Ezra managed to find James just in time, taking the can of Old Spice Lionpride cologne spray from his jacket pocket and dousing his brother in it to hide the stench of his high. With a stern shove towards their homeroom, Ezra walked with his brother and helped him stay on course, not even allowing him to grab a quick snack from a vending machine just out of James' reach as they walked down the hallway.
"Should have thought of that earlier, Jim," Ezra said to his brother, keeping his free hand on his brother's back while the other held his copy of Goblet of Fire that also held his class schedule as a makeshift bookmark within it. It was his hopes that the homeroom teacher wouldn't have them doing any work, especially on the first day, but then again some teachers didn't care. Their last year's teacher hadn't, and this year they
were seniors. The workload would probably start early for them, Ezra thought to himself.
As they rounded the corner and made their way upstairs to the second level of the 300 building, the two boys stepped into the classroom in which Ezra practically ran into the back of James as he abruptly stopped. James was staring at the three girls sitting in the room with a bewildered look, which Ezra couldn't help but find hilarious.
"Never seen a girl before, brother?" Ezra sniggered into his twin's ear.

James shook Ezra's hand off him and glared back at his brother before making his way to the back of the classroom on the opposite side of the girls, crossing his arms across the table to nestle his head into. James then closed his eyes and began to think about his best friend and the girl who his heart had belonged, not having heard from them in so long, with his phone being broken for nearly the whole summer. All that was really on James' mind was the fact he hoped he'd be seeing them today, either one or the other, but to see the both of them would just make his whole year. He let out a deep sigh, getting as comfortable as he could in the hard desk he sat in, as close to the corner as he could manage.

Ezra watched his brother sit down in the back of the class and close himself off from the rest of them before he moved further into the classroom to take his own seat, choosing a spot in almost the dead-center of the room. Before taking his seat, he gestured to the three girls with a small wave of his hand and a half smile.

Elizabeth had managed to make it to school with just moments to spare, cutting the engine to her bike just as the 5-minute warning bell rang out across school grounds. She'd been late because she stayed behind long enough to help her dad get his truck up and running again. It wouldn't start when he tried heading to work that morning, and Elizbeth knew enough that she actually did most of the work to help him bring the ol' girl back to life. She quickly pulled off her helmet and shook her hair out to rid of the stiff look her hair took from the very thing, strapping it around the handles and darting off to..
wait, where am I going? Elizabeth heaved a heavy sigh as she dug into her jeans pocket, tugging her neatly folded schedule out from its clutches.
313. How could she have forgotten that? Not only were 3 and 13 her favorite numbers, but she'd had the same classroom last year for a Teacher Aid period.
Armed with nothing but a pen and a flimsy, beat-up notebook from the year before, Elizabeth wandered slowly into the classroom with a slight hesitance about her. Immediately, she recognized a few faces and waved hello to the girls in the back. Ally, Skylar, and Kira were their names, she had no problem places names on familiar faces. Then there were
the boys. Ezra and James Rumancek. No way in hell she could forget their names or their troublesome faces. As soon as Elizabeth and Ezra made eye contact, both corners of their mouths seemed to reach their ears as Elizabeth walked over and hugged her friend tightly around his mid-section. Considering he kind of towered over her like a giant. Elizabeth smiled over at James with a friendly wave before taking a seat with Ezra in the middle of the classroom.
"Taking up your usual spot as the center of attention, huh Ez?" Elizabeth smirked and prodded Ezra playfully.
Ezra shook his head, his grin growing slightly widening.
"Nah, saved it for you, Darlin'. Knew you'd want it all for your own." He shielded himself and laughed as Elizsbeth tried to swat her hand at him, looking back up as more students continued to file into the small room.
