And after much delay, we have a forum for this to start. @Mistress Dizzy

I'll try and have the first post up later on today.

“I have ” Aurelio would speak up at Alicia’s trailed off question about Penny. He’d fish out his phone and pull up the short conversation he had with her before sliding the phone over to Alicia so she could read it. “Haven’t had a chance to ask back about that favor due to the trial, but it seems that she went off to deal with the undead that popped up.” Which was a good thing, as that meant Penny still was on the good guy’s side. Right?

Because much like Alicia the pristine magician had pushed a few thing to the back of his mind as he focused on the Trial and its outcomes, and the last time he had seen Penny was definitely one of those things. It had been an emotionally charged viewing, as some many things seemed to be as of late, but the thing that really had him worried was the Love he could feel emanating from it, and the fact that it was only coming from one of them.

Before he could speak up again to try and start brain storming ideas Serenity spoke up, and Aurelio found himself agreeing with her assessment of the situation. Penny, due to providence or happenstance was smack in the middle of this, and if anyone could get the answers that they needed it was her. The chilling thought that came to him was that the inverse was also true. If Penny was to be swayed away from Beacon, their enemies would have everything they needed to strike out at them.

Before that thought could do more than simply worry him, the once horror clicked to her next slide and Aurelio had to stop himself from face palming, as even before the screaming happened he knew what was about to happen. Not that he could blame Serenity he supposed, switching over to a human’s way of thinking after who knows how long as part of an unknowable eldritch thing couldn’t be easy.

“I’ll headout with her” Aurelio offered once the sentencing was given out “To watch her back and act as a sounding board, reflection is good and all but in her defense she’s not had a lot of time to get into a normal mindset, let alone Beacon’s.” Besides hadn’t he just earlier said that he wasn’t going to forget her? No way was he letting her go off solo so soon after that.

“That leaves dealing with Penny up to you Alicia.” He would add “But honestly when it comes to dealing with Penny it was always going to be you I think. I mean she likes us sure” he would say gesturing around before gesturing at the Paladin “But that pales in comparison to how she feels about you” He didn’t like to bring up how other people felt without their permission, especially when they weren’t there, but it was true.

>>Meet the Parent<<

After their spot of fun, Viva had set forth on setting up the meeting. Seeing as there weren't many better spots to perform such then in the apartment itself, she simply set up in the living room area. It was how she had come to be sitting at the coffee table working with a mortar and pestle grinding down some of the ingredients, a mix of wood shavings and herbs, needed for the minor ritual.

On the table sat the rest of the supplies needed for the endeavor, a pair of red candles, a box of matches, a medium copper bowl, a gleaming razor, and a strange metal disk. Most of the tools were ordinary, but the disk held an ominous feel to it. It was seemingly made out of a dark bronze and was decorated with three vertical eyes that always seemed to be watching the observer.

Once Viva was done with her grinding, having made a chalky powder out of the ingredients, she would carefully pour them into the copper bowl before placing the disk on top. “Right, we can now start whenever you want Chloe” She would call out as she reached into her Hammerspace and pulled out a small caduceus trinket that she would affix to her choker. Part of the ritual required a fair bit of blood, and she didn’t want to risk what her magic would do to it, thus the reason she pulled out her healing artifact, as she had a feeling that the small dominator would want this started as soon as possible.

“Well get on with it.” Chloe said, pulling on her dress. She had elected to take her sweet time with getting her clothes back on after their tryst. The other dark magical girl wasn't quite sure what to expect. This mother was likely a horror of some sort, or something quite close to it, so when Viva went about setting up a ritual, she let the other girl do it.

“I am eagerly waiting to see what this mother of yours is about.” She sat herself back on the couch, looking at Viva with mild interest.

Viva let her gaze linger on Chloe for just a moment longer, as she enjoyed the view, before turning back to the matter at hand. With a nod to herself she would pick up the matches and light the candles before placing the still lit match into the bowl, standing it up in the powdered mixture.

From there she would splay her hand open on the disk, careful to keep the eyes uncovered, and pick up the razor. “Once for the Mother alway watching her brood” She would intone as she made a deep cut in the back of her hand letting the blood flow forth onto the disk. “Two for the children still hidden in their wombs” once again another cut on the back of her hand just as deep as the first one. The blood flowing from the cuts was drawn to the eyes seeping into them as a deep smoke started to pour out from the bowl. “Third for myself, so that my prayer can be heard.” A final cut and at this point one could see the blood being drawn from Viva’s hand by a mystical force and the bowl was glowing red from the heat of the fire it held contained. “I offer this tribute to you Caretaker of the Scorned, in accordance with our pact. I seek your presence on the whims of another, the Mistress of the Departed and Seeker of the Damned”

“Let my blood act as your tether, so that you may come here to speak. From your home I call you thusly Lady Lamashtu!” It would be prudent to mention that for all academic purposes that the ritual that Viva was performing was a minor one, something that any armature practitioner of the arcane arts would be able to perform, as it was little more than a fancy way to ping outside forces. Thus the only reason that Viva was able to get such a potent response was due to the twin factors of that Mother was waiting for such a call, and the disk that was given acted as lens to focus and direct the ping.

