Current Cleaning day! Made a ton of progress and even found my long lost DS and my missing laundry card that still has a lot of credits on it. Found it in my winter coat of all places go figure.

Finally got into D&D. Now I feel trapped and I am in love. Should I ask for help or ask where I can get more dice?

Breaks ups are weird. Not sure how to feel about the other person, or about yourself. It hurts for sure, but it's weird and uncomfortable just how different things seem now.

Manny was thankful for Thana's experience with the place. Even if she didn't know them well, she more or less knew everyone in the area and was able to help Manny get things started. When he noticed the nod from Ash, Manny gave a respectful nod back. Thana seemed to know him pretty well from before the Team Eden group formed. Or at the very least before he joined it. He also suspected he knew Thana an much closer terms then she was with many members of Team Eden. Manny thought it was nice to see people getting together like that. For many that is something hard to do, start a new life on such a personal level after the world had seen so many hardships. Even Manny had gotten that chance, no matter how brief it was. It for him was a sure sign that things were getting better, it meant that people had hope for the future.

Though the music playing wasn't much of Manny's taste, it was his first live concert of any sorts in more years then he could count. So he would keep those thoughts to himself. Plus, it's not like he hated the music, but he definitely would have picked classic rock over this. Maybe some Credence. But that didn't change the fact that today was overall going pretty well. When the new roommates were pointed out to Alexander and Manny the old dentist took it as a good chance to move on. Alexander was already on his way off when Manny got the thought in his head to do the same. "We'll leave you two love birds to it. Last thing you need are some old men getting in the way." He followed Alexander again.

"You're right, I don't see the point is clogging up the work front here. They are very strict about getting things done." He respected that in many ways, Manny had to work hard for the things he had in his life one way or another. Though some more honest then others. So meeting up with Shears did definitely seem like a better start. Goat would be back at their place eventually.

Alexander got the greetings started relatively fast, taking note of the other two girls as well. Both from Quarantine. Manny wished he had taken better efforts to learn everyone's names, but again, Alexander had things under control. "Ladies." He tried to speak in his most polite tone. He wasn't sure if there was a term that younger generations used to interact with others. So he was just going for general politeness. Plus, an old man trying to sound young and cool was more sad then anything else. His uncle had tried that from time to time. It was a funny sight at the time, but Manny wasn't in the mood to be in the center of that joke. "Shears, if you don't mind me asking, are you exclusively a barber? Or do you work around in other tasks?" He was just curious as to what life styles would be like in here. It seemed like a pretty passive job, though one that took skill that Manny wasn't sure many had at the moment. But he wondered how much of a demand there could be for one?

Hunter wasn't going to lie, now that he had Izibel back, he was starting to warm up to this place. For him, until he saw that she was safe, words alone weren't enough. But seeing that she was safe, that she was happy, and that other then some suspicious dude named Felix things were okay, that had built a lot of trust for the otherwise skeptical boy. "This Felix dude seems odd. But I'll take your word for it." This also is one of the first times he has admitted to any kind of trust without blatant skepticism. Sure there was some there, but as Hunter's humor is sketchy at best, it could be chalked up to that. He eventually got the 105lbs mass of muscle fur and love off him and accepted the tiny baggies. "Is this another stockpiled thing or does someone really have the job "To be, Bags of shit" for making ends meet?" He guessed stockpiled, figured wasn't too hard to find the things, and not like there was a huge demand nowadays.

He was showed a semi decent walking area, and the cans to drop the shit in. A literal shitty job for whoever had to do that. Though with his luck he figured it would be his first job while on duty. Not that he minded. He played with animals growing up, and he probably smelled worse coming in. "The beach party should be interesting. Shame this love bug can't come. She'd probably enjoy it more then I would. Unless this Felix guy was there. Then probably not." Was it a bit over the top putting so much faith in a dog's trust? Yes. Would that stop Hunter? No. "Oh, one thing I would recommend, a recent addition to the Camp Armory, an old Ithaca 500. If you get the chance to use it in training I would recommend it. The slam fire on that thing is so... Perfect. And a classic gun too. No idea what is available here in terms of chokes or ammo, but if a proper non sawed off barrel can be attached, and a decent duckbill choke assuming any are left in the world, that fucker can hold any hallway against any number of dead fucks. Assuming the buckshot is decent." Many conditions dependent on one another, to make an improbable situation work. "Or just fuck around with the slam fire function. Others here probably have it too, but a classic Ithaca does wonders."

After a bit Hunter looked at his girl. The dog that had helped keep him sane through the last few months. She was safe here, for all intents and purposes, she was safe. Sure, this place seemed... Surreal to him. Too good to be true. But, worth a shot he guessed. "Still no idea what to do for a date, but maybe it's time to take Izibel home, and we can go check out that beach party. Never been to a beach before. Not a real one at least." Living inland most of his life he didn't have the chance to go much when he was growing up before shit hit the fan, and afterwards, the biggest population centers were on the coast. Even in his most extreme moments of life, it was too big of a risk to try and see the ocean. The few times he did, it had been some old worn pier, or from such a distance that it was hard to figure out where land and water met.

