.

Behind him he had barely caught the end of Arthur's speech. Calling the group to go and change before settling down to talk about what had just occurred. 'Leave it to Arthur to think rationally.' he sighed loudly taking a few nonchalant steps away from Thomas. Bailey ran a hand through his wet hair as he sucked in a few calming breaths. As Sienna approached the two, "Do you have an idea what had just happened?" she asked. Looking down at his own hands he wasn't even sure he had an answer for her, "I, uh, made this guy numb?" Bailey's voice had less power behind it this time as his gaze drifted back over to Thomas; he owed him an apology. 'Ehh. Better not.' his subconscious quietly agreed. At least until he knew the man wouldn't try to take his head off. Looking at Sienna Bailey tried to quickly change the subject, "What about you? You shot lighting!"

There is was, the enthusiasm that had been there earlier but who could blame the guy? He had witnessed not one but two mystifying acts in a short amount of time. Bailey had felt like he hit the jackpot with the odds of being chosen to come here. Bailey went and grabbed his things. Putting his glasses back on as he shoved the rest under his arm. Looking back at the two of them with a smile,"Arthur said we all should meet up in the lounge? Maybe figure all this stuff out?" he suggested as be edged towards the hall. If he was honest with himself he just wanted to see everyone do; whatever it was they could do- again. Just to make sure his eyes wasn't playing tricks on him.

Still dripping, Bailey padded back to his room. His legs still protested the movement. Urging him to crawl into bed and lay there for the rest of the day but Bailey's need to know was a stronger will inside of him. Sliding off the water logged pants he quickly donned a pair of dry shorts and put back on his shirt from earlier.

Jogging back down the halls, Bailey made sure to read the signs as he found his way to the lounge. Inside it seemed that quite a few people had already made it as Arthur's voice lilted into the halls. "Hey, oh," he paused taking in the damage done to the room, "Whoa, what happened in here? Everyone OK?" he shot the group a worried glance. They all looked unharmed, some a bit frazzled, but over all everyone looked decent.

'W-what? Wait...' Mora's mind stuttered as the mood had suddenly shifted. The darkness that plagued Lauren's eyes the other night were now filled to the brim with excitement. Her whole body seemed to radiate as she twirled the red head in the snow, exclaiming her declaration to the dawn's frosty air. Mora couldn't quite wrap her head around it. She had come there expecting the worst and hoping for the best. Guilt, sorrow, anger and joy. They danced together in the chaos that was Lauren's smile, though Mora couldn't keep her own smile off her lips. The girl's enthusiasm infectious and for the moment she pushed away the need to understand. Instead she laughed along with her friend, basking in her glow.

Though the moment faded as quickly as it came as Lauren began to march Mora back to the camps mess hall. Mora following in tow silently as she smiled to herself. A few days ago she would be said this trip was without purpose. She had complained the entire time up the mountain but now, after everything that had come to light and to see her friends face light up, Mora did feel the same.

Suddenly, without warning, Lauren veered off the beaten path. She opened her mouth to question but as Jade came into view, Mora quickly looked away. 'Jade.' her name rang guilty in Mora's head as Lauren stArted to drag her back up to the cabins. Not once had she sought out her friend since they arrived. She didn't check in on her. She didn't make sure she was safe. Instead, Mora had been so busy wrapping herself up in Lauren that she suddenly felt a fissure open up between the them. Not that Lauren seemed to notice. The red head didn't know how to reach out to Jade, not without spilling Lauren's secrets. So instead she watched her feet trudge through the soft powdery snow.

Mora's stomach rumbled to life as they near as the cabins. The scent of food lingering in the open air wafted away all Mora's worries as her mind filled with the thought of filling the gnawing pit in her belly. "Hey, guys. I'm going to go ahead." she said as she pulled away from the duo and giving Reese a small wave as he passed by.

Mora followed him in quietly humming to herself, "Food. Food. Food." flashing a smile to those who were already sitting and eating at the tables.