Because of that, once Viva had finished her Calling even more smoke nearly exploded from the bowl even as Viva fought to keep her hand in place even as the disk also started to glow both from the heat and the offered blood. The smoke very quickly began to coalesce into a shape however and in very little time a hooded and cloaked figure would materialize on the other side of the table from Viva.

“Vivian dear. How good to hear from you again” Spoke the figure at the far end of the table. The voice was feminine but also older. It held a velvety quality to it even as it seemed to linger in the air.

“Hey Mum” Viva would reply happily, though somewhat weakly. Her hand was still laying on the glowing disk, still bleeding and possibly burning if the smell was any indication. “Haven't met Penny yet” Viva would go on, not caring about the abused state of her hand “But I found Chloe. She really wanted to meet you” She would gesture at the girl in question with her free hand, before reaching with that same hand to grab her healing artifact to begin repairing the damage that had been done.

“Yet not before you had a chance to fool around I see” Lamashtu would say, humor evident in her voice, before she turned to face the smaller girl, pulling back her hood as she did so to reveal a surprisingly human looking face. Her skin tone was a vibrant red close to that of freshly spilled blood, and her long hair was the color of bleached bone, her ears were slightly elongated and pointed and her eyes were the color of molten bronze. She regarded Chloe with a fond smile the tips of what were likely fangs just barely peeking out “Ah, my sweet Chloe! What a pleasure to finally meet you!” Lamashtu would say with fond adoration as she moved to sit across from the spirit mage.

“Well now,” Chloe replied with a grin. “When Vivia mentioned a 'Mother' I didn't know quite to expect. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised.” The dark magical girl smirked. “For an older looking woman, I wouldn't mind a date.” Chloe giggled. Despite her friendly seeming demeanor, there was a definite edge to her voice. For as human as she looked, until proven otherwise she wasn't going to be able to trust her.

“You and Vivia certainly know how to get on my good side.” She hummed, leaning back in her seat. “And yet here I am, not knowing anything about you and you seeming to know everything about me. I guess I’m flattered, fufu.” Chloe's lips parted in a small grin.

“Ooo you are a feisty one.” Lamashtu would say with a chuckle at Chloe's offer of a date “Sadly it’s not everything my dear, though I do try and keep up to date on all of my children” She would go on to say as a clawed hand slipped out of the cloak to undo the clasp on it rather then taking it off however the cloak simply sublimated back into smoke, proving that this was only a projection not the actual Patron themselves.

“I am Lamashtu, The Mother of Monsters.” She would introduce herself with a slight nod of the head as the smoke diapated around her revealing that for all of her pretense of humanity she very obviously wasn’t. While obviously female, she would stand taller than any human, and most of her was covered in a pale white chitinous looking material that seemed to pulsate, while the odd strand of muscle or vein would slither out from the cracks in it from time to time before retracting as the bone like material would shift and regrow to cover the cracks, only to form new ones as it went.

She had an extra set of arms, seemingly growing out of the same joint as her more dominant pair, that were slightly misshapen. Either missing digits or with clawed fingers that were incorrectly perportined. Her legs ended with feet that seemed more akin to bird’s rudimentarily fused together to resemble something more human, with a wicked talon on the front and a spike of bone acting as the heel.

Yet it was easy to see that this form was only a fleeting thing, as it would slowly continue to grow and warp in on itself as they spoke, keeping only the vague assurances of Lamashtu being female.

“I am a Goddess by right of conquest, and maintain that status by virtue of my strength, and all who bathe in corruption are my family” She would go on to explain giving a wide smile, one much larger than her dainty face would lead one to expect displaying rows of razor sharp fangs. “That includes you my dear. But I suspect more that you want to talk about our wayward one, Penny, no?”

“Hmm...Penny, yes.” Chloe replied lazily, taking in Lamashtu's form. A goddess, was she then? Her eyes were drawn to every part of her, it seemed. Some monstrous body she had in every sense of the word. Not that she minded at all. “My precious, little, Penny.” Her eyes eventually drifted back towards Lamashtu's, not breaking away from her gaze for even a second. Family, them? How absurd. She cared not for such trivial connections. Even when she wasn't a dark magical girl, she hadn't been very kind to hers.

“My precious little Penny that I love so dearly, fufu, she's always such a popular one it seems.” Chloe leaned back, breathing in as she closed her eyes. “First it La'at, then Beacon, and now...you. I know my Penny very well. So very, very well...I could spend so very long talking about my Penny.” Chloe's expression turned to a small smirk. “But no, right now? I want to talk to you. About you. Why do you want my Penny? You want to take her from me, and well...” She chuckled darkly. “I get...cranky when people try to take what I love. And when they try to hurt them? Well...” A smile split the girls face. “...you might be a 'goddess', but I have to wonder how pretty your soul would be.”

“Radiant enough to leave you blind and breathless” Lamashtu would lean forward as she replied her smile never wavering, if anything it seemed to grow. “But surely you must have known that others would take note of what you saw in Penny? She is precious, that is true, and a rare sort that one doesn’t see very often. Her soul is beautiful. Fractured, mutable, yet hardy and resilient. Stubbornly defined by whoever it is that she has given her heart too.” She gave a happy sigh at that description as if enamored with the romantics of it. “I simply wish to protect her from those that try and abuse her, but she would never stand back and allow others to give her the shelter she wishes to give others. Under my care however, I would be able to give her everything she needs to assist her fellow siblings.”