Alexander had brought up a few good points about his idea. "Yeah, not really the logistical type. That fell to others for me as I went through life." Sure the supplies were here now, but for now there was no need to expand outwards, create a world where walls weren't needed to survive. And maybe they weren't now, but there wasn't a need to go through the effort and the risk. Sure, Manny thought it was a cool idea, and maybe it was apart of him that wanted the ability to walk and see the world without feeling restricted to these few streets. Maybe it was apart of him fearing his old age catching up to him and wanting to do something great with his life. He wasn't sure, but the idea was cool in his head none the less, even if not likely.

Walking to the beach was a nice sight. Manny had seen the beach through most of his life, even his later years were packed with it. But seeing it now, as if things were more or less back to normal. It was... An amazing sight. Before he really got the chance to take in the sights, he noticed Alexander making his way over to the bar. Manny followed and quickly noticed Thana as well as the Captain who seemed to be in a relationship with her. Everything felt so... peaceful. Alexander gave thanks for everything that Thana has done for them. Manny for a moment felt bad about how he felt when she went missing. "Thank you as well. Things could have been a lot worse otherwise." For the moment, Manny let Alexander do the talking. Which he found a funny reversal of roles as Manny tended to be the talker in most situations. while Alexander observed and learned. "DO you know anything that we should know about them?" He said with a small grin on his face. He was interested to know more about people, but he found some heads up always helped a little.

Hunter was a bit surprised to see she wasn't interested in what he offered. But he didn't blame her, if she was training like this regularly then it made sense. Hunter probably enjoyed fighting more then most people should. "Not sure what to tell you about a date then. I still have no idea what is and isn't allowed in here. Or what is available." Hunter would hold off on repeating his feelings about the restrictions of the place. Again. He was very surprised to hear about Izibel. The cat made sense, Cat's were evil yet very cute creatures. But the person? That seemed weird to Hunter. Felix was his name. "She really acted like that? The only time I have heard her bark was when a group of Roamers got a bit close to us. And even then, most the time she just growls. Damn. Unless he walks with the dead a lot by wearing their goop then I can't think of why she would act like that... That is... really weird." He was genuinely puzzled by this. But with that in mind, he didn't really see a lot of people after he found Izibel.

Walking into the Vet he heard the voice of Sheryl calling out from another room. He didn't take too much note until Nikki gave him papers to fill out. "So much paper here..." He signed away though filling out all the information as he went. When he was given the leash he smiled like a little boy on Christmas. Walking to Izibel he gave the biggest smile he had shown since he arrived at this new place. "IZIBEL!!!" He shouted with the glee of a little kid. Once leashed he hugged her for a brief moment before the heavier dog knocked him over and started licking his face as if recapping the events of the last week in the form of licks. "Back off you crazy girl I can't breath!" He said joyfullly as his big ball of muscle and fur was showing her affection to her human.

When the pully kisses were done he stood up and held the leash. "Yeah! Lets go on a walk! Because someone has been a good girl and should go have fun!" He would follow Nikki as she probably knew the places she could go off the top of her head where he didn't really.

Manny enjoyed his time with Alexander. It was nice to have someone calmly to talk to who he had been able to share struggles with for the better part of the last few months. Even though he was sure that he could get along with people here well enough, there was something about surviving with others and learning to deal with struggles with them that helped build solid relationships. He was also glad to see the old vet was enjoying his humor. Manny was no practical joker, but he did enjoy a good joke every now and again. "Mixed bag here as well. Have had people who have been very polite and respectable, but complete and selfish jackasses, and I have met people who are ill-mannered, and yet very polite." Funny how life did that sometimes. The worst people many times seemed nice for a while, and vice versa. Though he didn't expect anyone here to be like that, it was an interesting thought none the less.

When talk moved onto the settlements again he could understand Alexander's point well enough. "I see your point there. But if there are other communities, what if there are ways to improve things even here? Sure the people here have things more or less figured out, but they are extremely restricted to this space. What if there was a way to expand things out without building the great wall of Florida through the state? SO that future generations could have a world to explore?" Manny had some small ideas in his head, but he lacked the military know how for making them work, and the logistical mindset as well. But he would love to see a day that people could walk the streets outside of walls again, and still feel safe. Use these communities they have now as a last resort rather then a standard of living. Who knows, maybe it's impossible for at least another couple generations.

The loud speakers went off surprising Manny at first, but he was more impressed then anything else. His last community tries something similar once, but after fear of it drawing walkers the project was dropped. He also took note that Alexander seemed to be getting used to his leg better. That was nice to see as well. Alexander struggled for the longest time when his leg had to get removed, even with what was put together in recent months he still struggled. It was nice to see him getting used to walking properly again.