As soon as Mora sat down to eat a nearby officer spoke up, "Alright, cadets! Time to head back down. Lets go!" Mora groaned before hurriedly shoving in a few mouthfuls before abandoning the rest of her breakfast. A little of something was better than nothing on the chilly hike down, or at least that's what she was going to tell herself.

Outside the cadets were gathering into groups with their guides. Mora shrugged on her pack before spotting a scuffle in the snow. Jogging quickly over as she spotted Jade suddenly slip out from beneath the bigger cadet; her face washed in irritation as she patted herself down. "Everyone ok?" More inquired, huffing as she watched Jade pull Connor to his feet with worry. "Is he going to be able to make it down?" she moved around to the front of them. Mora trying to judge how unwell the cadet truly was. 'Drinking was a bad idea.' she sighed inwardly.

All the tension and soreness seemed to melt from Bailey's body as he clung to the side, his subconscious nestled deep into his own reality as he played out all the future's possibilities. Though despite his earlier uneasiness about Emma her image kept popping up as his mind wandered. The curve of her lips, the even better curve of her hips. 'Stop that.' his conscience would quip whenever Bailey let his mind wonder a bit too far. Not that he could help it, it was simply biology after all. Wasn't it? Bailey tried to squash the whole mess of things, wanting to bask in the moment instead of debating his own questionable morals.

SPLASH

The sound had caught him off guard. Had someone else joined him? Bailey opened his right eye only to be greeted with the smudge of colors and shapes of the world around him. 'Oh yeah.' it was easy to forget, with his glasses shapes were at least more definitive and his good eye filled in the rest for his brain to make sense out of. Closing his eyes he felt the gentle rocking of the waters as whoever else had joined swam behind him. He didn't feel the need to try to talk, they both of them probably after the same thing; a moments peace.

"Good afternoon all! Firstly, congratulations on the successful completion of your first testing sessions!"

The irritatingly chipped voice jolted Bailey from his position, frowning at the ceiling as clapping clearly sounded through the intercom system, echoing loudly, "How annoying." he commented out loud before the woman's syrupy voice chimed back in.

"Tomorrow will be more of the same and we'll gradually ramp it up but first y'all need to rest up so the afternoon is yours! Oh, and there are a couple of new faces joining us today who took a bit longer to get here. If you see them make sure they feel at home."

"Jesus, how many new are we going to get?" he frowned looking over at the other body in the pool. His gaze lingered a moment before it clicked that he was staring down at Sienna. Instantly Bailey's geeks flared to life as he settled to stare anywhere else but directly at the woman, "So, uh, did you find your suit in your room? Cause I looked around here but I didn't see anything." He rambled into the open air, suddenly feeling the need to explain why he was in the water in his pants.

Turning back away from Sienna, Bailey settled back down in the water. He wants sure if Sienna even wanted to talk with him, not that he would blame her. Lately he felt completely out of his element. Between his sudden illness, the surprise announcement of super powers and then that oddly intense physical; Bailey was mentally spent and he was sure most of the others were in the same boat.

Footsteps echoed in the pool room as another patient came in. Bailey sunk a little lower, now even more aware of the fact he was sitting in the water in his pants. 'Should've went back to your room first.' his conscience chided.

"Oh sweet lord."

The newcomer spoke, the familiar lilt of his accent making whining was glaringly obvious. Curious, Bailey looked up only for his jaw to drop in shock and awe. He watched as Arthur padded closer to the water, disbelief and awe written clearly across his face. "Just to check," be paused, looking over at the two of them, "You guys can see this too, right?" His voice colored in wonder.

Bailey's mouth open and closed like a fish as words faded away as he took in the sight of the double helix, watching as the water glistened in the mid air. His mind stammered, trying to make sense of what he saw. Was it Arthur? Maybe Sienna who was doing this? Bailey let go of the pool side and stared at his own hands, surely it wasn't him. He didn't feel like he was doing something but clearly; something was happening. He nodded confirmation to the man before climbing out of the water.