“As for taking her from you, why would I want to do that?” She would ask tilting her head slightly “I nearly lost her once, due to that thrice cursed creation of Beacon’s, but your love is bringing her back into the fold.'' Despite never raising her voice her tone of voice made it clear that she hated the White Coin with every fiber of her being. “I’m grateful you got to Penny before that dreadful Beacon wretch could dig her claws in any deeper. She took my sweet Kimble away from me, and she nearly did the same to poor Penny.” Lamashtu’s eyes had become baleful slits of burning rage as she got caught up in the most recent loss of one of her children.

Chloe was silent a few moments as Lamashtu finished speaking. Could she trust her? There was the slight chance Penny might end up loving this woman more than she. It was fine if she was part of beacon, she was quickly solving that issue. Penny would eventually choose between them, and she was almost certain Penny would choose her. But this...goddess? She was certain Lamashtu wouldn't hurt Penny, but now she was concerned entirely with something else.

“...I don't know about this Kimble person.” Chloe finally replied with a small sigh. “But you have my condolences.” It was easy enough to give false lip service, even if she wasn't certain how much this Lamashtu would trust her. Was she really so easy to trust someone like her? Hmm, likely not. She was smiling, but there was a definite danger to her voice. A face she had worn enough times herself. “Very well,” She finally conceded after a bit more thinking. “I leave you alone, there's a chance you'll take Penny from me under my nose. So fine, I'll agree to help you meet...but that's all. You'll have to convince Penny yourself.”

Keep your friends close, and enemies closer and all that. If they became a threat, at least like this she could keep an eye on them. Penny was hers.

“If nothing else, we can hate beacon together, fufu.”

“Oh she was a wonderful little ball of wind and fury” Lamashtu would say as she returned from her reverie. “And that is all I would ask of you my darling daughter.” She would say her smile returning to more normal proportions, her anger seemingly forgotten. “Convincing her of my good intentions can’t be too difficult now that she’s starting to get away from Beacon and their toxic presence.”

“Now I should probably head home, and let Vivian finish healing up” She would say as she stood up “Do keep me in mind if you and Penny ever decide on having kids won’t you? I’d be more than willing to give my blessing for one of you to become a mother.” With those parting words said, her form would fall apart into smoke once more.

A gasp of relief could be heard coming from Viva, who had kept quite the entire conversation, once Lamashtu finally dissipated, as she was finally able to remove her hand from the bronze disk. She was in relatively fine condition, her artifact having continually replenished her dwindling keep her blood levels, while also keeping her hand from more serious burns.

“So...what did you think of Mother?” Viva would ask as she worked a mix of her own magic and her healing artifact to mend the self-inflicted injuries on the back of her hand, choosing to leave three soft scars as a memento.

For once in her life, Chloe was flustered entirely by Lamashtu.

“K-kids? Pfft, me, a parent, ahaha, that would never...” Still, the idea had a certain...enticing element to it. Not that she ever actually considered the idea before since it wasn't exactly possible with Penny, but...

“Ehe...heh...ahem...” Chloe barely registered Viva's question, but as soon as she realized she needed to reply she held a hand over her mouth and coughed. “Right, aha, sorry...I was...thinking about something.” Right, Lamashtu...she couldn't trust her. No, not with Penny. Not with anything, but she couldn't let a potential enemy away so easily.

“I wasn't joking when I said I'd take her on a date.” She replied, hopping up from her seat and stretching. “I don't think I could ever call her mother without a little...motivation.” Chloe gave Vivia her usual impish smile. “But maybe my little Penny could have an easier time of it.”

Viva allowed herself a soft smile at Chloe’s reaction to Lamashtu’s parting words. Letting the other girl simply work though the thoughts that surely were running through her head, Viva stored away the majority of the supplies back into her hammerspace but took the bowl off to the attached kitchen to rinse it out.

“I doubt she took it as a joke” Viva would reply as she vanished the bowl back into storage as well. “Mum is always willing to get to know her children if she can, and doesn’t mind taking them as lovers on occasion.” She would say sitting back down at her spot at the table and pulling out her partially drunk blood bag from earlier and took a draw from it, savoring the coppery tang.

“When do you think we’d be able to meet up with Penny?” She would ask after a moment, hoping that she wasn’t sounding too impatient.

“Is that so?~” Chloe replied. Well, that would certainly be an interesting little romp. A thought for later. “Tsk, so eager to meet Penny, and here I thought you had a fun time earlier. You certainly sounded like it, fufu.” Chloe teased.

“Ah, I don't know. My little Penny ran off saying something about bringing danger to the shelter if she stayed, hmph.” She replied with a mildly irritated sounding huff. “I understand, but she should take better care of herself, but I suppose that's one of the reasons I like her, heh. So difficult to...love. She'll probably be back here soon enough. She's carrying a little present from me, so she's not in any danger. I could ask her to drop by with a text.” Chloe lazily motioned to a few video games, a TV, and some other stuff that was shoved off to one corner of the room. “An old roommate left them when she left. Wanna do something other than me while we wait?”