Hunter decided that this girl was interesting, and maybe a start to getting used to people again. He would be slow to open up still despite the occasional weak moments. But she seemed like a good start. He could understand the problem of doing the same thing over and over again every day. Even in isolation here that was a bit much for Hunter. At least int he army when that was going on there was a challenge he was aiming to beat. And while on the road he normally knew where to look to find more ammo then he could carry on his own, and put it all to good use. "If you want an original date try something in terms of learning. Handling different types of guns, hand to hand combat, how to take down an opponent twice your size. All the good stuff. Though if they are wearing body armor that is harder. But all armor has it weak points." It was a fun thing for Hunter at least. Knowing how to take down any person who wanted to try and stop him. But people needed at least some strength to be able to do that. He was still rather weak from starving to near death. Better, sure, but still weak.

He appreciated Nikki listening to him about his trust issues. The cannibal issues, the death issues, all of it. He opened his mouth to add about his other worried about this place, but he held off on that for now. Last thing she needed to hear was about his paranoid ramblings on what could be wrong with this place. About how there are worse things then being killed, or eaten. There were much worse things that could be happening. Though those thoughts were distracted by how Izibell trusts the people here. "Izibell trusts everyone, she's kind of a jerk that way. Someone could be hacking my arm off and she would go to that same person for a belly rub that whore." He laughed as he spoke. Rottweilers were amazing dogs, trustworthy, protective, but total attention whores. But the fact that she seemed to like it here was something. So why not give it a shot.

Hunter fumbled for a bit when the speakers went off. It was such a surprise for him that he found himself reaching over his shoulder for where his sawed off shotgun use to be, pumped and ready to fire. He stopped about as quickly as the reaction kicked in once he realized what it was. An announcement that the beach was opening up. He slowly pulled his arms back to his side. Loud speakers were not something he expected here. But he wasn't really sure what he expected so anything was fair game. "Parties, huh." Hunter hadn't been to many parties growing up. He went to prom once. Nothing memorable though. "Hell Yes I am ready to see Izibell!" His smile showed this time. "Let's get going then."

The conversation was pretty simple yet sweet. "Thank you for that, but it's not hard to be the best when you're probably the only one on this side of the States. But the compliment is nice none the less." Manny was just poking some fun at his fellow baby boomer. He appreciated the compliment very much so, but a little humor was a good way to help conversations move smoothly. "Would be nice to get to know out room mates. I bet they're pretty decent people." Manny has had mixed experiences with fellow baby boomers, most were pretty decent, and even though he only got a couple glimpses of their new roommates, he still wanted to get to know them better before giving them any real criticism. Plus he was pretty sure one wasn't a baby boomer at all. Time would tell though, and a beach party seemed as good a way as any to get to know people.

When Alexander gave the motion to leave Manny seconded it with with a nod. First dropping off his dishes and then following Alexander out of the seating area. "They said on the tour that there were other settlements in the area, you think we'll get a chance to see those someday? Or do you think that is a total restriction thing for only the security force here?" He mostly wondered because with all of those settlements if something happened to one, would the others come in to help out? Or were the relationships more isolated then that from one another? Maybe there was some loose trade pact? They did mention something about having prior conflicts to one group. He wondered if that was part of the reason people were not allowed outside the walls without proper reasoning. Retaliation from that other group maybe.

Hunter listened as Nikki explained her points. He saw the logic in those points and listened carefully as she spoke. He did laugh pretty loudly to the Starving child comment as if it was the funniest joke he had heard all day. True, he had made some poor choice since he entered. Sure, he had a mistrust for rules and people in power, sure he found everything remotely good to be a potential trap, but damn. If anything was reliable for Hunter, it was his sense of humor. He had no idea if Nikki was joking, being sarcastic, or strait up mocking him. But he found it funny as hell.

When he calmed down a bit he registered her comment about his time in the military. "Eh, not sure that is a fair comparison. Only boot camp and basic training was like that for me." He shrugged when he spoke. The only consistent thing for Hunter while he was in the army was training. "Everything else was just a fucking mess. First deployment was only a couple hours from where I used to live. I mean? Who sends a fucking squad to handle a situation a whole platoon should be dealing with? Hell, maybe a company. How are twelve dudes armed with a few rifles and machines guns supposed to handle crowds of thousands of people only to tell them that not everyone can make it today and no one knows when more help will come? It was all one big cluster fuck to begin with." He spoke as if it was a joke, but the memory of the stress was in his voice under that fake humor. he did recognize that this place was more relaxed then basic was, but it was more strict then the rest of his life in the army. All six weeks post training of it. Most of his combat experience came after his unit fell apart. "Didn't fucking help that command was a huge fucking waste of help. Our fucking Captain was a prick. Our Lieutenant worse, and our Sergeant never answered the call so we had one of our corporals given a field promotion. That's not even including...." He stopped himself. He was rambling. Plus, a lot of people here were military. And some may get defensive for those officers despite not knowing them. "Sorry... you don't need to hear this."