His pants shifted down as water poured from the water laden fabric. No longer did Bailey feel weightless but awkwardly heavy and off kilter. "Holy shit man." he looked wide eyed at Arthur, laughing as his shock dissolved into wonder. "Like, holy hell." Bailey exclaimed as he looked over at Sienna, pushing his fingers through his wet locks. 'Everyone needs to see this.'

Bailey's mind as racing at a mile a minute. He didn't even know where the others were or how to find them. Should be just start yelling? Should they find a staff member? Bailey was frozen for a moment as he contemplated what to do next when a blurry figure drew his attention.

"Hey!" he called out, moving haphazardly on the now set floor as he jogged towards the hallway, "Bro, you got. You got to see this!" Bailey exclaimed as he ran out to face the young man. He didn't recognize him but Bailey didn't care at the moment. He just wanted people to see what he saw. Ignoring the confusion on the guys face Bailey reaches out and grabbed his wrist in his hand and pulled the stranger into the pool room.

"H-hey, what are you doing?!" Thomas bulked, immediately pulling away from the manic man but Bailey was quick to tighten his grasp as he pulled him in further, "Man, let go of me! You're hurting my wrist!" he twisted in his grasp before glancing up at the floating body of water.

"Please, tell me you see this!" Bailey questioned him with childlike wonder. Thomas looked over at him and the back to the helix, "Yes, now will you let go of me?"

Bailey started, quickly letting go the mans wrist with a sheepish grin. "Sorry, I got carried away there but I mean look at it!" he exclaimed proudly as Thomas rubbed his newly freed appendage. Bailey's eyes were trained on the water before him, consumed in his own excitement that he missed the worried look that painted across Thomas' face.

"Why can't I feel my wrist?" he remarked, looking up at Bailey with a scathing glare. Bailey's brows shot up in surprise. 'Did I break it?' he wondered before snatching the mans hand back. Surely he hadn't of broken it, Bailey wasn't that strong. 'Unless I have super strength!' he gasped but as he studied Thomas' hand it was clear there was no damage done.

"What the hell man, stop that!" he scolded, jerking away suddenly as he cradled his arm away from the stranger. "What did you do?!" he shot an accusatory glare at Bailey, "I can't feel my hand...at all!?" Thomas flexed his fingers awkwardly, frustration furrowing his brow as his other hand poked and prodded the now numbed flesh.

Bailey looked down at his own hands, quickly grasping his bare arm wondering if he had some numbing effect but nothing. His skin responded to his touch like normal. Again he pressed on another area but with the same results. "Huh." he mused out loud before glancing back up at Thomas.

Without a word his hand shot out and touched his cheek. A moment of shock cell between him before Thomas slapped his hand away. "How does your cheek feel?" he inquired, his excitement barely contained.

"How does my cheek feel. How does it-" Thomas stopped mid-rant as his gently prodded his cheek. Stepped back from Bailey he answered, "It's numb. What did you do to me?!" he shrieked.

Bailey was thrilled, well beyond thrilled. His whole body humming with excitement as he happily proclaimed, "I don't know!" before turning back to Arthur and Sienna, "Guys! I made him numb!" a manic grin plastered across his face.

Mora grumbled as the first few rays of daybreak stabbed at her closed lids, she huddled further down in the warmth of her cot. Her subconscious desperately grasping at the retreating darkness as she felt her lids start to flutter open. "Unnh." she muttered into the morning air as she lazily stretched out on her cot. The silence around her was saturated with the sleep laden breathing of her fellow cadets; drunken snoring and soft creaking as some tossed and turned in their beds. Overall though she thought to to be peaceful. A moment break away from the normal chatter and scuffle of boots across the floorboards. Mora stared blankly at the bottom of the bunk above her, her mind awake but her body unwilling to join.

