Having to stay in place to charge an attack is kind of a weakness, as the method to counter that ability is clearly just to run up to them and hit them.
• History: There is a reason Mako is known as a 'witch' and not a 'mage'. Her magic is earth-based and is based on witchcraft rather than the arcane. Though not nearly n a scale comparable to the Great Witch, Mako was still a very formidable opponent to the numerous wizards who have crossed her path over the years. The ties to one particularly powerful and evil member of her kind have given witches a bad reputation, and the art of witchcraft is dying out. Mako decided to kill two birds with one stone and decided to become a teacher, both passing on the knowledge of witchcraft to the younger generation, and helping to heal it's image by firmly standing on the side of the Dawn Slayers.
• Abilities: Mako's command of witchcraft has very few, if any, rivals on the planet, and only a select few beings of any race are a match for her in magic-based combat. That number is probably less than a hundred. She is also adept at potions, divination, alchemy, curses and hexes.
• Skills: Mako, as well as a rigid and enthusiastic albeit mischievous teacher, is also a fantastic cook, as is to be expected from a potions master. After all, what is cookery but potions with food? She also practices acrobatics and gymnastics as a hobby (a healthy body leads to a healthy mind) and as such is incredibly fit and agile, which keeps her young almost as much as her magic does.

Mako was sitting in the staff room, marking the History exam papers of the class that was to be graduating this year. With her right hand, she was holding the pen with which she was ticking the correct answers and crossing out the wrong ones, or grading the essay question answers out of 10. With her left, she was drawing a chalk pentagram onto a special mat (as she couldn't draw on the staff table anymore. She'd gotten in trouble for that in the past). She wasn't right-handed, in fact, she was ambidextrous, yet the pentagram had to be drawn with the left hand.
When the pentagram as done, she placed her thermos of now cold coffee (Irish coffee, though she kept that a secret) in the middle and muttered an incantation. A few seconds later, the coffee was piping hot. She always had to be careful using pentagrams indoors, as you couldn't see the sun, and the pentagram had to point East, towards the rising sun. if it pointed West, it became a symbol of Satanism instead of Witchcraft and cast the spell, useful to Demons living in the Inferno, of making hot drinks cold, and more than once Mako had misjudged which direction was East and accidentally created iced coffee. Mako hated iced coffee.
Looking over at the answers again, she felt a slight pang in her chest, that she felt every year teaching here. You grew attached to students and it was always sad to see more go. It was a feeling you never truly got used to. She thought back to her own time at school too, as a short haired troublemaker who at that point knew she was a witch but didn't know the connotations until her own History class. Her mother had told her to just pretend to be a mage. She grew to resent it, but her mother always kept her in check, for if she snapped, she'd just be proving everybody right about witches. That's why she was here, after all. To change things with kindness and teaching instead. It was scandalous at first for this school to have a witch teaching students but Mako worked very hard to prove herself before too much damage to the school's reputation was done.
With the marking done, Mako stretched, and headed out the staffroom, passing by all the stragglers of this term. It wasn't long now before the new school year started and a new batch of first years arrived. She wondered what they'd be like. Would they be hard to teach? Will their parents have warned them about learning from a witch? Would they be fine with it? Would they be quick learners or thick as mud? Only time would tell. They couldn't be much worse than the first years from fourteen years ago, though. That class was the worst. The. Worst. She chuckled as she remembered the shenanigans. That class would always be her favourite.
No, it should be easy to find as long as you actually read the OOC. Hiding a password isn't a measure to exclude lazy people and nobody else. It's a measure to exclude almost everybody.
Yeah, I wrote that in college. I'll add to it now. (I hope that's not too small for a regular post, though. Sometimes I can't manage three paragraphs though I usually can)
The tone of the conversation had changed drastically, and Mina noticed it instantaneously. The petite-yet-medium-height Mina bristled as the smaller girl got closer, and then not only touched her hair, but rubbed her face against it. Mina was frozen to the spot. With most things she did not expect, she could usually at least think up an appropriate reaction. To this, she had nothing. Sheer confusion and something resembling 'Horror of the unknown darkness' were showing on her face in equal measure. When Tomoe hugged her, she decided that this was a step too far and wriggled free of the girl's grip, or rather try to, having to pry Tomoe's arms open manually. Finally free, she backed away several paces, face flushed and wild-eyed. Mina wasn't even fully used to strangers not bowing, being formal and engaging in polite upper-class social etiquette with her. She was definitely not used to spontaneous snuggles.
"No, we may not trade! Also never do that again! That was...I don't even know what that was. A level of intimacy that I don't even share with family, let alone people I've just met! If you want soft hair, just use really good shampoo and conditioner once every three days!"