The question that came after was... not an easy one to answer. "Trying? No." He stumbled for words for a bit trying to explain himself. Nikki hasn't been hostile to him and actually seemed to wonder what his thought process was for everything here. "It's more of... It seems..." He shrugged. "Too good to be true." He didn't speak for a bit, clearly trying to figure the best way to speak his next few words. Trying to not make things seem... worse. "If... The last few years have showed me anything. It if something seem too good to be true. It probably is. Even now. I am waiting to figure out something really shitty like... Everyone here is a cannibal... or that the other settlements I heard of are treated like old style colonies and that's how this place thrives. By aggressive one sided trade. Or that..." He stopped. He wasn't really sure how to finish his thoughts. "Sorry... it's... a lot of mistrust." He knew it was probably a bit excessive, but trust can only be broken so many times before it became almost non existent. "And I don't know how to change that." He left out the fear of having to trust his protection to people were open to shooting him. And him having no way to stop it. She seemed very personal about this place, and he didn't want to push that too much here. Not now... Maybe someday he could explain those fears.

The change of topic helped things move along though. Hunter hated being left to his own thoughts. "So we're gonna role-play this like a bunch of nerds huh?" He chuckled a bit. He didn't have much against nerds. He found them weird, but most people found him weird. So he figured he had little room to judge. "Guess I see you're point. I'll talk to her at some point. As for me? Hello, I am Hunter. I enjoy a good laugh, and I am a grade A asshole who enjoys making enemies of everyone around him." He was hoping his poor attempt at humor didn't end in actually causing said event. "Ideal first date? Hard to say. Never dated before the world decided to be rid of us. And the closest I ever got post collapse was showing this one girl how to handle an M4 rifle. Didn't get to shoot it though. Only had like seven bullets at the time. But no guns for Sir Hunter here. So other date plans..." He had to stop and think for a moment. What did people do for dates? "Bon fire probably. I find Fire relaxing. Though if not that, maybe bowling? I haven't played in a few years though. What about you? What's your ideal first date?"

Manny was enjoying this little occasion with his fellow baby boomer. It was simple, it wasn't too emotional, but it felt personal and overall enjoyable. "I wouldn't mind listening to some Beatles again. It's been too long." Now that the old dentist thought about it, he isn't sure he's listened to any proper music since the world fell. Sure there was the karaoke while they were isolated, but he wasn't sure if that counted. There would be music tonight and he wondered how that would go, what they would play. It was exciting! "Teeth problems are no joke. Not at all. Most of dental work is preventative. Sure there are measures to deal with things if they get worse, but even those are preventative. If they don't have what I need, I can improvise, but trying to do things properly would be a lot harder." He shuddered, like the thought of the things he had to prevent as a dentist were some of the worst things he had ever seen. "Though with that in mind, if they don't have what I need, I would be more then willing to go out and find it myself. If they are willing to go some distance I am willing to bet my old facilities are semi intact. Sure the drugs are probably gone by now in the dead calmed down in the area, but it was the edge of the city so who knows?" He shrugged finishing his dinner.

Manny wasn't sure why, but Alexander explaining that he also didn't end up having kids through his life helped reassure him. It was a little thing, but for many people it was just something that many people were unable to do. When Alexander asked about party plans Manny stopped in his moment of thought. "In terms of the party, hoping to take a chance to get to know the locals. Not sure I'll do much partying though. Never been a party person." Manny said despite the fact that his youth he considered himself to be a different person. Though those parties when he was a teenager either led to everyone getting wasted and smashing some windows, or someone getting the shit beaten out of them. Then the cops would come, and Manny would be forced to answer to his father. "I don't expect to stay out too long though. You have anything special you want to do tonight?" He finished his food, and was ready to return his dishes. If Alexander decided he was ready to leave Manny would follow him out.

Hunter was a bit saddened to hear the restrictions that Izibell would be put under. She would put up with a leash, but she never seemed to like it. He understood the logic though. Didn't mean he liked it though. Her comments about comparing the rules here to gated communities before everything went to hell got a confused face off Hunter. "That could be true. I have heard a lot of shitty things about Home Owners Associations." His family living on a scrap yard growing up in the middle of nowhere, he never really had to work with groups like that. Though he heard things with his mom about that. She had more experience then probably anyone else in his family. "I have never heard of a gated community restricting access to the area outside of it like a prison. And if they do leave isolating them for months on end." Hunter was playing it off as a joke. But he didn't think the comparisons were fair. They were under a minor form of martial law. "Or when and where you can eat. Especially not in your own home." It was a joking tone still, but he had a point he wanted to show. "But whatever, I am here now. With no plans to leave in the near future." He left out the part where he would have most likely left the same time as Beatrice and Victor if he was allowed to leave with Izibell. On what terms, who knows.