Viva would duck her head sheepishly, seems she was being a touch impatient. “Oh, I very much enjoyed my time earlier” She would say unrepentantly. “It’s more I’ve heard so much about her that I’m kinda curious to meet her.” Turning towards the ignored entertainment center off in the corner Viva would nod. “I’d be fine with a move for a bit.” After all it wouldn’t be the best first impression if they were caught in the middle of some more fun.

“Movie, huh? I got some horror flicks around here somewhere.” She said, quickly sending Penny a text to stop back by when she got a second.

“Hey love, come home when you get a chance, someone wants to meet you.”
Chloe

“Any preference?”

“Anything with body horror” Viva would say sliding over to the couch.

Penny paused in her research to glance back at Valerie at the odd comment about liking her enemies well done and grimaced as the realization of what it must look like from the outside smacked upside the head, and if anyone was to have the right to judge Penny on what she was doing it was Valerie.

“Yes I’m Beacon, Spark carrying member in fact.” Penny would start, running a hand down her face as she once again turned over her planned course of action in her mind. “Not like the Ascendency however, not met any of them personally, been out of Penrose for a while due to weird mess with a Patron gone a little crazy. But their records speak for themselves.” With a resigned sigh Penny returned to dismantling and eating Sirkkeli.

There wasn’t much Penny could do other than finish what she started, especially with the reminder that Penrose wasn’t fully home territory at the moment. If she knew she could trust the Ascendency more, or if she had heard back from any of her friends at Beacon it might have been different. But for the moment she was operating solo, and she couldn’t in good conscious let the corrupted remains fall into the wrong hands; which left her with only one option for disposal.

“I’m all for trying to help out getting this mess sorted.” Penny would go on to say “I was on route to one of the lich fights when I got side tracked.” Her voice would continue to sound out even if her mouth was otherwise full, being output via her newfound magic “Glad to hear that those got taken care. That does mean that I need to finish up here before moving on though” At this point Penny had moved on from puzzling out how the other girl was put together and was simply consuming as much as she could.

“Thing is I’m not doing this because I’m hungry, or even because I really want to” Which was true, even the prospect of the upgrades wouldn’t have been enough for Penny to fully cannibalize the corpse if she had other options, especially as most of them she wouldn’t be able to make full use of them. “But I can’t say that I want a few hundred pounds of corrupted scrap laying around for someone else to stumble across, especially with how volatile Penrose has become recently, so I’m taking care of it.” She just hoped that the Shine Spark would be able to handle the influx of corruption without too much trouble.

Meanwhile, as she ate, her left eye was glowing much the same as Valerie’s eyes were. Penny was looking into different things however. She was pouring though the Beacon network now that she was less occupied with fighting off weaklings or her replacement. What she found had her cursing internally, as not only could they track her via the spark, they currently had a lock on her signal. This revelation had her speeding up her disposal operation.

Thankfully, from what she could gather, there wasn’t anyone inbound. That didn’t mean that couldn’t change in a heartbeat however, It also mean that she couldn’t risk going back to the warehouse; it would bring the Ascendency down right on top of everyone there.

‘I need to let Chloe know’ Penny thought she was tempted to just send a text, but she missed Chloe, it was only a couple hours ago that she had confessed to her mischievous friend and she wanted to spend some time with her. ‘Being responsible sucks’

Almost in response to her thoughts a message from Chloe would pop up on her HUD, bringing out a soft smile. “Where were you off too when you stopped to help me out?” Penny would ask. That way she could tell if she had time to pop over to the apartment to see Chloe and whoever it was that wanted to meet with her. “And do you think reinforcements would be helpful?”

Off in the distance, on a nearby building two figures watched the last acts of a brutal show play out. They hadn’t been drawn in by the music, or the chaos of the fight, or even a sense of curiosity. No they were here purely off of luck. Such occurrences were hardly surprising to the two however; their lives seemed to be dominated by the unseen force.

”Ya’ know It’s times like this that I’m really sad we got grounded by that stupid fish” The taller of the two said with a sigh from where she was lounging as they watched the down pour of lightning reduce the stage that had housed the majority of the show to little more than dust.

”That’s not very nice you know” Came the soft spoken reply from the smaller of the two girls, her eyes were glowing with soft inner light as she scanned those below for some unseen unknowable trace that the girls always sought after. Neither of them seemed much invested in the drama that was playing out below them, both watching it with only vague interest.

“Seems we might both be able to give a granting tonight though” Sakura would go on to say after a moment blinking away the glow from her eyes as she turned to her sister.

Violet, rather than replying to her sister, simply rolled off the building. Mid-fall she pushed off the wall and tucked in to a roll just before hitting the ground, gracefully displacing her inertia as she used the momentum to propel herself forward, seamlessly transitioning into walk as she went. Sakura just huffed in exasperation before she followed after in a more mundane fashion, simply jumping from point to point until she too was on ground level.

They didn’t bother to conceal their presence as they approached the small gathering of girls. In fact “Seems like it didn’t take long for things to get interesting here in Penrose again” Violet would cheerfully announce their presence as she nearly sauntered up to them all. Sakura simply maintained her silence as she followed after her more socially capable sister. “and correct me if I'm wrong but someone did just ask for help correct?”

