Hitomi had to smack her lips after drinking that milk. Well, Mamou called it milk. It was more like drinking cream. Tasty, though. Slightly spoiled by the scent of blood, all the stronger to Hitomi's enhanced sense of smell. when Mamoru raised her arms, Hitomi discovered where it was coming from. Hitomi understood Mamoru's points, though. "Are you sure you should be training while your wounds still haven't fully healed? I mean, I get it. My quirk is practically useless in most combat situations unless I need to run away. While that's not the type of Hero I really want to be, I started training last year. I've got nothing on the people here who've been training for much of their life, or just have good offensive quirks, but it's something. Still, though. You probably gut hurt in the first place by being reckless. That should be the first weakness you try to train out."

When Jett and Ken started arguing, Hitomi looked over, and listened in with her large sheep ears. She heard every word. For now, it was just an airing of dirty laundry, but the tension was thick. It had the danger of turning violent any second. "Well," she started to answer Mamoru, "This is clearly not a duel. If they come to blows, we should step in, but it might not, and if we get involved now, we might make it worse. Even if we don't, and they do back down, their grievances with each other will just fester." That was when Dulga came by and suggested they get a teacher, which made so much sense Hitomi was a little embarrassed she hadn't thought of it. "Yes, that's a better call. Let's do that. Thank you again."

Seiko listened to everything Sakura said, with a foxy smile on his face and absolutely no hint of regret or worry. He wasn't expecting to get off without a punishment, but if Amane could do what he did, and still be at school, and in the 1B hero course, then Seiko had nothing to worry about. After Sakura finished, Seiko gave her a round of applause.

"That was impressive! You should become a lawyer, Sakura-chan. You'd be good at it. But a prank is a prank. What Amane did to Seductress' daughter. That's assault. She got dropped onto her neck. And if he's not expelled after that, but myself or the rest of the pranksters so much as get threatened with it, there will be no justice in that. Oh, I might get suspended, or detention, or Janitorial duty. I knew the risks. I'll take whatever punishment I'm given and carry it out in style!"

After striking an idol-like pose, Seiko continued. "I don't want to make a case. I'm not on trial. I've committed no crime. I've broken some school rules. I haven't tarnished mine or the school's reputation. I haven't acted in a villainous manner. Several members of 1A were attacked by real villains. You think anyone's priority will be a cheeky prank? You need to take it easy more, Sakura-chan! Maybe we can put this behind us after you report me and we could go to karaoke together."

As Mako continued to watch Lysander get his wires stuck in his hair, or trip, her smile was starting to creep back on her face. Her mood was improving. There was something infectious about Lysander's bumbling cheer and refusal to take himself too seriously, which was a problem with many Heroes Mako had faced. They often wondered why they weren't ranked higher despite their work ethic. The fact was that nobody likes a square. A hard-working, serious Hero might be a great public servant, but how can kids look up to them unless they're a Superhero? That's what Mako attributed her own popularity to. In a pre-All Might era full of serious Heroes, it took a Supervillain to be the old-school campy loud personality that people wanted to notice, and talk about, and be excited by. And here Mako was, taking things too seriously because the papers were trashing her again. Shame on her!

She was almost fully back to her old, sly self when Lysander awkwardly bowed and showed confusion on how to address her. "You can call me whatever you want~" she teased, before grinning. "But seriously, address me as Miss Mako, or Mako-Sensei. I don't mind either way. It's your preference. So, you want to be transferred back to 1A, do you? I did hear about your little...extracurricular activity. Nice use of teamwork if I say so myself, but I have a formal report from your classmate, Nadeshiko Sakura, outlining the multiple school rules you've broken. Honestly, it's a very well-written report. She should be a lawyer.

I'd rule that you haven't earned a transfer to 1A as a reward. However, before you get all mopey, it's definitely still possible. Amane is not happy with you. Given that Mamoru was not present at the incident, and the nigh-indestructible forms of Ayanokoji and Koizumi, you're the most vulnerable target for any retaliation. As such, staying in the same class as him is not an ideal situation. I will bring this point up with the Principal and see what I can do. Leave the matter with me."
She winked at him. "Between you and me, I like your style, and I'm with you on this."

Natalie read the doubt in Archie's face, and had shrunk a little, incredibly defensive and cautious. She was waiting to see what he'd do next, but there was some kind of desperate fear in her eyes akin to a cornered animal that is seconds away from fighting back. His next words weren't an allusion to Project Lion, or her real name, so she sighed with some relief as she carried on listening. When he showed her his bruises and made allusions to the house. It instantly clicked, and she excitedly pointed.

