Simba Etana could be described as quiet and self-possessed. Some have mocked him for daydreaming far too often, others have found it alluring. Most end up straying from him, finding him to be intimidating despite his lack of actually speaking. His closest friend however, has a different opinion of him. She sees a troubled boy attempting to find his place in the coming change. He's of the thinking-sort, always looking ahead but never truly living in the present. He is wholly temperamental when confronted with agitating prospects. Whether it be small interruptions to his contemplations or inescapable brawls, Simba always goes for the finisher. He's not exactly a fan of wasted effort. He very rarely does more than necessary.

Spirits make you special. That's just about the only thing, Simba is absolutely sure of. Everything else is up for debate. Even universal facts promotes a hint of questioning. His father believes him to be ungrateful; wanting to feel utterly alone to protect himself and his ideals. Ideals, that to be frank, can be based less on morals then perspective. He could view a public-execution without regard or keep to himself upon witnessing a murder. However, say the rapist or murderer was someone he disliked, perhaps a loud-mouth, then he'd intervene just for the hell've of it. At the end of the day being a Guardian or a Host for Spirits doesn't obligate him to be a hero. He won't let anything chain him down, even if it meant floating off into a infinite ocean of unsureness.

Simba was born a empty-vessel, a natural host for the spirits a visiting-scholar had claimed. Before becoming host to them, specialist and doctors had proclaimed him terminally ill. They called it exceedingly rare that a case like his had transpired. Learning this was harsh on his father and mother. Mustafar Etana (father) sought help from an elder deity named Sinnu. Mustafar, who had found contact with the ancient spirit to be preposterous at first, danced furiously for three days non-stop. On the twelfth-hour of the third-day, Mustafar caught a stifling case of rigor-mortis. His joints and muscles stiffened and bent, his spine contorted and mental contact had been made.
Mustafar had described Sinnu as a terrible storm upon his psyche. It had raged and boom, its tentacles whipping out at him. He found that Sinnu was neither benevolent or malign, however, it gave nothing without payment.
Needless to say Simba was blessed by Sinnu. A blessing that made him a fire in the darkness for oceanic spirits. Since his birth, Simba has only ever known his father. His mother was comatose for "reasons", Mustafar had never divulged why. Because of his well-known quantity of spirits, much was expected of him. In the end, little came of those expectations. Right before the Calamity occurred, Simba was plagued with dreams for weeks on end, revealing a shared ability between himself and Sinnu. Since, he's been hiding from the UFD, not wanting to be claimed as one of their Guardians. s t r i f e
Despite his youth, Simba has been involved in several small yet dangerous skirmishes. Many of which only transpired due to his well-known status as a Host for Spirits. He's taken on a local cult, put down a wayward beast, and most recently disgraced an overzealous, yet hopeful, Guardian. The spirits asked for helped on that occasion. After his first deadly encounter he took on a powerful martial-arts called Kwondotae which he employs to dispatch weaker foes. Because of his connection with Sinnu, Simba has a near profound affinity for Water magic and a hidden talent for Poison.

His ability to outwit others come from a mature wisdom. The youth, though nineteen, works at a library and carries a journal he records important encounters in. Dreams also appear in this journal. Though not mentioned anywhere else, Simba resides in Hundale, Livrias and speaks both Rivanas and Lirbian.