There was a moment of stillness from Penny as she waited to make sure that Sirkkeli was really dead. The confirmation came from the vanishing of the gunk that covered her at which point her hands fell to the ground with as she released a shudder at the sensation of the burning suddenly vanishing. “That we did, thanks for the help” Penny would reply as she stooped down to recover his detached appendages her additional armaments receding as she did so.

“I’m Penny” The Beacon-borg supplied as she looked closer at her now deceased foe. “And I think she was my replacement.” She would answer the question posed to her “Either that or my contemporary from a different planet or something” she went on as she considered what to do next. Her mana was low, but that wasn’t too terrible a situation to be in and her Regeneration was already working on correcting that.

Still there was another option open to her, Penny was just debating the moral implications of it “She’s was a follower of my previous Patron. A God of destruction, pretty sure he’s pissed that I slipped his chains. Not sure if she chose to find me or was ordered to do such however” She went on, before, with a mental shrug, she started to tear the junked bot in front of her into smaller pieces.

Despite the destructive, possibly sacrilegious, act it was obvious that Penny was examining each part she tore off in detail building her own mental blueprint of how the alien insectiod worked. After she was done with her examinations she would then pop the piece of scrap into her mouth and eat it, drawing sustenance from the metal and speeding along her. It also increased her understanding how Sirkkeli was constructed, giving the Purified Monster girl an in depth look into the composition and magical latticework that comprised how to alien girl worked.

“I kinda hope this was a onetime thing, but I wouldn’t be too surprise if it isn’t” Penny didn’t seem to be very concerned with her apparent cannibalism. As to her she wasn’t defiling the core of who Sirkkeli was, that was housed in the soul, and at this point what was left would be picked for scrap by someone eventually so might as well take care of it now.

“What brings you too Penrose, if you don’t mind me asking?”

Aurelio would throw his arm around Serenity’s shoulders to give her a slight shake after she caught up to them “Forget you? Never gonna happen” He would reply jovially still riding the Joy from the outcome of the trial. Beacon under Alicia was going to be fantastic, he could tell. Sadly they still had the Ascendancy to worry about, but hey one thing at a time.

Walking back into the Hall the young magician had to work to keep the ‘I told you so’ out of his smile which was actually made easier by the fact that only one of them seemed to still be holding a grudge. And he still didn’t understand where Rachel was coming from, but perhaps it was something that they would always disagree on.

Still no reason not to try and extend an olive branch “I told you I would help, Rachel” Aurelio would say earnestly as the girl walked away “I intend to keep my word on that.” With that he would reach into his jacket pocket and retrieve the bracelet he had been given by her only a short time ago. “I can’t promise that I will always have it on” He would add as he slipped it on “But while I’m actively working on your request I’ll be sure that you can hear me”

He would then turn to his companions to actually fill them in “What she's means is that before the trial I was informed that there is a Dark magical girl out there going by the name of “Vi-Chan” she’s setting up a ‘rave’” He would say using air quotes “ And that she has invited any and all of the darker persuasion to show up, even let the normal magicals know they can show if they want so long as they don’t start trouble. However the thing is she threatened Beacon, by name, twice. With her ending threat making it seem like she has something planned that will be kicking off soon.”

Aurelio was a glad that there had been a bit of time between showing up to the trial and it starting. It had given him a chance to actually find a mirror of the video the Vi-chan had sent out, and now that he had seen it he had to agree that Rachel was likely correct about it being the beginnings of something bad. It was one of the reasons he was so willing to put on the tracking device right now.

“Unsurprisingly, Elvira didn’t actually say where this gathering is to be taking place just stated that those in the know already knew. I was going to try and find some information about that now that the trial is over with. Possibly meet up with Penny as she might know something due to her status before joining Beacon” He would explain with a shrug, it wasn’t much of a plan true, but at the same time he hadn’t been working on it for very long due to having more important things on his mind.

"You are welcome to tag along if you want" He would offer "I can also delay heading out if you need me fore something else"

Penny could help the victorious grin that spread across her face. It was obvious that Sirkkeli didn’t know Penny as well as the Beacon member had feared, and right now that was going to cost the alien monster girl much more than it was going to cost the native one, for there were several mistakes that Sirkkeli had just performed that spelled the end of this encounter.

The first was assuming that just because she had covered Penny’s eyes that Penny could no longer perceive what was happening around her. This was untrue; because while Penny’s magical talents would never be flashy, when it came to perceptions and other inward focused magic Penny shinned. She could sense all the Metal, Sound and Lightning in the alleyway and that gave her more than enough information to not be truly blind.

The next mistake was assuming that Penny wouldn’t be able to defend herself. As Sirkkeli closed in part of Penny’s chassis would snap open up and a blazing flare of white light would erupt from within the Beacon aligned android as she pushed the Light of her Spark to its absolute limit flooding the space in front of her with pure incorruptible light.

The last mistake was assuming that just because Penny’s hands were trapped that they were inaccessible. With a twist of her arm her left hand would disconnect at the wrist with a metallic click, a length of pristine chain trailing along with the freed arm connecting back to the still stuck hand. In the same instant that she disconnected her arm Penny would once again leap up and over her foe, looping the trailing chain around Sirkkeli as she went.