"It's you! You're the...from the....!" she squeaked, before laughing with relief, all tension gone. Jesus! For a second, I thought you were from...you know, it doesn't matter. So, you're him from the house, huh? Well, I guess we both know each other's secrets now," she answered, keeping it vague and watching Nicole from the corner of her eye. Natalie didn't seem weary of Archie even after learning his secret. In her mind, he was being civil, in his human costume, after an incident where he showed her that he was a monster. And the reverse was equally as true. They had a lot in common, and she could sympathise with him. It was that they were so similar that neither was afraid of the other, because both were too afraid of themselves.

As the man now looked away, Natalie decided to shelve that strange stare for thinking about later. For now, she just needed caffeine. Nicole then addressed her, and Natalie answered. It would be rude not to. "Trust me, I'm not worried about falling asleep. I had a long day at work, at the fast food restaurant over on Argyle Boulevard. Besides, I've heard that having a coffee late helps you sleep better, or something."

As her double espresso was bring made, the guy who'd been staring at her walked over to her. For such an imposing figure, he seemed unsure of himself as he talked to her. It wasn't shyness or timidity, it was more like he was choosing the right words and mulling them over carefully. Though, when he asked her about her hand, it was Natalie's turn to start humming and hawing, and picking her words very carefully. She couldn't very well tell him the truth, or anything even remotely resembling the truth. Should she tell him she got it at work? But what if he somehow found out? No, she better tell him she got it at home.

"Oh, this?" she answered, raising her bandaged hand. "I was washing a glass up, and I was holding it too hard. Sometimes I don't know my own strength," she was about to laugh, but stopped herself. 'I don't know my own strength?' Jesus, Nat, be more careful! What if he was staring because he's from H.A.T. and he recognised you? You could have just given yourself away!

A Collaboration Between: @Bee and @Silver Carrot
Featuring: Camille Winters and Panda

Panda stepped into the warm interior of Captain Cuddles. Looking around, this was exact opposite of her ideal date spot. It was Family Restaurant with an arcade attached. The atmosphere was colorful but it was gaudy, and a little greasy and lived-in, and smelled of cheese and weed. This room itself told the story. This place used to be for kids before teenage burners became the dominant customer. Even so, the amazing pizzas were BHHS legend, and there was a Star Wars viewing on the roof. Panda wasn’t a geek by any stretch of the imagination, but Star Wars was an okay enough movie. What had really sold Panda on this date was the rooftop cinema as a concept. It was quirky, kitsch, weird, and didn’t have the sexual tension of a drive-in cinema. The emo girl smiled and turned to Camille, hoping that she wasn’t having second thoughts about this. The date or the location.

Stepping inside the facility had chucked Camille all the way back to her childhood. It was the ideal vibe for a date, even though it was definitely somewhere she would’ve gone as a child. She couldn’t help but to shake that thought from the back of her mind. Knowing that this was chock full of nostalgia. ”Jeez. It’s like my childhood in here. You sure this is a date place?”

Panda took the flyer from her coat pocket and showed it to Camille. ”Yep. This is the right place. Captain Cuddles. Date night. Star Wars on the roof. But yeah, I do like it in here. I might have to come more often, depending on how good their pizza is. Speaking of, I wonder if we order now, or order on the roof. The flyer isn’t very clear on that.”

”I uh… actually have no idea.” Camille shrugged, before she started looking for a way upstairs. ”Why don’t we head to the roof first and see what’s up? Maybe we can ask around. Worst case scenario is that I come back down and order for us. Besides, I doubt there’d be much room up there. Better find us a spot now, yeah?”

”True. I’d hate for us to go up there and find no good room. Or no room at all. Let’s go.” Panda replied, following Camille. They found the stairs, and made it to the roof. There were a few couples there already, already stocked with pizza, but there was still more than enough room for the two of them. Everybody else must still be in the restaurant.

Finding a nice spot that wasn’t too close or too far away from the screen, she sat down and waited for her girlfriend to join her on the rooftop before saying anything else. ”Well hey, here’s our spot…” Camille smiled, before glancing around for anything else. ’Now is the problem of the pizza. I still don’t know where to get it. Guess I’ll go down and get if for us?”