Looking over she noticed a crumple of blankets as Lauren's cot was left empty. More worry flooded her as she recalled the bonfire. She had sat there, dumbly, as one of the seniors had pressed a cup into the youths hand. Mora didn't even move as she watched Lauren down the first cup with mute eyes. What was she go do? She didn't know then and she didn't know now. Mora was flooded with the old familiar feeling of uselessness. With every step forward she only found herself met with another impossible wall. With a heavy sigh she sat up and swung her legs over the side of her cot, 'Mom...dad, what am I to do?'

Pressing down the overwhelming feeling she busied her mind with getting herself dressed. By now lacing up her gear was second nature, her fingers deftly pulling at the strings of her boots as she let her mind wander over today's possibilities. Mora sat up, breathing in a deep cool breathe of winter air as she pressed her palms into her eyes before pushing them back into her wild mane. "Alright, no more dawdling." she coaxed herself up and strode towards the door.

She braced herself as she swung the door open, waiting for the dry air to suck the warmth from her bones but instead a gentle cool nipped at her. The sun beat down on the frozen ground beneath her, the snow scattering the blinding light forcing Mora to squint until her eyes adjusted. The faint scent of food whipped past her as the dim crashing sounds of breakfast beckoned her towards the mess hall. When was the last time she ate? She had been so exhausted by the bike and then Lauren that Mora had slept right through dinner the other night and then she had a taste of the foul wine.

Her nose wrinkled at the memory as she trudged through the crisp snow. Shivering she offered a quick nod and a smile in the direction of the older men. "Morning, hero." one of them called. Mora grimaced as Shultz's nickname crashed in her ears. Turning back with an annoyed smile she answered, "Yes?"

"Your friend...the uh, the medic one. She went off towards the cliff edge, tell her to come to the mess hall and eat. We'll be starting back down today. She'll need the energy."

Mora nodded curtly, try in to mask the horror that threatened to overwhelm her as her heart plunged into her gut. Lauren was at the Cliffside? She could feel she's heart this heavily in her chest, 'Lauren.' Mora's mind reeled as she hurried down the pathway marked by Lauren's steps. Different scenarios bubbled to the surface, one after the other as she tried to mentally squash her building anxiety when Lauren's form came into view.

"Oh for fucks sake." she whispered to herself before making her way to the girl, moving carefully to mask the sounds of her footsteps. Her fear had melted into annoyance and relief as she quickly shot out her arms around Lauren, pulling her back away from the edge and safely in her arms. "Law." Mora scolded into her back, "You sacred me, don't do that." her arms tightened around her as her voice cracked a little.

"They said you were heading to the Cliffside and I-," Mora continued trying to control the emotion in her voice, "I thought you were going to hurt yourself." Mora could barely hear herself as her voice trailed off, keeping the girl pinned to her for a moment longer before letting her go.

She gulped in a few sharp breath as she tried to steady her chaotic emotions before looking up to addressing Lauren again but the words didn't come. She wanted to scold her friend for worrying her. She wanted to cheer that she was ok and she wanted to cry at the never-ending helpless feeling that kept burying deeper and deeper within. Instead she pulled Lauren back to her, "I need you with me, you dummy." Mora joked into Law's frame, resting against her solidness.

Bailey nodded and smiled where he felt appropriate as he idly snacked on his bag of chips. A good portion of them had gathered together around the vending machine, 'Huh... I wonder where she is?' He had watched the halls for her to appear and while one after the other had made their way, still no Athena. Sighing inwardly he brought himself back from his thoughts only to notice that the group had started to disperse already.

"Is it time to go back already?" Bailey commented, looking around for a clock. "Well, I'll see you guys later!" flashing them a broad smile before trodding off down the halls. Already, Bailey could feel his heart flutter in his chest as made his way back to his testing room. He tried to shake his nervousness away but only managed to make himself even more on edge. 'No need to be nervous, Bailey. She's just a person...just like you,' he tried to convince himself before opening the door,'An incredibly attractive person, oh shit.'