He also had a lot to say about the lack of independence they were allowed here. At least of what he has heard so far. Even killing one of the dead ones wasn't allowed. He found that funny. Sure, taking stupid risks was stupid, but he found the punishment silly. But he would keep those thoughts to himself for now. "Wait, are you also telling me I gotta keep the grass at a steady and level height of 1.2 inches? Shit. I forgot to get a lawnmower." Hunter even though he wasn't a fan of the long list of rules here, still wanted to poke fun at everything. It distracted him from the areas he was annoyed with. The talk of Izibell for dinner was an all familiar one. Though that time he didn't have a joke to follow it up. For people who seemed desperate, he could look away from it. From those who didn't seem desperate... He normally had words to say. Hunter rarely found himself with people for long except the worst kinds of them. "Yeah... Easier to restrict the pet."

He took note of Nikki calling out to Thana, the girl who seemed like she got taken apart piece by piece and put back together so she could promptly beat the shit out of the fool who decided it was a good idea to only take her apart and not finish the job. When Nikki pulled him on to keep them moving Hunter turned and asked her a question. "So what's the deal with that girl? She seems to know everyone here, and everyone in quarantine. To my understanding, no one there was from this group before?" It honestly felt like despite everyone coming in as several groups, everyone seemed to know each other except Hunter. Sure the individual groups made sense, but damn. Everyone? "I got that she is related to the General that runs this place, but still. Damn. Was she famous before all of this?" It was a legitimate question. Hunter never followed celebrities. That was something his siblings did more. He was too busy working, sucking at school, and finding new and creative ways to break shit growing up.

Moments like this reminded Manny that no matter what happened they would always be there for each other. Not that he had any real doubts, but the reassurance was nice. "I could see you as a radio host. You have a good manner and voice for it." He wondered what it would be like to listen to the radio on a regular basis again. Past communities of his have built a make shift radio setup, but it was mostly used for calling out to other survivors in hopes of improved quality of life factors. It never panned out to more then static, the occasional refugee, and once or twice chatting with survivors out of reach from each other. When it came for Manny to talk about what he would end up doing he finished the bite of food in his mouth, wiped his face and cleared his throat. "Medical. Not sure if they have what I need to get back into my old practice, but I wouldn't mind entering for none traumatic work." If he needed to though, he wouldn't hesitate.

Stopping to think for a moment more about his interview came back to him. "They're considering me for education. I find that a bit funny considering I haven't done a day of child care in my life. Not that I am against kids, just never had any of my own. We just..." He stopped for a moment. Not sure how much to share. Yes, he was a talkative person, but he had his own history that even with those he was close to, he wasn't as comfortable talking about. "We just never got around to it." He said in a manner of fact tone. He did take note of Thalia's lack of words. She had a great way of communicating without speaking. Something that Manny wouldn't mind getting better at in the future at some point. Manny gave a polite wave as she left though to get rid of her tray, and he finished up his food. Despite the urgent environment the apocalypse created, Manny still ate his food at a rather slow pace. Like with most of his life, he was pretty patient, and took his time with everything.

The rules seemed pretty strait forward about what was to happen while Izibell stayed here. For the most part, it fit really well for when hunter has taken dogs to other places. Clean up after her, shit and all, keep her well watched, and don't let her get into trouble. There were rules about food which he found odd but he would shrug it off. Rules were rules. Food was food. "When you say... keep her indoors otherwise. Does that mean that..." He wasn't really sure how he expected things to be. He almost expected that she could always be near him when she wanted to be. "So... is she not allowed to stay by my side? She's pretty well behaved, someone trained her before I found her. She follows commands well." She was also the closest to family he had left.

The thought was clearly a stressful one for him. Though he tried to hide it, it was a skill he had been struggling with recently. And one he never really mastered to begin with. "I've like, never even heard her bark before." Woof yes. Her deep woof, mostly to show that she wanted attention. "Are there... other things I should know about? This place... had a lot of rules." It's not that Hunter wasn't a fan of rules, but... He wasn't a fan of rules. He grew up in an isolated part of his home state, in an area that people went to the next town over to go to the store, and that as long as you didn't start problems, it was live and let live. No one watching over your shoulder constantly to make sure that you dotted your I's, and crossed your T's. Sure, he could live with rules, but he felt confined like a prisoner every time he heard more about this place.

Manny was glad to be accepted into the table. Alexander had greeted him in with comments about the oncoming party. Thalia's response... was a more interesting one. Once she finished defeating the spaghetti monster with her hands and face she turned her attention towards him. Sure, they had traveled a while together, and they had plenty of meals where forks were not an option, but seeing that now when they were an option surprised Manny. What also got the old dentist turned medic was the Orange remnants crushed against the table, and the juice sprayed on her face, and the grin she gave as it rested there. The look of surprise on his face was far from hidden, but he gave a polite nod to the seat offer.

It reminded him of when he was younger. Though instead of getting into fights with spaghetti and oranges it was other kids in his neighborhood. He wondered if Thalia's life was like that prior to things falling apart? Or if she was a well behave child outside of being a table monster with no mercy for dinner? He just smiled at that thought though, this place was somewhere they could feel comfortable and if that is what made the badass girl comfortable, he was happy with that. "Mind if I ask what you two were talking about before I showed up?" He didn't want to be intrusive, but he also didn't want to make things awkward by suddenly stopping a conversation.