Panda sat down, and pulled her collar a little higher. It wasn’t warm, after all. She then answered Camille. ”Unless you want me to go down, but sure! I’ll have something a little spicy but nothing that’ll blow my head off. If it has jalapeños, then yes please.“

”Jalapeños? I never took you as a spicy food type of person.”

”I’m not a spicy food person, per say. It’s just cold and it might warm me up. Besides, jalapeños are deelicious.“ Panda shrugged and smiled.

”That makes you a spicy food kinda person, technically.” Camille laughed, before giving a small wave to Panda, ”I’ll be back. Just gonna get us some pizzas. You hold down the fort here… and I’ll be back with your pizza, madame.”

With that, Camille went downstairs back down to the cashier. He was a pimply, gangly, homely boy who looked absolutely dead inside. Understandably so, since he had to deal with the worst people, whether it’d be mothers demanding for his manager since he didn’t honor their coupon that expired three years ago, or screaming little shits that didn’t know how to shut up. At this point he was just a former shell of himself. Camille coming up to him made little to no difference in his demeanor.

”Hi! I’d like one pepperoni and sausage pizza… and whatever your jalapeno special is.” The girl smiled, before pulling her wallet out from her purse. The cashier absentmindedly pounded the order into the system, before pulling up the final total. Thank goodness they were here tonight, otherwise Camille’s wallet was going to be crying a LOT. Handing over her debit card, the transaction was completed and the cashier let out a big sigh as Camille turned around. She thanked the cashier, but he wasn’t having it today.

Big mood.

Walking back up the stairs, Camille found her way back to her girlfriend, smiling as they made eye contact. ”Miss me?” She asked, leaning in to kiss Panda on the cheek. Panda chuckled, and leaned in to offer her cheek to Camille. As she did so, she put her arm around her.

”You were gone about three minutes, but yeah, I did. But it’s funny. Even though we’re dating now, I don’t really feel that everything’s changed. And I think that’s a good thing, you know? I think because we were already bffs who were comfortable hanging out, we’ve bypassed the awkward dating phase completely.”

”Well that’s good, isn’t it?” Camille smiled, before turning around to see if the pizza arrived. It didn’t. ”The honeymoon phase is always fun… Camille put her hands on the table, before softly embracing Panda’s even softer hands. ’...but every day with you is a honeymoon phase, to be honest.”

”Why have I never noticed how smooth you are?” Panda chuckled, as she turned so that she was looking at the blank cinema screen, and rested her head against Camille’s shoulder. After a while she looked up at her girlfriend’s face, with a foxish smile. ”Speaking of honeymoon phase, what were your plans after this movie?”

It was now, that the pizzas were delivered, and set down on the table in front of them. The woman who’d brought them up smiled a knowing, ‘ah, young people...’ smile, winked at them both, and returned downstairs.

”I dunno. I didn’t notice either.” Camille shrugged, before letting her girlfriend put her head on her shoulder, ”Too busy being infatuated with you.” Camille chuckled softly, before she watched the pizza be bestowed in front of them. The question that was presented in front of them now was a hard one to ponder. She didn’t know what to do after the movie.

”I dunno. What do you wanna do?”

Panda blinked. After that night on the boat, of all things, she wasn’t expecting that to fly over Camille’s head. Panda didn’t want to seem forceful, perverted or desperate by pressing the point, nor could she really let it drop, so she shrugged, and inadvertently blushed and looked away as she did so. ”I dunno...heading back to my place would be a bad idea, because my parents are...well, my parents.”

Raising an eyebrow, Camille soon put two and two together, realizing what Panda actually meant. ”On the first date? Camille’s face contorted into a sly smile, ”Well I’ll be..,” The girl laughed, before opening the box for her girlfriend, ”I’m just saying, I do have a car, babe.”

”C’mon, Camille, don’t pull that ‘first date’ stuff on me.” Panda giggled. ”We both remember the night on the boat. I think we’re past the stage where we need to pretend to be prudish and bashful around each other. After this date, We’ll drive somewhere quiet together before we have to go home.”

”Oh yeah… the boat…” Camille blushed, before turning back at the screen. ”I still don’t remember anything from that night.”

”If anything, that’s just a bigger reason to do it right this time, and remember it.” Panda replied, as the film came on, and she turned her attention to it, resting her head on Camille’s shoulder and pulling herself close with an arm sneakily wrapped around her, hugging the other shoulder. Panda didn’t quite remember that night on the boat either. It was a haze. She only remembered bits and pieces of that night. But for the time being, she was content with that.

