Soul Society is currently experiencing a shortage of Shinigami after a particularly bloody civil war known as the Soul War. Leaving it with an entirely different government from the old Gotei 13, now ruled by the 5 Commissions under the Soul Shogun.

You are a human in the world of the living from the small town of Sagamiyama, and after a fatal experience that would result in losing your life, your potential was recognised. In exchange for a second chance at life, you would be in service of Soul Society as a substitute Shinigami.

At the same time, there has been a rise in Hollow activity in Sagamiyama, requiring your service as a Shinigami to ensure these Hollows do not hunt down the residents of your home.

Everything here is still subject to change

Somewhat interested but funnily enough this sounds more like a Monster Hunter RP going to new unexplored lands and all that.

Anyhow there's nothing like good ol' colonialism. Where's the completed info on the nations though?

~Fortuna City~

@Urizen

A thick fog pervaded over the old city, architecture from centuries past, classical and beauteous, carved out by skilled artisans of unknown origin. Statues of strange and unusual figures decorated the front of many large buildings and the streets were quiet as they always were, even with so many people walking about. This tucked away city held secrets going back even before its own founding, and with each passing night those secrets would be peeled away by it's blasphemous residents, and then washed to ash by the cleansing fire.

The sound of the church doors swinging wide open would bring all within to pay attention to the invader and interloper. What appeared to be a convent would turn their heads to him, and a priest of foreboding presence at the far end. Their eyes rested on the man in the black coat, with silver hair reflecting the dim sunlight of the outside world as the sun began to set, and eyes that hid a true nature.

"Who are you to disturb my sermon?" It was clear they didn't know who he was, but of course, he knew who they were.

"Ahhh, to be honest I've been hearing you guys coming here every week you know? I was too shy to join you guys, but today I've mustered up the courage, if I could have a seat for today?", his mannerism was affable, yet there was a veneer of condescension. He shrugged his shoulders as if shaking off the stiff tension of the situation. Of course, he knew what he was saying, this was not any normal convent and gathering... Every one of these people here were getting ready to brandish weapons and magic, the moment they heard him say he had been hearing them here every week.

"Every...?!" The words connected in the priest's mind, a blast of dark demonic magic flew from their hand. Cleanly it appeared to strike this mysterious newcomer, but as the attack cleared, the man still stood there, unaffected. A mysterious inky darkness disappearing from around him as the smoke cleared. A devilish smile forming. The entire convent was now getting up, brandishing weapons, some of them showing strange symptoms or exhibiting unusual appearances. The priest himself began to break out of his clothes as a black furred form began to take shape, wings of velvet and horns, a classical demon one might find on the front lines.

"I know not who you are, but you are a fool to have revealed yourself like this, we shall wi-...! Huh?" A single flash of black, like taking a freshly inked brush and doing one stroke across a canvas. The eyes of the ill-fated demon rested upon the man again, a black inky scythe in his hand.

"When did you...!?"

"Sorry, I'd let you finish, but it looked like you might make things messy. But don't worry, your precious convent is in good hands", the demon unable to utter yet another coherent word gargled and roared until he was nothing but dust and darkness. The attendees of this convent looked from their priest to the man at the door, fear rippled through their bodies.

"Don't even think about a change of heart, everyone here's gotta die. Loose ends and all that", and with little ceremony the closest few were cut down by a thin black blade, appearing only a moment, spattering blood to the next in line as they fell to the floor. Two small silver blades glinted from his hands as he got to work.

Hours later...

A scene of carnage sat before the small cloaked man, his eyes wide in shock, and then very quickly followed by fear. His eyes followed the blood and corpses, the destroyed benches, all mixed with empty cloaks and clothes and weapons, cheap and otherwise, as well as the signs of magic being used through marks along the walls and floorboards. Sat upon the altar where the priest used to... Exist... Was Reuel himself, despite the handiwork and bloody result, he appeared completely untouched, as if he had just appeared here among the carnage after the fact.

"Well, took you long enough, I had to entertain myself for a little while...", he dusted himself off and stood up, walking towards him.

"Of course, so long as your family is not involved in this cult, they are safe from me too... Well, now that you've seen this you know it's time right?" His tone was mildly threatening, the condition of their cooperation. He had something on all of his informants that let him bend them just a little. This man was but one.

"Y-yes... Mr Specter... ", he seemed to shrink away but it seemed to simply be his nature. This was Reuel's informant... Or at least, one of them. He has a couple others, but this one seemed to be the most reliable in the movements of the cult leader, and that was exactly why he had contacted him today.

"Very well, then go about your day as normal. When you see your great leader, simply activate this... And then run", he handed the man a small satchel, containing a bunch of what appeared to be silver marbles. "Crush it in your hand and drop it, it will emit a unique smoke... Everything else is out of your hands", he pat the man on the shoulder before walking out, this church was hidden in the hills just within the city's perimeter, and so the view of the city of Fortuna lay before him. The sun was rising, and by next sunset there would not be a single KKK member alive.
Reuel Ashcroft

By the time everyone had arrived to the meeting table, Reuel was already present, a rare sight, he was usually the last one to appear seemingly without a trail behind him, or indication of what route he used to get there. When everyone got themselves comfortable, and Azuria was talking, he crossed his arms and rubbed his chin as he listened on. Despite what she had said about the KKK, and asking him to probe, he had long since been looking into them out of interest. He suspected something strange about them, and recent events demanded further attention, he almost smiled when he learned about their bold antics recently,

"Consider it done, or rather... It is done. I've known about them for awhile, recent events have only confirmed some of my suspicions", though shortly after his response the guild master would be on her knees, coughing up blood. Most would react quite strongly or with concern, but Reuel stayed sat back in his chair with little reaction, while the others might help her,

"Cutting it a little close this time I see, perhaps you had better take it a little easier", he advised, leaning forward onto the meeting table. The meeting resumed, or rather was coming to a conclusion as she was dismissing the meeting. He had no questions, he knew what this meant. It may be necessary to do some 'cleaning up' as it were, in regards to the KKK. Once he got the information he needed, he could go ahead and do the rest to his discretion.