Emma was sitting at a little desk, engrossed with the charts that were laid out before her. Bailey took a moment to take her all in, trying to quell the stammer in his chest. More bits of auburn hair had escaped her bun, falling softly to the side of her cheeks. "We come back, Bailey." she called from her desk without looking up. "I hope you are enough as we're going to be moving onto the physical portion next." Emma smiled as she looked up at him and adjusted her glasses.

"I didn't know you wore glasses." Bailey commented as he stepped in.

"Oh, these? These are just for reading. Got to love fine print." Emma joked as took them off, setting them on the desk. "Alright, I'm going to need you to remove your shirt." Bailey's brain stammered over the information. His hands twitched as he shot her a surprised look.

Emma laughed, a wonderful soulful laugh, as she studied Bailey's confusion. Without a word she moved over to a cabinet and pulled out a cluster of wires with little square lads attached. With a bemused smirk she turned back to the young man, "Come on now, we don't have all day." beckoning Bailey over.

Bailey complied with a stunned look as she helped him out of his shirt and began to hook him up. His mind was swirling with the faint scent of flowers and coffee that emitted from the woman's skin and clothes. So ensnared in their closeness he hadn't even noticed that she had cranked up the speed on the treadmill until he was panting.

How long had he been running? Bailey wasn't paying attention as he lost himself in all the impossible situations his mind had managed to cook up. "Come on, you can do better." Emma's voice broke his concentration. Was that a hint of sharpness to her tone? Bailey's broads furrowed as he huffed along, sweat beginning to pour down from his brow.

"Come on, Bailey."

No, there it was again. A demanding clipped tone that wasn't there before. Bailey's legs began to burn and his lungs pleaded for him to stop as he watched her crank up the speed once more. Now Bailey was full out running, harder and longer than he ever had before. All while Emma stood back, arms folded firmly across her chest with a calculated look across her face. Without a word she stepped up and shut off the machine.

Bailey stumbled off, breathing heavy as he body sung with relief.

"Well done, Mr. Collins." the sharpness had melted back to her previous sweet tone as Emma helped take off the wires, "We're done for the day. Why don't you go hit the pool area and cool down? If not, feel free to indulge in any of the resources out facility has to offer." Emma handed Bailey his shirt and made her way back to her desk, scribbling away as she had dismissed him.

Bailey wiped away the sweat that matted his hair and stepped outside. Actually, a swim didn't sound too terrible at the moment. Though his legs protested each step as he made his way to the pool room. Looking around it didn't seem like anyone else had decided to come. 'I wonder if they have any suits around here?' he wondered as he poked around the room. Sighing, Bailey couldn't even find a changing room let alone some suits. Common sense dictated they'd probably be in his room but Bailey was tired, sweaty and hot and that water looked so inviting.

Glancing around quickly, Bailey tool off his glasses and stripped off his shirt once again. He tucked his glasses away along with his socks and shoes to the side of the room before giving himself a small moment to take in a deep breath as he barreled towards the water and jumped in.

Relief flooded him instantly as the cool water enveloped him. Quickly,Bailey swam back up the surface and paddled to the edge where he let his arms hols him afloat. 'Now this is nice...'

Something was breaking the darkness that was Mora's dreams. How many nights had she woken up soaked from the sweat? How many nightmares choked the breathe from her lungs until she sprang up, gasping? Tonight was different. Her dreams were silent. A welcoming darkness that was now being infringed on but the raucous noise that drifted through the cabin. "Shhh..." Mora half-asleep, tried to hush the sounds but it was too late as her eyes had already started to flutter open. 'Law?'

Mora patted the empty space beside her, feeling the coolness of the sheets instead of the warmth of her friend. Her eyes stung, protesting her wakefulness and bidding her to lay back down but Lauren was missing and Mora was already starting to worry. With a heavy sigh she forced herself out of bed and threw on her snow gear. The thought of willingly going back out into the freezing cold caused her to grumble to herself, "You better be ok."

Mora stumbled towards the door only to paused as a bleary figure came into focus, "Law?" she called out, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. 'Maybe, I won't have to go outside after all.'