Once she landed Penny would trigger the winch to pull the chain taunt, bracing the side connected to her hand with two of her remaining spider limbs, hopefully binding Sirkkeli in place just in time for Valerie to dive in with her lightning blade. And just to add some insurance Penny would disconnect her right arm as well, but rather than any chain it just ended in a spike, which she aimed at the back of her captives head.

The sigh of relief that came from Aurelio was a palpable thing. Literally; one could actually feel the Relief rolling off of him. He took a moment to stand off from everyone else as he let himself come down naturally from the emotional high that he was still dealing with, while he was doing so he inspected the glimmering White Coin in his hand.

He didn’t bother to hold back the small laugh that bubble up from the realization that it was from a prior trial that he had been a part of that the sentence for this trial came through. He already knew what it was that he was going to put this coin to use for as well, which also answered for him what he was going to do with his Ruby coin as well.

A simple sleight of hand brought the extra coin to his palm as well, and a moment later both coins would vanish in muted flashes. Aurelio had no desire to bring much attention to himself at the moment after all, and with a simple nod to himself he moved back to his friends.

“Hey! You try being plugged into that and not showing off” The young mage would say gesturing at what remained of the crowed that had overseen the trial. Before he pulled a handkerchief out of nowhere and dried off his tears. “I promise you it was a lot more intense then you might have expected.” He would grump a bit before breaking out in a wide smile “Worth it though, as it all ended well.”

He would seemingly conjure a few more handkerchiefs, offering them to the other ladies of the group, as well as giving Sally a quick hug, before agreeing with Alicia. “You’ve got a point there. Wonder if they have a mission for us now that you’ve gotten a promotion?” He would wonder aloud as he walked along with them towards the Hall of Luminous Valor.

@Ariamis@Asuras

Rather than being intimidated by Leena’s crazed, blood stained appearance, Viva had to fight down something of a blush, because for someone of her warped temperament and preferences, it was both appetizing and somewhat arousing. Thankful, for all parties involved really, chaos descended upon them once again in very short order.

A moment behind FanFan, Viva also sprung into motion however in-between one step and the next the roar of a motorcycle engine split the air as Viva once again mounted her precious bike. Rather continuing in her original direction she instead began a rolling burnout, her revolver began once again barking out its loud retorts. Yet none of her rounds were aimed at any of the Beacon members, each round was launched out towards one of the numerous crazed Feral clones that surged in once the Null field had fallen.

After completing one full rotation Viva released the brakes and blitzed past the Beacon members. On her way past she would reach out to grab onto the Endsingers’s now motionless corpse, storing it into her Hammerspace just before a translucent ramp would materialize to once again send her skyward. Once in the air she would continue to rain down a fire at the wolven foes below her, as a shimmering roadway would appear underneath the tires before twisting out and leveling off to keep Viva and her bikefar above any of the rabble below.

“It’s not nice to threaten a girl with a good time!” She would yell out teasingly, her statement punctuated with a couple more rounds of gun fire Next time I might just take you off on that offer Braces!” Without waiting for a reply there would be another rev of her bike as Viva speed off into Penrose.

This has me wanting Viva to snag the guitar on her way out as well, but something tells me that she'd only be able to nab one thing as she zooms by and her first priority wouldn't be the guitar.

“Ha! Now who’s being blasphemous?” Penny would yell as she rushed forward to continue her attack, seemingly uncaring of the corrosive blight that Sirkkeli’s blades carried “The ass is the Unmaker! It is anathema for him to create!” Her anger at Laat was clear to see in her face even as her assault maintained the same efficient brutality as always “And even if what you said was true he’s still a royal bastard! He drafted me into this life style without any warning and then left me stranded with nothing for months! He has never cared about me!”

“System alert. D̷͞҉͏̡è̛͘҉̕s҉̶̛̛҉t́̀͘͢͜r̡ứ̧ć̸t̶̡̨͟į̛ơ̶͜͡͝n͏̡̛ ̴̵̛͞E͏̨ņ͏ģ́̕͠҉i̡͞͏̸͠n̴̢͠͝e͏̧̀ has reached 25%”

Without warning Penny’s spider like limbs would unfurl themselves alongside her hover systems kicking on once again amping her assaults intensity becoming a truly ferocious offensive of eight limbs working in sync with mechanical precision. Her reasoning for continuing the all-out offensive was simple; if each strike poisoned her she would lose in a battle of attrition. Even with her ideas of how to discard the contaminated metal it would still end up with her losing out in the long run. That just left her with one outcome; Crush her opposition before she was overwhelmed.

She could do that, easily, all Penny needed was to grab Sirkkeli or stun her for a moment. Then the power that she had been granted by Laat himself would bring about the conclusion to this battle, and unlike so many of her battles before, Penny would have no qualms about using it if the opportunity arose.

"Look out!"

Dodging out of the way of the incoming lightning spell, Penny fired off a round of her gauss system in tandem to it before once again diving into the fray. As she did the normally red glow of her eyes would start to be replaced with an intense white.

Off in the stands, even further out of mind then he had been a few moments ago, Aurelio struggled to maintain his composure. That wasn’t to say he wasn’t crying at the beauty that was being displayed before him or that he was un-touched by the sense of joy and resolution that filled the hall. It was in fact just the opposite.