Atticus had stopped Hunter a couple times so the former soldier boy had a chance to catch his tongue and spit his words out properly. But he was getting his girl back, and he could soon feel at ease for the first time since he was here. Sure, he had been stripped off all his gear, weapons, and had been given a list of rules he would struggle to remember, but he had his dog at least. He would have Izibell. He found it interesting how much Nikki was calling him Cutie in the last week or so. Prior to Nikki he wasn't ever called cute. Handsome by his mom sure, but never cute. "They probably did, but before I fuck up it's probably best to hear them again if you don't mind." When it came to his dog, it was better safe then sorry. It wasn't unlikely that someone here may look at her and decide she'd make a great stew.

He would follow Nikki for as long as it took to get to Izibell, and and do his best to listen intently to the rules. He wondered what the party would be like, he hadn't really gone to any before the world fell apart. Granted, there was a lot he was doing here that he didn't have to do prior to the world ending. Like function among other people. Regular paper work. Not being allowed to leave a half mile strip of land. No... this would be different for him, and he wouldn't adjust easy. But he figured as long as he behaved, worst that could happen would be he leaves someday. Hopefully he could learn to like this place. But he wasn't a fan of the rules of the place. Felt too strict for what it was. Sure it helped survive, but he felt it was over the top. And it may cause more problems later down the line. But he never led a group, so maybe there will be more to learn.

For Manny he found the tour overall very exciting, though surprisingly after a week of being in quarantine he just felt tired out. Leaving the tram he made his way tot he mess hall and was surprised to see the number of people in there. It reminded him of how much things have changed since this all started. Nowadays? This was a ton of people, but he could think of times where he could get as many people as patients over the course of two of three weeks. He wondered what the meal schedules for people who worked outside of normal hours were? He imagined that at least a couple people had to be working on different schedules. At least for guard duty. He also wondered what the other settlements were like? But that was a question for another day.

Manny grabbed his food and took note of everyone in the room. It all felt so... Normal. He saw that everyone in quarantine had broken off into mixed groups with the people from camp Mexico beach. He was honestly expecting everyone to group up together with some integration. Though it was a good sign none the less that things were working out. In his moment of thought, he hadn't really realized how long he had been standing there with his thoughts roaming. He grabbed his food and looked for somewhere to sit. Despite his very outgoing nature he was still getting used to culture here, and so he wasn't really sure where to sit at the moment. He noticed Alexander and Thalia sitting by the ends of one of the tables. He figured out of anywhere
it was somewhere as good as any. He made his way over with his food in hand and let them finish up their current conversation before speaking. "Mind if I sit here? Still getting used to people here I guess." He didn't imagine that they would say no, but he wouldn't sit until they did. If someone had something against him there at the moment he wouldn't blame them. Thalia and Alexander were reserved people, and Manny had pushed that more then once without realizing it. And he could always find other places to sit.

In his moment of processing everything he realized he missed his chance to pick up Izibell. When that moment hit him on the way tot he mess hall he stopped to register it, then spoke in a brief but sharp tone. "Son of a Fuck Bucket." He cursed his poor attention span in the moment, and decided to move on with things and find Atticus. Maybe dinner first... He went in and noticed the amount of people. Yes, he knew that there were 300 people. But damn... seeing so many in one place was... a lot for him. Considering every group he has been apart of since things fell apart has either been hostile, or wiped out rather soon after his arrival, or both. This was a lot for the former soldier to take in. "Huh... people..." He got his food quietly, and sat down trying to block out the world. He sat with his back to the wall and decided he should find somewhere else to have meals. Even if it was just less people, this was a lot. Plus he knew he was on a lot of people's shit list, and he still wasn't sure how all of them may react in situations. Sure, they seemed nice. But that threat of being shot was his first impression of the place, and it was lasting.

When he finally finished his food he looked around. Things were still... calm. Though he noticed Atticus finishing his food up and cleaning things up. Rushing to finish his food (Sometimes with a fork sometimes with his hand) He made his way at a rather speedy pace to Atticus. "Hey, .hey, hey. Uhhh... is it.. To late to pick up Izibell? She like... Uh.." Guns, explosions, simple engineering tasks, and animals. All things he could handle. But words and people were a lacking skill on his part. But trying to catch him before he left, Hunter pulled together the words he needed to speak. "Yeah can I uh... pick upisha-" He stopped himself again. He took another deep breath and calmed down. His words were twisting up and he was struggling to speak again. "Can I please pick up Izibell." He spoke as if he was plotting out each word. But he seemed to be polite about it still none the less.