She moved closer, feeling the cold seep out from door and sapping away the last tendrils of sleep from her body. Outside she could see the rest of the cadets start to hustle around the fire, their laughter tinkling across the night sky as they downed whatever liquid their superior had handed out. "Oh," Mora commented as she leaned against the door, "That actually looks nice."

Mora glanced over at Lauren as an unknown feeling tightened around her chest. 'What? I can't look over at my friend anymore?' Maura chided at herself, ducking her head away to hide the faint blush that colored her cheeks. Did Lauren want to go out there? Mora could feel an awkwardness between the two, not knowing quite how to breech it. "We should go." Mora stood back up, after all she was already dressed for the occasion.

"I think it'd be nice, I mean-" She rested her hand on the nape of her neck, searching for the right words, "How often are we going to get a chance at something like this?" Mora softly chuckled as she pushed open the door, letting the brunt of the winter air sweep inside the cabin.

Looking back at Lauren she gave her friend a small smile, "I think you definitely should come outside with me but first," her grin widened as she looked down at Lauren's feet, "You might want to get your shoes on." The tension felt thick between them, Mora didn't know how to dissipate the feeling of awkwardness that came from being to blatantly vulnerable with another person but she didn't want sit and stew in it either. Moving forward was all she had and pushing Lauren forward was all she had to offer at the time.

As she stepped out she kept her eyes back at the girl, "So, you, go get ready and I'll be waiting for you out here. Ok?"

She didn't give Lauren a chance to respond before turning her back and heading towards the bonfire. As the door swung shut behind her, she glanced back worrying if that was the right thing to do. I'm glad she was ok.'

Mora put on her best smile as she came into view of the fire, shivering in her gear as she waved at the rest of the cadets. "Hey guys!" She called out, cheerful. "I'll take whatever if is you're drinking, since you guys woke me up and all." Mora tried to hold as she found a spot near the fire, meanwhile someone had passed her a tankard filled with some sort of warm drink. Not hesitating, she took a swig and immediately gagged as the taste of alcohol overwhelmed her.

"What? Never had a taste of mulled wine before?" one of the older soldiers laughed as she sat sputtering out the drink into the snow below.

"Ugh, can't say I have. Here." Mora retorted handing the tankard back. 'How could Lauren drink the I stuff?' she thought dryly before realisation hit her. 'Shit, Lauren.' Mora had invited her out here without knowing there would be drinking. She wondered if she should go back and warm the girl, but how would she explain her sudden leaving to the rest of the cadets? Instead Mora squirmed uncomfortably in her seat, glaring at the half melted snow by her feet. Why were things suddenly so complicated?

Bailey jumped slightly as Cass' voice caught him unaware,"Oh, haha. She's- well, she seems nice." he blustered. Feeling the heat rise to color his cheeks once more. 'Why'd I have to get her?' he moaned, though the better part of him was actually slightly pleased that he would be getting to work with Emma. She's seemed so warm in comparison to the rest of the staff.

"So, uh, how was your trainer?" Bailey tried to shift the topic off himself and onto the newcomer. They didn't have much of a chance to chat before going to the auditorium and after this mornings confusion, Cassius seemed to be taking the situation a little easier

Another voice chimed in before Cass had a chance to respond, a young woman that Bailey recognized from the first day. "No luck, Eliza?" He smiled at her, welcoming the distraction. "Its kind of exciting though, though to be honest I kinda expected something more," Bailey paused, searching his addled brain for the word, "Ahhh, sci-fi. Yeah, science fiction." Not that he was complaining about a little blood draw and some exercise. Bailey might be a little on the scrawny side but he was actually in pretty decent shape. Looking over at Cassius he could feel his ego deflate a little, maybe not as good in shape as that guy but at least he wouldn't be dying within the first few minutes.

"Hey." Bailey greeted Sienna as she appeared listening to her comment about her trainer. "Seems like there's all sorts of characters here, maybe you and Eliza could switch?" he joked.