He had tied himself into the emotions of the hall in a desperate bid to try and assist his friends, and act that had turned out to be unneeded thankfully. But now it was that act that was nearly causing him to come unraveled at the seams, as he fought desperately to not drown in the emotional storm or worse start feeding into this monumental moment and cause a feedback loop that would likely end him.

All was not lost however, for if there was ever a time that Aurelio’s skill with positive emotions came in handy it was for sure this one. With the same care that he wove himself into the room he would start to withdraw from it and as he did he let this life changing event flush all, but the most precious of his stored emotions, away. Cleaning out the Frustration and Hate that he had gathered and kept locked away in case he needed them and allowing the Compassion, Love, and Wonder to settle in their place.

Quietly he brought his Spark to the surface and, once he was sure that he had extracted himself enough from to the room to be sure of himself, moved to stand. “We are Beacon!” He would shout from the stands “We stand united! Together through adversity we are the light that shines forever more to chase away the darkness and all the ills that it houses! And I see no darkness within these walls, least of all those that are being accused, they have risked more than any to try and bring the light of hope to those who need it the most!” He was openly crying as she shouted his words for while he could keep himself from being lost to the storm of emotions that didn’t mean he wasn’t still caught up in them.

“ So I stand with the Seraph! Any judgment you pronounce on you give to me!” Aurelio took a moment to breath and to try and gain some semblance of control over his emotions before he spoke aloud once more, albeit more calmly then before “Because I am Beacon, and I will not let them stand apart any longer” Still openly crying, but with his head held high, he strode down to stand with Alicia and Serenity, the raw conviction on his face nearly daring someone to question him on his actions.

A moan of delight was released as the deranged girl reveled in the exquisite taste of her new meal. The fact that she was mere inches from several life threatening attacks being over looked in her ravenous haze. It would be a few more mouthfuls of the wondrous meal before Viva was once again able to think with any degree of clarity, for while her hunger was far from sated, the high quality food was able to fulfill the requirements of the curse she had placed upon herself.

Thankfully this clarity came just in time, as not a moment later she was forced to dive backwards to avoid the final part of Dawn's slash before it succeeded in separating her head as well. Still it was an inelegant dodge that left her sprawled out across the ruined stage. It took all of a second for her too realize that her situation had went from bad to worse. There were three Beacon members effectively surrounding her, and she knew they were Beacon from the aura of Purification that their Sparks gave off, and all of the seemed to be melee combatants from what she could tell.

Normally she might have been able to get away with hiding her status as a dark magical. After all she normally fought at range and could come in afterwards and offer healing assistance, either via her Specialization or her Artifact. Now however? With her face covered in blackened gore from tearing off chunks of the Endsinger’s flesh, with her mouth still a twisted mockery of fangs that drooled acid?

“Shite…” she would mutter as her eyes flicked between the three who had been temporary allies and the corpse. A subtle attempt to summon her bike just reinforced that this was a bad situation as she felt the magic being cancelled out. Slowly, carefully, she stood back up sadly a few steps away from the wondrous meal, before running her free hand across her face both cleaning it of gore while also removing her monstrous alterations.

“Don’t suppose we could all simply just go our separate ways now?” Viva would ask cautiously, ready to bolt the instant one of them turned actively hostile. She highly doubted that anyone of them would agree, Beacon was never tolerant of outsiders corrupted ones least of all, but getting into a fight with three of them wasn’t on Vivian’s to-do list for today.

A glance over her shoulder informed her that simply legging it wouldn’t be very easy either, not if the crazed wolf looking things were as hostile as she expected.
‘And I was told that my luck was going to be good today too’

Despite her strikes being so easily deflected Penny was smiling, revealing her rows of razor sharp teeth. While she would have loved it if her attack had ended the fight right away, she had doubted from the start that this would be over quickly and despite scoring only glancing blows she still gained in the end for with each ringing strike she would gain a flash of insight into the inner working of her replacement for the echoing vibrations that lingered with each clash spoke loudly to the Purified gynoid.

“And I would do it all again!” Penny roared in reply as she ducked in and under the backhand “I was little more than a pawn to that Jackass! Nothing more than a tin solider to be tossed around at his leisure and then abandoned when he was done, left to try and salvage what I could out of whatever mess he forced me into.” Even as she yelled she continued her assault, each punch thrown harder and faster than the last as Penny quickly ramped up to her full speed and power.

But that didn’t mean she was going all-out just yet.

At some point in her assault a matte, onyx, coloration would start to darken Penny’s armor and as it did her blows would become heavier, but that was only a side effect. “Titan’s Raiment: Online.” It was in truth indicative of the skill she stole from Elroy; the secret of locking away her metal for anyone but her, mixed in with her personal optimization, and this was only phase one in her plan. If this imposter wanted to claim that Penny had stagnated? Fine, but Penny was going to enjoy forcing the truth down her throat in retaliation.

@ERode

The snarled curse that spilled from Viva’s lips from her attack being intercepted by a third party went unheard in the sea of sound and she was moving closer to the Endsinger before the full ramifications could be seen.