Natalie Ellis

Natalie got back to her apartment very quickly after that incident. After the reptile had run off, Natalie was torn between chasing it, or actually calling the police. She chose the latter option. She'd had enough of heroics today. Sure, it went well this time, and two people are alive who would otherwise be dead, but Natalie had come very, very close to killing again. This incident had just affirmed in her mind that ever getting involved was a bad idea, and from now on, she must never give in to her curiosity. She didn't want to get her bleeding hand treated at a hospital either. Not only could she not afford it, but in a hospital environment, Natalie was at risk of her powers being discovered. She'd just treat it herself, with the first aid kit in the apartment's kitchen. Luckily Ellara was at work at this time, so her housemate wouldn't ask her any awkward questions as she bandaged her own hand. It was tricky, but she managed it. With that done, Natalie took off her coat, which had a bloodstained sleeve, and made a mental note to clean it properly later. For the meantime, she hid it in her room.

Natalie's room, in contrast to Ellara's, was tidy and organised, if very bare. There was a bed, a closet, a large bedside cabinet, and a chest of drawers, as well as a desk, and her keyboard. Natalie got changed out of her work uniform, reapplied her makeup to mask her tired, frayed and haggard face and make her look less than ten years older than she really was. After that, she changed into some black boots with a slight heel, light denim jeans, and a Gray woolly sweater. As comfortable as she's going to get while also looking like a stylish young girl who gives a crap. Now what should she do? She didn't get paid today for this week, and grocery day was always the day after payday, so they were out of coffee for now. As much as Natalie just wanted to chill out for the rest of the day and jam a little on the keyboard, or draw, she needed some caffeine right now. She grabbed her keys and headed back out.

Natalie entered the cafe, and nodded at Nicole before quietly muttering a 'hello' and smiling weakly. She said nothing else as she sat down. The usual. Natalie was always, a quiet, strange girl. The strangest thing was if Nicole ever tried to talk about something that had nothing to do with Natalie, she'd relax and hold a normal, rather pleasant conversation. Today, though, Nicole seemed focused on a rather tall gentleman who Natalie didn't know, yet she had noticed the way he'd looked at her, and then desperately tried to scramble through her memory to try to find whether or not she knew him. He wasn't involved with Project Lion, or a member of her old gang. They were all dead. So who was he? She set this question aside and returned her attention to Nicole. She subconsciously lowered her bandaged hand and covered it with the other, suggesting she didn't want to talk about it.

"Could I get a double espresso, please?" she asked pleasantly.

Hitomi gladly let Acion and Dulga go to a clear space, ready to begin sparring. She was glad that they didn't have to address the picture. Nevertheless, she was a bit put out. Why can't she ever have a normal conversation with Acion? Why does one of them always need to be topless, or shown an embarrassing picture of the other, or busy, or with company? It was just her luck to develop a crush on a boy and then never get a good opportunity to actually talk to him!

Mamoru then approached Hitomi, and offered her some...milk...? Hitomi's face betrayed that she thought this behaviour very strange, but her curiosity was piqued, so she took the bottle. "Well, I mean, I'm not going to lie, it's always a fear of mine that my horns might break in training one day, because I don't know if they grow back, and they're half my entire quirk from a combat standpoint. So, thanks for this." she replied to Mamoru, before she took a sip and tried to decide whether or not she liked the taste.

"You're Akasha-san, right? I'm still trying to learn everybody's names. I'm not actually here to train, but it might not be that bad an idea. What about you? What are you here for?"

It had been a very busy few days for Akane. Hospital paperwork, letters from angry parents, many Heroes among them. bad publicity. Press. And who better to try to smooth over the situation, and be the voice on the phone, assuring everyone that the students were safe from Villains, than a villain? At their school? In contact with them 5 days a week. Mako has seen entire newspaper articles, some even front page, about her, and why she still had a job after students under her care and protection were attacked by Villains. 'Were they friends of hers?' one paper had reported.

And the other members have staff had noticed Mako just...wasn't the same, the past few days. She wasn't her foxish, sneaky, sly grinning self, ready to delight in the embarrassment of some poor student. She had the support of all of them, having earned their trust through her hard work, high spirits and genuine care and passion for the job. The support of the students was another story. Details of the attack had spread and were now common knowledge, and when she called students, quite often they were either scared of her, suspicions of her, or resentful of her, or all three. The worst part was that Jean-Luc wasn't calling back. She understood that he'd probably be busy, though.