"No questions from me, you can expect a report on the KKK very soon... And then I'll get to work", he slowly got up and along with everyone else, left the meeting room.

Reuel Ashcroft
X-769(?)-???-???-24(?) | Fenix Tear | Rank S

Identity
Reuel is known in only name by many of the guild, the mysterious S rank who is always away on a mission of some kind. Once in a blue moon he does appear, and by the accounts of those who have had brief encounters with him, he's a polite and well-spoken man, dressed surprisingly well for someone who is out so often. Others think he is hiding something, an enigmatic air about him, though that is often expected as he is hardly around. Most unexpectedly, he doesn't appear particularly powerful for an S rank and as he might say, he is the weakest of the guild's S rank mages.

He portrays an air of affability and refinement, often trying to sort things out through words. It often appears hard to discern what he is thinking, though it seems he has the guild's best interests in mind, often referring to what might be best for the guild. To some he appears to be some sort of secret treasurer, to others he could be a mediator, and yet others think he could be an intel agent for the guild. Whatever it may be, one thing is sure and it's that he is a member of the guild.

Fairytale

The past of Reuel Ashcroft is shrouded in mystery, though a few things are known. He is a member of the Ashcroft family as it's true and sole heir, a family that had long since been believed to be wiped out almost a decade ago until he was found as a child. He's known as a skilled artisan, having made and designed magical equipment for Pergrande's military as well as commission pieces for members of the guild, or those who pay. It's believed that these skills are the sole reason he has earned the rank of S. Finally, that he was one of the oldest members of Fenix Tear, the details of which are unclear, some say he was a magic knight, others say he was a member of a dark guild prior, and some theorize he was a former Roundtable Knight which was the most outlandish, however the only thing that was certain was that he was among the founding members.

Currently he holds an office in the same city as the guild hall which also works as a workshop. The few guild members who wind up stopping by quickly learn he's a magical artisan of sorts, and others might have the impression he disappears for long stretches of time to find information for the guild, or materials for some of his crafts. Virtually no one has seen him fight, so it's not unusual for guild members to be surprised to learn of his rank. For the time being he seems to return to the guild every so often to keep members apprised of situations.

Magic Eater
A magic made to eat magic, able to remove the effects of magic of certain levels of strength. The magic can be channeled through objects, giving the property to anything being wielded, but can also create pitch black objects which hold the property in greater strength. It can also be done on touch, and can create a black veil that is impervious to most magic. It has the main flaw of only removing magic and magical effects, meaning anything physical that isn't tied to magic will remain and can still threaten the user.

My CS will probably be awhile but I'm here.
Just a bump. We are still recruiting.
Day 1

The High Table. A powerful, shadowy council that stood at the heart of the underworld throughout the globe, consisting of 12 members, each representing a major crime faction; the Yakuza, the Sicillian mafia, Mexican cartels, the Triads, Russian mafia, warlords of the Carribean... Not every underworld faction has a seat here, and not every needs one to participate in this society, but a seat at this table grants unimaginable influence and power. One could topple nations and move capital at a single call, influence and control world leaders with only a tiny thinly veiled threat, or on the other hand, endorse something to which they support, and ensure it's success. Of course, the power of the High Table is highly guarded, just as much as it is coveted, and so members who already have their seat, jealously hold onto it, passing the position down only to their most trusted of successors. It isn't at all rare for succession to be upturned by a more power hungry candidate when the time comes to pass it, but for a seat to remain open with no successor? Such a thing is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The news spread like wildfire among the underworld, and as hard as the Geverran family tried to hide it, their head and High Table member, Ariani Geverran, had died, leaving no named successor to the disdain of the family's leading members. The spies of major factions all over had already begun to inform their leaders of this news, and just as quickly these factions began to act to it. Eliminating their immediate rivals and acquiring their influence as quickly as possible, to afford them the best chance to be picked for their position on the High Table.

For those who were not in the know, it was perhaps a sudden and fatal shock that they were killed by a powerful rival, or a surprise that they be deployed as soon as possible with little warning for fanfare. But, the opportunity to take this to a fight when political maneuvering was so common today was the excitement many of these underworld types craved.

However those who craved that high power within the underworld were already on the move, barely an hour from hearing the news, drastic moves were already being taken. The Vellum Society who specialize in information were naturally the first to make a move, where outright assassination was a second option, they have moved it to the first if it puts them closer to being chosen. The Gunners 606 who are a relatively new contender in the underworld have quickly made themselves a name as a highly efficient and small group of special ops, a skillset that was rare even among assassins and hitmen. Recently separating from the Triad, the Xuanlong Group having taken control of South Korea seeks to further their influence, their sudden meteoric rise and defiance of the Triad they had come from making them very popular among the new blood of the underworld. Then, there is the Gensai Clan, a Yakuza group older than the Yamagawas, and almost as powerful, see this as an opportunity to be able to stand toe to toe with them in more than just their numbers.

The agents of these groups have already been deployed, and their deadly work is about to begin.