The tram ride was honestly strange for the old dentist. "Didn't really get into the Stones when they were popular, but I'd enjoy them now I think." It was nice to see Alexander enjoying the place, Manny was too. The tram felt weird to Manny. Almost felt like an old amusement park ride showing off the nearby environments and other points of interests of a ride. He almost expected the alarms to start going off and to see the tiny little dinosaurs eating the robotic staff members. Thankfully that didn't happen, last thing this world needed were giant lizards and dead people eating the survivors. The tour was nice though, the camp seemed pretty strait forward, and Manny looked forward to being able to see more as time went on.

Manny was pleased to hear that him and Alexander would be sharing an apartment which was nice to hear. Out of the survivors, Manny felt he got along with Alexander the most. Plus there were not many people in his age range, even if this was a place with many retirement aged people he wouldn't know any of them. "Not sure I am ready for retirement there. But it may be nice to take things just a little easier." Hearing more about living was nice, more people closer to his age, and regular card games. "If I am being honest, I haven't played a lot of cards. And the days I did were many years ago. But I wouldn't mind learning to play again." He played occasionally while in his collage years, but he found it distracting so never really to into it at the time.

Manny made himself up to what would be his new home. It was.... strange. What wasn't a surprise was that most of his gear wasn't here. Almost everything he had could be considered essential supplies. Between his shotgun, the shells, and the medical supplies, he didn't have much for him other then the clothes on his back. And now, that was all he had again. The clothes on his back, some clothes for the week, and a room resembling the room he had when he started school. Minus the desk. It felt weird to him. Starting this new life completely from scratch it felt like. It was funny to think that a handful of years ago he owned a home, owned a business, helped keep people healthy, provided jobs to people, was an active participant at the local shooting range, and now... He was on square one with nothing. The place was amazing though. Somewhere warm and safe to sleep. Somewhere he could study when needed. Somewhere he didn't need to worry about being eaten alive.

His biggest complaint now, was lacking his gun. Sure, a minor complaint. But having it and knowing where it was was always a relief. When the military fell years ago, Manny had used one just like it to fight his way out of a stadium. And used it again to defend multiple settlements. Eventually losing it to the chaos. Then obtaining a new one while raiding Eden. Sure, this was to be expected, but this was a military camp. And that thought would always be in the back of his mind. What if... this place fell as well. What if... the military couldn't hold up here for whatever reason?

He sat on the bed for a while thinking about it. There was no way they'd let him be in a situation to have the gun back. Nor did he want to be in one of those situations. He was no fighter. The lack of a gun again did remind him of something important. The place was secure. It was a fortress. It also had a healthy supply of food. It had a proper medical team. And he could build this new life however he wanted. Sure, there were things he would like to be different. That would happen anywhere he went. Nothing can be perfect, especially for everyone. But this place is surely a good start.

Manny after packing his clothes into their new locations made his way back to the tram. It would be time to meet the locals soon, and maybe become one of them as well.

Hunter wans't sure how he felt about the tram. Sure it was nice, but the distence they went seemed way too close to be driving. It felt... wasteful. The little fans were interesting though, but seemed over the top. He liked the openess of it though, the ability to see around with ease, to feel the breeze, to jump in and out of the sides if he wanted to. He didn't, but it was a nice thought. He even got some words out of the Major woman. "On mixed terms with most of the people here. Would rather nont push it more then I have too." He said with a calm factual tone. Learning he was in a condo was something interesting to the soldier boy as well. He didn't know much about them, or how they differed from apartments, but it sounded cool enough. He was sharing it with a few others, some he had met, some he wasn't so sure of. But all had met Izibell and seemed fine with her, so he would give them a shot. As far as he was concerned, what kind of crazy person couldn't love the 110 lbs of muscle and love known as Izibell?

While in the tram he avoided his probing for answers about the place with major. Seemed pointless right now, and he figured if he really wanted to know time would tell better then asking. It was nice to hear their sleeping spaces weren't set up like the base barracks back up north. They were individual rooms grouped up with others. Though kitchens were useless. bathrooms worked, and he wondered if the water still worked in the sinks in the kitchens? There was no paticular reasoning for wanting to know this, but he was curious. He added that to his goal list. As well as finding paper. He would forget his list if he didn't write it down.

He found his room easy enough. It was.... bland. He wasn't sure what else to expect, but bland didn't seem to click in his mind well. Looking over his posesions was a rather grim sight for him as well. All of his gear had been obtained and stored. Except his clothes. Though he didn't really have the most regular clothing. He had a hoodie laced with duct tape and thick mesh. Decent armor in a pinch, but murder in the heat. But he still had it, so that was nice. He was left his boots, his worn fingerless gloves, and his camouflage cap. Though the thing that probably he wasn't really ready to see yet, a set of camouflage fautieges. They weren't his original ones from being deployed. Those were long gone now. This uniform was one picked up a few months ago. Still blank. No name, no unit markings, no rank. Just a standard set, waiting for it's own history. Though like much of Hunter's clothes, very well worn and used. It held some sentimental value ot him. Sure, his time in the service was a shit show every step of the way. But it set him up with the set of skills he needed to survive. And survive he did.