For in truth Viva didn’t care about the Ascendency girl that she had disarmed, didn’t care about the rampaging clones, didn’t care about the danger that surrounded them all. She was hungry, and by her own action that was all she could focus on. The black hunger that churned within her, that swelled at the sight of the putrefied flesh being splattered everywhere.

Because of that twisted drive she hardly noticed it when she walked into the sphere of nullification, too deep into her desire to be so easily pulled form it, hardly noticed to deep kiss that the Endsiger had pulled Leena into or the blades that were currently sticking through her undead flesh.

All she could see was the taunt lines of muscle on the Endsingers neck that called to her. She wiped a hand across her mouth to clean away the drool at such a feast being displayed to her and as she did such her veins would pulse with corrupted magics twisting her jaws into a monstrous mockery, filled with serrated fangs and caustic spittle.

Without any preamble she launched herself at her meal. Her gun was held at the side, ready to open fire on anyone who tried to interrupt her meal. or even her meal itself if it tried to fight back.

Off in the stands Aurelio was doing his best to stay still. The emotions in the hall were as charged as they ever were within these halls. Yet he knew that there wasn’t much that he could do. He could be something of a character witness if either side needed him to be, but his overall time spent with either Alicia or Penny was limited, but that was really the extent of his usefulness within this trial. He hadn’t been around for any of the inciting incidents that were being thrown around.

It was interesting to hear some of the topics that were brought up, and were it not such a tense situation he would have more than likely already asked a few questions or even tossed in his two bronze on the topic. He just hoped that he would still have the chance to do that later, the emotions in the air coming from Rachel gave him reason enough to believe that she would be doing everything in her power to get a guilty verdict, even if that meant twisting the rules.

That was something that he might be able to help out with however. So in the interest of keeping this trial as clean as it could be, Aurelio very slowly and very, very, carefully started weaving his presence into the emotions throughout the room. It wasn’t a spell in a true sense, it wasn’t even something he would be able to explain with any clarity to anyone outside other Empathy mages, but it would allow him much greater acuity into the emotions that people were giving off.

He made sure that his cane was dismissed before he start this delicate process as well, no need to bring attention to himself by it starting to glow and in the long run he wasn’t even sure that anything would come of it. He just needed to be doing something.

Before the utterly alien looking girl ever spoke Penny was on edge. Something about the other girl triggered a feeling of unease within the normally laid back robotic girl. It felt like she was looking in a broken mirror, one that magnified her own perceived flaws. Plus there was something that she could not put to words that had her hackles rising.

Then the robotic insectoid spoke, and the mystery was shattered. For in a way Penny was looking at a broken mirror, a reflection of what it was that she had felt Laat had turned her into, and all it took was hearing her old Patron’s name for her to know that this was a fight where only one of them was going to be walking away.

The soft clicks of her hidden limbs releasing there restraints, was hidden by her opponents short declaration, as was the sound of a metal latch being thrown, and the soft hum of her Gauss system powering up. In fact the only sound that came from Penny that could be heard was the revving from the chain blade in her arm that flared to life as she raced her replacement.

And thankfully for the Beacon based monster girl, her chainsaw’s rev is also what kept her from being surprised by the sudden inclusion of a third member to this grudge match. For the kinetic waves of sound it released paired beautifully with her new Specialization, granting her a near perfect understanding of where everything in this alleyway was.

Because of that Penny didn’t falter in her charge when Valerie appeared to block the incoming sword swing, and instead just continued on, flowing up and over her newfound ally, as she sought to pin the Alien girl between them, raining down a barrage of strikes on the interlopers as she went.

Viva staggered to her knees as she felt the full fell might of the lich’s magic pressing down on her mind. She struggled to keep her thoughts amidst the roaring riffs that rung in her mind that sought to drown her in the rhythm and tempo of someone else tune. Try as she might to summon up her anger or focus it continued to simply scatter in the face of the psychic onslaught.

She was nearly lost to the music’s sway as she brought her hands to her head. As she grit her teeth in a desperate attempt to maintain control, she found salvation. Not from the pressure or pain that the act caused but from the blood that it brushed against her tongue, blood that sparked a single to run through her mind.

'I'm Hungry'

Latching upon that moment of clarity she unwound the curse in her hand, lessening it from a mindless frenzy to an amplification of desire at let it overcome her. Seeking refuge from outside influence inside her own insanity. The look of anger bled away and was replaced with one of manic hunger, as she began to see Endsinger as nothing more than a meal waiting to be consumed.

A glass beaker would appear in her off hand filled with a clear substance, a wave of her corrupted magic would engulf it, blackening the glass and changing the liquid to a violent, hissing, green sludge. A moment later and she threw it at the musical lich.

Her gun would let out another retort a moment later, this time aimed at the glass projectile. As she was under no delusion that her throw beaker would hit, but shattering it midair to spray the corrupted acid everywhere? That was much more likely to cause some damage, and besides she liked her food spicy.
Random assortment of potential ideas.

Hard angle turns for in flight spells. Delayed activation on spells. Aura's that either buff or damage. Projectiles that can only contact the target and just phase though everything else. Non-visible light spectrum access? Manipulation of ambient light sources. Light based pseudo-clones.

Avenues of thought; You can either play up the Light = Holy aspect, or you can mess around with light as a particle/wave formation.