That's why she didn't appear to be looking pleased when Lysander came to the front desk. His pranking of Amane, and that whole indicent with the newsteam, were very entertain and both events had briefly brought the sparkle back to her eyes. She sat up, and managed an empty smile. "Mister Mordred-san," she greeted him with a shaky English accent, in at attempt at her usual playful demeanour. "How can I help you?"
Collab; Api meets Heidi

Location: Ashford Institute Library

Featuring: Gunnar 'Api' Grimsson @RumikoOhara & Heidi Williams @Silver Carrot

Api leaned back in one of the Library's big cushy drawing room style chairs studying a White board on which he'd finished writing a hypothetical expansion of Cavendish. He had discovered the bit of physics covered in the dust of waiting for the right moment to be tested and its reasons that engineering couldn't measure to the fine degree necessary to prove the theory. His work was filled with suppositions about gravity 20 - 30 years ahead of the tech presently available and showed how he'd steered the numbers obviously.

Heidi entered the library shortly after, carrying a stack of book so high she was straining to see over the top of it. As she carefully placed them on the 'returning' desk in four equal, stable piles, she smiled sheepishly at the librarian as if to apologize for checking in so many books at once after only checking them out yesterday. With that business concluded, she started heading into the library proper. She used to like reading before her mutation developed, but she had always been a slow reader, going over each page multiple times, carefully. A single book could take her months. Now, she was rattling off all these novels she'd always put off before due to the commitment. She'd also been reading a few books on mutations, but first, she had to read up on genetics and biology, and even some chemistry. She wanted to know more about how this ability worked from a scientific point of view.

Before her mind could turn away from the field of science, Heidi spotted the whiteboard from across the room. She didn't know what that equation was, only that it was likely in the field of physics, and that...she couldn't make sense of it. Well, that wasn't unusual. She'd never have been able to make sense of it. But this time, it's as if a part of her subconscious was trying to figure it out but couldn't add it up. It was like....it was wrong. But Heidi didn't know anything about physics more complex than Newton's laws. Who was she to think that wrong?

Api would notice a small mid-teenage girl approach him timidly, and give a little wave without raising her arm above waist level. She spoke in a clear Edinburgh accent, yet not too strong that he wouldn't understand her. "Hi. Sorry to intrude. I'm Heidi. Excuse me, but can I ask what this equation is?"

Api smiles and looks directly at the new girl "Its an expansion of the Cavendish model using information only I can supply" then he takes a deep breath

"No way to replicate right now because I've got the only tool that can weigh the mass of gravitons, its part of my mutation" He stands and he barely taller than Heidi his blond hair a little long and the color of golden wheat.

Heidi's face lit up as the pieces started to fit. "Ah! That's what was nagging me about it! Sorry. My mutation basically makes my brain a supercomputer. It is not as fun as it sounds. Besides, if you can understant this, you must be very smart, but for real. Oh! My name's Heidi. Heidi Williams. I haven't even been here a week. I'm new."

Api blushed being called smart, he thought of himself as average just better focused on things and when those things made up the understanding of his limits and capabilities he was all eyes and ears. "I am Gunnar, Gunnar Grimsson" says the blond boy from Iceland as he looks at Heidi his expression shifting to puzzled.

"Ah Super Computer? How does that make you a mutant and not simply a Savant?"

Api was sure there was some other reason Heidi was labeled as a Mutant and that her ability was likely so subtle they'd gone with the first evidence presented; her genetics held the marker and they razored it in. She might prove interesting to watch. Eidetic memory connected to Flash memory that might allow her to read every book she could focus on as the pages flipped by. She'd have trouble with the more nuanced portions of science and mathematics

"Well," Heidi started to explain, "I've been pretty average my whole life. In fact, I was terrible at maths at school. But a few weeks ago, this all suddenly started. I knew it was a mutation before I even got tested for the X-gene. I didn't change anything about myself, and it's not as if I'm just a little bit sharper. This ability is overwhelming. I can't slow it down yet. I have to pretty much stop thinking just to talk to people."

"Please don't misunderstand, I am merely curious about the obvious.he says with a gentle laugh
"I have a friend that thinks most people have at least a mild form of telepathic talent such as empathy or actual telepathy and supports the idea with how many people have said they knew their friends or family members were in danger or how twins share thoughts and do so without the X-gene.