And like the room he stood in, it was all blank, ready to be filled in as needed. He kinda chuckled at the Irony of that. A blank uniform waiting to be patched and set up. And an empty blank room waiting to be personalized. Sure, he had lost everything he worked hard to gather to make it this far, but now he made it this far. He would still need to work out how to trust these people more, but he at least felt comfortable enough to not distrust them. And they didn't kick him out. He wondered if this place was designed to make people feel like this was a fresh start, that things were starting over for them? Another question to answer with time. He looked at the worn uniform before leaving for the tram. This was his new start, maybe a chance to make ammends for some of the things he fucked up along the way. He'd do his best to make it work. But it wouldn't be an easy one.

Hunter strode back to the Tram with a well diciplined pace resembling that of a proper soldier. Dressed head to toe in his worn fatuiges he felt ready to take on the world. Boots shined (As best can do without boot polish), cap worn strait, shirt tucked in, wrinkles flushed out, and what little hair showed was well within former military regulation. He walked with a purpose, and he was determined to show that there was more to him then some kid who couldn't handle himself. Plus, if they didn't want him wearing the uniform they shouldn't have given it back. Though he figured their own people here had their own markings. He sat down again back strait in the last row of the Tram awaiting for their next destination.

Now that everyone that remained had been accepted in, and were the ones staying, the guards eased up a lot more. Things felt... strangely normal. There was some chatter here and there, Thana talked a bit with one of the guards before she rode her skateboard off. Manny decided that was probably not the form on transportation that he would be trying to learn. Sure he may have had fun with it in his youth, but even then he was a very sure footed muscle head. Being on wheels like that would probably be more comedic then anything else. Manny before leaving the conference room decided to meet up with Alexander. "Ready for our new world?" He spoke trying to keep the moment a little positive, but he was struggling. Sure he wasn't close on a emotional level with Beatrice, but they were like family in some ways. But she seemed to thrive in environments like those outside of these walls. She'll do well. Even if he would miss her.

Leaving quarantine felt good. Being outside again was a surprising thing for the old dentist. He had gotten used tot he cool air of air conditioning, being outside almost felt like a cruel punishment more then anything else. "Damn, this will take some getting used to again." Manny is pretty sure it wont take too long to adjust, as long as some major heat wave doesn't come through and devastate the southern state. What surprised him other then the sudden heat, was the Tram that awaited them to give them the tour of this place. Seeing as he hasn't ridden in one before, this could be fun. Not really sure what to expect from the tour outside of some basic explanations Manny sat himself in an empty row at the front of the wagon. Seemed the main machine was filling up pretty fast anyways. He was excited to see what his new home would be, but anxious about it. The excitement held stronger though.

Tonight's party sounded decent enough. The lady with the scared up face who's name Hunter still couldn't place was going to get dragged up for more singing tonight, he would get to be with Izibell again, and he would be in a semi open space again. Though the last one was a simple comfort more then anything else. Hunter figured since he was staying, he had to make some goals for himself. One, keep things simple, avoid making more enemies. Two, get himself into a position with a gun. Though he would not likely ever Need one, he felt safer with one then not. Even if he never fired it. Three, find some decent hobbies. Maybe get back into scrapping like the old family business? Make a set of armor that would make Ned Kelly proud? He wasn't sure. But he needed a hobby none the less. He did take note that Nikki got what weapons she had taken and would most likely be returned to inventory, good thing to take note of no matter how things went for himself. Limited possession. Made sense, but still. Four, he needed to find a space for just himself. If he found himself in a position to afford an apartment, great. If not, he'd settle with a closet or a small untraveled space behind a building. But that would cause more suspicion then the other options. But it was another thing, not needed as much, but when needed, it was nice to know it was there.

Nikki ended up riding off on her skateboard soon enough. Back to Supply from what little he heard. He would needed to decide how he felt about her. Was he emotionally starved? Easy to get to? Or did he actually like her a bit? Those thoughts were confusing to him, and it was an expression that showed on his face. Confusion. He also wondered if she reminded him of others that were close to him, but that was all connected to memories he normally tried to avoid. So he decided to not use memories to compare her to those he may have known before. She is nice though. While his mind was active, he accidentally reminded himself of something else he needed to take care of. He was still under weight, and at only a portion of his strength. Five, gain weight, and get stronger.

The temperature outside was noticeably hotter then it was inside. Though the initial surprise got his attention, he shrugged it off easy enough. His time up north had taught him a very important lesson about Central New York. Don't like the weather, wait five minutes. The winters would reach record cold every other year it seemed, and the summers record hots every few years. Got comfortable, you'd lose next season. Sure, the AC was nice, but now being outside felt nicer. The super super golf cart with a dozen seats, and a wagon with double that number sat outside waiting for them. Atticus was waiting to take them on the tour to show them their new place of residency. Hunter decided that with how many people here he was on negative terms with, best to get some space for now. Worst case scenario, he wouldn't be able to hear what the tour information was, and he would have to learn it later. He sat in the last seat all the way in the back, seemed free enough.
