As soon as Eilidh woke up, she could tell that something was different. Every inch of her body was tingling. She hadn't even opened her eyes, but she could feel that she was younger. Her body was healthier and in better working order. Her skin was smooth. And she could feel something below her waist. She could....actually feel below her waist. Her eyes shot straight open and she turned to look, immediately seeing that below her waist was the body of a horse.

She screamed. But nobody heard her.

---

One hour later, she was trotting around her floor testing out her four new legs (In the tower block she lived in, every floor was one very large apartment, as opposed to there being several small apartments per floor as many other blocks had.) She could only vaguely remember how to use two legs! On the other hand, that made the process easier. She didn't need to 'forget' how to walk with two feet. The first thing she had noticed besides the changes to her own body was that all the windows on her floor had been blown in. Her wheelchair lay crumpled in a heap in the corner of her room. In fact, she herself had woken up on the floor.

Besides the horse's body, another change had occurred to Eilidh; she was younger. In fact, she had the upper body of her teenage self. Her short, white hair was not long and curly. Of course, this would mean having to once again find something fashionable to wear. She naturally did not have clothing befitting a teenager currently in her possession. The most fitting thing she found was a tight, dark top with a shoulder missing. It was reasonably hip. She also used a clip-around skirt to hide the 'transitional area' between her hips and the horse's body. Looking herself in the mirror, she liked what she saw, but it still needed more...youth! Plus the horse's body itself was a bit plain. She should dress it it up a bit. The only appropriate thing was a circular silk table decoration. It would have to do. She also tied a ribbon in her tail, for all the difference that made, and also tied one in her hair, which she was begging to find annoying left loose, and she hadn't the patience to straighten it. As for the 'youth', she found some warm, very modern fingerless gloves in her bottom drawer. They were a present she received in her forties, back when she was clinging on to the last shreds of being able to dress modern. She'd never worn them in her life. She put them on now.

Grabbing her credits, she nodded at her reflection. Ready to hit the city! She moved her arms as if to reverse her wheelchair, and they brushed her hairy horse body. It would still take some getting used to...

Trotting down the street, Eilidh had fallen into the trotting rhythm. Walking on four legs wasn't as hard as she'd have thought once she knew how. Of course, nobody recognised her. Nobody tried to. Everywhere she looked, changes had occurred to everyone, and not all of them were success stories. The streets were gruesome. The roads were filled with debris. It was truly starting to feel like day one of the post-apocolypse.
@Elevation

That works!
I'm going to hang tight until the situation changes. Until then, just act like Dalry's still curled up.
@Feyblue

Also it means that nobody on the Discord can leave without an explination. Also makes organising possible collabs easier
This character pool is looking to be great!

@Shoryu

Thanks! And yes, that is a flank doily
Name:
Eilidh Wilkinson

Apparent Age:
17

Actual Age:
58

Former Species:
Human

Height:
5"7

Weight:
142 lbs

Appearance:
Eilidh was a woman in the throes of late middle-age. She was clearly a woman who had once been more ‘pretty’ than ‘beautiful’ but was now neither, though she had a kind, motherly grace about her despite never having had children herself. Her eyes, once a pretty light blue, had darkened and dulled in colour. She had well-styled hair, though she had given up trying to dye it and had embraced the inevitable greying process and proudly sported white. She sported cardigans and mom jeans in lieu of anything hip or trendy, and all in all, she was an ordinary happy 58 year old woman in all respects but one;
She was wheelchair bound.

New Species:
Centaur

Height:
7"8

Weight:
1016 lb

Appearance:

Personality:
Eilidh is disarmingly kindly, charming and sweet on the outside, but on the inside she is cunning and ruthless. She is not an immoral person per say, but she has no scruples about throwing any ethics away that she deems counterproductive to her goal of making money. She will backstab her clients at the merest hint of a better offer. That was before she changed.

Her new, youthful appearance only make her even more disarming, the wisdom and power that she possesses feeling utterly alien in the body of a pretty seventeen year old Centaur.

Location:
South-East Middle Class District

Assets:
Eilidh is extremely knowledgeable about computers and hacking. She’s been playing this game a lot longer than the kids who share her vocation, and is such one of the better hackers in the South-East section of the City.

Possessions:
Roughly 430,000 credits
Multi-purpose handheld device (MHD. Think a really advanced smartphone)
Very powerful portable hacking computer (Think a really advanced laptop)

Story:
Eilidh, from her earliest memory, wanted to ride horses for a living. The first time she ever rode a horse at the age of nine, there was a horrific accident that cost her the use of everything below her waist. As she couldn’t use her body much anymore, she used her brains instead. She aced high school at seventeen, and went straight to college, majoring in computing with a minor in ethical hacking. She worked at many prestigious companies in her adult life, though never truly wanted to settle down at any of them.
And then the world started going to shit, and Eilidh thrived. Companies became incredibly rich and powerful, and those who worked for them reaped the benefits. Eilidh was a lowly button-pressing, second-floor robot, but she was a damn good one, and gained enough riches to call herself wealthy. Her holiday hours were rarely used for anything other than lavish vacations to the most luxurious vacation spots on the planet. She had the money. Why not. Everything was great.

It was in one of these remote vacations when she missed the wholesale destruction of the city she lived and worked. Her job, her home, her livelihood, gone in an instant. She was distraught briefly, but caught wind of a mass migration to a ‘new start’. When she got there, her long-dormant skills as a hacker became invaluable as small businesses grew and tried to claw for scraps of what the corporations had previously been responsible for, and were constantly at odds with one another. Hackers became valuable, and Eilidh stayed rich. But life wasn’t done with surprises for her yet.

Secrets:
She’s actually 58 years old. She was also working for the very company that was spearheading the attempt to control the sun. Did she have anything to do with that? Even she cannot say. She didn’t ask questions about what the numbers she processed or programs she fault-checked were for.
