"Great, I wait for a rematch, and all I get is a cheesy two-bit freak show with no sense of originality," growled Jake as he charged forth, slamming his axe into three skeletons so hard they shattered into flying pieces of bone. "For crying out loud, I wait a week or two for a revenge match, and all you can throw at me are cliched words that aren't worth the breath used in saying them?! You really need an evil speech tutor."

Jake paused to listen to Taran's plan.

"Normally, I'd say shouting the plan isn't exactly a sign of smarts, kid," Jake said, his grin widening, "but I like that idea. One lich stew coming up!"

Jake charged forth, slamming his axe into a nearby skeleton warrior, and then swung the hapless undead right at the closest cluster of undead soldiers as he ran at the Horned King.
Renose said I think its Thomas' and Saint's turn to post.

Sorry for not posting earlier. Connection issues plagued me yesterday.
Jake nodded slightly at Thomas' remark.

"Can't really argue that point, but right now, we need to work together. Thanks for the help, though..."

As Jake turned to lead the civilians out, a nagging voice at the back of his head was saying that Thomas somehow didn't like him very much. Jake may come off as abrasive, but something was off about the kid.

Dropping the prisoners to freedom, Jake gave a chuckle at how Eilonwy seemed to have the hots for Taran. There was the whole class difference, but damn, the kid knew how to pick 'em.

"Don't worry, Taran," Jake said, twirling his axe, "I'm about due for a rematch with Mr. Big and Ugly anyways. I was born ready. Besides, Reno might need some backup; we need to hurry."

The trio ran up the castle, cutting through undead and Heartless like a scythe through a dry field. Jake focused more on the Heartless, leaving the skeletons to Taran; the boy may still be a greenhorn, but if he was going to be a knight, best to let the kid whet his sword-fighting skills on the creatures he can take down rather than Heartless. Besides, he wasn't too bad, all things considered.

When they arrived at the Horned King's throne room, however, Jake went in first and began coughing. The foul stench of Mika's breath lingered, even though it was not as potent as before.

"Sonuvagun! What the *cough* hell?! Guys be careful *cough*. Apparently someone had a 13 bean and skunk dinner and then cut the cheese. *Cough* God damn it's foul!"

Waving his hand to dispel the stench, Jake looked around. He made out Hen Wen the pig surrounded by a large wall of ice, and the Horned King present. He grit his teeth and gripped his axe handle.

"Okay, Horny Toad," Jake said, "I'm back for the rematch! Where's Reno?!"
Renose said And ANY element of surprise that Belle or Reno may have had is now completely out the window XDGood thing Thomas isn't around to see this or he would be hitting his head against a wall repeatedly

Jake would probably have his own boneheaded tales to tell about his younger days.

But I think the element of surprise was gone the moment Creeper started calling out for the Heartless.
BioHazard said Though you have added an extra person to the group. The bard and the old man are the same person: Fflewdurr Fflam.

I'll go back and fix it. Anyone else I forgot?
Oh, *whew*. Thought I messed up the posting order.
Sorry for the post, just wanted to get the meeting with Thomas done with.

Unless Thomas isn't in Pyrdain, then I've really screwed up, haven't I? :(
"Gee, I dunno, junior," Jake quipped. "One barbarian, one dog-thing, two kids, and an old bard... we're quite the terrifying bunch.

"Name's Jake," he replied more seriously, lowering his key-axe just a bit. "This isn't a social visit, I gather; meeting two keyblade wielders in a day doesn't just happen.

"Right now, though, we need to get out of here, or we'll be up to our ears in Heartless. Apparently, the landlord subcontracted out his security, and there's another keyblade user further up. You want to help, help me get these civilians out of the castle, then we get right back up and kick Heartless tail. How's that sound?"
Well, my point on Gurgi still stands - the only thing he was useful for IIRC was to sacrifice himself to break the Black Cauldron. He gets revived and is less of an annoying freak later on.
Sorry for the late response, my schedule's been quite off nowadays. So how do the next bunch of meetings go? Jake would be more than happy to tear a path direct to the Horned King for a rematch, but he's got quite a few non-Keybladers to take care of, and it's been a while since I saw Black Cauldron, so I don't know if any of them will be more of a help than a burden.

Gurgi's still freaking useless, of course.