Heidi stared blankly at him for less than 0.1 of a second, which was a very long time for her to freeze up nowadays. What was she supposed to say to that? Was he asking for her thoughts on the theory, or just telling her about it for conversation's sake? Did he think it was relevant to their past discussion? Heidi didn't even have any informed opinion on this subject. All she knew was her own mind, but she knew it very well. That was a good starting point. As she started speaking, the rest of her sentence quickly built itself.

"Maybe. All I know is that if our brains had this latent ability, mine should be able to use it at will. I think that if people do have these minor forms of telepathy and empathy, it might not have anything to do with the brain. Who knows? Maybe we have souls, and that's what we use when these things happen. Maybe I myself can use these latent abilities but just don't know how."

Api's smile broadens as things click in his head "I wonder if your boosted brain can learn new languages in minutes, hours, or days? Do you have an Eidetic memory? Can you operate on a subconscious level compiling and combining what you know to reach epiphany, that Eureka moment? Sorry I let my imagination run away at times and thinking how other abilities can be used helps me understand my own; I am a Gravitic Elemental" he says adding the last as if it were trivia

Heidi couldn't help but chuckle at Api's enthusiasm, as well as his actual interest in how her mutation worked, more than just jealousy, or trying to test her with math problems, like her classmates had done. "In order, minutes, yes, and yes. And if I can help you somehow, I'd be more than happy to! I haven't really felt like I've...helped anyone yet, and that's partly why I came here. I mean, what mutant doesn't want to be an X-man?"

Api's quick mind tumbles the information he has been considering and decides to bounce a bit off of Heidi

"I believe people like ourselves try to hard to make it work, to get our abilities to do what we want when what we are doing is akin to learning to walk as a baby. Babies can walk and we can walk without detailed analysis and direction of the act, the more we do it the better we get at it" He chuckles "Practice making perfect and all that rot"

"I know, it's just..." sighed Heidi, "This feels more like learning to walk, spending fifteen years getting used to walking, and then losing your legs and getting them replaced with a rocket. It doesn't work anything like legs used to, you have to learn to move entirely from scratch but only after you first try to forget how to walk with legs, and everyone thinks you must be having an easier time just because you move much faster now. I'll get used to it eventually, I know, but being able to think so many thoughts in a single second hasn't exactly...improved my patience."

"Heidi you need to relax, this isn't the old school rat race so many make it. Who understands how your brain functions except you and lets face it you don't have an owner's manual. Most computers have to wait to be put to work and they aren't gifted by inspiration. You are a living person and your brain built on the brain that has brought the world under its control. I just want to see what you make of it, how you use that power.

You need to focus on a subject that interests you and don't let anyone but yourself pick where it all starts, Science and physics are the things you can learn if you're willing to listen to your heart, to follow the connections."

He wants to tell her more but once more his uncertainty stops him short.

He had a point, but what did interest her? The prespect of knowing lots about science was certainly appealing. Heidi was about to comment on this, but she noticed his pauses. "Hm, are you alright? You keep stopping. What's on your mind?" She asked innocently.

Api thought about it then relented his held back theory "If your mutation is in the Brain it has to be farther reaching than speedy thought. There's Accelerated Perception which could allow you to see things either in abundance or speed. Then there is Causality Perception allowing you to see the way things are connected where to toss in the monkey wrench or how to stop that same wrench causing trouble.

Intuitive Aptitude allowing you to bypass the steady plodding pace of education with a few minutes or hours of observation. I could go on but I believe I spoken as much as my own limited studies can allow me to without speculation."

"I can do all of those things," she replied, "but they're all basically side effects of speedy thought, with a little imagination thrown in. I can't see things faster than anybody else, I can just process them faster. And I can't see the future. I can calculate some things so fast that I'll know what's going to happen before it does, but that's just more speedy thought. And I don't have intuitive aptitude. In fact I might be unable to 'learn' things in a conventional way. I just have perfect hyperthymesia, and the speedy brain to recall and process a memory. Like, If I read a foreign language dictionary, then had a conversation with somebody who spoke that language, I don't actually know that language, but I can still converse by, after each word they speak, remembering the page of the dictionary that word was on.

But you're right. I'm not sure I want to spend all morning talking about me either. What about you? Your mutation was gravity manuplation, right?"

Api smiled at her courtesy and said "Yes I do manipulate gravity, I have managed to learn to fly rather than just hover as I did when I first came here. I am working on using my ability to sense mass to enable me to sense all things within range and in a surrounding globe. Of course while I focus on my power I am also improving my body physically and on my reactive times.

