Government: The Fathers, a group of powerful psionic beings, have come to rule all the dominion with an ironfist, their word taken as gospel, the masses bowing before them as Living Gods. Below the Fathers, is the Assembly of Magisters, a ruling body made of Magister lords, individuals gifted with a high affinity for psionics or magic. The Magisters Assembly runs the day-to-day operations of the Dominion, enacting and enforcing laws and decrees, and acting as an advisory councils to the Fathers.
Demographics:
Their true name remains a mystery to outsiders, what is known is that the Fathers are a group of powerful psionics hailing from world where magic and science are seamless and intertwined. In their homeworld, the Father fed on an energy source that was abundant, limitless.
One of the most common lifeform on Riftworld, the lands Talan no occupies is home to various strains of humanity from across the multiverse. These diverse tribes now under the thumb of the Fathers, serving as laborers, merchants, soldiers and the like, proving to be the most robust of the Fathers' subjects.
The Dathu, a race of amphibian humanoids hailing from a distant star cluster in dark space. The Dathu, culturally, the Dathu were, and still are governed by a ruling class of Feudal Lords and Ladies.(TBD)
The Grogar are a warlike race that hail from a world that had endured a great apocalypse, struggling for dominance in a decaying world. Once the rifts opened, many clans were pulled away from their home, shocked to fine themselves in a more fertile world, one ripe for conquest. For some centuries, the Grogar launched raids against emerging nations of the north, pillaging and burning settlements. Their reign of terror would both end and enter a new chapter once the Talanian Dominion invaded their core territories. The resulting conflice would last a few years before the Fathers had to intervene personally, one of the few times in the Dominion's history. Once the might of the Fathers magic was displayed, the clans would soon bow down and submit to their new masters. The Grogar that joined the Dominion now move with a purpose, to serve the Fathers and bring their light to foreign lands, by any means necessary.
Society: It can be difficult to decipher Talanian culture at first glance, a land that was once made up of many nations, tribes, and communities, all now under the banner of the Dominion. Provincial cultures vary, from the Dathu Heartlands that are governed by noble houses and the sort, from various former human and elven kingdoms and republics, to the untamed Grogar Frontier, a land of continuous internal warfare. The dominating culture is one of an industrious and militaristic people with an religious zeal for the founding, and still living Fathers of the nation.
Military: The Military of the Dominion, like many other states on riftworld, is a strange beast. Talan is a land of varying technologies, from swords and sorcery, to primitive firearms, to highly modern to futuristic weaponry. The armies of the Dominion are organized into varying tiers, which are than organized into Legions. Outside the legions are the Provincial Armies, the Praetor Corp and the Skyfleet. Provincial Armies are remnants of military forces of than conquered nations reorganized to act as a militia and military police. The Praetor Corps are the elite of the Dominion military, possessing the most advanced technologies at their disposal. The Skyfleet are the central aerial forces of the Dominion.

Rifts are mysterious, ancient anomalies who are older than time itself, born before even the universe was. They are gate ways that pierce reality itself, linking dimensions together and sometimes, trapping people in other worlds. The world we live in now is one born from an uncountable number of Rifts, where people and land from alternative timelines, aliens planets and fantastic worlds have been combined to form one. New societies, pieced from those who arrived here on the Riftworld, have risen and fallen and risen again.
For a millennium, the Rifts were closed with only rumors of Rifts existing in only the most remote wildlands. Those who have accepted the Riftworld as their new home have built new lives here, starting families and establishing communities that would go on to form nations. It is a universal truth that all live desires company, and such desires on the Riftworld have given birth to a myriad of strange nations, formed from seemingly disparate parts and blended to create something new.
But something stirs. Rumors speak of the Rifts reopening from the coldest mountain peaks to the hottest desert planes , the foggiest wetland swamp to the untamed wilderness. These Rifts, long though sealed, have reopened their reality rending maws to let loose chaos anew. And now, the Riftworld will experience an Awakening of the Rifts.
Welcome to the Riftworld! This is an NRP set in the interdimensional dumping grounds of the multiverse, courtesy of the aforementioned Rifts. It is a world where all kinds of peoples, races and creatures have had to make their homes ever since they were first brought here in the first Opening of the Rift a millennia ago. It is a world were magic and technology co-exist and mingle, where the fantastic becomes the mundane and civilizations rise and fall.
The main narrative is what do these established nations do when the Rifts that brought them to this world have reopened to spew forth more peoples, creatures, and items into the world? They were thought shut and now the fact they have reopened brings up the question of what might come out of them.

Ever since the rifts made their return, the skies have become ever more dangerous, rifts forming high up, hurling flaming remnants of a reality that was torn asunder by the rifts. Although they pose a great danger, these riftfalls also open up opportunities for would-be scavengers as they often yield rare materials.
Government Type: A Magocratic Theocracy under the rulership of the Jarir, a race of powerful psionic beings that have come to be worshiped as Gods by the peoples of Ashfall and it’s surrounding lands. Demographics: The people of Ashfall are a varied sort, some the result of migration or more common the case, through conquest.
@ClocktowerEchos Looks good so far! As for how long, it's been some millennia since the world formed. Plenty of time for civilizations to rise, fall, rise again and so forth.