This immediately hooked Heidi's attention and she sat up straight, with sparkling eyes. "You can do all that? Even theoretically, your quirk really does have a lot of uses! You're probably going to be an X-man, huh?"

"We are all Xmen by genetics. My talent makes me a more hands on type but your's is also a wonderful talent." Api said as he looked into her eyes. "Xmen are not warriors alone but mutants and not all things can be solved by force in fact as Sun Tzu said "The greatest victory is that which requires no battle". To achieve that goal requires Intelligence" he said with a chuckle

"Well, of course. The X-men aren't an never were warriors, and a mutant who thought so would be a bad X-man. But not every mutant will be, or can be an X-man. I imagine it would take a lot of training before the staff here would trust us with that kind of dangerous Superhero lifestyle." Heidi didn't glance at her watch, but her eyes defocused for a split second as she calculated how many seconds it had been since she last looked at her watch. "I'm behind my schedule so I should probably go and find the books I came here for, but we should talk about this again."

Natalie Ellis

Natalie felt the tension explode the moment she opened her stupid mouth, and now one of the two men, had started shooting at the giant lizard. She was close enough to see the man on the ground clearly now. He had definitely been shot, so one of these humans was a murderer. Everything new she saw just gave rise to more and more questions. She didn't dare get closer. As strong as she was, bullets would still kill her. The man wouldn't even have to be close to her to end her life. That was infinitely scarier to her than the reptilian. She knew that it would usually be the other way around, but Natalie was anything but usual.

She watched the reptile attack this armed gunman, and the moment he was disarmed, she started to approach the house, and entered the porch. Not a moment too late, either, as she saw the reptile about to kill its prey. "Wait!" she cried out, immediately feeling incredibly stupid. Luckily the reptile stopped, but now it was staring at her. Even now, what she felt wasn't fear, and no fear was showing on her face. Sure, she looked nervous, and sheepish, but her reaction was incredibly understated for how a small young woman should have reacted. The creature shook its head, then picked up the gunman's leg and pulverized it. Natalie winced and looked horrified as she turned away, but again, there was no screaming. Why was this woman behaving so...unorthodox?

The creature looked to the other human, then to her, and backed off. It was almost as if it was telling her to deal with him. She could see its eyes still watching her with what she assumed was curiosity. It was almost as if it was intelligent. Maybe it was. Maybe that lizard was one of the 'superpowered individuals' that had started to crop up in recent years. It was that same trend that cased to shady technology companies conspiring with mob bosses to artificially create superpowered individuals. 'Project Lion'. It was because of this that Natalie both resented Supers, and felt a kinship to them. Oops. She'd just caught herself thinking of Supers as other people again. Deal with it, Nellie. You're a Super now.

Natalie crouched down besides the guy with the sword, and with all the genuine warmth and friendliness of the fast food restaurant employee she was, she tried to talk to him. "Are you alright? Can you tell me what exactly happened here, or do you need some time to calm down? I'll call the police in the meantime."

This snapped the swordsman out of his stupor, and he lunged at Nat as he tried to draw his sword. Before Archie could react to this in any way, and before Natalie could stop herself, Archie would see this skinny, frail-looking woman grab the guy by the neck, lift him off his feet and pin him against the wall. With her other hand, she wrenched his sword out of his grip with a loud pop as she'd snatched it with such force, she'd dislocated his wrist. Her hand squeezed the sword until it snapped clean in two, blood running down the broken blade as this woman had cut her hand on the sharp edge of the sword. She raised her bloody hand in a fist to punch her prisoner. Archie would notice her eyes. They were wide, suddenly terrified, and seemed to be staring miles away, through the man, and the wall..

Before she could land that blow, sanity came back into her eyes, which began to tear up as she let the man go. Just as he was about to bolt, she delivered a swift finger poke to the back of his head and he collapsed, unconscious but alive. She wiped her tears away with her sleeve. This is why getting involved was a bad idea. This is why trying to be a hero was a bad idea. She'd almost killed somebody again. When would she ever learn to always, always keep her head down.

She then remembered her bleeding palm, and the pain it felt. As she winced and sucked air through her teeth, she also remembered she was being watched. She looked back at the reptile, and gave it an incredibly lame little wave. "Hey...Um, should we call the police, or get out of here, or...?"
